Our tour included a lesson in making chili paste which we got to take with us plus a lesson on making lotus wine, followed by a home cooked lunch. Our guide handled the translations. The local people were helpful and charming.
It's beautiful here ! People still live in most of the houses, so it is polite to walk and talk quietly. It wasn't very crowed when we went. It's set among rice fields and mountains, so very beautiful scenery .
It was very very hot when I visited here last weekend. Trumpet creepers are very pretty. Standing still despite the hard rain. Plus lotus flowers also already bloomed. Not all but enough to take pretty pics.
This place is awesome! Exactly what I was hoping for... very old well maintained homes that you can tour as well as homes that people live in. Some food vendors, coffee, traditional Korean food, cafes etc, sweet little old ladies selling goods. Signs in English & Korean also some Chinese and Japanese. They have people showing traditional arts. They weren't there when I went. It was romantic and pretty amd reminded me of princess mononoke:) good for kids or a date or just a stroll. It's pretty big actually. Def recommend 👌
Lovely little village. Lotus flowers are quite the sight while in season. Be sure to take a bottle of water in summer. Does tend to get very muggy and bugs are no weaklings!
Oeam Folk Village, is a traditional Korean village that is a tourist site. They have nice restaurant with traditional Korean food, which is delicious. It is also a great place to walk around and take it the sites and sounds.
This small town is well maintained historical site, many people still leave in those houses so you can see how Korean country town people leave now & old days. You can wondering around street of the folk village and see many beautiful houses & gardens, some of the houses are open for Han-ok stay & cultural experience programs including natural dyeing, Han-ji(Korean paper) crafts, rice cake making & many others.
Packed for a festival, but that also meant extra vendors. Good thing the police helped out with traffic. Nice views, plaques full of info, and friendly staff. Usually quiet, so parking is usually not a problem.

the place is very interesting to visit. if you bring ur kids , this is a very suitable place. this place is free to visit. before entering, there is a body temperature measuring device and also hand sanitizer. before entering you must take your temperature. there are also free stroller and wheelchair rentals available. it is located next to the exit. in spring and autumn the scenery is very beautiful. there are often many visitors. sometimes i see foreigners come. there are several public toilets, there are several small stalls that sell soft drinks and children's toys. there is a mini cafe too. last I was there , there was a renovation in front of the entrance. but that doesn't disturb , you can still enter comfortably. Happy travelling ^^
(Translated by Google) It's been a long time since I've been to this place. There's a large parking space, and inside Hyeonchungsa Temple, there is a memorial hall where you can see Admiral Yi Sun-sin's great achievements along with dense forests. (Original) 아주 오랫만에 가본 곳으로 주차공간도 넓고 현충사 내부에는 울창한 숲들과 함께 이순신 장군의 훌륭한 업적을 볼수있는 기념관이 있다.
(Translated by Google) It was a meaningful time, allowing me to experience the spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who sacrificed his life to protect his country. I think it's a wonderful place to visit with family, loved ones, or friends, reflect on the meaning of history, and enjoy leisurely moments amidst beautiful scenery. I recommend exploring the well-maintained forest paths, ponds, shrines housing his portrait, old houses, and memorial halls. (Translated by Google) It's even cooler in the fall. This is one of the places I definitely want to visit in the fall. I would come here every day if I could. In April you get to see the magnolia and cherry trees in full bloom. Once those flowers have fallen in late April or early May, the rest of the flowering shrubs are in bloom. There are multiple observatories. The entrance fee is under 5,000₩.
Loved it! The trek up the mountain was fantastic ( there is a car route too) it has beautiful views on the trek up, and equally fantastic views at the peak, would recommend for a family outing or just an outdoorsy day.
Great place for relaxing.
My Top#1 Mountain here in Chungcheongnam-do #Yeonginsan..alot of improvement since 2008-2022♡keep it up! Highly recommended
Nice hike. Easy enough for the kids. The views are amazing. There's plenty of shade for sunny days and plenty of sun for colder days.
Beautiful place!!! Amazing decored garden and home stay/campingSite ❤️😍😍
Beautiful area to go hiking! Very clean and well maintained facilities. Lots of scenic views along the the pathway, great for photos and selfies!
Great place for hiking, if you're a Pyeongtaek or Asan local.

Very beautiful Place. The place seems to me a village and it was chilling cold out there. The area is a hilly area and it was awesome to behold. The mountain was covered with snow and little cottages over there altogether making a scenic view, no doubt. When we arrived there the chief Pope or Father of the church with red colored dress was entering. And we come to know about this because of so many people around him with professional cameras 🎥. Now coming to the place again the church is cute but not too big. The surrounding is beautifully decorated. So many statues were there. We didn’t enter to the inside of the church because a huge Smart TV was fixed outside for the people to perfectly peep 👀 what’s going on inside. The place was chilling cold that’s why 3 or 4 heaters were placed outside for the people to warm themselves up. The Christmas decorations was breathtaking and mesmerizing. After the sunsets the bulbs were lit up and the whole place was looking just awesome 😎 it seems to me that the whole place is wrapped with swarms of fireflies. We took lot of pictures and videos of both day time and night time so have a look 👀👇🏻
Such a beautiful church and grounds. They even have a museum and a gift shop to buy rosaries, scapulars, etc. I will come back here as much as I can. +JMJ+
The church was so beautiful and so with the surroundings...nice place for reflection and retreat with amazing environment...
One of popular Catholic shrines; let alone its then-rare western style church, its museum presents history and artifacts of the persecuted Korean Catholics in 18th century
"Fascinating destination for visitors, with its ancient and sizable presence exuding Christian vibes. A must-see for those intrigued by history and spirituality."
I came here because I heard that there was a beautiful church in Asan. The road to the church was a bit difficult because it was uphill. When I arrived in front of the church , the bride and groom were taking wedding photos. And there were many people taking pictures in the church around.
Catholic church (built about a century ago) on a hill looking over wide estuary. You could enjoy sunset. Though It's not convenient to get access by public transport. If you are behind the wheel it's worth visiting.
I saw it in Sisyphus: The Myth kdrama and I totally loved it! Looks so friendly! It looks like a place where your soul can calm down and enjoy the silence.

Really interesting museum that I spent a long time in. The English translations are very good. The outside is beautiful with stone statues, Dolmen stones, a pagoda with pond and lots of trees. I spent about 2 hours here in total but could have taken longer.
We visited the Folklore Museum Onyang sat. morning by city-run Asan City Tour bus. Light raining welcomed us around 10:20. Inside museum, a docent (YEO Jeongsook, 여정숙) gave us a professional and heartwarming interp. session in Korean. (Thanks to her again). Technically we finished the 1st floor only, leaving the 2nd and 3rd floors behind, because we had to return the bus by 11:20am for the next stop; if time were permitted we would've been staying longer! This cozy, private museum was built in late 1970s by a vision-driven publisher of 계몽사 (lterally, 'Enlightment' Publishing Co.). Used to be a loyal reader of this company, I am pleased with witnessing his priceless legacy. In closing, please do not envy me, a bilingual in Korean and in English: I'm not sure the museum offers (a) multilingual program(s). An inquiry could be made in advance. Thank u for your reading - believe me - my first review, since I entered internet world ~~ Have fun .. in the early May holidays in Korea. (in special "Buddhism DNA" waves U a lot .. :))) these days. You'll Have a safe trip!! A.L.
Highly recommended! Amazing and beautiful place - the museum itself has beautiful exhibitions on all aspects of Korean life and historic culture, giving a great understanding of Korean society. The gardens around are extensive and filled with beautiful statues. You can see everything is lovingly set up and maintained. On top, the staff was so friendly and helped explain. There is a cafe that can be accessed through the parking lot that is also very nice, with quality coffee and cakes in a serene and stylish environment
It was very fortunate for me to visit in the middle of spring rain. I enjoyed calm and peaceful ramble around this museum, finding wonderful architecture by Kim, Suk Chul and Itami Jun. Flowers and trees in full blossom welcomed me waiting in the forest. Don’t miss this place in case of visiting Asan.
I’m such a museum geek and this is by far the most impressive private museum in South Korea. I felt that curators and staffs thought a lot about how to deliver the info clearly but concisely. The items are not too academical but very close to real life before 1980s. Highly recommend to visit anyone who wants to know about the ‘life of Koreans’. The cafe next to the museum is sweet too!
Amazing traditional Museum !!! #OnyangFolksMuseum ! When I went there i feel the time/zone of 1910-1960 and before!! Actually i have not clicked any image in the museum these all images are taken in the gardens and the out side of that museum. In museum you can see the so old rare evidence, sigh, art, food, dress, peoples, transport, equipments, machine, folk masks and also thousands of so many things 😊
My Australian son married his Korean girlfriend here. Absolutely stunning ceremony. I would highly recommend this venue to have your traditional Korean wedding. And the food was extraordinary yummy.
Its so informative about Korean incient life style.
