The nature center has allot of variety of local plants and taxidermy to view. Also, the staff very accommodating and friendly. Very educational and informative center with some live snakes inside aquarium's habitat to view. Its a large preserved wetland habitat with many different variety of native birdlife, fish and reptiles. A great place for a short or long walking trails. No biking here just walking and running trails. Free parking in the main lot is limited but lots of parking on the other side of the street. Bring your camera!
A peaceful yet fascinating journey through a vibrant nature reserve. The area is full of life- you’ll spot a wide variety of plants, birds, and other wildlife. Many people come here to hike with their dogs, enjoying the scenic trails. Along the way, there are several stops with informative signs that explain the local ecosystem. It’s a great place to slow down, learn something new, and connect with nature.
Absolutely stunning views and lots of wildlife. We saw several species of birds including osprey, belted kingfisher, great blue heron, snowy egrets, and great white egrets. There are many soft surface trails that you can walk throughout the lagoon. The visitor center is a great place for kids and adults alike with many different educational exhibits and a gift shop. I highly recommend this spot for nature lovers and families.
Beautiful trails with a variety of coastal birds. Clean restrooms at the Nature Center and easy parking. My dog and I did the entire trail loop and we absolutely loved it! We went on a Sunday and it didn't feel crowded at all.
We really liked it. If you are claustrophobic, think about it first. But in principle the road between the rocks is very short. We made 2 circles, the children were happy
Really nice trail but no shade so come early or late afternoon . The visitor center has a lot of information including trails and snakes a turtle tarantula . It also has taxidermy animal a draw area for kids . Water is available to refill your cups too but only at the entrance
Beautiful location with well-maintained trails and excellent bird-watching. Check out the visitor’s center to see what birds are migrating through here when you visit.
Started here for walk to Annie's Trail. Easy flat walk. 4.5 miles at. Beautiful lagoon. Birdwatching.

It was a very nice beach. We came here after dinner to watch the sunset. It wasn’t busy at all. Beach was very clean. It was easy to find parking. They have restrooms as well as showers.
Beautiful views of the Pacific! Sunset looks stunning! Waves make the best sounds! Lots of surfers, has trail for walking along the Pacific and access to beach via a stairway. Has paid public parking. Relaxing way to end a hectic day! Lots of good restaurants nearby to pick up good food.
Campground was wonderful. We had I believe one of the top 10 spots at these grounds. Our site allowed us to walk right up to tower 16 and woke up looking at tower 16 from my tent. Restrooms are kept up and cleaned daily. No drone restrictions were detected. The low tide was nice to enjoy with the kids. I recommend bringing water shoes if planning on enjoying the beaches. My children's feet were cut up pretty bad from all the hard stone and reefs in the shallows during higher tides. Also ant repellent. Lotta ants! Many of the RV and trailer campers I noticed used the ant chalk to detour them from climbing onto their campers, great idea. Also if tent camping our location the ground was extremely hard and have sturdy stakes that still were difficult to hammer down, so don't bring those cheap stakes, you might as well not even stake the tent if you do so. Our fire ring could have been cleaned out more but not a big issue.
Oh, Cardiff By The Sea! Such a quaint city with one of San Diego County's most beautiful beaches! Get there early if you want to have a parking space in 1 of the lots which you do have to pay for, but besides the hassle of parking, this beach is amazing and worth it! We always see such beautiful water (very clear most days), good for surfing, paddle boarding and also the kids just wadding in the water. & Dogs are welcome! We will usually come early and stay all Day to enjoy the sunset. There's some a lagoon that goes under the bridge where you can also fish. Wonderful beach!!!
Absolutely breathtaking beach and one of my favorite spots to surf! When it breaks right you can catch a long ride 🤙
The beach was pretty cool. When you walk out in the water, it’ll stay flat for a couple feet and then goes to a drop off. There was lots of seaweed everywhere. Where the water enters the lagoon, stingrays and leopard sharks were swimming in and out of there. Super cool to watch. The beach is mainly flat, they have good parking, and tables for picnics or birthdays. Surfing is a bit tough as the waves are good. During the morning it’s fine, but in the afternoon when the wind picks up, it just go straight mush. It’s a good reef break at high tide. There are lifeguards nearby and on duty, you’re right by the road so it’s a little bit noisy but not too bad, the ocean usually disperses the sound. There’s lots of places for young kids to play in the sand or go out on the water. Lifeguards are also putting up safety signs/rip current flags. Fun little beach to visit in the summer time.
Parking easily paid with the machine or a QR code. Restrooms, water fountain on site. Surfers love it here.
We had such a great stay here. The waves and water were wonderful. The sea weed was all over but that didn't bother us. The water was cool but we got used to it. Once in the water though there was quite a bit of rock. I went to walk in and kept tripping on it. While boogie boarding it was ok, surfing seemed to be pretty good out there, but to wade in the waves was a bit troublesome. The campground facilities were great! Bathrooms and showers were kept up with and were everywhere. There were also water spickets throughout the campground, very nice to have. And at the top of the stairs from the beach were showers. The gift shop on site was really great! Some nice, quality souvenirs at reasonable prices. My husband got a great IPA for a great price too. I didn't try the fresh food though. We plan to go again and can't wait, however I may request that we drive to another beach at least once. As for camping, tent camping would be pleasant. We used to always tent camp but this time used a camper. It was difficult getting it in the spot but lesson learned. I'll be more strategic about our spot next time. Picnic tables and fire pits available at all sites were great! Wild life was squirrel and rabbits and pigeons as well as sea birds. Lots of stairs to get to the beach.

They are absolutely the best surf camp out there. My boys started last year at age 4 & 5, after one week of session they were standing. And this year, they were straight up surfing. My youngest was hesitant at first, but they would play games with him and make water and surfing fun. They teach firm but so kindly. The coaches they have are so polite and nice and they know exactly how to teach kids to surf. I can’t say enough good things about them. My boys were so bummed when Friday came and it was their last day that I had to contact them and ask if they had any more openings this summer. They are absolutely the BEST! I would recommend them a million times.
My kids LOVED this camp. Every day they were ecstatic to go to camp. I could not stop telling everyone how obsessed they were. The staff was friendly, and I felt very safe leaving my kiddos at the beach with the Eli Howard crew. Both of my kids, 7 & 8, caught lots of waves and learned to surf. They are excited for the rest of summer.
My daughter loved it. The instructors were great and the overall vibe of the camp is terrific. Highly recommend and we’ll be back next year.
Best surf program in all of San Diego County hands down! My daughter has really been getting into surfing over the last year or so and recently trying to progress with her first hard board. The staff at Eli Howard was super nice, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable. Definitely helped her build confidence and get the wave count up. She is Hooked! No matter the skill level of your kiddo, this is the definitely the program I’d recommend. She won’t stop talking about the fresh fruit charcuterie boards either! We will be back in summer for sure 🤙
My daughter was very hesitant about surfing and being bigger waves, and everyone told me that this was the place to take her. She had such a fabulous week, was bubbling with enthusiasm after each day's camp, and bragging about what a surfer she had become.
My 7 year old son had the best time and aid this was the best camp he had ever been to and wants to do it every summer from now on! All the coaches were so great and the ratio of coaches to kids made the experience super fun and really safe. 1000% recommend this camp!
Our daughter loved Eli Howard Surf School. Would recommend to anyone looking to get a start in surfing. Thanks Emily and Greg
Our kids loved it! We'll be back next year! So fun! Love- The Dukes

The Cardiff library is small compare to others, but the building architecture is well designed, there are clean bathrooms, computers for public use and plenty of sitting. The staff are very helpful, if the items you are looking for aren’t available, you can order it from other libraries around the county and pick it up at this library. The children’s area is enclosed, so the little ones can make as much noise as they want without being distracting, as there is children’s sing along some mornings. You can sit outside in the shaded patio and enjoy the views of the ocean even before or after the library opens. The parking lot is small, park in the street if available.
Extremely rude staff if you don’t “fit in.” Stopped by to finish some work, but the staff were loudly gossiping at the front desk and would shush me for talking quietly to a friend. Other guests were talking even louder, yet no one asked them to lower their voices. Felt very unwelcome and unprofessional.
Quiet, little library by the ocean. Very cute. It also has a great outdoor area for working in the beautiful sunshine. They have large sails and per outlets outside as well.
The librarians at this particular library are absolutely wonderful human beings :-) so very helpful and kind. Couldn’t ask for better people in our community. Thank you so much!
There are about 5 group style tables (3-4 chairs at each table). These do not have outlets nearby. Also, there are a few tables built around the perimeter. These do have outlets located underneath them. This review is coming from the standpoint of a neurotic, noise averse college student. To give you some perspective, I am one of those people that study with ear plugs. This library, unfortunately, does not provide a quite environment. There is a zone where small children play with toys and read aloud. This sound travels throughout the relatively small library creating a constant racket. If your ideal library is like mine where children and adults alike adhere to the whisper rule and you still use the noun, "racket", you should take your neuroticism somewhere else. Parking is often difficult to find. Please note: the staff is wonderful.
Nice cool place to go and enjoy facilty
To be fair all the staff were super friendly and helpful but the desktops keyboards were filthy with gunk. I didn't feel comfortable and safe as there were a couple of grown men that smelled pretty bad. The whole room where the desktops are at smelled really bad, it's a shame because it's my first time visiting a public library in a couple of years and I will not be returning.
I have been here at least 30 times in the past year and can without a doubt say that all of the people giving this place a 1 star rating are being unfair. One reviewer gave it a 1 star just because there was a smelly guy there and the keyboard for the computer (which is only used to index the books available through software) and nothing else had a bit of a yucky keyboard. That is no reason to give the place a 1 star. if anything all that does is subtract a star making it a 4/5. And to the other reviewer who mentioned he was a college student and that it was too loud, know that that is only a very small section of the day an of the week that they have the child's reading group conducted. 95% of the time the place is dead silent. Please do go give the place a visit. I have always enjoyed the place and recommend it to anyone.

Amazing spot to grab a delicious beer. Lost Abbey has been around for a long time, and for good reason. This location is very close to the ocean and one of the best places to enjoy a sunset and feel the ocean breeze. The atmosphere at The Confessional is fun and old world. The indoor setting is clad in wood and faux tree trunks. There is a huge bar, tons of booths, and tables to sit at. Indoor and outdoor seating available. On a nice day, they open the big roll-up door in the front. The staff is super welcoming and helpful. Its a great spot for parties of all sizes. They have someone the most unique styles of beer you can get anywhere. They make something to cater to every palate. They are one if the few breweries that really offer some exceptional dark and strong beers year around. Their takes on sours are also exceptional. Cold bottled and canned beer available to go. Parking can be tight, and it's time limited.
They talk about southern CA being a bit of a beer desert - thats x1000 when it comes to finding a Czech style beer. This place has it tho, and its good!! So worth the drive to find.
Love this place. Very good location right in Cardiff. This place is dog friendly and great even if youre not a beer lover. They have lots of good options and very friendly staff to help you decide. I went with the beer flight so I could try a few things. I got to design my own flight. I loved not being stuck with any unwanted beers.
I don’t even like beer, and I’m here a few days a week. Vinyl night on Mondays? Yes. Irreverent beer names? Also yes. Ocean view, outdoor seating, and staff who treat my dog like he owns the place? Obviously. This isn’t just a brewery—it’s Cardiff’s clubhouse.
We decided to give this place a shot after hearing about its supposed ocean views, but it turns out we misunderstood--it's not beachfront, and the ocean isn't visible from their location. However, once we adjusted our expectations, we found plenty to enjoy. One highlight was their beer selection, which offered a nice variety without overwhelming choices. We particularly appreciated the option to create a flight with our top picks. The bartenders were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. As luck would have it, just as we settled in, it started pouring rain, prompting everyone else to leave. Suddenly, we found ourselves alone with the bartender, sharing a laugh over our unexpected private moment. It was a quirky twist that added to the charm of the experience of being in a "confessional"
They were definitely happening on a Friday night. Staff were friendly and on top of things. Great beer - you really can't go wrong no matter what style you prefer. If you get the munchies you can bring food in from the neighboring businesses. All in all it's definitely worth a stop.
Loved our first experience at the Lost Abbey!! So, I'm a big Hop Concept fan. Whenever the cans roll up at out stores in the OC area, I always make it a point to get a pack. So since we were in the area, made it a point to visit! Nice taproom, plenty of seats at the time of our visit (early Monday afternoon), very chill & relaxing place (you can bring your own food), kids were fine here & didn't complain :) I enjoyed a few flights (lots of choices!) & also bought a 6 mixed IPA pack to-go! After I checked my online receipt, there was an error (charged 2 full pours instead of the tasters...tried calling their number but only got voicemail so I'll try sending an email). Aside of that error (and I hope they can right that little wrong), love love love the brews & location! Cheers!
Great brewery right next to The Waverly and Seaside Market in Cardiff. Clean great brews, cool church-like interior and seating. Bartenders were super kind and helpful choosing the IPAs. Will definitely be back!
