An amazing view of the iconic Torres mountain, with an easy hike (1 - 1.5 hours or less to the lake round trip). It gets extremely windy so be careful, bring walking poles to steady yourself and wear a windbreaker. You can drive right up to the trailhead with lots of parking.
Amazing views from my tvs screen saver! P.S. would love to go.......please take me!
Nordenskjöld Lake in Torres del Paine National Park is a spectacular destination that showcases the very best of Chilean Patagonia. The lake’s vibrant turquoise color, created by glacial meltwater and suspended mineral “flour,” is truly mesmerizing and stands out dramatically against the rugged peaks of the Paine Massif—especially the iconic Cuernos del Paine. The views here are postcard-perfect and ideal for photography, particularly at sunrise or sunset when the light enhances the landscape’s natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities around Nordenskjöld Lake, including hiking along well-marked trails, wildlife watching, and even kayaking on the lake’s pristine waters. The famous W Trek passes right along the lake’s edge, offering trekkers unforgettable panoramas and the chance to spot native animals like guanacos and condors. There are several viewpoints, such as the Mirador Cuernos, where you can take in sweeping vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains. The weather can be unpredictable, with strong Patagonian winds adding to the sense of adventure—sometimes you can even see waterspouts dancing across the lake’s surface. Despite the wild conditions, the area is accessible year-round, and the trails are suitable for most fitness levels. Overall, Nordenskjöld Lake is a must-visit for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone seeking the dramatic beauty and tranquility of Patagonia. Whether you come for the hiking, the wildlife, or simply to admire the scenery, you’ll leave with unforgettable memories of this magical place.
Amazing! You need to visit this place.
(Translated by Google) A quick stop because it is very easy to access. When we arrived there were 2 buses and many tourists. It is not one of the most beautiful places in the park, but if you are in a car or van you can stop quickly to admire it. (Original) Parada rápida porque é de muito fácil acesso. Quando chegamos haviam 2 ônibus e muitos turistas. Não é um dos lugares mais lindos do parque, mas se você estiver de carro ou de van dá para parar rapidamente pra contemplar.

The trail name is Miranda Cuernos, or Cuernos Lookout in English. It's 4.15 miles long in my Alltrails record, elevation 673 ft, so it's relatively easy, but prepare your trekking poles in case. The scenery along the trail is amazing, lake, waterfalls, I can compare it to Mt Ranier at Washington, but not much animals around. At the trail end its snow capped Torres and blue Nordenskjold lake underneath, just enjoy pure tranquility of nature.
(Translated by Google) It's surreal, I would really do this trek again to go through that beautiful, tempting little beach! Makes you want to bathe hahaha (Original) Es que es surreal, realmente volvería a hacer este trekking para pasar por esa playita hermosa, tienta! Dan ganas de bañarse jajajajaj

Super easy hike. I stopped here on my way to Mirador Cuernos. The waterfall is really pretty even tho the viewpoint could be a little crowded since it’s a popular and easy spot to reach.
Short walk to see a beautiful waterfall and nice mountain views. Continue on for Mirador los Cuernos.
One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to! I took a tour from Calafate, Argentina to Torres del Paine in Chile! (A bit long trip, but totally worth it!) I was around January 1st! Awesome experience!
A must-visit trail to see picturesque views of the waterfalls, the lake, the magnanimous mountains filled with glaciers. Also, the hike isn’t that difficult but beware and be prepared of the strong, really strong winds!
This powerful waterfall of crystalline blue water is visible after just a few minutes easy walk from the parking area. Beautiful! Keep a firm grip on the hands of your little ones. The wind was calm on the way in and as we continued to the next mirador, but it was crazy strong on our way back an hour later. Expect busloads of visitors; it’s worth it because it’s lovely and easy.
Beautiful! Beware that if can be very windy! Photos taken early June 2025
Short hike. 4hrs total in & out. Patagonian Wind was mild. It rained for a short while. We went there Spring time.( November) The Cuernos & the lake looks sooo amazing. The short hike was very worth it.
Mirador Salto Grande is an absolute must-visit in Torres del Paine. The viewpoint offers breathtaking scenery where the powerful Salto Grande waterfall connects Lago Nordenskjöld and Lago Pehoé. The sound of rushing water, the turquoise lakes, and the dramatic mountain backdrop make it an unforgettable spot for photography and reflection. The short trail to the mirador is easy and accessible, making it perfect for visitors of all ages. On clear days, you can enjoy stunning views of the Paine Massif, and even on windy or cloudy days, the raw beauty of nature here is awe-inspiring. What I loved most was how the viewpoint captures both the energy of the waterfall and the peacefulness of the surrounding landscape. It’s a place that truly embodies the magic of Patagonia. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Torres del Paine—don’t miss this natural wonder! 🌿✨

A beautiful drive with lots of wildlife. Past the Paine Waterfall we were very fortunate to see a very large herd of Guanaco and not 50 meters from us a large Puma. The people at the campground restaurant are very kind and helpful. Beautiful, easy lake hike.
Beautiful drive to Laguna azul, such a serene part of TDP
Another absolute must-see. In May the area is super quite but also absolutely beautiful. There are llamas and birds around.
(Translated by Google) Excellent views. It is worth taking the Sierra Masle circular trail and walking a little along the lake. You must go to mirador pehoe, an hidden gem !!! It’s around 3,5km from camping paine grande (leave your bags there). Easy hike and AMAZING view at the end. I don’t understand why it’s not popular, it’s was one of our favorite viewpoint in all our 5 days in this park.
“PEHOE” at Torres Del Paine (TDP). Absolutely stunning views & turquoise water with snow mountains reflecting its beauty on the water surface. This seems like a dream & a must visit.
Wow, the most beautiful turquoise water I have ever seen! You should definately pass by, or go with the tour to watch the colours of this lake!
One of the most beautiful spots in parque. It is an excellent spot for camping in summer, and even in winter it is magic. Must see!
Beautiful blue glacial lake. There are some campsites around the lake with an amazing backdrop of the mountains.
Marvelous patagonian lake near Torres del Paine. Dazzling blue waters from the glaciers melting. You can take a ride on the boat that goes to the refuge near the mountains. Great scenic place. Visiting is highly recommended.

I'm still giving this 5 stars, but this hike was fairly challenging due to the rain and snow at the top. Recommend leaving extremely early if you want a good view of the towers, because the day we went, it was extremely cloudy and snowy. It was freezing at the top and we were already soaked from the rain, and the last mile or so is particularly tumultuous. Still would recommend as the hike is beautiful, but I wish we would have gotten a better view of the torres.
Worthwhile hike to an amazing viewpoint. When you arrive go down to some of the larger rocks by the waters edge for a peaceful viewpoint. It gets steep and you may be scrambling over rocks at points. Tip - stop the night at Chilean Refugio to try and go over two days to give best opportunity to view towers - afternoon you arrive and morning you leave
Wow what a hike! We started on the trial at 6am. We are so happy we did because when we got to the top, there was very few people. It’s a gnarly day hike of 13 miles and 4500 feet of elevation but we enjoyed every second of it. Took about 7 hours total with 30 min break at the top!
The trek is quite long and difficult at the end. Both ways with some stops for food and drinks you will need a good 8 hours. But it is worth it. Beautiful views on the way. But it is often very windy, and temperature can change quickly, so make sure you wear layers of clothes to easily take them off and put them on again. Also be sure to bring something waterproof - fast changing weather can surprise you.
Had a clear weather for this hike, last one mile is steep slope and it’s get difficult to hike. But the views were stunning, we completed this in around 6.5-7 hours with 30 minutes of lunch time at the top. Start off early for this hike, as we were returning it was crowded
Easily the highlight of the trip to Chile! Just incredible. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET UP TO THE TOP WELL BEFORE 3pm, the path closes at 3 to the view point - otherwise you’ll have to come and do it again.
It was a tough hike considering the distance and elevation. Reduce pace to make the hike easier was an option for those who had the time n visit during summer. The view was breathtaking!! Love every bit of it.
Stunning scenery! The view was amazing. The trail is quite difficult. We spent 9 hours for return hike, and the last part was very steep. But it’s definitely worth it! No ranger was there due the strike, however the trail keeps open and no issue when we passed.

Spectacular view. Took us 8h including sandwich stop at the top for lunch + picture stops + toilet stop at Chileno. The first quarter was flat and a good warm up, followed by quite a continuous rocky ascending which leads you to the Chileno. There you can go to toilet for 2000 and refill the water for free. The water tastes amazing. The 3rd quarter is a beautiful gentle uphill in the forest before the last ascent which is quite demanding.
We visited the area twice during our stay, and each experience was quite different. The first time, we went for a full day of hiking and crossed several beautiful trails. The landscapes were stunning, with wide open views, peaceful nature, and a real sense of being in the heart of Patagonia. It was a long but rewarding day, and we really enjoyed exploring the paths and taking in the scenery. We returned a second time with the goal of seeing the glacier. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side that day. It was cloudy, windy, and visibility was very poor, so we never got the chance to actually see the glacier. It was a bit disappointing, but that’s part of the experience in this region, nature and weather can change so quickly. Overall, it’s a magnificent place that offers amazing landscapes and great hiking opportunities. Just keep in mind that the weather can strongly affect what you’re able to see, especially if you plan to visit the glacier. On a clear day, it must be absolutely spectacular.
One of the best destinations of my life. The mountains range is so magnificent and beautiful nature. The variety of nature is charming. The perfect place to do hiking in different levels of difficulty. Only one thing that you have to consider is the strong and aggressive wind shear up the hills. My car had been hit by strong wind with the rocks.we have to drove back to town without the window glass.
Torres del Paine National Park is also translated as the Blue Tower National Park. The park is surrounded by azure glacial fjords and lakes, and located in southern Chile. The main attractions in the national park are: Las Torres, Los Cuernos, Valle Francés, Nordenskjöld Glacier Lake, and Lago Grey & Glacier Grey where icebergs can be seen. The park is close to the South Pacific Ocean and the polar high latitudes, so the weather changes dramatically. However, whether it is a rainy day or a sunny day, the scenery in the park has its own characteristics. I really like the beautiful scenery on a sunny day, and I also like the scenery on a rainy day that makes people imagine endlessly because I had an experience in different weather.
A beautiful nature wonderland showcasing the majesty of the Andes mountains and the surrounding glaciers and waterfalls in the Southern Chile region of Patagonia
This adventure is totally overpriced and you get very low quality food for a lot of money, but the nature part of the W-Trek was amazing and very beautiful. We hiked from Central to Grey and it was a wonderful experience. The hiking itself would be more fun and enjoyable if the trails would be better maintained. The park authority is not doing a good job to keep the trails in good condition. The accommodations and food packages are totally overpriced, it’s a RIP OFF. The quality of the food at Central and Frances was really bad. For dinner (USD55 pp per day) we received watered down soup on both days. It was awful. The main course was cold by the time we had it on the table. Cold rice and cold mashed potatoes isn’t very appealing. The lunch box that we received at Central which costs about USD30-35 was a dry bun with one slice of ham and one slice of cheese. No mayo, no mustard, no lettuce, no tomatoes. A bag of nuts that had an expiration date of Jan 2025 (we were there in April 2025), and an apple. The second day we ordered vegetarian, so they put some lettuce and a slice of tomato on the dry bun. Breakfast was very simple, watered down juice that really tasted more like water than juice, white bread, a mini portion of scrambled eggs, ham and cheese. For USD30! One would expect for the $$ that they charge, you would get some energy loaded really good quality food that you need when doing the W-Trek. Except for the check-in desks and the bar, staff at Central was not friendly, actually some were really rude. After dinner they kick you out of the dining area to make space for the next shift, which I understand if the place is fully booked but this was the end of the season, half of the dinning area was empty and we still couldn’t stay there. At Frances dinner and breakfast were slightly better but the lunch box was the same 'rubber sandwich'. Staff was at least very friendly. Paine Grande and Grey had the best food (buffet style) and also the friendliest staff though the tents are very small and at Grey the tents don’t have wooden platforms. Our tent was on a slope so we constantly kept sliding into the same corner. Again, overall it was a great experience that I don't want to miss but the bitter taste of being ripped of will remain. Do your research before you book any packages with any operator. The park doesn't make it easy to book everything yourself but you can save a lot of money if you invest the research time and more importantly you don't pay a lot of money for crap food.
Torres del Paine National Park, located in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica region of southern Chile, is widely celebrated as one of the world’s most spectacular natural reserves. The park is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, marked by the iconic granite spires known as Las Torres, which rise sharply above the surrounding plains and are a magnet for trekkers and climbers. These distinctive peaks, along with the striking Cuernos del Paine-mountains with unique black and white banding-form the visual heart of the park. The geography of Torres del Paine is a study in contrasts. Snow-capped mountains tower over golden pampas, while turquoise lakes such as Pehoé and Grey reflect the jagged skyline. The park’s glacial features, especially the immense Grey Glacier, offer awe-inspiring views and opportunities for boat excursions or hikes along icy shores. Valleys like the French Valley and Ascencio Valley provide access to some of the most breathtaking vistas in Patagonia, each with its own unique geological formations and panoramic lookouts. Beyond its famous peaks and glaciers, the park is a haven for biodiversity. Visitors often encounter native wildlife including guanacos, foxes, pumas, and a variety of bird species such as the Andean condor. The lenga and ñirre forests add a lush green contrast to the otherwise rugged terrain, especially in the spring and summer months. Torres del Paine is accessible for all types of travelers. While seasoned hikers can embark on challenging multi-day treks like the W Trek or the full circuit, there are also shorter, well-marked trails and scenic viewpoints accessible by car, making the park enjoyable for families and those with limited mobility. The infrastructure within the park is well-developed, with options for guided tours, horseback riding, and all-inclusive lodges that offer comfort and convenience amid the wild surroundings. The weather in Torres del Paine is famously unpredictable, with strong winds and sudden changes in temperature, so visitors should come prepared for all conditions. Despite the sometimes harsh climate, the park’s beauty is undiminished, and each season brings its own charm-whether it’s the wildflowers of summer or the snow-dusted peaks of winter. Overall, Torres del Paine National Park stands out as a masterpiece of nature, offering visitors an unforgettable experience of Patagonia’s raw and untamed beauty. From its world-famous trekking routes to its serene lakes and abundant wildlife, the park promises adventure, tranquility, and some of the most stunning scenery on the planet.
Torres del Paine National Park was simply breathtaking. Loss of words to describe its beauty. Located in the Chilean Patagonia with its beautiful and majestic mountains, glaciers , turquoise lakes and diverse wildlife this national park makes it a nature lovers paradise. Pictures do not do justice for this stunning landscape.

What a beauty at this Laguna Amarga (TDP). Wonderful waterfalls with snow capped mountains around the Laguna and clear water from the glacier. Really beautiful and a must visit. Highly recommended

We toured the Torres del Paine area for 5 days, and this ended up being our favorite experience. Not only do you get to see another facet of the Patagonian ecosystem, you learn a lot about Patagonian history and culture. Other pluses, our guide, Antonia, gave us whiskey at lunch, and the traditional meal at the end with wine was the perfect way to wrap up a long day.
One of the best activities in Torres del Paine. A wonderful break from the crowded trails. We hiked through hills and meadows. Most of the hike was not on a trail. Harold, our guide, was more like a local showing us the land and teaching us about the real Patagonia. We got there early and after riding the van through difficult terrain, we arrived at an old baqueano post, had coffee and immediately started the walk. During the hike we did not see anybody else. We did see a group of wild horses (but far away) and lots of birds. We stopped for lunch and continued walking towards the top of a hill with a beautiful view of the Paine massif. After hiking for about 10km we had dinner at an old baqueano site that had been upgraded (nice toilets, cozy dinning area...). It was by far the best dinner we had in the Chilean Patagonia.
