We probably came here on a wrong day for us, because it was overcrowded - weekend and a holiday season. I would still rate this place at 5 stars because it was a pleasant visit. Nice show, beautiful area and great views. Situated right at the city, it makes it a bit difficult to park but we enjoyed the walk through the city and on the way back stopped at the store for souvenirs. They don’t accept cards at the entry and inside the castle if you want to have a drink.
Visited for the second time this weekend, great to see, plenty to explore. The whole area is stepped on history and too is this Chateau. Will definitely recommend a visit and come again.
Nice castle ruin, easily accessible for families. The archery activity is nice and free. There is also a tavern, though it looked not well maintained or clean. The sight invites for activities, I assume there are more at other times. Good explanations in the small leaflets and posters. Could use some better maintenance, like cutting some weed. For the price, it deserves better maintenance .Great view on the city lower and the surroundings.
Great looking castle ruin in the middle of the town with a few activities to try and nice panorama to enjoy. Not that big so easy to explore. Some parts felt a bit barren while others more built-in.
A must-visit if ever in town, super interesting to experience and read about - we were stunned by some of the info! The prices are a bit expensive if you visit on a weekday where there is no bar or activities going on. On the other hand there were very few people on a Thursday morning! Student price is 8€ (0.50€ off)
Follow the map on the street to find the entrance Nice activities inside like playing music with kids and theater show A bit expensive tickets
This very old castle is build on a rock using materials from the area. The builders used a very special technique to put rocks together and form a stable structure. The place is worth a visit which lasts around 45-60 minutes. Entrance is open until 30 minutes before closing time. It's not expensive and worth the visit.
A special experience to touch & see the exterior of a medieval castle. There are a couple rooms with no doors, that you can go into. Its a very steep, ancient cobblestone, uneven climb up to the ticket window. And to walk around you must be very careful. Its all ancient and nice to experience.

Museum with a great collection of items. Some great videos describing real facts. Nice area dedicated to the veterans.
If you're interested in World War II history, this museum is an absolute must-visit! The collection is impressive, with well-curated exhibits and expositions that bring the era to life. Motorcycle enthusiasts will be especially thrilled by the wide array of vintage models. Seeing a classic 1942 military WLA Harley-Davidson displayed right next to a 2017 Harley-Davidson Slim S Collector is a true treat!
Absolutely amazing privately curated museum that you can clearly see a lot of time, love and attention has went into it. Could spend hours walking around the 4 floors of exhibits, and the museum curator is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend visiting if you are interested in WWII
La Roche en Ardenne is an amazing little town with great restaurants and Vistas. We had no idea that it held such vital importance during the Battle of the Bulge in Dec 1944 to Jan 1945 lying on one of the German army Rollbans. There are many treasures here for the military buffs. The Musée de La Bastaille Des Ardennes is a tribute to one families dedication to telling the story from all sides. Well worth a visit.
This compact museum is a wonder - it’s been put together with dedication and a need to show what really happened in the war in this area of the Ardens. There is a power and emotion that comes through from these amazing diagrams that have been skillfully constructed, using great imagination and resourcefulness. Salt for snow on the guns looks convincingly real. -and the total destruction of the town due to the allied bombing at the end of the war, to remove the bridge. I can’t recommend this place enough!
The museum was surprisingly big on the inside! There is a lot to see, you really have to take your time and don't rush to the exit. A lot of pictures of veterans who had visited the museum. There were also a lot of diorama's, and scale models! The museum looks a bit older than the most museums but that's the charm of this museum. It is definitely worth the ticket price.
This place is an absolute must for anyone that's an enthusiast of the Second world war. Not only is this museum ran by a single man with no aid nor support in running and maintaining it, but a grand majority of museums in the area frankly pale in comparison to this marvelous place, you could visit multiple times and still find something new you hadnt seen. In addition, as a British person, I rarely see so much of a representation of our units who fought over here in Belgium. His museum is an educational and interesting place, filled with interesting and rare artefacts. Overall, an absolutely brilliant tribute to British, Canadian, American and Belgian forces ran by a passionate man whom has dedicated his life to sharing this with the world.
Awesome place to visit and had loads to see, only takes cash for admission and no cards. A couple of tanks near one in the square where you park and one right outside the museum. Museum on various levels and loads to see. Near the river so you can go for a walk afterwards. Good day had by all. Would recommend for a visit.

A semi small wild park. There is enough to see for an hour or an hour and a half, depending on how much you want to relax and take in the views. All animals looked healthy and they were doing some small renovations on the sign posts. There is also a small cafe and a place for your children to play. A fun (family) day and a decent price.
The kids liked the Parc and the animals, a good walk also, not too big and not too small... Our visit was a little over 1 hour
Very lovely park🩷 for me it was the first time but my partner has been here a few times already! He sees much development which makes it even better to come hete once in a while :)
Usually as a wildlife enthusiast, I am not a fan of zoos and other places where animals are kept in captivity. However I wanted to make a visit here due to the numbers of positive reviews and good words I've heard of it. I was gladly surprised by the space the animals have in the enclosures. The animals behaved naturally amongst each other and seemed well taken care of. You truly notice that the park is made for the animals to feel comfortable, and not for the visitors. Also the staff is very friendly and helpfull. The space to eat at the beginning of the park serves some tasty/quick food to refill your energy!
Relaxed small park with local animals. Nice walk in a forest area where all the animals have a lot of free space (with the exception of the owls). As a result it’s not very crowded. Decent playground on site for the kids to burn off that extra energy. Even a small food stand for those in need of drinks or a pancake.
Very beautiful animal parc with options for a snack and a drink. Not all the animals are always visible, but that's because they have a large place to walk around. Also the people there are friendly and you can take your kids as there is also a playground.
Not wheelchairaccesible, Paths are terrible. Bring some muscle if you want to get around
Great place to visit with kids, especially because the large playground (for all ages) attached to it, is outside of the animal park and free! You can sit at a picnic bench or get food/drink at the café. The animal park itself is nice, with a variety of animals. Best to keep the buggy down below as it is a steep forest climb, but the walk around the park isn't too long for kids and it's nice and shady.

Nice place to hike around the lake and Barrage. Beautiful views !
Nice (sometimes demanding) hike. Loved it all the way.
A little nature gem hidden in nowhere. The road is very nice leading to and around the place, perfect for some motorcycle trip. The hiking paths are well cleared and the view on the lake is quite stunning from uphill. There's is a small bar at the bottom of the dam, near the parking lot, where you can have a drink, eat something, and rest your feets.
very difficult route, if you don't have a hike shoes with very good grip just dont go, it will be more difficult if it is raining… not recommended if you are a beginner hiker
Beautiful place to kayaking. When you're in the middle of the river you hear nothing besides the sound of nature. Not easy to find in Belgium. Really pretty to see the green of the mountain going all the way down to the water.
We walked 5h and 13+ km around the lake and crossed one person.Dog was very happy with the walk..so were we.sometimes the road was interrupted (fallen trees) but over all the marks where plenty available and they where easy to find. Very beautiful sights and a couple of cool shelter or rest places on the path.
Great place to visit. Only reachable by car. If you are an experienced hiker you can do the hike around the lake.
It could have been very pretty but you can't really see the dam. You can walk over the dam and that's incredible when it's working. But it's a shame you can't see this incredibleness from a distance. Overall it's worth a visit when you are nearby.

Awesome family business, excellent chocolate and a must-do tour!
5 stars! We did the escape room experience and it was amazing! Interesting, funny and thoughtful.
Nice place. Make some interesting types of chocolate and serve some nice hot chocolates. The tour is fairly short but a very nice addition to an otherwise simple shop/cafe. The tour was done very excitedly, maybe a bit too excitedly. It's okay they promote their products in the tour but it would be better if they did at the end instead of at the beginning. The small 'museum' is also cute, they have some old posters and cases of chocolate, which is cool.
Really enjoyed the presentation! Very informative and suitable for young and old! Learned a lot about chocolate and the the whole process it goes through from the tree to the product we eventually buy! Understand now why chocolate is expensive! Well worth the visit!
A very nice and special chocolatier with super friendly staff. Don't forget to try their hot chocolate varieties and liquor mixes.
Amazing presentation, delightful pralines to try during the explanation. Good fun and a wonderful shop! 10/10
Great place. good chocolate. tour/tasting very nice and tasty.
It was a very nice, interactive experience and I have learned (and tasted) a lot about chocolate

We were here in the summers. Beautiful and relaxed place. A very small but cozy town surrounded by woods. We did a walk in the city and then ended up doing a small hike around the place, crossed the river on foot. It was fun and very relaxing to be in the nature. Definitely recommended for a timeout from the city life.
A place that needs to be on your bucket list Very nice landscape, but facilities were closed
Nice green area by the river, lots of hiking trails, lots of space to play, have a relaxing picnic. There are a few outdoor dining out tables and some benches in the area. There are some children rides and slides as well. Lots of people were doing fishing, should be a lovely place to come for a nice picnic and swim in the river during the summers. There are definitely options for kayaking as we saw a lot of people kayaking in rental kayaks. There is even a cabin for renting though in the current pandemic times it was closed as were the toilets. Also there's not many options for eating in the immediate neighborhood, though there are supposed to be a couple of restaurants there but atleast today everything was closed. Not sure of it was because of the Sunday or pandemic or Easter weekend so better keep your snacks and drinks
Start of our canoeing trip to Durbuy. A safe place to leave your car.
All closed on a beautiful day end April. Many tourists but no facilities.
Yes. Just yes. Go here. The river is the perfect place to chill. There's a small shack with ice cream, some drinks (Belgian beers....) that was open when we were there. The grass is well kept and provided for an experience that rivals any beach.
Its more of a park than a beach but still very beautiful clear water lots of space but no campervan allowed it the car park fantastic walking and mountain bike trails 😀

Lovely church with an unique light atmosphere (only when the sun shines throug the coloured windows). Highly recommended
Impressive church to pass by and even more impressive inside. They have a huge and 2 other organs and also a few pictures of how they build the big one. When we were there also a lot of paintings from the medieval age. Sadly everything is french and no translations next to it. You can also light a candle of course.
A beautiful church in the center of town not always open when you see the door ajar take the opportunity to visit it. The light from the stained glass windows colors the church in a pink hue. Some interesting details like the old cogs of the bell tower clock.
Just like a dark ages building ~
Very very beautiful church!

Visited the shop two times now and it didn't disappointed us. There is a large selection of beers and other strong drinks. But also you can buy here nice gifts and souvenirs. The lady who helped us at the counter did speak English, what was really nice because we can't speak French. We definitely come back to buy some more (local) beers!
Super friendly owners! Nice store, with a good variety of beer and more. Really good presents sets! Highly recommend
Good selection of local products! Very friendly staff.
Nice if you want local or special beers, or products. They don't chase you so if you need someone you will have to get them. But knowing how it goes now, you can't be disappointed. Personally I don't like pushy sales people that stalk you so... Fine for me. Prices are ok certainly for something touristic. A good place if you look for a souvenir beverage or a gift, or just local products you will not find in a super market
DO NOT COME HERE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY! The owner seemed to be drunk and was very aggressive and yelling towards my mother (she is 75 years old) because she picked up a product to check the ingredients (due to allergic reasons). We felt very unsafe.
It's a tourist shop, but I recommend it for the good selection of beers from the area. I'll be back here for sure.
Very good! Excellent options and the prices as well!
(Translated by Google) During our first visit to La Cave du Vénitien, we were very warmly welcomed by the owners and pleasantly surprised by the number of high-quality products we could find in this shop. In addition to the many regional beers and their origins, which Océane explained very well, we were able to discover many gems such as Poire au Cognac, rums, Belgian wines, and local Ardennes products. We loved it so much that we returned the next day to buy souvenirs to give to our family and friends! Thank you for these gems! I rented two mountainbikes here to make a 3-hour tour. Just my wife and I. We followed the signs through forests, grassy hilltops, along rivers. It was a really good experience! Bikes were in excellent condition, the staff was very friendly and speaks Dutch as well. You can either choose to do an easier 1.5 hour loop and then optionally add a more challenging 1.5 hour loop. We almost didn't encounter any cars during the loops. We were welcome to use the showers after riding and charge our phones. I can highly recommend!
We had an amazing time at Brandsport! Our instructor Tobias went above and beyond and made sure our 4 year old son was having the time of his life. We did the rope obstacle course in the morning and the kayaks in the afternoon. Tobias was really helpful and made sure everything was safe for our little son to be part of the adventures. 100% recommended. We will definitely come back.
We rented mountain bikes from Brandsport's downtown location. The bikes are in HORRIBLE condition, they must be at least 5 years old. Gears were completely out of tune, loose bottom bracket, and out of tune wheels. They also add a ton of risers to their handlebars which is just awkward for people who actually want to trail ride. The shop attendant was condescending and unhelpful in helping us pick a route. Would not recommend.
The "Forest Rope Adventure" is situated at about 600 meters walking distance from the center. With some 20 people up in the trees, a group the same size preparing to go up and a third group arriving a single instructor present on site (without a car) seems inadequate.
Friendly staff, good quality gear and lots of fun. We experienced the climbing forest experience.
Great experience! Dave was a good instructor. Professional materials, everything was well taken care of.
Fantastic experience with entire family. Daughter of 11 and son of 15 both loved it! Marnik and Dave were perfect hosts!

Very good experience for us! We went as a small group and first did the Archery/Axe throwing/Shooting activity. The instructor was very good in explaining, keeping us safe while also making it a fun competition. The location for this is walking distance from the office. Then we went kayaking and had good fun. Pickup by a bus at the office to go upstream, then kayak back down to the village. There was a small problem with our reservation, but this was solved well by the staff.
Awesome experience for little money- we did the Axion kayaking, which I've been doing since I was little. Worth it every time.
Went kayaking last week. They ask 20 euro for 1 hour of kayaking, and you have to pay extra to have a bucket (2 euro). The man at the service desk wasn't very friendly and was not aware of the size of the buckets. We were with a group of 7, but there were no single kayaks available. Thus, we had to take a double kayak for someone alone. This while we actually wanted 7 single kayaks. If you want a single kayak, avoid this business. If you don't mind taking a double kayak, you might consider renting here.
The 2h kayak tour took us actually max 40min and the guy behind the counter was very unfriendly. But the tour itself was nice and the guys at the café as well.
Absolute wonderful experience with a great host/instructor: very friendly, reassuring when needed!
The Kajakking was fine. But when we arrived at the end of the trip. We had to wait more than 45 minutes to travel back to La Roche-En-Ardenne.
It was a lot of fun. Our family was having a whole photoshoot, i recommend this place.

Wow. Complete d_head of an owner, rude and disrespectful. On the front door it said it was open until midnight. When we stepped inside at 22:00 we got kicked out in a huge rush in a very rude way when there were very clearly people inside. Probably even doing shady stuff in there. Sometimes people can have a bad day I get it, but this guy just threw us out like we were filth. Don't go here, don't give this guy your money, this job clearly isn't suited for him.
