We arrived in the afternoon so had to take the over priced minibus to the start of the walk. But it was worth it because the scenery is gob smacking. Went on the yellow walk to the big waterfall and then the shorter walk through the canyon. It was supposed to be 1km but felt much longer but great observation deck on the way with incredible views and a beautiful small beach at the end for a dip, then just a couple of hundred yards on a boardwalk back to the bus pick up which arrived on time to get us. Small shop at the bus stop for water and snacks. Take more water than you think you will need, at least 2 litres per person, especially if it's hot. Climb up and down to the waterfall was a little hard in the heat but plenty of places to stop to catch your breath. By far the most impressive scenery in the area. Went on canyon walk the next day. A much easier walk but much less impressive scenery.
Words can’t capture the beauty of the National Park! You can explore and enjoy numerous waterfalls—many accessible by hiking, and some even reachable by transfer. An unforgettable experience awaits.
Amazing place! Gorgeous natural beauty, perfect for those who love waterfall, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. The trails are well organized with arrows guiding you through the different paths. The entry is free, but you need to get there early before it reaches the maximum visitor allowed capacity.
Beautiful place and well kept tracking path! Expansive though… but it worth it ❤️
We visited the park in October and took the Saltos trail. Overall the experience was great. When on the 80 m fall - unless you have vertigo - make sure to walk down to check the view of the 120 m fall from the top! Stunning! The complete trail has 11 km and we did it in under 6 hours. Some bits are hard work so take your time on the falls. Don’t forget food and water (and refil it on the falls)!
Amazing hikes views and waterfalls! This ppace is so entertaining especially if you're from the northern hemisphere, new plants and species you'd never encounter. I'm just sorry I couldn't spend more than 3 days there, we didn't have time time to see nearly enough. I'm definitely coming back.
Amazing waterfalls, wonderfull landscapes. A unique place. Safe path. Strange stones.

After thoroughly researching the waterfalls and trails in Chapada dos Veadeiros, I was genuinely torn about whether or not to visit Vale da Lua. It’s one of the most talked-about spots in the region, and naturally, expectations were high. However, I left with mixed feelings. While the rock formations shaped over millennia are visually striking, the overall visitor experience left much to be desired — especially considering the entrance fee, which is relatively high for what is offered. What many travelers might not know beforehand is that several natural attractions in the region, including Vale da Lua, are located on private land. That alone isn’t necessarily a problem — as long as the management offers value in return. In this case, however, there is virtually no infrastructure, no educational or environmental interpretation, and no visible oversight or preservation efforts at the site. The trail is short and accessible, but beyond the views, there’s little to enhance the experience or justify the cost. Nature in its purest form is priceless, and while it’s understandable that maintenance comes at a cost, visitors deserve more than just access — they deserve care, information, and basic facilities that protect both them and the environment. Sadly, I saw no trash bins, no guides, and no clear signage. If you’re seeking a more meaningful connection with nature, I recommend exploring the many free or lower-cost trails in the area. These often provide not only richer immersion but also more solitude and authenticity, far from the “Instagram-only” experiences. Chapada dos Veadeiros is full of incredible natural beauty — you just have to know where to look beyond the hype.
Nothing special. Crowded and way to expensive for what it is. After 20 minutes I was out. It's more for people who like an Instagram photo and don't like to hike. If you are a hiker, there are way more prettier things to see! I was so disappointed
This is the closest I'll ever get to being on the moon without actually being there 😆. The natural rock formations is stunning and lots of opportunities for cool pictures. There are crevices/caves in the water area that are cool to explore if you have a tour guide or someone that knows where to go. It can be quite claustrophobic/scary if you're not comfortable with enclosed spaces and/or swimming.
40 real for entrance in low season, but only pix or cash . Pretty short trail but very interesting and unusual. It is really like the moon surface
This place is very unique and strongly recommended for a special experience. This is so different from most places I've seen! The rock formation, the color, and the scenery are breathtaking! 40 reas to enter! Hitchhiking is very easy in this city, even from Alto Paraiso. It took me 5 min to hop in a ride as there is no bus transportation (i heard of one but everyone Hitchhikes). Taxi can be costly there. Every fall cost 40 reas, including the 3 or 4 miradors. So, be ready to spend to access these places. I preferred Salto Curumbo (south of Brasilia as it had 5 amazing waterfalls, a waterpark, and 3 swimming pool for 65 reas). See and follow my other reviews for pics.
Crazy moon landscape with canyons, pools and unbelievable rocks. Be careful of the weather because the zone is subjected to sudden and violent floods. Trust local people indication and respect the limits. Enjoy and wander in this wonderful place!
Small, but pretty place with peculiar rock formations and a river that forms nice baths. Mild trails present a beginner level tracking challenge making the visit suitable for children as well as adults.

Close to city by car 15 -20 minute. Clean air clean river. Various places to take a nature bath. You can go with little children.
Expensive (70 Reais) and they don’t take cards, just Pix, which for tourists is very difficult to get without CPF and Brazilian bank account. Glad I had some cash with me. The nature there is nice. Good for families because of the wooden walkways. I prefer real trails though, so I recommend Cachoeiras dos Cristais and Águas Frias, they are more beautiful with less people and much cheaper (40 Reais).
I would like to see the falls and pools when there’s more water. It’s dry season. Beautiful, though.
The great infrastructure and the boardwalk make the pools well accessible. There are to walks leading to a waterfall with many pools on the way. Each trail is about 1km long. The entrance fee of R$50 a person is fair. We were just a bit disappointed as most of the pools were very low, only one pool was deep and blue as we imagined. Consequently many people stayed at this pool which didn’t make it enjoyable. I recommend only coming after a few weeks of rain.
Beautiful waterfalls! Make sure to go at 12pm.

(Translated by Google) Without a doubt, it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. The biodiversity of Catarata dos Couros is impressive. Located about 50 km from Alto Paraíso de Goiás, access is via a 35-km dirt road to the trailhead. Admission is free, and the trail to the waterfalls is easy, about 6 km round trip. However, there are some difficult sections, especially the sections that lead downriver. The circuit includes Muralha Waterfalls, Almécegas 1000 Waterfalls, Parafuso Waterfalls, and Buracão Waterfalls, all boasting numerous waterfalls, canyons, viewpoints, and rock formations that are well worth the trip. It's a wonderful place!

Just amazing 💜
Everyone knows it as a great place to watch the sunset. It is that, but not good for much else. And I have to wonder if just stopping at some other random spot along the road would offer comparable views of the sunset. Having said that, the night I was there (unremarkable evening in July) there was a crowd of 30-40 people there, all gathered just to watch the sunset. Kinda fun and heartwarming to gather for such a simple and rarely celebrated event.
You can just stop your car at some random place along the road and it would be the same thing. There is nothing special here. The sunset and the Morro da Baleia view are beautiful, but you could get the same view from hundreds of different places in the area.
Nice place to watch the sun set and look at the stars at night. Though you're limited to a couple view points and the place gets dirty after weekends when uneducated people use it as a toilet and leave their garbage behind.
Umm I don't get this place. The only thing that is worth going there for is to see the sunset. Apart from that there is nothing to see.
Not the best view from the road but you can always take a photo at the sunset
A great place to go through

So many beautiful places in Brazil and this is up with the best. Fair bit of walking and stunning pools and waterfalls to swim in. If lucky there are amazingly friendly little monkeys wanting a piece of your apple!! Simply wonderful.
I still don't understand why in Brazil people charge money for the waterfall. At least go to both( even if they will tell you that you need a guide, it is super easy , only 35 minutes to água Frio , and it is not that cold 🤣?
Very nice place, good food, waterfalls even better ;) i saw they have very good sound system in this place but had no occasion to check it :)
Nice place with a restaurant and shop. Pleasant walk down the river passing many small waterfalls, steep descent in a few parts. Largest waterfall at the bottom with a swimming pool. Lunch was good and reasonably priced. As with other places half price for oldies. Quite busy but was the weekend. There is a longer harder walk to another waterfall that we did not do.
The waterfalls and the trail down are absolutely fantastic here. Unfortunately, the place has become a bit massive with large sound systems and a big restaurant. Overall, the waterfalls are fantastic and the price is fairly reasonable for what you get. Definitely recommend it to anyone in the Chapada dos veadeiros.
Fantastic place to visit in family. There is a very good camping area. The waterfalls are safety for children.
An amazing and beautiful place for hikes and trails and waterfall baths. The scenery and the nature are breathtaking.
Great place, has good structure with a restaurant and bathrooms before you set out on the trail. The trail itself is a little tough, especially on the way back up. Everywhere you turn there is a different waterfall with little secrets further down the path. The star waterfall is at the very bottom, and is worth the hike, but there are many waterfalls along the way for those who aren't afraid to explore a bit! Bring good shoes! A great place to spend the whole day.

There is a really cool path to walk through the property with some interesting falls and viewpoints. The place has a pretty artsy vibe which I found to be quite distinct. There is a nice swimming area as well.
Dangerous place with no proper precaution or safety we lost someone we love very much here who was taken by the waters. He was not guided or warned about specific areas. His death was tragic and this place deserves to be permanently closed. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE!
2 days ago my friend went missing at this waterfall and he still hasn't been found yet... Google search "Raul Jimenez missing in Brazil" for details. Long story short, he and a couple of friends visited this specific waterfall and while they were there a flash flood came and swept Raul into the river. The others were rescued, but there is a nationwide search & rescue effort to find Raul asap. They have drones, divers, dogs, helicopters, and experts who are repelling that canyon in search of him, but he's yet to be found. Beware at this waterfall, do your research & find out what the recent rainfall was up-river of this spot if you ever decide to visit this waterfall so that you don't go there when flash flood conditions are possible. They had 1-3inches of water, easy to walk, until the flash flood hit and the water level immediately went up to their shoulders in seconds. At first, Raul found safety on higher ground for a few moments but the water level kept rising and eventually he had nothing left to hold onto, and got swept into the river by the raging current. His friend hung onto a rock for 6hrs before he was rescued at 11pm. Again, do your research and please be cautious....and possibly consider going to a different waterfall instead!
AVIOD AT ALL COSTS It’s not worth your life. A DEATH TRAP My best friend had a tragic death here that could of been prevented if this place was safe and secure. There is no information or security here for your safety. No near by ambulances, firefighters or anyone that can come and help you if you get seriously hurt. My bestfriend was swepted away by a flood of water. There were no signs to give him any warning or guide. By far the worst place to visit due to lack of transparency and accountability. We also discovered other people have died here prior. Not to mention when you get there it is so poorly managed and disorganized, things look super creepy and abandoned. This place deserves 0 stars and needs to be permanently closed!
Short easy walk with nice spots to relax. Due to heavy rainfall the river got impressive (see videos)
A beautiful place with exotic landscape on the trail. Easy enough for the children (5yo).

I would recomend you visit - swimming above and below the falls is an option. Beautiful place.
It is a beautiful waterfall with easy access, but if you want to enjoy more you should visit during the dry season from June to October. As it was November there was a lot of rain making it impossible to relax in the waters. Nevertheless it was an amazing sight to see.
Recommend it a 100%. The entrance price of 70R$ per person might sound a bit expensive at first, but if you visit all 3 waterfalls and spend a bit of time just enjoying nature, it is totally worth it. We went on a Monday morning and there was literally no one there! This one is much smaller then almecegas 1, but it's a nice one to swim!
Steep hike up, but gorgeous waterfall! Highly recommend!

(Translated by Google) ⚠️ IMPORTANT ⚠️ Part of the trail to the start of the Macaquinhos trail was paved, making access easier! I went on September 9, 2025, and was surprised to see the paving, as I expected to park in the parking lots higher up and walk. Fortunately, that's no longer necessary, and I even saw an HB20 there. If you have a 1.0-liter car, it could still be a risk, as the climb is extremely steep. Now, about the trail! The cost per person was $60. The trail is 2km to Cachoeira do Encontro (the last stop). It's not an easy trail, but it's not that difficult. I'd say moderate to more difficult. I don't recommend the trail for people with limited mobility. We went to three waterfalls (in this order): - Cachoeira do Encontro: magnificent and a very cold swim. The drop is so steep that it prevents you from getting close. This is the last waterfall and it's worth starting with. - Caverna Waterfall: One of my favorites in Chapada dos Veadeiros. The lake is much larger than the others, with a waterfall where you can take a great dip, and the cave completes the scenery. - Poço Sereno: Located at the beginning of the trail, we chose to hike it after the 2km mark. It's a great choice, as the dip is wonderful.
(Translated by Google) This Macaquinhos waterfall is not worth it. More than 31 km of dirt road, more than 2 hours of dirt road, the last 12 km are full of rocks and large holes and the last 1 km is super steep, the slope and gigantic holes are full of gravel, even walking down it is slippery. 50 reais per person to enter, there is a discount only if you vote there. If you live there and don't vote, you have to pay this absurd amount after all this work to get there. 2 km of trail there and another 2 km back, not to mention the 2 km going and coming back from the entrance, the trail is full of large rocks, steep and wobbly. We pay for no improvements in the structure along the way, no rope support, no improvement of the trail or even where you walk, there is no safety, weeds and branches tear your legs because they don't cut the weeds that enter the trail, which is already narrow, it is difficult, you have to wear sneakers and even then it is bad. A boring waterfall, all the same, only the name of each well or waterfall changes, it is very dangerous because of the currents. Besides, at the beginning you sign a “term” of age, date, name, phone number, etc., and it is up to you what happens to you. So honestly, it is not worth wasting time and money.
(Translated by Google) The Macaquinhos Waterfall is spectacular and worth every effort, with a truly special beauty! Access by car and on foot: The first 25 km of the dirt road are easy (any car can pass). The next 6 km are more uneven, and I drove my Onix Sedan in July 2025, being careful. Please note: the last 1 km of the road is very poor and NO NORMAL CARS CAN PASS. This section is only accessible on foot for those without a 4x4. For those who do, a 4x4 is ideal for this final stretch! Trail: Difficult for beginners! It's a constant uphill climb with many rocks, and there are sections that require sitting down to get down. Wear appropriate footwear. Essential tips: * Go straight to the last attraction and then explore the others by climbing up. * Arrive early! I arrived at 10:00 am, but I recommend arriving at least an hour early to make the most of it. Entrance: Costs R$60. Given this cost, it would be important for the road and trail to be better maintained, especially in the final stretch and pedestrian access. (Translated by Google) I've hiked many waterfalls in Chapada, and this one was definitely the one with the worst road and trail. It's a 31km drive to the reception, but the last 5km gets REALLY bad. The road is in poor condition due to the rocky terrain, and the trail itself is no different. It's tricky to get there in a low-rise car or even a 1.0-liter. The trail is relatively short compared to many other waterfalls, being 2km each way. The trail ends up being slow due to the rocks. The way there doesn't require much cardiorespiratory fitness, but the way back does. A 1km stretch that would normally take 15 minutes ends up taking 25 minutes due to the difficulty. The return trip has more climbs. It's beautiful and has several stopping points, but for those looking for a more relaxed trail, this one is definitely not recommended. Entrance fee: R$60.

The sun is very strong in the area. There's no cell phone signal. There are several parts where you can go into the water, more than one waterfall. We didn't see any animals. They sell water at the entrance.
(Translated by Google) Macaquinhos Waterfall is, in my opinion, the second best in Chapada. In first place is Couros Waterfall, followed by Macaquinhos. However, the road leading to Macaquinhos isn't the best. Fortunately, it has been significantly improved, with the paved sections leading up to the waterfall's reception area being paved. The road deteriorates considerably after 6 km to Macaquinhos, but it's still possible to reach it in a low-lying car. The waterfall's water is an emerald green, almost blue, perfect for a refreshing dip. The temperature is also very pleasant. The trail can be a bit challenging, as it's steep in some sections and requires considerable effort. Appropriate footwear is recommended, but water shoes are also available for the more adventurous. From Alro Paraíso to Macaquinhos is about 45 km, of which 32 km are dirt roads, taking about an hour by car.

Wonderful waterfall! Very big pool with deep water. Lots of rocks to lay in the sun.
Best natural whirlpool ever. Beautiful view, amazing sensation. Not so demanding as the trail for the “Salto”.
An amazing and beautiful place! Recommend it!

Wonderful view but accessed only via a difficult/hard trail. Don't go if you are not in your best fit. Be aware! It is a rattlesnake habitat area!

A very nice and calm place. There are two main falls (Anjos & Arcanjos) and three pools (3 poções). It's an easy trail, about 1 km, just the last part is a bit harder. When you face two options, going left you'll reach Arcanjos, and going right you'll find the other two sights. The entrance fee is R$ 15.00. it's a really recommended place!
Hey this place is ugly, it's in the forest, what's so beautiful about just looking at the waterfall?
Truly nice forest experience with beautiful views. Only for physically fit persons though. If you feel like a little excercise, go for it!
I thought Arcanjos is one of the best swimming areas in the park.

Then it's another 350 meters to get to one of them, the Guardião waterfall, and another short trail in the other direction of about 300 meters to see two more beautiful waterfalls: the Altar waterfall and the Grotto waterfall. On the way back, you can stop at the waterfall whose name I don't remember. (I always start my tours at the most distant waterfalls and work my way back). This place also has a swimming pool, which I didn't even go in, and a small sandy beach that leads to a part of the river rapids. You can drive to this beach. If you have children, older people or those who don't want to walk, this beach is a good choice. 30 reais per person to enter, if I'm not mistaken. And there are no things for sale there. Like water or food! ⛰🏞🎥

(Translated by Google) Starting with the reception from Dona Solange, which was wonderful. The waterfalls, Vale and Boia Cross, when I arrived at the waterfall in the cave I felt extremely connected to nature. It was an incredible experience. You can feel something mystical about the place, and I don't really believe in these things. It was simply amazing. You can go in a low-lying car without any problems. Take enough water and food for the day, all the sections are short, they are not long trails.

(Translated by Google) It is located on private property and can be accessed via a trail of about 6 km by car. Regular cars can easily pass through, but drivers need to be very careful. The entrance fee to the waterfalls and beaches is 20 reais per person, and the Boia Cross is 80 reais. I only went to the waterfalls and beaches. The farthest waterfalls are via an 850m trail. All of them are easy to climb, except for the last waterfall, which is a bit more demanding because it is on top of a hill. There are 3 beautiful waterfalls, and it is worth visiting, especially the one at the top of the hill. The view is breathtaking. You can swim in all of the waterfalls, and getting into the water is relatively easy if you are careful when stepping on the sharp rocks. Near the reception, there is a tank formed by the river water. For those who like a little adventure, it is a good place to spend the day, but be careful when you get hungry, as they only sell drinks.

(Translated by Google) It was the worst waterfall experience we've ever had in the region. No one warned us about the construction, so we had to leave our car at the top and walk about 1.5 to 2 km to the reception, through dust and without any support structures. The waterfalls have no pictures or adequate signage, and the rocks are slippery and difficult to walk on. We expected something much better and left quite disappointed.
