This museum gives a nice overview of soap's importance, specially in the context of Portugal history and Belver's people. Besides the historical side it also explains, in a nutshell, the basic scientific principles behind soap's chemistry. There are several objects displayed with associated captions, and many of the walls are covered with explanatory texts. It is small, so it doesn't take much time, we took around 40 minutes. The receptionist was nice and overall a worthy visit.

A tiny museum which is neat and clean. As a foreigner I would have appreciated some subtitles in English but one of the people at the counter was helpful and provided some notes in English. There is a good video taking you through the manufacturing process. The young lady who welcomed us was lovely and despite being new there made us feel very welcome. This is the sort of service that gets good reviews.

A good place to spend 30 minutes or so for self-education. Nothing too spectacular, but the interesting information is there. As well as artisan soap for sale.
