With a dining hall showcasing a superb outlook over the lake and snowy mountains beyond we enjoyed 5 star meals with a dedicated area for kids to serve them selves. The buffet style breakfasts and dinners were beyond our expectations and unlike anything we have experienced in hotels in Australia. Our room was beautifully crafted with modern amenities yet still holds the charm of traditional Japanese architecture. There are beautiful hot spring bath areas (with both a unisex area for wearing swimwear and a male and female separated area where no swimwear is required) This was the perfect place to relax after we hit the slopes at the local ski resorts which there are plenty to choose from. The staff were incredibly helpful and even though we were some of few westerners staying they went above and beyond to make sure we knew our way around and where to get supplies (shops on site and a handy Lawson convenience store across from the hotel) and where to hire our ski equipment etc. There is also so much for the kids to do with rooms of arcade games, a bowling alley and not to mention a water slide. Our kids didn’t want to leave and neither did we!

After hiking Mt. Yoko, we indulged in the rejuvenating sauna at this big resort hotel. With its breathtaking views of Shirakaba Lake, the sauna and outdoor bath provided a serene atmosphere. Complimentary bathing suits are available, allowing you to enjoy these amenities with friends and family. The cold bath, filled with drinkable natural mineral water, proved to be an exceptional experience. This experience made me reconsider the exorbitant prices of saunas in Tokyo, as this one offered far more for a reasonable cost.
