You breathe history inside. All is peace and quiet. Pity some parts of the premise can't be restored and maintained.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful place!!! With a lot of history and where Fray Mamerto Esquíu completed his first studies. It was completed at the end of the 19th century, its inauguration and blessing was in 1905. Both the Church and the Convent were declared National Historical Monuments in 1941. It preserves a relic of the Friar. The façade is Neo-colonial Baroque style. (Original) Hermoso lugar!!!
(Translated by Google) We saw it from outside because it was closed but it was very pretty!
(Translated by Google) Beautiful temple, I went to mass, everything was very nice.
(Translated by Google) The convent is very old; and the church... If you could enter, through a door on the side (not the main entrance), you'll enter the convent itself. Walls are a meter and a half thick, a central courtyard, a very rickety room with an old cot and a window overlooking some inner courtyard, some books, all belonging to Fray Mamerto Esquiu. And this image or carving of F.M. Esquiu depicting the beatification process he is currently undergoing.
(Translated by Google) Impressive building. Unfortunately it is very abandoned and lacks maintenance. Saint Francis will soon be declared a Saint, however, in our country, there is no money to maintain the church and Convent. In addition, there is the Cell where he built his cloister and his Museum. Furthermore, his relics are found there.
(Translated by Google) The convent cannot be visited...it should be restored because it's an untapped gem...like almost all of Catamarca. Promote tourism, invest in attracting tourists. Unique opportunity to travel to the ameridian times. You can have the best and closest look of craft, burial urns, weapons, arrowheads and even a mummy belonging to the aborigines that inhabited the northwest of Argentina. One can't help being afraid that culture could be lost if something happened to this treasure. More safety measures should be taken since every article of the museum can be touched. The building is a fantastic structure typical of the colonial times, and very well maintained.
Some lovely bits of pottery. Only small. Explanations in Spanish only. All free. Toilets available although not the cleanest.
Collection of old pots, pipes and other belongings of the Aguada people. Pretty cool to see in conjunction with the lost village in catamarca!
Large collection of items in display cases.
(Translated by Google) The museum has a large and interesting collection of ceramic objects from the indigenous peoples of Catamarca. Unfortunately, there's no guided tour explaining the exhibit. The person in charge of the exhibition is too slurred to be a good communicator. I asked if I could take a photo of a sticker on the floor, and she said no. Furthermore, I didn't know how long it had been there, and why she was saying they couldn't remove it... she claimed to be an archaeologist. The visit wasn't pleasant.

(Translated by Google) The Adán Quiroga Archaeological Museum, located in the heart of San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, is a must-see for history and archaeology lovers. Housed in a neocolonial-style building within the Esquiú Cultural Complex, it offers an atmosphere that transports visitors to pre-Hispanic times. The museum houses an impressive collection of 7,000 archaeological pieces representing various ancient cultures of the region, such as La Aguada, Condorhuasi, and La Ciénaga, with remains up to 12,000 years old. Each room displays ceramics, tools, and other objects that reveal the ingenuity and spirituality of the indigenous peoples. An interesting detail is that, as a gesture of respect for Indigenous communities, the museum stopped displaying human remains in 2012. Additionally, admission is free, making it accessible to all. However, photography is not permitted inside, forcing visitors to absorb every detail with their eyes and their memories. In short, the Adán Quiroga Museum is a small but fascinating place, ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in the history of Catamarca and discover the cultural richness of its earliest inhabitants.

(Translated by Google) We went to Pueblo Perdido de la Quebrada in July. A beautiful place, steeped in history; it's an archaeological site. The government has organized a team of guides who take turns taking you up the mountain (not much of an effort, just a little). At the top, there's a plateau once inhabited by indigenous peoples. Very indigenous, that is, even before the people who once inhabited the Catamarca area. You can see the foundations of houses, grain stores and animal enclosures, places like markets or sacred sites. There's a sense of peace in that place, and from there you can see the places below. Then, you go down again with the guide, and they show you a film below and explain more. The film is even organized in an interactive way, and depending on what you "touch," it shows you one thing or another. There are places for people with disabilities, so they can also be there and receive explanations. And to the side, there's a small bar with all the local stuff, where they serve you various herbal teas and show you colorful stones. This mini-bar is called "La Torradería Espacio Gourmet."

It tells the entire history of the city and displays ancient artifacts that were found. (Translated by Google) Beautiful experience!! We entered by chance and despite being already closing they allowed us to tour the place and tell us its story. The house, in its origins, belonged to the Navarro governor. Infinite thanks to Leo and Juan Pablo, through them I learned that Aurora Ares de Vildoza led the "Women's Revolution" in 1862, in order to reestablish the constitutional order. She was, for a few hours, the first governor of an Argentine province, until the elected governor took over. The unfortunate thing is that this space does not have enough diffusion or publicity to make this part of our history known. I appeal to the Ministry of Tourism and the Catamarca Cultural area to make it so. Thank you!! (Original) Hermosa experiencia!! Gracias!!

(Translated by Google) May 10th. It was the 199th anniversary of Mamerto's birth. As luck would have it, our visit was surrounded by a festive atmosphere as preparations for the following day unfolded. We innocently wandered into the tourist office across the street, and thus, unexpectedly, were not only accompanied by a very helpful and knowledgeable guide who provided insight into the house and gave us a sense of direction, but also connected us with the patriotic and religious sentiments that illuminate the Friar's life story. A highly recommended visit. Everything was carefully curated, and the cordiality was always present.

Was here on a Sunday afternoon/evening. Many locals sitting, walking around and fishing all along the road along the lake. While you are here, just a bit futher up the hill is a statue overlooking Catamarca. It reminds me of a statue in NY.
Valuable lung for the city. Cool and refreshing, but unluckily dirty as well
(Translated by Google) Ideal for relaxing in a place with nature near the city, with trails to explore. Several rest areas. At certain times of the year it has recreational activities such as Kayaking. They inhabit a lot of vegetation and animals, remember to take care of the environment. It has two small sideboards with tables on opposite sides of the dock and you can take a walk along it. He doesn't have much qualms. Go with a cap, water and protector. Preferably visit when the sun is not fully shining. (Original) Lindo lugar para visitar. A 4km de la plaza principal de SFVC. Se puede llegar a pie. Lindas vistas. Se puede ir a descansar. (Translated by Google) A place with beautiful landscapes, ideal for hiking, biking, and enjoying the outdoors. The view from the lookout point is spectacular, and the natural surroundings invite you to relax. However, it falls short of a 5-star rating due to the presence of trash in several areas, which detracts from the overall experience. It would be excellent if awareness and cleanup campaigns were strengthened to preserve this very special corner of Catamarca. With a little more care, it could become an even more charming destination.

There are so many things that this campus needs that you'd choose somewhere else to study. But its asset are its human resources, you feel like home. You are not a number, you are an individual!
(Translated by Google) It is very good that the Catamarca brothers who are exercising sovereignty in the confines of this beautiful province have excellent distance education. It would also be better for them to be trained in geology and mining sciences since they are the only ones who can fight for their rights in that rich province and change reality. Education to understand that you can live without being exploited due to ignorance is the only way out.
(Translated by Google) Excellent place to study. I received a great education with excellent professors and classmates. The Faculty of Humanities and the Arts program are excellent places and offer very good programs. The downside is that the streets become dangerous at night. There should be more police presence on school days.
