Nice cave, a pleasant guided tour (in German). Inside the cave there are quite a few staircases, be ready you go up and downstairs quite a lot. We were there on a long weekend, it was quite crowded. You buy the ticket first and get a time slot to visit the cave. In our case slots were available in about 30 minutes. The tour lasts about 45 minutes.
We did the 40 minute group tour and found it interesting and informative. It is cold and wet inside so appropriate clothing and footwear is a must. Also, be prepared for a long walk. There is paid parking outside the caves and the max duration to park is 2.5 hours. There is a café at the exit. It also sells a few souvenirs.
The best place to visit near Nuremberg, amazing atmosphere, Nature at its best, chilly inside the cave with a lot of stones made of water drops over the year and one was 2000 years old. The guided tour with the German and English language and the guide was super nice. The ticket price was just 9 euros for adult, it was around 45 mins of tour inside the cave. Once in a lifetime experience for me. Deutschland Ticket works there in Schmetterling Busses. What are you waiting for?
It's wonderful! I'd recommend a guided tour and warm clothes. Not for disabled people. Lots of stairs and tight on several parts of the way. Absolutely worth it. Dogs are allowed.
We visited on a Sunday, early afternoon. It wasn't overly crowded. The tour guide also spoke in English. It was worth the trip. It was a good experience. After exiting the cave, you can enjoy a nice refreshment at the cafe, go for a hike, or visit the coaster park (up the mountain). We were very pleased.
Great fun and very unique cave! The audio- and visual effects inside were fun too - and the exit outside of the cave was almost magical! Really beautiful grassy and moss-covered rock formations and mountain cliffs. Beautiful sight, our kids had fun here!
Love this cave tour however, they play the English language guided tour after the group moves on — kinda rude lol but overall, its a nice tour/hike.
This cave is a Nice place to visit. with Kalk Deposits for over 1000s of years this place is unique to see. Cannot use Kinderwagon, babies need to be carried. Some paths are very very narrow . Only guided tour as per slot (in German) . Parking in Automat. View after the tour was also amazing (autumn season) 9 euro ticket for adults. Will be very interesting for kids.

A day trip in Pottenstein can be fun with this experience. It has only 3 rides but all of them were funny and very kids friendly. The tickets costs 4€ for each ride. The que was very long hence buy all 3 tickets together and enjoy!
A fun place to spend a day. You can buy a per ride ticket. That way you can buy tickets only for the rides you are interested in. There is a restaurant and a small ice cream shop inside. Washrooms are available in the premises and there is plenty of car parking space.
Good place to visit with kids, we have spent some nice time being there and enjoyed ourselves. Rides were good and safe for everyone. Restaurant was good but due to heavy crowd the waiting times were too high.
Kids and adults both had fun here! We came here in the morning of a weekend. While the parking was quite crowded, we didn’t have to queue up for each ride. There were more people coming after lunch time though.
The site itself is lovely, the facilities are fun, the view is amazing, there is a comfortable restaurant and convenient parking. But we had an unpleasant experience. We bought 6 tickets at the ticket office - 4 for the roller coaster for all of us (a couple with two daughters) and 2 for the sleds just for my husband and daughter. After we all did the first slide, my husband and daughter went to the sled slide. The line was long but we waited patiently. When it was there turn, my husband already went in with his ticket and when my daughter tried to go up with her, it was listed as having zero balance! Even though the four used tickets were separately in my pocket. Unfortunately, they left the line and went back up. When I went up to the cashier and explained the situation, she acted like I was trying to lie to her. When I realized there was no one to talk to, I bought two more tickets. I wasn't bothered by the money but by the feeling that she didn't even think there was a possibility that there was a problem with them. When my husband and daughter went back to the line, the same thing happened to another father and son... too bad.
Fun time! Rides for all ages so bring the whole family. Best part is free admission! They charge per ride/attraction and the prices are very reasonable. Of Disney charged per ride they'd go out of business but here it's a great working model.
It's your typical amusement park. Not too big, there are a couple of nice rides, nothing too extreme so it's ok even for someone who isn't an adrenaline junkie. The waiting lines are decent even on a weekend.
Nice place, very well maintained, clean and fair price

I do not write reviews often! Firstly, the lady at the ticket office has a true passion for this castle. She was so nice and knowledgeable! She gave us a little pamphlet for the history in English and had little treats for our dog. She was great! Secondly, they allow dogs! On a leash, of course, but it was so nice to be able to bring our four legged friend along. The views are incredible and the history within the castle is amazing. Really a window into the past! 10/10 would recommend!
Great little slice of history but be ready to hike! Lots of uphill and stairs here but definitely worth it. Cool little museum in the castle as well but no pics allowed inside. Great views all around though.
The town surrounded by impressive rock formations is well known for its Burg. It houses a museum and there is also a private residence, therefore certain parts are off limits. Indeed it is ancient and full of history, however all descriptions are in German. A big shame for most International tourists who may be interested to read and learn about the rich historical tale. Towers majestically on the rocky hill with great vistas of the Franconian landscape.
Nice and well preserved castle, easy to access by walking (25’ approx) or by car (5’) from the old town - Very nice views and outside area and close to other attractions in Pottenstein so you can plan together with other activities. FYI - part of the castle is privately owned and cannot be visited.
Someone, somehow, made many to build it. Maybe none were welcome...
It is a nice one but I think a bit pricey. However interesting, so if you are in the area go and have a look!
Beautiful and old- interesting historical museum at the top. Not too hard a climb

A really great place to stop during your hike of the area to take in the panoramic views from the tower. It’s a bit of a walk to the top when you are tired, but very much worth it!
The tower is 37 meters high, and you must climb about 150 steps to reach the viewing platform. The views from the platform are excellent, and access to this tower is free of cost. You can hike and reach here or come by park. There is a car parking space about 800 meters from the tower.
It's always stunning to watch from above. Cute how it comes to "...gather the stones"... Don't miss, go! Good weather is highly appreciated...
Cool tower to climb and see the surrounding areas. It's part of a hiking trail. There are a lot in the area. When you're at the top you can feel the tower gently swaying in the wind, it's an interesting feeling. Very close to Pottenstein Castle which I highly recommend visiting.
The observation tower was a fun find along our hiking trail. Around 160 steps, nice views, few people, and on a hot day the wind at the top is refreshing. Furthermore, the entry is free!
Fairly new tourist attraction which overlooks the local area once you managed to climb up all these stairs
Nice to visit, highly recommended, especially during walking around or biking

This place offers fun and adventure for everyone big and small. You make your way through different routes among thebtress, climbing, swinging and jumping to get to your goal. It is on the edge of the forrest just outside of Pottenstein, and can be combined with a day of swimming in the summer time. It is very popular for childrens birthday parties.
I've been to the kletterwald twice now and both times have been so much fun, I can't recommend this place any higher! If you find yourself nearby with some time, go! You will not be disappointed. But, please please please make sure you pay attention to the safety briefing! Some of the zip lines *require* braking! My daughter made that mistake on the flying fox... and so did I! (Ouch!) Minor injuries aside, the ropes courses are all breathtaking and the food/drink are always great. As an American... this place is one of my favorite places to visit. I wish I had taken my phone and snapped a few photos... sadly I favored my phones survivability over my ability to share pictures. 😅
Really fun place to go. There are lots of different levels to choose from, so it’s perfect for everyone in every age and every athletic level. The only thing is, instructions and all explanations are only in German and not many people there speaks English. I saw some American family on the tree who had absolutely no clue what to do and in complete confusion. I recommend to find one or two English speakers to get full understanding on how things work for the safety. Overall fun experience and the food there was also good. Highly recommended as family activities
We visited with the family in April 2024. What an amazing place! beautiful location, friendly staff and the high ropes course is the best with lots of fun for all ages. The long flying fox from the tower is amazing! Thank you and we will be back!
Good place to spend the day. One thing that I would suggest is that the gloves should be changed more often. The ones that are on site are too old/used.
This is a great experience! A must if you are in the area. It’s a great adventure for big and small. We really enjoyed this one
So much fun! Sensational! You can take your dog with you. You can walk around the courses while your kids do the climbing, you can do them yourself, you can just sit an relax and have a beer or coffee. Brilliant. The whole crew is young, easy going and fantastically helpful and nice.
It's a fun place to past the time with family or even in your own trying to do all the different routes in the park, there nice food and all routes are well planned and made to ensure your security

We were just curious about some high rocks, standing above the trees and a village. We parked the car and had a walk. It seems there was a museum, but it looked closed. After we found out, it wasn't we bought a ticket for 4 euro only. We ended up walking around for more than an hour. As the museum consists of several buildings, all with its own theme. There is much more to see than we expected, and all well displayed. It's fun for kids, as there are many stairs and hidden corners. There is a lot to see about the local prehistoric findings, metal and wood work, clothes and kitchen. Even art and religion has its place here. If you have time, visit this place. Just park below in the village, as up the hill there is limited parking space.
It was a nice museum which you can also see old traditional German houses. The surrounding is also pretty nice. However, there is no English translation, everything is written only in German. I would definitely like to see English translation too.
Very nice surroundings
It is a cosy small village in Fränkische Schweiz. A starting point for many hiking routes. However, be aware that there is no cell coverage in this area and also we had a negative experience than the last bus to Pegnitz didn't arrive on Sunday! As far as the distance to the train stations in both directions was around 15km, we had to arrange a taxi. I recommend to go to this area with a car.
Ruhetag is Wednesday. Other than that it looked amazing and I will be back when it isn't their rest day.
The restaurants serve dinners only at noon time and at dinner time.

Rally nice place !
Good place to reflect on the day. Nice view, interesting wooden construction.
Nice views, easy to park and close to another attractions
It’s a great lookout tower, and that’s about it. There are some signs to show you what you are looking at. Simple. Easy. Wood. There are railings. It’s windy so take off your hat. There is parking. It’s near the fossile dig and rock quarry. Not much else.
Great views (on a clear day!). Easy to find. Free parking and free access. Approx 115 step to the top. Nice detour for us
The tower gives a great view but the fossil "hunting" next to it is just the biggest fun for the whole family.

I like the fixing system for the climbing equipment, I like the people who helped me to get with my daughter this climbing journey. They have done their best to speak English 😁
I visited on a rainy day with my two kids. The indoor climbing seemed a bit small, but it turned out to be a fine size for a good couple of hours of climbing. The quality of the food is also a lot better than I expected. When the weather cleared we played the football golf and that was a lot of fun too. The course was well maintained and a great size for adults and kids. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for a family day out.
We came here for a team event and it was pretty cool. The pizza is totally recommendable. And remember to bring a cap or a hat and sun screen if coming in a sunny day, cuz there are very few places with a shadow.
Nice place for fun. Food is good too. Location is very near to pottenstein roddle bahn, so you can easily spend your whole day here.
Great fun for the whole family!

Really great place to visit with family and friends. kids would definitely love this place. Its like a fund day trip, spending couple of hours even on a Sunday
The track is extremely small. The track condition and the go karts are the saving grace. Both have been maintained very nicely. The family running the place are nice and they all do speak in German and English as well. I would have loved if the track would have been bigger. No complaints otherwise.
Feel like teenagers again.
Kids birthday party was fun and they managed the speed accordingly for 8 year olds.
My husband loved it! He made me go-kart. I don't drive fast at all, but I had to go. The track was pretty long and the karts go pretty fast. The handle very well. He had a lot of fun and I am sure we will be back.
My children have a lot of fun.
Great, a lot of fun...
We tried the e go karts, it was quite fun. People working there were quite friendly. The karts and the track were in good condition.

This museum is quite small but definitely packed with artifacts and information. It was my first (and probably only) torture museum I’ll ever go to. All of the descriptions are in German, but there were plenty of illustrations/diagrams to give me a clear idea of what was going on. It’s pretty creepy with weird energy, I think there are a handful of real skeletons on display, although can’t be totally sure since I couldn’t understand the labels. I’m glad I went but definitely needed a beer afterwards!
Very cool. It is insane how cruel humans have been and can be.
great museum and artworks to buy!
(Translated by Google) The museum is small and nice. You feel like you've been transported back in time. The exhibits are very well done, I don't think there is anything exaggerated since we know that the Middle Ages were very rough. You have to read a lot if you are interested in it. I don't recommend it for small children. Otherwise very informative. Ansonsten sehr Informativ.

(Translated by Google) A truly well-designed museum! We've been to similar museums before, but they weren't nearly as well-designed. Everything here is just right. You can really spend quite a bit of time here if you read through everything, because there's an explanation for every exhibit. We were in the museum for about an hour. But only because it was closing. Otherwise, we would have definitely stayed longer. It's truly wonderful and very interesting. Lots of information. (Original) Ein wirklich sehr gut gestaltetetes Museum! Viele Infos.
