Science museum
Museums
Museum with interactive exhibits for kids on the body, movement & the earth, plus a planetarium.
Slide 1 of 8
It feels like transported in time to when I was a kid and was discovering science by experiencing it, touching it and sharing. 100% recommended for families, science lovers and curious people. It has a fix exposition, planetarium and several extra activities. Will repeat and try some activities next time.
Aside from its somewhat inconvenient access from the station, the quality truly lives up to its high reviews. The museum features various exhibits on themes like space and elemental creatures, which is excellent as it allows children to choose based on their interests. During my visit, there was even a special event where seniors offered wire puzzles, and the presence of such unique offerings is truly encouraging.
The counter warned us before we purchase the ticket that everything in this place is in Japanese. It is great for kids! Not really big though. There are many science display, moonwalk simulation, a chemistry lab, and a planetarium that you have to pay extra to get in. Be warned: it is a 1.1 km walk between the nearest bus stop and this science center. But the walk of the neighborhood is fabulous!
The Tamarokuto Science Center is a wonderful place for anyone who loves science, space, and hands-on learning. The exhibitions are very interactive and designed for all ages — kids, students, and even adults will enjoy exploring the different zones. The planetarium show is especially impressive, with a huge dome screen and clear explanations in both Japanese and English.
Raining? Cold? Visit this indoor playground with a lot of informative little attractions. Strangely, this planetarium boast about having the best planetarium projector in the world! Allow yourself for half a day or more if visiting with children and willing to see panorama movie and enjoy the planetarium show.
I went here with our schools elementary kids. It was an amazing experience and the staff were very nice and accommodating. Even though I was chaperoning, I too had a lot fo fun with the kids and was really impressed by how much there was to explore. The planetarium was really awesome and they even have the planetarium movie available in English! I would highly recommend for families and schools, it's a great, fun place!
The place is AMAZING and very educational for children and even parents ! It's very clean, well sanitized and safe to visit.
We went with the kiddos and it was amazing! Planetarium shows were my fave I’ve ever seen, especially the kids one. You can pack a lunch and bring food in, small table in exhibition room between sections. Or a bench at entrance. The cafe is smaller & was a LONG wait (during Obon...). Has drink vending machines near shoppe. Kids loved all the climbing exhibits!! Especially the one up the stairs. If you buy planetarium tickets (you get 2 shows), I’d plan on a good 3-4 hour stay for shows + exhibits. Highly recommended! Will go again.

One of the most peaceful shrine in tokyo. Would definitely recommend for visiting. Its connected by seibu Shinjuku line and bus from mitaka and kichijoji. It’s close to seibu Yagisawa station than seibu higashi fushimi station. Do visit during fall and spring to enjoy the beautiful trees and flowers. It’s kami is shared with the Fushimi Inari shrine in Kyoto. Similar to that temple, this one has many red torii (gate) in the temple.
Get there early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Lots of photo opportunities and the azealea festival is one right now just behind it
Such a lovely place, giving the vibe of Fushimi Inari in Kyoto. There were very few people when I visited last week. It is not big but very quiet and cozy.
Compact but picturesque place.
New Year's visit to the Higashi Fushimi shrine. Many Japanese people visit a Shinto shrine during the first three days of January in order to make traditional New Year's wishes for health and happiness.
a little far from station on foot, however many car parking near the shrine
This is similar to the Fushimi-Inari Shrine in Kyoto except it’s in Tokyo and it’s not on a hill. This place is like a maze. There’s more toriis than you can count and when you think you’ve seen a lot, prepare to see much more! It’s worth a visit especially if you cannot go to Kyoto because you’re in Tokyo. It’s a five-minute bike from Seibu-Yagisawa station so it’s definitely walkable. A hidden gem in the city.
This is a very well kept shrine. It’s always looks brand news

A wonderful shrine full of surprises! There are a sumo ring, a mini pond and bridge, lots of different and seasonal goshuin, many fortune papers, cute fortune telling fish to catch, beautiful cherry trees, fantastic dragon sculptures and more! There’s also a beautiful temple just across the street.
Tanashi Shrine is a peaceful and charming place filled with traditional Japanese beauty. The atmosphere is calm and spiritual, surrounded by tall trees and clean pathways. The architecture of the main shrine building is elegant and well-maintained, reflecting Japan’s deep cultural and religious heritage.
They have lots of collection rather than any other Shrine but the accumulated areas are not very big. Moreover We saw various alcohol bottles inside the shrine. I never saw it before
a little bit far from near station, there is a calm, holy, and sacred atmosphere within the shrine
Great place.little but looks like a park with small ponds inside the shrine.Perfect place for pray .
A beautiful shrine with a variety of Dragons around the grounds, and beautiful goshuin as well.
Great! A lot of spots to pray.
Thought of something nicer. It is not that big and very unfortunate that there’s a road behind close that makes it noisy.

(Translated by Google) When I visited here after a big typhoon, many trees had broken branches or fallen down, but I remember thinking that only one corner of the cedar was intact and strong. Unlike other large parks, the park has a policy of doing as little maintenance as possible, without constructing sidewalks or water holes, so it was impressive that there were so many different types of insects. A small forest in Tokyo with no difference in elevation. This is an irresistible place for people like me who love observing nature. I think it's best to go dressed as a mountain climber.
A beautifully kept forest that feels uniquely low key for Japan. You can visit and genuinely feel left alone in peace for a few moments! The facility certainly gives the impression that visitors are tolerated rather than welcomed. The opening times are also quite punishing.

This was an excellent place to visit it was very picturesque in the way that it showed traditional architecture, Throughout the centuries the place has been built on more and more and currently it's under construction. So please be careful while you're there.
A beautiful temple just across from Tanisha shrine. It has a stunning huge red lantern and a traditional street leading to it. They have goshuin available too. It is a small détour if you are already in the area or by Tanashi station. There is a beautiful cherry tree.
(Translated by Google) Next door to Tanashi Shrine, which is popular for its goshuin stamps, is Tanashisan Sojiji Temple, which used to serve as Tanashi Shrine's Bettoji Temple. The sect is the Chizan sect of the Shingon sect. The predecessor of Sojiji Temple was founded in present-day Yato, Nishi-Tokyo City by Gondai Sozu Shunei Wajo during the Genwa era of the early Edo period. It was then moved to its current location during the Keian period. Also, during the Meiji period, Kannon-ji Temple and Mitsuzo-in Temple were absorbed and merged, and the name of the temple was changed to Tanashi-san Soji-ji Temple. The current main hall was rebuilt during the Tenpo era. Annual events include the Gencho Grand Goma-ku, the Daruma Market, the Flower Festival Grand Pannya Tendokukai, the Naeichi Market, the Osegaki-e, the Obon joint memorial service, the Star Festival Grand Goma-ku, and the Tsukinami Goma-ku. As a temple, it is the 10th temple of the 36 sacred sites in the Kanto region and the 33rd temple of the 88 sacred sites in Tama. I received a stamp from the 88 Temples of Tama. An interesting large and quiet temple. Do note that this temple does not provide goshuins in case you are there for this.
I enjoyed this - definitely a different experience since they make you take off your shoes so you can enter different rooms. Only problem was the tourist was a bit rude and this places needed more staff to regulate these actions. Im a tourist myself, but some people need to learn how to respect the property and others. If you want to come here, try and come really early or on an off time.

I heard that temples and shrines in Tokyo were often destroyed by fire during wars. I imagine that even if something like this happens, we will be able to make a comeback thanks to the support of many different people. Rink rental and skate rental reasonable price... for Tokyo. Facilities are nice, the rink is set for ice hockey with full accoutrements.

The Kirikabu Jizo statue standing nearby was impressive. (Original)

For a local park it has great balance, plenty of facilities and a great common ground at its heart. The regular festivities and activities are educational or just fun. Barbeque hire facilities, an open sports area and the skateboard park are particularly good. The park is thoroughly recommended.
It’s our 3rd time here. First time we bring our pet dog .
This park has a great walking path, small play structures, futsal and basketball area, skatepark, and lots of trees. The staff is really helpful and kind. Our family loves this park!

(Translated by Google) A classroom in an abandoned school is used as a local resource room. There are 5 rooms. A wide variety of items are on display, from Jomon pottery to Showa era electrical appliances. An early word processor was also on display, and I was impressed by the local resource room's sense of finding cultural value in it. When you think of a local resource room, you think of it as clean and sparse, but this place feels muddy and dense. I would like to see more information on the military industries near Tanashi and the US military's bombing of them during the Pacific War.

I was surprised that there were fashions such as clothes and hair ornaments in the Jomon period, although this is true for the Yayoi period. There are five exhibition rooms in total, but most of them are about things like Showa life and old town scenes. The facility was built by reusing an abandoned school, so in the evening the classrooms are illuminated by the setting sun, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. There is a wide variety of exhibits, and it feels like local materials, including stone tools, Jomon pottery, old folk tools, and Showa era home appliances, with handmade explanations written on them. There are displays of handmade orama that follow the main events of the region over time, as well as actual displays of tools related to the area, making it a sight to behold. There are so many actual exhibits and detailed explanations, so it's so voluminous that you won't be able to see it all if you stop by just to kill time. Great place to pray. There is a festival in fall.
(Translated by Google) There were no people inside and the atmosphere was very quiet. Is this shrine the head shrine of this area? There was something written on it. There was no running water for washing hands inside, but it was well maintained and I imagine it must be difficult to wash your hands every day. About 10 festivals a year? event? I heard that it was going to be held, so I thought I'd like to go. There was also a great benefit of being able to see members who I was likely to meet in the future. In fact, I joined later, and that was the main reason. What was even better than I expected was that the coach even went out of his way to temporarily stop the flow of the class to provide individual guidance, and the students around him naturally accepted this. It's a small thing, but it was a big point for me personally. Thanks to your help, even though I am a complete beginner, I am enjoying it. The only thing I was concerned about was that all communication after joining, such as transfers, is done through a person, so you may have to accept restrictions depending on the time of day. Depending on the person, the feeling may vary depending on the condition of the coat or the shower, but since you can receive two sessions of these experiences, you can check them well in advance of joining.
