This long-running, 37-acre zoo offers a petting barn & guided tours, plus a playground & BBQ grills.

Lots of cute animals strolling around the place. They have also guided tour every half an hour. The guides are friendly and helpful. The food is more of the same, it has a restaurant and a snack shop. Both serve about the same food. But it has a decent meal if you want to have lunch. The more dangerous animals are well behaved and very well treated. They are not abused.
Very average. Can no longer touch tigers and lions. Plus can't ride elephants or camels like you used to be able to. Gets 2 stars because the birds were very interesting and great experience, plus we stroked the camel and snake. The ground were poorly kept and animals were very sleepy. Very disappointed ☹️
For my kids it's great because they can touch and be up close to the animals, nice area to bring your own picnic also.
Contrary to the idea, the zoo is not a huge one... But the best thing about it is you can take pictures with tigers and Lions and can touch and feed other animals too... Overall a great experience indeed.
This is a very special place. Please note, it’s a short drive outside of the city and the other are purely ground. Unique experience in many ways. Argentinians get charged less, but remember, foreigners don’t pay 21% taxes when traveling within the country, so I would stop complaining.
Absolutely amazing zoo, one of the only zoos in the world that lets you enter the cages! Genuine pics... They have a huge collection of both South American and African animals, and you can get closer than anywhere else.
Animals do not seem to be well treated. Those that you can play look dumb and lazy (maybe doped). In general, the zoo is not in good shape. If you are planning to go to Buenos Aires, consider visiting the Temaiken Zoo.
I liked the place and the contacts with the animals... I thnink some of the places should be improved

Well-known zoo with a variety of animals & attractions such as an aquarium & a 360-degree theater.

My favorite zoo in the world!! love it so much the bad reviews are insane! beautiful love all the exhibits walkways design it’s gorgeous! The tigers habitat is massive love the white tigers and cheetahs and pumas it’s amazing! highly recommend great for photos! open lush spaces where you see animals not bars and ugly cages! can’t wait to come back again!
The collection's design, encompassing avian, animal, and marine life exhibits, was truly exceptional. However, the $125 admission fee for two adults and one child was excessive, necessitating a four-star rating instead of five.
I really enjoyed this park! We bought tickets one day before through the internet (check promotions, there are many good offers). The territory of the park is big and there are many things to see. It feels like animals have good conditions and bigger spaces than in regular zoos. You can see some rare animals here, for example, bengal tigers, yaguarete, pumas. There are many food zones, toilets and playgrounds around the park. The only disturbing moment is people, which don’t follow the rules and don’t respect animals or other guests. Smoking, taking pictures with flash, screaming and climbing in prohibited areas - such a shame.
Beautiful place and animals, but there's still work to do. Some of the enclosures are missing the name of the animals and the park needs more cleaning. A park that looks abandoned is not a good park. It also needs some paint on the buildings thru the park. The employees are very nice overall and they have good security. The animals are amazing and unique! A clean park and good service will bring many more tourists from all over the countries!
We bought tickets in advance. Take a look at their website because there are a lot of promotional discounts. I'd suggest to get both tickets and parking in advance. The park is very tidy and taken care of. Animals have a lot of space to move 'freely' (well, yeap, this is a grey issue). The aquarium is very good! Lots of species, including sharks. The Bengal tigers were definitely my favorite. There are 2 of them and it is very fun to see them interact. You can also see flamingos, monkeys, pelicans, ostriches, lemurs, bats, pumas, and lots of other species. There are a variety of food places all across the park. Although there is a sign that you should not go in with food or beverages, no one controls anything. Moreover, pretty much everyone goes in with food and beverages. The whole visit may take between 3 and 5 hours, depending on your own regulation of speed (and lunch) Bathrooms are OK. Overall, it was a very fine day and experience. I'd recommend it, especially with children.
Spent there my sons birthday with family. Great experience. Very beautiful. Very inconvenient that the tickets can be purchased only online or by card. Cash is not accepted. And only fast food available in the park, so better take healthy snacks for kids with you.
It's a really nice zoo. Animals are well treated here and it usually has foundations that fight against animal trafficking. Some animals here are saved from this traffic. The bird park beside is also an excellent place to check out. It has several activities and is really worth visiting. Great for kids!!
We are animal lovers and quite critical about some zoos. After visiting most of them in the US and Europe, I must say we were very impressed with Tamiken. Everything looks great - from the sign when entering to the animals enclosures. We found the animals to be happy and active. They have large spaces to roam and be as close to nature as possible. The park itself is amazing, so nice and the themes and explanations are the best we ever saw. Very recommended!

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Expansive place of worship with room for 7,000 people, with an underground museum & guided tours.
Slide 1 of 8
The La Plata Cathedral is impressive from the outside. It is very tall, and you can see the entire building clearly from the plaza in front of it. Across the plaza, the municipal building adds to the overall atmosphere of the area. Inside, the dome is very high up and magnificently decorated. One thing that really stood out was the confession boxes. The woodwork there is very detailed and intricate. We have not seen anything like it before in a cathedral. There are also many colourful stained glass windows that are beautifully decorated. Overall, the cathedral is grand and welcoming. It is definitely worth a visit when you are in La Plata.
The catedral is really nice and is open for everybody. If you want to visit the museo and the tower it costs 10$ per adult. The museum is underneath the church and they even have a small gift shop. The fime when I visited only the Jesus tower was open for visitors. You can go to two floors. With an elevator where a guy tells you important historical facts about the Catedral de la Plata. The view from the top floor over La Plata is nice.
Very beautiful church - really huge and located in a nice area of La Plata. Visitors should definitely add this as number 1 priority if they are visiting the city. Both the internal and external areas are incredible and the church js located jn a very nice area, with a park and lots of people.
Worth your visit to La Plata. To sit down and enjoy the silence. Enjoy beautiful architecture.
This cathedral is beautiful and worth touring. Don't forget about the museum and crypt either. It's amazing detail is just stunning to see in person. Photos do not do it justice.
such a historical and beautiful place to visit. I highly recommend to go into the museum and to use the elevator that shows you such a great view from the top of the catedral
Outstanding beautiful cathedral. Totally worth the visit
You don't expect this kind of architecture in South America and you definitely don't expect a Cathedral with this level of detail to be made of brick. The design was incredible and the history behind the building is unique as well. The interior is just as grand as the exterior and has a holy aura to it. Definitely worth stopping in for a minimum of 30 minutes. The stain glass alone is worth it

Fishing pier
Historic Walking Areas
Port packed with fishing boats, lined with seafood shacks & popular for sea lion spotting.
Slide 1 of 8
It is always beautiful, doesn't matter the season. You can see the fishermen working and the sealions having the time of their lives! There's also a street mall where you can buy souvenirs and support local vendors. Nearby there is a commercial center with different restaurants all owned by local familiels
Beautiful fishing port. Love to see the sea lions shining themselves. Nice little shopping area with great markets and restaurants.
Everything was OK only two incidents one on the beach almost got jumped by four people and then we took a guide or a taxi chauffeur and we found out later. He ripped us off large but lotta fun. Go to the SeaWorld enjoy it.
Love Mar del Plata, a beautiful place to visit and take wonderful pictures
This was a pleasant surprise to see the sea lions up so close. There were restaurants there but we didn't partake.
Beautiful spot great for that perfect picture shot. And the sea lions on point chilling.
Not the most beautiful dock I have ever been to, but still pretty nice. Located in the south part of mar del plata it can be reached by many public buses or walked along. Many old ships and history, boat trips, stores and especially the sea wolves are its main attractions. Be aware of the nasty smell though, especially on windy days!
It is a good place, quiet, with enough people if you go in high season. You must be able to withstand the smell of sea lion, it is quite strong. There are also small shops where you can sit down to eat or buy to go, they sell a lot of fish, all kinds, and other aquatic animals. If you don't like fish, there are also foods without it in the different places of fast food.

The chairlift costs $9000 peso which isn't really worth the price. There's a small artificial forest in the above station, a coffee shop and a very small area of grass where you can enjoy the sunshine. Nothing else. Everywhere is protected by the wire fence. I suppose there are better places to enjoy such views or nature in the surrounding area. The circle of the rock takes 10 min no more.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful place! Truly a natural beauty. There are chairlifts to go up, but we didn't take them; the rock is to the right of the place! I don't know what's up there. We actually went to see the rock. The size of the rock in that position is spectacular. I recommend it as an activity. It's also easy to get to, and there's not much of a trail. (Original) Hermoso lugar!
(Translated by Google) Beautiful park, well-marked and easy-to-navigate trails. At the foot of the hill, there are various areas where you can relax, enjoy mate, appreciate nature, and unwind. There's a playground for children, it's a safe place, and the restrooms are clean. Highly recommended, we'll be back! There are different trails to climb the hill, and even a chairlift. (Original) Hermoso parque, circuitos bien demarcados, transitables.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful place, but no investment. Old and poorly maintained. The chairs were closed and looked like they were from the 1960s. It's a shame because it's in a prime location. (Original) Hermoso lugar pero sin inversión. Antiguo y sin mantenimiento. Las sillas estaban cerradas y parecen de 1960. Una pena porque está en un lugar privilegiado
(Translated by Google) A nice place to spend some time. There's a free outdoor parking lot. You can walk around the base. If you want to reach the summit, you absolutely must take the chairlift. This costs $10,000 pesos per person. You ascend 60 meters and the ride takes 8 minutes. At the top, there's a rest stop, and you can take a short (20-minute) hike that ends in a small forest. The views from the chairlift are beautiful.

Water & Amusement Parks
Playful destination offering thrill rides such as rollercoasters, plus musical performances.
Slide 1 of 8
Worth getting the fast pass to skip lines. They have some pretty unique and cool rides.
Very good park with great attractions. The price is very honest and the location is perfect. The roller coaster 🎢 are so much good.
Fun Day! Food isn't allowed inside but you can keep it as there's locker facility is available. Rides were super fun. It was sunny day and water sprinklers were saviors!! There was waiting line at the entrance but it was fast so it takes usually like 10 mins.
It's a good place for kids to play all different games and activities. Teenagers can enjoy their time. In Tigre, the boat ride experience is good. And a lot shopping stolls.
What an absolute joke of a place. First of all: tickets are sold online & in person on the day. They have a functional website listing all their promotions & out of services rides. We traveled to the park on a Sunday 28/09/2025, 4 adults & 1 child, they had 3 rides out of order but the tickets to enter remained full price, supposedly they had a 3x2 tickets offer, which is an absolute joke as well- we paid for this promotion $65,600 ARG PESO cash for 2 adults & 1 child, their website states that the individual passport normally cost $28,700 plus service fee of roughly $6000 arg peso Long queue to purchase tickets, longer queue to enter & have your bags inspected as food & drinks are not permitted, you queue minimum of 90minutes to 2hrs for each game. We entered at 12pm & existed at 7pm but only managed to ride TWO games only, what an absolute joke & scam of locals hard earn money but also a sour taste for the tourist too (like myself) Different options available for food & drinks inside however all OVERPRICED & poor quality such as the empanadas we purchased- they listed a promotion of 3 empanadas plus 1 drink for $9500 ARG peso - total scam again! Toilets were clean & well maintained. Parking is available on the streets or paid parking too.
Cool place where you can have a lot of fun. I mean, maybe you’ll need a couple beers if you’re afraid of heights. Not so crowded.
A complete rip off! Main attractions have min 2h queue… average 2h 30min, up to 3h. Throwing money out of the window would be more fun.
The time stood still here. Outdated theme park from the 90’s. You see a lack of maintenance. During our visit often an attraction stopped working. The park clearly needs to be renovated. Waiting lines were ok, but the variety in attractions is sad. Not a theme park as you would expect. Restaurant is a throwback to the 80’s. Considering that the entrance ticket is expensive, you should expect more or at least a good maintenance.

Basilica
Sights & Landmarks
Massive Catholic church with dramatic gothic architecture, statuary & a religious gift shop.
Slide 1 of 8
A simply stunning basilica. It’s is so super clean and so beautiful inside. Tons of vendors outside but they are not going to bug you. The restaurants close to the basilica are super good, a bit high costs. If you can venture further out you should. If you drive parking is easy and ample. You pay with an app.
Amazing Place, very peacefull!
A very impressive place of worship, with a huge collection of Madonna-statues. You will be surrounded there by gift shops and restaurants that are not that heavenly, but that is the location. If you decide to calm down in the cathedral and pray, you will find out that it is a special place, despite all the marketing. In Argentina, catholicism is lived in an open, joyful manner. Give yourself the time needed to watch, listen, and to appreciate.
Amazing experience, better go on weekend and visit a gaucho centre in the neighbouring city
The Basilica del Juan in Argentina is a breathtaking architectural marvel, seamlessly blending Gothic and Romanesque influences. Its intricate facade and towering spires captivate visitors, while the interior’s ornate details and religious art evoke a sense of reverence. The basilica’s historical significance and stunning design make it a must-visit destination for those exploring Argentina’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
We are always admire the churches wealth and deciration but than a novel from Umberto Ecco come to my mind and I realize how they collected all the gold
Beautiful place. They need to put up sign if the museum is close. They needs more trees. Lots of garbage on the floor.
Well...Nuestra Señora de Lujan. The Basilica..the Biggest and most Important ..can I say 100 % in Argentina..it's really Worthy to know about the Place..I really recommend it..The area it's so Safe. And Clean..the Vendors..are so Friendly..and you can find just around the corner .. Entertainment for Adults and Children

Excellent place to come have a light bite, coffee was decent and orange juice was fresh and large
Merienda: late afternoon tea time with friends. The location is really nice as it is right next to the ocean. You have seatings inside or outside, but it could get a bit chilly when the Sun is not out. Probably much warmer in the Summer which is a few weeks away… We ordered a latte, 2 hot chocolate (submarino which is way better than the regular hot chocolate made with powder!), an apple crumble, a medialuna and 2 medialunas with ham and cheese. My favorite is definitely the “submarino” which you should try while in town. The service was standard, however the downside of this place is the acoustics… not over crowded, but real noisy! Not very pleasant to have to raise your voice to chat with your friends or family. If you take a walk along the beach and need a quick stop then it is ok, but I would not plan to stay and enjoy the view because of the noise level…
Super tasty fish and honestly the best calamari rings I’ve had. It is a bit pricey, especially since they don’t give you bread or any starters, but the cover charge is included. Still worth going.
Excellent place for a merienda, with plenty of options and delicious food and coffee. The service was quick and efficient, and the place is quiet, fresh and has great views. Highly recommended in Mar del Plata.
Overprice for the view. Food is bad. Bread is hard. Burger medallion is dry. Pasta is old. Tables are dirty, a waiter is slow.
Lovely setting. Food of high quality. Great service!
The cafe has a great seaview and it really brings the atmosphere. Coffee was average and the service also. Tranqi😂
The service is impeccable. Great atmosphere with a beautiful view. The food, however, was average. Steak was bland, and still raw and hard to cut. I suggest they also serve the bread hot. The sauces were good. The prices are expensive even for foreigners.

Museum
Children's Museums
Major museum of anthropology, geology, zoology, palaeontology & botany in a Neo-classical building.
Slide 1 of 8
We spent 4 1/2 hours exploring this museum. It was absolutely amazing. I would say this is a must do if visiting La Plata.
The museum boasts a remarkable collection. While I intended to view all exhibits, the lights were unexpectedly extinguished, and we were asked to vacate the premises. They should be allowing visitors at least 15-20 minutes to complete their exploration once they have entered an exhibit area.
Great natural history museum. Really enjoyed all of the dinosaurs and fossils. The geological exhibits were also very impressive.
Awesome museum! Cheap to enter and full of wonderful exhibits including fossils, animals, plants and rocks! Staff were friendly too! Would recommend visiting if you get the chance. It's about an hour on the train from Buenos Aires so it can be a trek but its worth it.
Amazing museum, but a complete pain to reach (assume 2 hours from Buenos Aires) Definitely a rival to the natural history museum in London! It is on thr small size, but well worth a visit
This museum allows you to learn about the local fauna now and in the past, through fossils and skeletons. They also have objects from the originary peoples from south America. Very nice visit. I went in January 2022 and it costed 500 pesos (2-4 dollars) at the time.
Awesome. Great for kids. A fantastic old school museum in a gorgeous building, more dinosaur bones and animal skeletons and taxidermy animals than anyone would ever need. Upstairs has more modern interactive exhibits, but the first floor is why you come. Truly a world class collection of dinosaurs on display. If you have kids, this will be the highlight of their week.
Interesting museum with a huge selection of artefacts of the pre civilization, animal world, Egypt, Inka empire and much more. The museum is really traditional but therefore quiet old fashioned. Price was cheap, inside is also a small cafe place to rest.

Spacious, waterfront market featuring a wide selection of handicrafts, home goods & souvenirs.
Slide 1 of 8
This is a very beautiful place with lots of stuff available for tourists. Unfortunately it rained all day when I visited. There are lots fun stuff you can do nearby at the park.
We stopped by the semi open air market place / shopping mall on our way to a tour of the Tigre Delta. There were one or two interesting shops with things we could never pack, but in general, our idea of touring doesn't involve any shopping so this was not a highlight for us. For others on the tour, it was like a shoppers paradise with all sorts of touristy things. We enjoyed walking around and looking at the working ships at the docks.
It is a very nice local attraction for a day trip from Buenos Aires, my friend and I really enjoyed the river cruise and the local cuisine and coffeehouses! Cheers!
Sept.25: We wanted to visit the fruit market (Tuesday), unfortunately everything was closed. Seemed only open Thursday till Sunday, Monday to Wednesday closed.
Cool but I expected more. Its insanely big and lively BUT the variety is awful I felt like I kept walking past the same shop just branded differently. Plus it was hard to find local artisanal shops.. most seemed to sell imported goods.. which is not what I was looking for. However I would still give it a chance as it is very unique and pretty since its along the river ! BTW book a boat tour of the surrounding area its very interesting and relaxing (:
The Puerto de Frutos in the Tigre area of Buenos Aires is an amazing destination to explore local culture and art. This market is filled with intriguing shops offering handmade and local products, such as art, food, handcrafted decor items, and much more. The atmosphere is notably lively and vibrant, with the colorful market attracting both locals and travelers. It's a place to wander, discover unique pieces, and feel the authentic vibe of the region. Whether you're looking for gifts or simply embarking on an adventurous discovery, the Puerto de Frutos provides a distinct experience that mirrors the cultural diversity of the area.
Nice place with several options for shopping (home decoration, clothes, etc.). This is one the highlights when visiting Tigre and jt is also very close to the Casino, so visitors can do both attractions in sequence. It was busy when I was there, but nothing out of normality so it was pretty enjoyable. If you want to pay less for food though, go somewhere else nearby.
Very nice market with rich history. Its perfect for a day trip from Buenos Aires. I enjoyed it with a couple of friends, browsing through the nice little shops and enjoying a boat trip on the river. There is also a rollercoadter park and a museum close by that you could check out in one go. 😊

Beautiful place specially to celebrate Easter. Since 1943 the Stages of the Cross are represented along the way from the bottom till the top, where a big cross awaits. The image is breathtaking needless to say one gets very emotional. Thousands of people matching towards the cross, praying, leaving messages and prayers. The view of the city from the top is worthy. The cross is 22m tall allowing it to be spotted from almost every point of the city.
Typical touristic place in Tandil. Nice views and natural environment. Interesting place for Christians, because it has a perfect representation of Via Crucis, with sculptures from different stages.
Nice, even if your a not a christian
Nice place to walk and relax, very peaceful and spiritual
Wonderful religious place

(Translated by Google) A must if you pass through Tandil! It is an extension of land with slopes up and down, with some marked dirt roads or cement passages, a dam and the lake. I recommend going on a weekday as weekends must be very busy. You can go on a sunny day with heat or not since you have options of a lot of shade or not. You can skirt the entire lake and I recommend that you do so because the view changes. There is kayak rental, a municipal spa and a municipal sports center where you can enter the baths, also an area where there are geese and capybaras (be a good human and don't bother the animals). Very wooded area, ideal if you want to stop for a drink or rest. The lake is beautiful. Suitable for resting or training. If you walk from the center, the path is very nice.

Free to enter! It's like Disneyland, but without the lawyer infested Disney stuff. The first area is very good, with some great places for food and slushies. Big portions of food. The only downside is that the airplane simulator was absolute garbage. I paid good money to go in a box that shows low quality drone footage stitched together of the park. It's like looking at a 240p video on YouTube from 2006.
One of the best place to spend the day with children in Argentine. If you are going by car, try to arrive early, because the only one entrance is very crowed. Up. Amazing litlle castles. Down. It has only one car entrance, there are some building which need to be restored, there are some spiral stair which go to the upper towers that are not available.
Very fun day, a big, park like setting. We enjoyed the plane and riding around on bikes the most. Hope they keep improving and returning it to its former glory
Awesome park, ticket prices are very cheap, and the place is huge and filled with games for the kids. Go with the entire family, you won't regret!
Really a big place and a pretty one. Perfect if you have kids. Saturday and special on Sundays looks like half of city are there 😁 but in summary a beautiful place to take a walk. Some builds need some work, a bit old or with menor issues.
Free pass place. Wonderful parks, everything ready to play. The city has a mini airport, mini bank, mini theater, mini castle and a show for kids in the afternoon.
Great public park with many attractions for the kids. Free entrance. Plenty of places for eating. Also games
Arriv3d early and a lot of venues are still closed. This disneyland sttle place will shock you when you knew it was proably walt disney himself might be inspired by republica de los niños as this place was established 5 years before the first disneyland. This place needs renovation to get more attractions, but it was a nice place, given its age.

Beautiful beach, quite popular in summer.
Great view and nice people in this neighborhood 🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉🌊⛱️🌊🏖️🏖️
Middle of hot summer water is still feels fresh ,with some wave , but it’s wide clean beach with nice people In afternoon around 2-3 pm on Sunday become really busy Enjoyed my time 🍻
Definitely the kind of place you need to relax, think or just have some fun, there's a space for anything you might want to do here in Mar Del Plata and of course then there's the beach you won't want to leave.
I am here since 2 hours and no Choclo, Cerveza or Pancho saleaman came by! This is the worst Mar del Plata Beach EVER!
Nice beach to go off season
Love it so much. The best in Argentina
One of the best spots in Mar Del Plata!

Nice quiet place, away from city noise. I couldn't go inside because it was a holiday. But I took a walk in the garden. Nearby there is a cafe where you can eat. I liked this place, it's a great place to work with a laptop or read a book.
Wish they kept the place better for visitors to enjoy the true beauty of the building, its style and of course it inhabitants!

Educacional. Educational great place for some education
This historical house of the writer Victoria Ocampo was disappointed for me.Didnt have good maintenance, Almost not Family furnitures. They should charge 3 or more dollars and have it in better condition,or have a shop with merchandising to collect the money necessary!!!!
Lovely house and charming garden. Interesting exhibition about Victoria Ocampo. Regularly there are events and concerts. I went to a show CAFE CONCERT that was excellent with really talented artists.
For a while I felt I was in good ol' Southern Usa. Soothing place to have tea with friends and participate of a good cultural event if you know the language.
Beautiful and cosy atmosphere, one of the hotspots for enjoying warm summer nights. Dreamy and romantic!

Very cool place to visit if you're in the area, and totally free. Opening hours were 8am-5pm and staff were very good at providing information about the tank tower. You can get an elevator to the top which offers amazing 360 views around Mar Del Plata, each side offering a very different view. If this review was helpful please give it a like :) enjoy
A small but interesting observation deck. The view is good. But special thanks to the very caring staff. We were with a small child and they helped us quickly get through and accompanied us at every step.
It's a nice place for a quick visit, full of history and an excellent view of the city. While going upstairs, you'll literally be surrounded by 5k liters of water. The staff attention is perfect.
Beautiful view! Friendly assistants giving information. There was no entry fee.
It has a nice view and you can have an assisted tour around it In 20-45 mins you should be done there.
Magnificent architecture. Great view. You can walk down the stairs to the little museum after being at the top.
Well worth a visit. It looks closed when you get there, but if you ring the door bell someone will come and let you in. Great views from the top and you can take the lift or stairs. There are (poor quality) pictures of the construction of the tower and some old artefacts to view. There isn't much else to do in Mar del Plata apart from beach and shopping, so a welcome break.
