Thank you to the Canadian Government for ensuring this monument to those who gave their all stays open and allows us to be reminded of the horrors of war. Kept amazingly, the grounds are pristine where they need to be, and the trenches are kept in a manner that allows us to see their original layout, and understand how small no man's land really was - just a couple of hundred metres. The staff are fantastic and the visitor centre gives further insight. Thank you to those from Newfoundland that remain here to this day.
This was a beautiful memorial with the remains of trenches, no man's land and cemetary. There is a free tour available with a Canadian guide to explain the significance of the site. The caribou memorial is very distinctive
A very moving place with an incredible history of loss. Scarred earth is still visible where the trenches were dug and collapsed. A beautiful memorial to men who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their countries.
The battle site and museum are excellently kept and very evocative, sad and interesting. The young people who are volunteers there are a cheerful credit to their nation, even if they can't distinguish an Australian accent from an English one😆
Excellent place to visit so peaceful now but was hell in the war really great memorial
I've visited this site many times and been guided there by the fabulous student volunteers who are so knowledgeable and dedicated. It is such a serene and poignant experience and a must see a as part of the Somme Battlefield Tour.
Very moving. beautiful place . Just wish there were somewhere we could have got a drink as it was a long drive and a hot day.
A time for reflection!........You cannot say that you enjoyed it, because of the horrors of what occurred here! But it is a fitted memorial where you can take a moment to witness in real life and reflect on the futility of the First World War and sacrifice of the poor soldiers on both sides!

Jim Earlam review below sums it up really well. Beautiful cemetery. Quite grand with the entrance, structure and a lovely circle in the centre. Note, not sign posted and comes upon you quickly.
Peaceful. A place to be thoughtful and thankful for those that fought and died in the battle of the Somme and to pray that we never see such horrors again. I’ve visited a lot a WWI cemeteries and this one, set up off the road, surrounded by farmland and with the lime trees lining the headstones is pretty special.
A very beautiful and very peaceful cemetery. Superbly maintained. Sadly over half of the graves are unidentified, and read “A soldier of the Great War”.
Distinctive WWI cemetery. Walled. Accessible via stairs that separate the cemetery from scarce traffic. Beautiful elevation in the back for a nice view. Must see.
Our Great Grandfather 14378 Cpl (not Pte) William Kelly Royal Irish Fusiliers 36th Ulster Division was killed in action 1st July 1916 probably leading a charge on a German machine gun post as he was a Section Commander. I live in Australia now but whenever I go back to England we always go to this beautiful manicured cemetery to pay our respects not only to William but to all those brave men, women and children. The youngest was 15 😔😔🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great for walking the hills at back

I make sure i come to this cemetery everytime i visit the Somme. Its a beautiful location with stunning views yet the horrors that happened around the redan ridge soon bring you back to the reality of what took place all those years ago. RIP lads lest we forget 🍻
Small cemetery. Easely combined with Redan Ridge Cemetery No. 1. further up the slope. Nice walk.
