An historic place, anchored by a Catholic Cathedral that looks to be several hundred years old, Huancayo is a busy little city in Northern Peru. The elevation is more than 10,000 meters, over two miles in elevation. Coming from sea level, I couldn't catch my breath. Very worth experiencing.

The park and church had a big fence with tarp around it. Not able to enter or see much. The locals say it has been under repair for 6 months. Wish we had a chance to see it at its glory.

Great views from the top, if your tall watch your head as there are some low points on the climb up. The stall owner at the front had a dune Buggy that you can take for a quick spin around the statue for only 15 soles.
