There are a handful of must-see places in Thailand, this is one, without a doubt. Doesn't matter if it's a day trip or overnight on the floating bungalows, do not miss this. A damn built in the 80s that basically flooded a whole region, so an artificial, giant lake in a biome that would normally not have one. Witness man playing God. Caves, jungle walks/hikes, wildlife, lush tropical forest and a cool story of how it all came to be. Words are hard to describe the enormity of this park and the awe you feel navigating it.
I would definitely recommend a day trip to this park, with its huge lake, when you are visiting the Khao Lok area. We had a guided day tour (which I would recommend to see everything) and it was a memorable and enjoyable trip. We stopped at the Three Sisters limestone formations for some photos, and cruised around the lake. We stopped at one of the numerous and unique floating hotels here for lunch, and did some swimming and kayaking. Definitely add it to your list of “must dos” when you are visiting Khao Lok.
One of the highlights of our stay in the area, definitely worth booking a trip to see Khao Sok and Cheow Lan Lake. Fantastic scenery! It’s easy to book a private longtail boat on GetYourGuide. We had a hire car and drove to the park from Khao Lak.
Khao Sok National Park is an incredibly beautiful and vast destination that exceeded all our expectations. We booked a full-day tour, which turned out to be the perfect way to explore such a large and diverse area. The tour started with a comfortable van ride from our hotel to the park entrance, where we met our guide who stayed with us for the entire day. His explanations and stories really enriched the experience and helped us appreciate the park even more. One of the highlights of the day was crossing the enormous, breathtaking lake on a traditional long-tail boat. The scenery was spectacular: towering limestone cliffs, lush forest, and the calm, emerald-green water created a magical atmosphere. When we reached the jungle trail, we began a pleasant walk during which our guide introduced us to the local flora and fauna. It was fascinating to learn about the unique ecosystem of the region. After the trek, we headed to a floating complex with rooms on the lake and a small restaurant where lunch was served. The meal was included in the tour and surprisingly good. We had about two hours to relax, swim near the floating huts, or paddle around the lake in a kayak—an unforgettable and peaceful moment. The last stop of the tour was a cave filled with bats. Although unusual, it was truly fascinating and added a sense of adventure to the day. I highly recommend visiting Khao Sok National Park. Its natural beauty, serenity, and well-organized tours make it a must-see destination for anyone traveling in the area.
Definitely a must-visit when in Thailand! 🇹🇭✅ My husband and I rented a private boat for 3 hours, including a swimming stop for an hour, and we truly enjoyed the trip. The beauty of Mother Nature gave us goosebumps — absolutely breathtaking! 😍✨
Khao Sok National Park is an absolutely stunning place — one of the most beautiful natural spots in Thailand. The scenery is breathtaking, with dramatic limestone cliffs, lush jungle, and a peaceful lake. There are plenty of activities like canoeing, hiking, and boat tours that let you truly enjoy the nature. Everything feels calm and magical. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and adventure!
I would definitely recommend doing a 2 day 1 night tour as you get to see loads of the national parks sights and you get to wake up on the lake which in my case was spectacular. However be prepared for very basic overnight conditions but it made no difference to us.
While I loved the park and everything about it, I'd like to bring to attention this boatman guy/ guide, and request all to avoid him to have a stress free trip. This guy speaks no English, and if he does, refuses to talk- as a guide, that is one of the major things one should do. He smoked weed/ some narcotic, made us pay for kayaking (which we had already paid for to our tour operator) - since it was only a 100Baht per person, the three of us who had booked the boat privately paid again because this guy refused to communicate. At the caves, he walked on at his own pace, shining the light randomly, and made to exit within 5 minutes. Thankfully we latched onto another group who had an English speaking guide to make sense of the wonders of the cave. We managed to click a whipping scorpion and a cricket with that group- a stark difference. After leaving the cave, he stopped in the middle of the water to light another joint, at which point we thought it a good idea to fly our professional camera drone for some photography. As soon as our drone gained some height, the boatman moved the boat forward, when we shouted at him with sign language to stop the boat. While landing the drone, since the boat had moved, the drone fell into the water, just short distance from where the boatman sat. Had he not been stoned enough, he could have moved his hand and caught the drone. The drone fell into the water, the boatman looked at the drone, looked at us, and shrugged his shoulders as if to say, your problem. The complain I wish to raise, is that this guy was so stoned, that if a human would have fallen off, he would simply have let the person drown, despite wearing a life jacket and knowing how to swim. Since we had to leave to catch our connecting flight from Phuket to Chiang Mai, we didn't have time to officially complain. In case anyone reads this, please ensure to avoid this guide. For your own well being.

Night market

Slide 1 of 8
Recommend only Sunday Nights it’s a little bit crowdy but you have lots more to see, hear, buy, drink & eat cause on sundays the market is much bigger. Especially the Italian guy pretty close to the main road that pork sandwiches are gorgeous
It's a very lively place which is active at night. Muay Thai boxing takes place on Saturday night at lamai beer plaza. You can find anything you want .. clothes, alcohol, food, souvenir.. anything...
4.5 for me... Smaller compared to chaweng or other markets. But much better in terms quality food, minor shopping
Small and nice night market.. If you are there visit Mr Dang and Nang very good restaurant
very popular place to get dinner.. and more ! a nice row of small desk where is possible to choose a variety of local fish, meat, veggy, fruit and much more. the many staff will cook your order and bring at your table: original, practic, cheap and convivial... what else ? just hope not found the rain (first condition) and try to get there quite soon to have a really nice choice of food.
Nice t shirts good quality, inside Bondi bar side entry
Very cheap and very delicious food. Very lively and full of bright lights
Good night out, generally cheaper all round than Chaweng. Free boxing on a Saturday night, you pay a bit of a premium on your beers but hey you're watching free entertainment.

Really cool. Free entrance. There were even people running around it while others were offering flowers and coloured stripes to the gods. A lovely place.
“Surat Thani Pillar Shrine: A Hidden Gem of Ancient Energy” The Surat Thani Pillar Shrine is a truly mesmerizing place. The moment you step inside, you can feel a unique energy flowing through the building—almost as if the very ethers are being pulled through its walls. This shrine holds an air of ancient wisdom, a quiet power that connects you to the deep history of the region. It’s not just beautiful; it’s a spiritual experience that invites reflection and awe. A must-visit for anyone seeking a connection to ancient knowledge and the tranquil energy of the past. 🛕
The Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine is a true gem in the city of Surat Thani and a place that every visitor should definitely experience. As soon as you enter the shrine, you will be amazed by the impressive architecture and tranquil atmosphere. The intricately designed statues and the loving attention to detail reflect the rich culture and tradition of Thailand. The central pillar, which is considered a symbol of the city, is particularly impressive. It is not only a spiritual place for the locals, but also a fascinating photo opportunity for tourists. You immediately feel the peaceful energy that surrounds this place and it is easy to get caught up in the moment. Many people come here to pay their respects and ask for luck for their families and friends. The location of the shrine is also excellent. Surrounded by lush greenery and close to several other important attractions, it is perfect for a relaxing stroll. Access to this sacred place is easy and the surrounding area is clean and well maintained. Overall, I highly recommend the Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine. Whether you are looking for spirituality, a cultural experience or just a peaceful place, this shrine offers all that and more. An absolute must for any Surat Thani visitor!
This is a beautiful shrine surrounded by some well kept lovely gardens . Not a destination attraction but definitely worth the detour if passing nearby . Lots of street parking and no fee to enter .
Nice little shrine to walk through if you’re passing by, but it’s not worth travelling for otherwise. The place is lit up beautifully at night although they close it so you can’t get close by. In daytime it’s nice to sit by for a short while and just relax as it’s very quiet without many visitors.
Nice shrine in Surat Thani. Clean. Good walking area. Well lighted at night.
If in Surat, this is a must see. At night the lights make it more beautiful. I onced prayed here than the next day won 17$ on lottery it's a lucky place.
One of the highlights of Surat Thani is City Pillar Shrine. It's a nice quick stop, be sure to bring a hat and umbrella if you plan to go during the afternoon. There is no entry fee. You may wish to make donations and pray 🙏🏻🤲🛕

Leave lots of time to enjoy the goodness of this market. If you're foodie this market is for you. Every stall and cook an artisan. The environment is really beautiful and enjoyed by locals. Highly recommend a visit here.
Absolutely lovely place very authentic did not see any foreigners at all very cheap I will definitely go back here on my next visit
Very good place local food and local environment you can also take boat to inside of canals.
Very nice place. Sunday market very exiting because many things I never saw before. Trip on the water just 100 baht for one boat and the staff is nice. Good in the market is cheap, tastefully and special
Take the boat tour, very serene. Cost only 20 baht per person. The market is full of local food and there’s seating areas along the canal. Parking is well organized and available for free at the temple next to the market.
This market open only on Sunday so check this before you go. Many nice shops with traditional foods and local products. U You can park in the temple and just walk across the bridge. There are also the tourist boat where you can spend sometimes with the canal and nature. People there are super 👍. This is another place in Suratthani you shouldn't miss.
You must first go through a Buddhist temple before crossing a bridge to get to this market. 'Floating market' isn't really floating, but is in the jungle. They have raft/family canoes to take people out on the waterway, which is like a small river that curves through the jungle. Great variety of food, at cheap prices. Worth a visit. Open on Sundays...
Last week of our 5 week food safari of Chiangmai and Surat Thani. This is a beautiful and peaceful floating market, with a very wide range of food stalls, several shophouse style and also full restaurant style venues. A delightful place.

You around, go there spend a 3 houers in peace.
Nothing interesting to see here. Very small park to walk. Loads of vans drivers are stopping here and sleep all over the park. Well maintained and clean park.
There is a playground for kids to play in
Great place to rewind in Surat plenty of exercise places and a great long running track opened for public Wich was amazing. Came several times and loved the place and we will be back
Not a big park, but beautiful and quite. A lot of place to work out and just relax.
Decent amount of parking but leaving the park during heavy traffic is rough. There is no traffic light or still sign at the intersection.
It's a park for activity. I couldnt find great quiet private areas to sit down. Its full of workout stuff. And a track. Many jog and exercise here. Great sized playground for kids its nice and classic as could be. I prefer the Koh Lamphu island for peace and quiet even though they have activity capability over there too. Needs to be expanded really from my observations, cut thru the tall grass outskirts and made into trails and or peaceful seating zones away from the main loop pond and "work out track" where its all about exercise at this park.
Awesome place good for biycling , running or kid friendly
