This was a very good surprise, very beautiful museum. Liked the many bronze artifacts and the reconstruction of a woman dress with all her bronze jewelry, then you can see who they were used. I thought the temple was next to the museum, but it was 6 km from the museum. Can highly recommend to visit both the museum and the temple.
Amazing place, although a little difficult to find. Well worth the hunt!
Although it appears unloved and certainly not as well kept or clean as it deserves to be, this Museum is worthy a detour to enjoy all the excavation exhibits discovered over the last few decades in different locations of Salento. Apart from the odd coach party visiting for a few minutes you will almost have it to yourself, making the visit a rare and delightful pleasure.
For only 2.50 euros you get one of the greatest collections of Ancient Greek materials. A large display of vessels, jars and jugs. The new section on numbers and formulas was impressive. A true gem. We had the place to ourselves.
well worth a visit 2,5y for people under 26 even cheaper. but the photo is taken at another place. If you want to see those pillars, search for "Tavole Palatine"
The museum is great and the exhibits are superb but the gardens and car park need two blokes with brush cutters for a month
Very interesting and incredibly big for this small village. The temple of hera is interesting too
Excellent guide very interesting

Water park

Really enjoyed this waterpark - definetly the best around. Reasonable price to enter at €18 per person and all sunbeds and umbrellas are free. There is an optional charge for rings to speed up access to the rides - which was well worthwhile. Some negative comments about rides closing during the day, but this is well advertised, so was not a surprise - the rides close from 1 to 2. Family of 5 3 children from 11 to 17 Highly recommended 👌
Great for little kids and not expensive got some big slides for the older, maybe missing a lazy river but pretty good value for money 18€ to get in 8€ for double rubber ring and 5€ for single ring you will need these if you plan on going on 8 of the large slides a cap is required in the pools 3€ and 2€ a locker. Overall decent and queues not too large.
All slides close for 2+ hours in the middle of the day, the Pirate ship is in need of replacement: birds fly into the various holes in the rotten wood. almost all slides you have to be 10+ years old to enter and staff yells and curses at you in Italian for misreading the age restriction on a slide. Staff in general seemed very unwelcoming to non-Italian speakers and when we mentioned this when leaving, management defended their workera stating some people simply do not like serving foreigners. The 'parking site' is filled with debris from construction so be careful when driving in and out. We caught a thick iron bolt in one of our tires. Two stars because the first half of the day we actually had quite a good time before all of the above happened.
Nive avquapark with animation and nice attractions. Hair cap compulsory (acqualandia in Jesolo doesnt require it so i dont know why...) plus you need to rent a personal inflated boat to go down the main runs which makes it a bit cumbersome. Best during the week as there are smaller crowds. If you are in the area with kids (or not) go and have fun...my rating would be 4.5 if i could set it this way. Everything was clean (maybe sometime a bit old but also not so expensive as the new parks)
Aviod this place immediately. They will practically steal your money. First they will ask for online reservation, and when you will enter they will ask for ticket. So for a family of 3, you will have to pay €80(just the entrance). When asking why, they will act like they have informed you but the lady at the pool entrance is the very first not knowing the procedure. After insisting she tried to offer me some gadget for the pool just to make up things. After entering they had no clue where the reserved umbrella and beds are but will take you randomly. Careful with food and prices!!!
Our visit to this water park was deeply upsetting and has left us with a very negative impression. My daughter was denied access to one of the slides simply because she did not have a swimming cap. While we understand that some facilities have rules, what shocked us was the blatant inconsistency in how these rules were enforced. Several Italian children were allowed to use the slides without swimming caps at the same time, right in front of us. When we pointed this out to the staff, they dismissed our concerns and refused to explain the discrepancy. It was hard not to feel that my daughter was treated unfairly just because she is a foreign tourist. I strongly caution other international visitors, especially those with children, to be aware of the negative and possibly racist attitudes displayed by the staff at this park. This kind of treatment is unacceptable in 2025 and reflects very poorly on the management.
Very crowded. But a lot of fun, family and friends.
Quite ok. But just ok. The water in the pools is not cooled - you feel like you are in the soup. There is a break on the slides (1pm till 2pm - actually 2:15pm) kind of "lunch break" as if they they could not organize any substitutes of the guards even if there were PLENTY of people waiting. They apparently don't care about their guests. And remember - the rubber boats are not free - you need to pay extra for them to your ticket....

Classical quiet mountain city, unpretentious residents, long history. vacation spot.
The castle looks beautiful from afar. Unfortunately, although the renovation according to the map ended in March, the interiors are still unavailable. Maybe next time it will work!?
Unable to go inside I believe still work being done.
just one of the italian little castles, there were some guys that helped the visitors to visit explaining some stuff about the castle's history. you can see the entire castle in 15 minutes
A nice castle and a church.

Although not that much to see, still interesting enough for a little detour. Entree fee is 3€ per person
Ticket cost 3€ for adult my kid 10 years old was free entrance. Staff courteous,WC/toilette are available with soap and paper towel(finding a toilette with soap and paper towel are the nicest thing to find after visiting the site on hot hot weather day to freshen up 👍). We found it a super nice cultural stop.
The site is not free bit affordable (5euro x adults and free x kids...at least x italians). The site is kind of suggestive. Unfortunately panes with maps and explicayions could be better mantained. The area offers a vue of an ancient greek urban setting with a small anfitheatre. Overall interesting.
Impressive ruins. In need of investment across the board to achieve its full potential.
A beautiful area, with the true remains of the city but it could be kept better: no bars, no toilet (I think), free entrance but I wish to pay a small entry fee in order to help keeping this place preserved for future generations. Open from 14 on Saturdays.
Friendly service, but the upkeep canise some work (uncut grass and broken or unusable stairs)
Small but interesting archeological site. Too bad is not well maintained and some of the ruins have been restored in a questionable way.still worth a visit if you are in the area.
interesting site, but poorly restored with rusting metal bars, viewpoints are inaccessible as the wooden steps have rotted away, and there is quite a bit of rubbish on the site. needs a little TLC...

Wonderful Southern Italian Experience on the Gulf of Taranto.
Nice food, very polite people
Overall ok experience. Visited the beach late July 2022, it was a peak tourist season, the beach was somewhat crowded. There was some leftover garbage on the sand and not enough trash containers. The water was very warm and pleasant, bit murky due to the fine sand, first 10-20 feet shallower water then deeper. No body guards are present. The beach and the food venues could use an upgrade.
Do not go here if you are an English tourist. The head beach bed & umbrella guy heard us speaking English & asked him for 2 chairs and an umbrella and he said we were all full despite there being multiple chairs closed meaning they had not been taken yet. An Italian couple waiting directly behind us were afforded an umbrella and chairs as the guy said to them “we have space for you guys”. Ended up going to a better cheaper spot down the beach. Warning other English tourists do not go here!
Top one on Metaponto Lido.. From bar service, restaurant and pizzeria..and beach features..
I had a great time. Beach was clean. Friendly staff.
Quite beach, nice for swimming.

We took a detour on our way to Matera to see the lovely beach we had read about. We didn’t plan to eat lunch because we brought a picnic. But, once we saw Gabbiani was open, we decided to try it out. I’m so glad we did because it’s a family run business with great food and it’s right on the beach! Silvia speaks great English and provided great service. Her brother, Andrea is the chef and he also does a great job. We had spaghetti vongole and grilled fish and couldn’t have been more pleased. In the small world sense, we found out that Silvia’s “uncle” of sorts married a woman and artist from Austin, Texas (our hometown) and the couple spends half the year in Italy and half in Austin. The artist, Sandra Langston, did the murals for the restaurant too. Such a small world!!
Nice atmosphere, but terrible food. I don't think there's many better places in this village, anyway.
It was a delicious dinner. The owner was very kind and patient. It would be good to have an English menu because it took long to translete it.
Fully booked today :( however it's a VERY clean place & staff friendly. Could do with music&activities on the beach ;)
This has been demolished.
