What an absolute marvel this château! In impeccable state and condition, beautifully located on green grassy setting and surrounded by a moat. Featuring an impressive art collection by Henry D'Aumale née Henry D'Orléans. The interior of the château is rich in architectural and design details. The decor is out of this world too. This should be a must see when in Paris and surroundings.
It's all about wealth in a lot of these stately homes. However, the estate was handed over to be on exhibition indefinitely. Good move. The horses are well provided for in the stables. The grounds are immense and lovely to walk through. Nice patisserie outside on the way home. Train from gare du nord was quick.
Incredibly beautiful palace, absolutely worth a visit and walk through the park. We arrived quite late when the sun was already setting, which provided fantastic views, will definitely be coming back for a longer visit. There's a parking place that costs 5€, or else there are many parking places in the village
Beautiful castle only 50km from Paris. It is surrounded by water and looks amazing. The museum inside is very interesting and beautifully decorated during events. The park is not as magnificent as others but still invites for a nice walk. Definitly worth the visit! Note that your regular ticket also includes entry to the large horse stable next to the castle.
Quite simply, incredible. The vastness of the land that surrounds the Château is something else. We paid €18 P/P for entry to the Château, the garden's, and the stables. There is also a train (one of those car trains) that will drive you around the gardens for €8 and this comes with an audio tour. The grounds host some wallabies, and the driver will stop for 5 mins for a photo opportunity. The Château itself was just incredible, having been left to the French Institute by Henri D'Orleans. He was an avid art collector, and one of the conditions for leaving the property to the institute was that none of his art collection was to be removed from the walls or leave the Château at all. All the art is exactly where it was when he left it. The gardens are incredible and host a series of buildings and an exquisite pond and canal. There are 5 hamlets that sit in place (used to he 7), and you can go in there and get some Chantilly Creme made the same way it's always been made. The horse stables were incredible also. It is basically a museum now and you can catch a horse show as well in the dome of it.
Due to its location, it is very unknown to most visitors. Car is recommended for visit as public transportation is not convenient. There is some tourbus but mostly cars on site. Despite the lesser known place, it is still in high value of historical facts and massive collections. Highly recommended.
Well worth the 1 hour train from Paris 2,50 euros each way. Pay extra 6 euros to see the private apartments. This inexpensive add on was sold out and we were unable to visit this part. The grounds are spectacular and the library is jaw dropping. Plan to spend at least 1/2 the day visiting and commuting to and from.
The best chateau ever ! Best art and best swans and ducks. Wish I could live there. Gorgeous lunch and nature if you take this cute walk towards the 10min walk resto that I’ve forgotten its name (not the resto at the entrance that has many serious people who booked in advance). Have a nice cafe with chantilly and chill as you think about life

Amazing place where blend love for horses, history, riding skills and architecture. We learned so much about horses and riders. I particularly enjoy a presentation show where the rider and her horse demonstrated how do horse obey the commands of their rider. It looks so easy and it made me want to know more and have more horse riding experience. We can view riders through training their horses to do various things. Definitely something cool to do.
This was an interesting museum to visit and learn more about the horse history in the area and how it evolved overtime. I was lucky enough to see a show by the very talented riders. I am not a big horse person, but I would highly recommend the show. What they have been able to train the horses to do is incredible! My video shows so of it but does not do it justice.
The museum was decent, but I was disappointed about the ignored of the staff regarding the show, we waiting in the dome one hour to see the show, staff was there, but they don't say something that will be or not the show. I don't recommend, also we pay the ticket to see the show, and we get nothing just ignorance and the empty scene
Visiting the Horse Museum completes the experience when visiting the Chateau de Chantilly compound. Catch the show and enjoy the horses!
Interesting Museum, many things to learn about Horsing. Was a beautiful experience
Wow, very impressive, especially recommended to visit at night.
A beautiful museum dedicated to horses in a magnificent building. Don't miss the dressage or the shows if you can but be warned, there is NO numbered seating and it is chaotic trying to sit together as a family. They could organise this much better.
A one of kind equestrian museum, with live demonstrations as well as incredible static displays. You can easily spend an entire day between the museum and adjacent chateau and gardens. A short train ride from Paris.

This is a beautiful garden which includes lots of free roaming birds and other animals. We visited in October and there was a Halloween trail, which was great for the kids. A lot of effort has been put into the garden.
What I really liked about this place is the quite, the manageable small size, a good variety of birds and domestic animals but not over whelming. Easy to go around with kids, a short drive from Paris and one can always add a walk around the city to it. There's a nice canal in the city and one can either picnic or take a stroll around it.
A very pleasant experience. Beautiful gardens and birds with a nice lake to w1lk around. A must visit if you go to Chantilly. A walk away from the Castle and very close to L'Atelier de La Chantilly.
AMAZING place! We visited the Potager des Princes with our 2.5 year old daughter. The grounds are simply stunning, and the animals aplenty! This is a zoo unlike any other. There were birds, sheep, ponies, pigs, ducks and more. The rabbits live in the cutest little French village kind of houses, and many birds and ducks roam free among the land. We fell in love with this place, and hope to go back again before we leave Chantilly. :) :)
This park is an amazing place! 🤩Yes, a little expensive but it’s worth the price (at least for me). 👌
There are not words for how special this garden is, and how lovingly it is maintained. Educational and whimsical for little ones as for adults - it's truly a place out of childhood dreams, exposing reality for the magic it is. Rabbit races, theater over the lake, halloween festivities and, as I can imagine, more; we can't wait to spend time in the Potager every visit we spend in the region. The upcoming possibility to hear the music of the trees has us all waiting excitedly ! We see the groundskeeper on every visit. He is always so kind, patient and informative. Such a marvel how he maintains it all... with the help of Fuego the dog of course. Fun spot to take the kids, wide array of animals running around and some informal education with photos and names. We went to the puppet show which was very well done

A very nice course not far from the town, horse museum and the chateau
Great Experience at the Diane Races in Chantilly I visited the Hippodrome de Chantilly with my daughter for the yearly Diane races, and we had a lovely day! The event was very well organized, with smooth entry, clear signage, and helpful staff who were friendly and professional. Parking was easy and well managed, which made arriving and leaving stress-free. The atmosphere was fantastic — a beautiful setting, exciting races, and a great overall experience. The facilities were clean and well maintained, which we really appreciated during such a busy event. The only downside was the food: prices were quite high, and unfortunately the quality didn’t really match the cost. That said, it didn’t take away from what was otherwise a wonderful day out. We’re already looking forward to next year!
Unique place. Beautiful, clean
Very difficult approach by foot due to a lack of footpaths. The racecourse and facilities are good.
Lovely place! Unforgettable castle from wherever you watch it. The place has a beautiful XIX th century architecture, is very well kept, with a special atmosphere. The horse races are impressive as well as very interesting. A world I. Itself, not the easiest nor the most “man-woman equality” one … 😉 But things change as it was a woman for the first time who won the famous Prix de Diane last Sunday ! Congrats lady and thanks to the horse owner who trusted her 👏💐
It’s a great place to see horses and training!
A great day of horse racing at Prix De Diane in Chantily, France. One of the most prestigious on the flat racing calendar, an event that is the epitome of French elegance and distinction, in particular thanks to the finely dressed spectators who come from all around the world. I would highly recommend a visit here!👍

Lovely place for a picnic.!

(Translated by Google) As I stand in front of the Porte Saint-Denis in Chantilly, I am impressed by the simple yet powerful appearance of this ancient gate. It acts like a silent sentinel at the entrance to the city and bears the traces of time in its stones. The Porte Saint-Denis is not large or ostentatious, as triumphant city gates might be, but it has a special aura that gives me pause. The gate was built in the 17th century and once served as the entrance to the town of Chantilly. Although it was functional, it also has historical significance as it is linked to the long history of the castle and the city. It is simply designed, with strong, stable walls and a large arch that marks the passage. There are some subtle decorations above the arch, reminiscent of the construction of past centuries, but nothing that overshadows the practical purpose of the gate. As I walk through it, I feel the connection between past and present. Many people, carts and perhaps even royal guests must have passed this way when Chantilly was still an important place for French aristocratic life. Now it's me walking this path, but the story still resonates - in every stone that supports the arch, in every imperfection in the ancient masonry. On the other side of the gate you can see the path that leads to the Château de Chantilly. It is a path that suggests the elegance of the castle but at the same time preserves the rural atmosphere of the surrounding area. The Porte Saint-Denis almost seems like a transition - between the busy world outside and the peace and beauty that awaits behind the gate. I stand there for a moment and let my gaze wander over the gate. It has endured through the ages as the world around it has changed, and there is great strength in its simplicity. Stand : 09.08.2023

It is topped by a stone balustrade and is made up of three arcades, one of which allows car traffic. It is an unfinished construction since as an extension of the round courtyard of the riding school, it should have had the same architecture. When the prince died, the Great Stables were not completed. The Saint Denis gate, which passes above the road leading to the town of Chantilly, was initially intended to connect the existing wing to the planned one.

Delivered and collected bike from my hotel at the agreed time. I opted for a regular bike with panniers, helmet, pump, repair kit, and mobile phone holder. These are good options to have. Bike came with dynamo powered lights, mudguards, and bike stand. Bike condition was well used, but functioning 100%. I did many km, no problem. Good quality equipment throughout. If doing a lot of distance I recommend an e-bike.
We had a great time riding in Chantilly. Antoine was very accommodating and the forest was beautiful to ride through. We highly recommend it! Merci Antoine!!!
Just returned from an excellent afternoon around the Chateau de Chantilly racecourse, woods and the lake (etangs de Commelle), plus refreshments at the Creperie. Thanks to Antoine the experience was wonderful as he was kind, helpful and ensured our bikes were well equipped, rugged and ready to go. His understanding, mapping and flexibility made the tour for us as nothing was too much trouble and his customer skills, sincerity and knowledge of the area also assisted us greatly. Merci beaucoup, Antoine - keep on shining for your clients as you are a total star, mon ami. Andy and Bev.
We had a wonderful experience. Antoine was very helpful accommodating our family and getting us all setup. We had an amazing bike ride. We'll definitely be using Bobebike again if we ever need bikes in the Chantilly area.
Outstanding! Antione delivered and picked up the bikes. He supplied locks, charger, and offered us helmets. The best bicycle we have ever been on. We can't say enough! Reliable, on time, fast response to our emails from the US, as well as in person.
Perfect day out with the family. Lovely suggested secluded forest trail route on excellent bikes, stunning scenery , completely safe for all ages and abilities. Excellent mid point rest at the creperie by the lake (sold excellent Breton cidre too , so mummy and daddy happy too!) Highly recommended 👌🏻

Excellent hands on activity to do as a family when coming to Chantilly. Chantilly is a capital town of Horses in France. With one of the largest stable in the country. You will be able to enjoy nice shows and exhibitions about the equestrian culture. The activity started at 9:30 and finished at 12:30. - get the saddles from the shop - get the horses located 15’ away walking and come back with them. ( the walk is lovely between canals and forest, it may vary depending on the location of the horses) - clean and prepare them, wherever I have been, wether it is the most expensive or cheap doesn’t matter. You should prepare your horse yourself. It gives you and the horse time to know each other, expect to do chores) - ride around the forest/ city and castle - drop the saddle and free the horses, you don’t need to carry the saddles back to the shop. At the very end, we didn’t need to take the saddles back to the shop. My 8yo daughter loved it. I cannot recommend it enough if you are looking for a peaceful activity. The 2nd most beautiful part after the castles is the moment you set the horses free to the pasture and feel their enjoyment. My daughter was in such a contemplation. To make the experience better: -Bring you own bottles of water in a little back pack, as no water will be provided nor sold. - go to bathroom before hand, because no bathroom during 3 hours - be prepared for the weather sunscreen or rain jacket
We took a lovely walk around the chateaux. The horses were safe and well cared for. Clementine was knowledgeable of the area and gave us a running commentary of the sites. The horses were well mannered and. Followed each other. They are ridden in bit less bridles and have nylon rope reins for easy holding and cleaning.
Giving this review 2 stars instead of 1 only because the ride itself and the horses were lovely. Well mannered horses that were well cared for. Pretty ride and experience. However, the service was 1/10 so terrible. It started when we arrived at 1:15pm for our 2pm ride. We obviously knew we wouldn't be riding 45 mins early but we wanted to make sure we knew where we were going and if we needed to do anything in particular before the start time. When we walked in, the middle aged brunette woman who I assume runs the show, rudely told us we were way too early and to come back later. Fine, we expected something to that extent. We came back at 2:00 to be guided by Catherine. At first we were pleased with her and even though she didn't know English we understood what she was referring to. We had to go out and catch/tack up our own horses which I didn't mind but for what the cost of the ride was, we kind of expected the horses to be ready. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the extra time with the horses and after tacking up we were on our way. My mom and I were in the back of the group, probably so Catherine could talk with the other couple who spoke French, but again this wasn't a huge deal. At the end of our ride, we untacked and expected to turn the horses loose where we caught them from and where we tacked up. We were very wrong. Catherine guided us all on foot, UPHILL for about 12-15 minutes to where the horses were to be turned out. This was pretty shocking as it's not expected for someone paying for a ride to do barn chores but we did as we were told. We walked back to the meeting place, expecting to hand off the horses halters and be on our way. Wrong again. It was 45 degrees and we were wearing thin leather boots that they provided to us and we were freezing. Catherine made us all walk down to carry our extremely heavy saddle and proceed to walk an additional block to drop them off at their facility. One additional rude cherry on top was that my mom who is 65 years old and on the frailer side, dropped the girth that she was carrying with the saddle. At first we didn't notice and Catherine turned around pointing and yelling for us to pick it up. At that point, we barely could hold the saddles so we walked all the way to the drop off point and then my mom walked all the way back to pick up the girth. Great horses and fun time but WORST experience with the guide. We should have been paid for our day of work at the stables.
The horses were lovely, and we were blessed with beautiful weather. Unfortunately, our guide was not friendly or helpful. As a French-speaker, I tried to engage with her, and was able to make some small-talk, however when I expressed the need to adjust my stirrups, she pretended she couldn't understand me, and just kept riding. For the Passion Ride, the website says you must be able to trot and canter, but we were galloping. With 10+ years experience of regular riding, I am not in a discipline that requires galloping, so this was quite scary. Additionally, the horse I was riding threw his head while galloping. When I asked Clémentine to slow down, she just said "no" and told me to go to the back of the group. She continued galloping, while I was now at the back with the horse throwing its head and me just trying to stay on. Unfortunately this really took the enjoyment out of the ride. Be aware as well, you spend most of the time walking to get the horses from the paddock (including through ankle-deep water and mud), and walking to the castle grounds. Once in the castle grounds, you gallop, then leave having barely seen the castle or the grounds.
most unique and fabulous activity you would do
In the beginning they told me I can't take my small backpack (on a walking tour?!), so I couldn't take my phone with me, but they promised to take pictures of me. I shouldn't have believed them! In the advertisement there are beautiful pics, but it is not what you will have. What I got in the end was a few bad pics against the sunlight and some random parts of a building or castle... And the last few places the group leader just said "NO!" when I asked for a photo!😳 I went there for the beautiful castle and lanscape, and all I got was me and other random riders on a photo with some building in the corner... The environment is safe though and the horses are well-behaving and nice.
Really nice instructor who speaks perfect English! Had a really nice afternoon!

Do you have any archives on the life and history of the lacemakers of this era who crafted these works? (Translated by Google) The Chantilly-Senlis Tourist Office, Chantilly office, is an excellent starting point for exploring the city. I really like this city, and the Tourist Office really helps you discover all its facets. An essential service for tourists and even locals who want to rediscover their heritage. I accompany my review with photos of the city I took 😊 (Original) L'Office de Tourisme de Chantilly-Senlis, bureau de Chantilly, est un excellent point de départ pour explorer la ville. (Translated by Google) A friendly, lively city where there is no shortage of restaurants and events and monuments beyond the splendid. BUT ! Given that we are in the City of the Horse and all that surrounds it, I find it very regrettable not to find a souvenir store bearing the image of the city, its castle and its large stables, its racecourse. Impossible to bring back a souvenir of this city if it is only vulgar mugs stamped "Chantilly" or saddle rugs "Château de Chantilly, Institut de France" vulgarly embroidered and at exorbitant prices. If the tourist office could make an effort in terms of promotional items it would be nice for ordinary tourists and horse lovers alike. In any case, very beautiful city.

(Translated by Google) It is difficult to give an opinion on a closed tourist office...! Eager to visit Chantilly, we went there to get information about this town, what a surprise to find the door closed on a Saturday morning, when there were a lot of people in the streets at the start of the school holidays. A touch screen allowed us to identify a few places to visit, we would have preferred to have access to this establishment.

We had an incredible experience on our ride through the Chantilly forests. The staff were great, the forest was beautiful and the horses were brilliant and easy to handle. I can’t wait to come back here!
I booked this ride through Getyourguide.com and it was exactly as described. The horses were well mannered. Most of them wore muzzles to keep them from grazing. There was a guide at the front and rear of the group. My daughter and I are experienced riders but there were beginners in our group. We mostly walked. When we trotted, the beginners bounced all around and one fell off their horse. We did see one deer. The ride was through the beautiful forest and it was relaxing. The price was fair and the experience was good.
Really bad experience at this center. First, when arriving, they did not even welcome us nor introduce themselves .. just asked for our money. Then, they have a really bad system where you all hop on your horse and then the horses all automatically go drink in this one small basket. Clearly it got crowded. A horse, who did not find its spot, aggressively turned around and kicked my horse. I (experienced rider) did not expect this at all and fell and the horse walked on me… The instructor did not even come to comfort me. Unbelievable. Thank god there was one nice other girl working there but for the rest, 0 stars.
riding horses in the heart of forest It’s was amazing experience The staff was extremely nice Our guide was also very friendly and caring I highly recommend it
We visited with our two young daughters and although we were a little apprehensive about the youngest riding by herself our instructor held the reins of her horse the entire time and we always felt she was safe. Our instructor was very friendly and ensured we were all ok throughout the ride. We had a great time, horses are their new favourite animals :)
The horses are crazy and the people irresponsible. I am almost died with a horse starting running without control and the trainer not assisting. I had to jump off it while it was running at 30km/hr. Thank god I did not hurt myself. A partial refund was provided but it is not enough to justify the complete lack of risk management on the side of the trainers which were two 15-20 year old girls. How can they let inexperienced people, having informed them that it was the first time riding a horse in their life, to run alone with uncontrollable horses?
Great service amazing horse ride ! I miss DiDi already !
Good people, good horses, good experience..in the middle of the nature! 🌱🌾🐎✔️
