I know that everyone is going for a different problems they might face, whether is health or other issues. But the negativity the people are bringing is just not right. We are all there to find out peace. I have to say at the moments I did. I enjoyed my barefoot walking on the stairs from the parking to the monastery. At the monastery as well. But I had to isolate mentally in order to find the peace. The people are yelling and annoyed by everything. Like, all right people, we are all waiting in line for the same purpose, that's why we are there. There is no need to skipping the line and playing smart. Regarding the sleeping, yes it is on the ground and there are a lot, but a lot of blankets enough for everyone. Don't grab it, don't push it. There is no your space or my space for sleeping. It is open for everyone and It is just a corner where you need to calm and huddle and nap, you are not in a hotel there to sleep in luxury and take the whole space. But intolerance was way over the head to many people, even to the guards that are working there which are constantly yelling. It doesn't matter if there are many people or not every day, respect to each other, helping around, navigating and maybe creating some rules might help. Paint some lines for sleeping, where people need to make open space to the toilet or the water, because skipping on the blankets makes them mad. And please oh please clean those toilets. The toilets are so far away, but the container trash is so close that people are practically sleeping in front of them. It is a holy place, I would love to go again, maybe at different period of the year (definitely not summer again)
you are in the area, I definitely recommend a visit. It’s best to go early in the morning, as it gets very crowded later on. There are two parking areas available – one at the base and another higher up for cars. The place itself is beautiful and has a spiritual atmosphere, though it can get quite busy with many visitors.
Beautiful and authentic monastery. Half an hour is enough to look around. No caffe or restaurant there, probably because it's an active monastery. A shop with icons, crosses and other religions staff as well as some souvenirs is present on site. Road to it is quite slippery due to a lot of stones in asphalt mass - be careful especially if road wet.
Interesting place to visit. Neat how they've perfectly blended in the building into the rocks. Looking at the amount of parking places around here and the waiting line structures at the entrance it can get crazy busy. When we were here end of October nobody was here. If the barrier to the last segment is open, you can just drive through it and park your car right in front of this place for free. Quite a few parking places there. We started by parking at the last official parking lot before the barriers at first, but from there it's still quite a climb to get to this monastery so we turned around and decided to drive all the way up, which was perfectly fine. The views over the valley are nice. Not much to see other than that. You can get inside some rooms of the building, but it's not that interesting. If you don't hold a religious relationship with this place, it's nice for a quick visit, but otherwise, especially when it's busy, I would say skip it.
A beautiful monastery in the middle of a mountain. The walk up is a big one and i would definitely recommend bringing water and good shoes on a hot day. We waited for about 10 minutes to get into the monastery itself and we had to wear a little piece of clothing to cover our knees. It more than worth it to visit this place!
A trip to Montenegro should include a visit to this incredible Monastery. Many go as a Pilgrimage, but no matter why you choose to visit, it's can experience not to miss. There are a couple parking lots. The upper lot is the best option, but still requires over 150 steps to climb.
The place is a must visit regardless of your religious beliefs. For those who believe - it's considered the most sacred place in Montenegro and probably one of the most visited for the pilgrimage in the entire Balkans. For those who not too much in religion - the monastery was built in the vertical cliff high in the mountains in the 17th century. Not the everyday sight, isn't it? The place is well known for the miracles happening there. Those who come there for the pilgrimage walk 3000 steps upstairs barefoot. Those who come just to see can drive up the slope and walk the remaining part from the parking lot along the zigzag road or take the same steps. Cars with disabled persons or small babies can drive up to the top straight to the monastery. The views from the top are stunning and tend to set you to the meditation. Those who believe can enter the small chapel with 17th frescoes and approach the remains of Saint Basil of Ostrog, pray, get the blessing, it's a very peaceful and blessing place.
Not worth the stair climbing and the walk. The building is kind of impressive and the view is nice, especially from the top balcony. The parking near the monastery is only for disabled people and (at least that’s what the sign says; we were not allowed there). So, if the general parking is far, you have to climb a lot of unsafe and unstable stairs.

Expert guides tell the story of Jameson in a recreated distillery scene with tastings and dining.
Slide 1 of 8
It was incredible experience. Our tour guide was amazing. First you get free welcome drink - you have 3 options from Jameson (Jameson with lime and ginger is amazing). Then you go to first room, it’s about history of Jameson. Second room is about how to make Jameson and on third you learn about differences, how to smell and taste different Jamesons. With this guide, it was really amazing and I could stay longer than 45 minutes.
My wife and I took this tour on a Monday morning a few hours before our flight home and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very animated and obviously loved his job! Great tour through history all the way to current time. Definitely recommend this tour for any whiskey aficionados or anyone with just a taste for Jameson.
I paid about $26 for the Jameson Distillery tour and it was worth every penny. They start with a really cool 3D projector story about the history and how Jameson is made, then you move into a tasting room where you try four different Jamesons and learn how to properly smell and taste whiskey. It truly feels like a world-class experience. The premium ones were noticeably smoother (whiskey by itself definitely grows hair on your chest 😂), but it was fun, informative, and delicious. After the tasting, you get a drink included — they already have a bar set up with several cocktail options, and if you want another drink afterward you can buy more. The tour guide was incredible — funny, knowledgeable, and made it feel like he actually believed every part of the history. It was so good I found myself thinking, “Do y’all hire? I could work here too.” The staff overall was extremely friendly and helpful. They’ll even hold your bags if you’re coming straight from the airport like I was. There’s merchandise at the end if you want to shop, and the whole experience is just a lot of fun from start to finish. I would 100% come back and I’d tell anyone visiting Dublin to add this to their trip.
What an unforgettable experience at the Jameson Distillery! We opted for the Secret Whiskey Package and savored every moment. The tour was a delightful blend of history, craftsmanship, and fun, with fascinating insights into the company’s founder and the art of whiskey making. The highlight? Learning the skills of whiskey tasting, followed by a truly delicious sampling experience. Despite the bustling crowd of fellow travelers, the staff made us feel so special and welcome. We loved every minute and can’t wait to return!
Had a fantastic tasting tour on my second visit to this iconic Irish distillery. The guide’s deep knowledge and entertaining presentation made the experience memorable. It’s no wonder Jameson remains one of the world’s top selling whiskeys. Highly recommended!
Exactly everything you'd expect from a distillery tour. Great tour guide, samples of the whisky, and the best ambiance. All the employees were stellar and very nice to chat with. You can also purchase exclusive bottles you can't get anywhere else in the world.
This is one of the best distillery tour I’ve ever done! I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin. Our tour guide was really informative and had a great demote of knowledge about the history of Jameson’s. I’m not usually a Whiskey drinker but after trying a Jamesons, Ginger Ale and Lime in the bar I am converted.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jamison Distillery. I went with my husband and my daughter. It was very informative and quite interesting. There were several experiences during the tour. We tasted whiskeys that we hadn't tried before. Our new favorite one is Black Barrel. We've bought a bottle now that we're back home and have shared it with a neighbor. He is now a fan! I recommend going on this tour. It's fun, educational, and it even has a cute little shop inside.

One of the most amazing lake in the mountains of Montenegro. It has many small islands inside with trees growing in the water. Its waters are blue amn clear that you want to dive into it. Green banks around the lake rim the large lake borders. An exciting view on the lake you can catch from the view point on the road M6 from Kotor to Nicsic.

Surprisingly good lake for kayaking (no kayak rentals though), with clean water and nice view of the mountains close to Niksic. Only a little bit more than 1 hour from Durmitor, which makes it a perfect destination if the weather is bad up there.
Wonderful nature, perfect for bird-watching, cycling, walking, meditating, camping, having picnics, and lots of other amazing outdoor activities! Always delighted to come back here! ❤❤❤

We drove passed and stop by this place. Nice place can see the town veiw. Better some local office there should look after this place well.
It is in ruins but fun to explore and also free. Went here early in morning and it has magnificent views of the town. Great if you love to explore ruins like i do. Easy to find with google maps
Right now it's closed, both entrances are sealed with a lock. Maybe on the weekends? Still a nice view from the outside. You can park outside at the parking place.
The best view in Nikšić. Run down but lovely. Great to see the end of the railway as well.
Nice place with historic remains. Great sunset!
The Bedem fortress is the medieval ramparts of Nikšić's Old Town, dating back to Roman times in the 4th century, later reinforced during Ottoman rule. Its walls and towers offer panoramic city Open year-round and free to visit, it's a lovely spot for strolling, sightseeing, and imagining the past defenses of Onogošt
Great viewpoint, however place is abandoned.
Very authentic place, seems authorities are not interested in commercialise this place, so it's a good chance to get deeper into original historical piece.

Overall, the Orthodox Temple of St. Vasilije in Nikšić is praised for its spiritual significance, historical value, and the serene, awe-inspiring setting that attracts thousands of visitors annually.
Nice and relaxing place. It is very comfortable here in summer's hot days - park, great trees, cold water and benches are making the church's territory very cozy. In general, the church looks good outside but very poor inside. Perhaps it was renovating...
Beautiful little church, set in nature on a hill with great views. Well worth a visit. Free to visit and parking nearby.

Lovely place for a break with kids on a long trip to seaside. We loved the river, outdoor playground and the food was not the best: my breakfast included two peaces of grilled pork meat (why?!) but, other things were fine. Prices are more than fair! No dogs allowed :( without real reason why, I guess they shall reconsider this ban since lot of people are traveling with their dogs. Maybe introduce some rules like “dog on leesh” and “pick up after your dog” if that’s the problem. Also, they should clean the river Zeta at the entrance, it was littered with trash- what a sad thing to see. However, nice place to visit.
A beautiful huge outdoor area near the river with a playground, it's a great place for families with kids. The service was okay. We are only eating Gluten free and it was hard to explain it and get their attention to it. Eventually, we understood that we can eat Chicken fillet and some other dishes. The place and atmosphere was amazing, the service was okay as well as the food. It is a good choice if you in the area. Note, it is better to get there from the entry near the main road and cross the bridge to cross the small river.
The restaurant is located across the river from the "apartments and rooms", so you need to park and cross over the bridge. There's lots of outdoor seating next to the river, in a beautiful, serene place. There were a few goats roaming around and grazing in the field nearby. The food was amazing, friendly and attentive service, we were sorry to have to go.
Just a 5-minute drive from Nikšić, in the shade and right next to the river, you’ll find Manitovac Restaurant – a beautiful spot for a family outing. There’s a huge meadow perfect for children to play, along with various animals that the little ones will enjoy. They also have a great playroom, so you can relax with a drink while the kids have fun. The food is decent – I would recommend the soup, Karađorđe schnitzel and home made bread. The chicken tortilla is average. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to relax and spend time with your kids.
Wonderful view and atmosphere Food is fine but takes ages and arrived cold.. But still a real beautiful fun place for relaxed visit
We visited here on a fresh Nikšić evening. Food was amazing, atmosphere and location was also stunning. We were greeted by a charming waiter called Damian, considering we are British, he spoke perfect English and was very talkative with us. Service was quick, and once again, the food was amazing. I went for the “Veal under the bell” with potatoes and it was genuinely stunning. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the region, authentic Montenegrin food and wonderful location.
We stopped for a late lunch on our way from Zabljak to Kotor. The grounds of this restaurant is beautiful. We set by the river under shaded trees and there baby goats roaming around. We ordered the traditional Montenegrin of potato and slow cooked veal under the bell and were not disappointed. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. The service was efficient, friendly and professional. We spent 20 days in Montenegro and this one by far was the most memorable meal we had in this lovely country.
No signage to find it. When we eventually did locate it, we locked our bikes up & walked down to the bridge - to find a big sign saying no dogs allowed! We took our custom elsewhere, their loss😡

Beautiful bridge on the outer edge of Nicsik, you can drive over it and also walk down and under along it. Worth a visit if in the area
The bridge of Tsar Alexander III. The most beautiful bridge in Montenegro, a gift from Tsar Alexander III Romanov, gilded with one gold ducat in each pillar of the bridge by King Nikola.
If you do not know it is there, you will just cross it without noticing it. You can stop by the sign from where you will have the best view of all the arches.
definitely worth visiting, because just the beauty of this bridge, takes your breath away. you can go down under bridge and hide from the sun, also look better look at the river
Sensational bridge a 5km walk from the centre of Niksic. Nice straight and flat easy walk and the prize at the end of this is absolutely out if this world. I am so pleased I made that little effort and in fact went for an early train from Podgorica so as to have the time to see this beautiful work of engineering and art.
RAILROAD TRUCKS ARE CUTTING THE ROAD Traveling from the regional road Podgorica - Niksic, I wanted to go to Emperors Bridge near Niksic. Google maps shows that it is possible to drive along the street Vrtacka, than to the bridge. But, there is problem. That street hits the railroad tracks of the train Podgorica Niksic. So it is not possible cross them and reach the Emperors bridge. It is necessary to drive to the street Strasevinska, than to turn right, to cross the railroad trucks, than again to turn right and drive the Boulevard 13 Jul to the Emperors Bridge.

A must see for any Brutalist architecture fans. A striking memorial dedicated to the communist partisans, located just outside of town but easily reachable on foot through a park or by following the main road and turning off at a roundabout. It offers a peaceful atmosphere in a picturesque setting, with an intriguing and quite unique design. Free parking available right infront.
Gorgeous spomenik. The story behind this specific area is tough and beautiful in the same time. I met an old man with his granddaughter there and he told me his father was a partisan.
A stunning memorial to the communist partisans. Set a little out of town although perfectly walkable through a park area or along the main road before turning off at a roundabout. Peaceful environment in beautiful setting. Interesting design and something pretty unusual.
Again a brief look into the local history. I am always fascinated by this crazy Yugoslav/Soviet history. Socialist architecture can be seen in many forms throughout the Communist countries but Spomeniks are one of my favorite.
Outstanding memorial. Worths a visit
May the souls rest in peace.

King Nikola's Castle in Nikšić, also known as Dvorac Kralja Nikole, is a historic royal residence built in 1900 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Prince Nikola's reign. It served as a summer residence and now functions as a local history museum showcasing Montenegro's royal heritage, with exhibits including artifacts, photographs, and personal belongings of King Nikola I and his family. The castle features a blend of Neoclassical and Renaissance architectural styles and is situated next to a city park and the Congregation Church in the heart of Nikšić
Beautiful and historical place. You can find pieces of all times. The museum starts with bones and rocks. After a while you find yourself looking at a machine gun or traditional clothes. The bad side is the building is so dirty and neglected. It must be redintegrated.
If you like historical stories, this is great place for your Montenegrin expirience. This museum is very rich in objects from different historical periods. Don't miss if you are near by. Also few steps from museum is very nice and peaceful place Hram sv. Vasilija Ostroškog, one of the most beautiful religious objects in Montenegro! Only 3 stars for this place because it should be retouched, renovated. It is sad how much historical treasure lay here and the building inside is like mistic cave.
It is a real pity, there is such a big potential but it is left on the side from the Podgorica administration...The building need a new roof, a new electricty installation, a better alarm system, new lights, etc...Etc... Really a pity.
Not open. Abandoned. Has a nice facade that could be a nice tourist spot
It is undergoing renovation now.

We visited Vučje in August and were blown away by how much there is to enjoy. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the hiking trails were beautiful — surrounded by peaceful mountain scenery and fresh air. It’s the perfect place to relax, explore, and recharge. We left with great memories and can’t wait to return, both in summer and winter!
I recently visited Vučje Mountain Center, and it was an unforgettable experience. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking – endless mountain views, fresh air, and a sense of pure tranquility. What impressed me most was the warm hospitality. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The accommodation is comfortable, and the traditional food at the restaurant is delicious – the perfect way to recharge after a day outdoors. If you’re looking for an active holiday or simply a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, Vučje has it all. It’s a hidden gem in Montenegro and a place I would highly recommend to anyone who loves the mountains and nature. I can’t wait to return!
I had an amazing time volunteering at Vučje Ski Center. The place is surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests, and every day here felt like a chance to reconnect with nature. I helped with different activities. The work was diverse and meaningful, and I really enjoyed being part of it. What made the experience even more special were the people, both the staff and the visitors. Everyone was welcoming, kind, and open to sharing their culture and stories. It really felt like a family. If you’re looking for a place that combines nature, tradition, and genuine hospitality, Vučje is definitely worth visiting. Whether you come to ski in the winter or hike in the summer, this place has something unique to offer.
Great hospitality and atmosphere, tasty food, pleasant accommodation. Travelling with a group. An excellent base to make a trip to beautifull Kapetanovo jezero. Definitely recommend. I hope to come again in future. Thank you
Angelica and her team, who are in charge now, run a hotel you are always hoping to find, but these lovely kind of places are so rare these days. Especially the breakfast is breathtaking and will immediately make you want to prolong your stay for yet another night.
