If you are a fan of Giacomo Puccini"'s work this is a must. His home and his personal possessions give an insight into the daily life of the man and the setting is beautiful. We took a short boat trip into the Lago Di Massaciuccoli which was well worth the money spent to see the whole setting.

Villa Puccini in Torre del Lago is an interesting example of how the architecture and the concept of the "villa" itself was completely transformed in the period of Art Nouveau. This building has been for years the residence of Giacomo Puccini (the famous composer born in Lucca) who had chosen to live on the shores of Lake Massaciuccoli, a place he particularly loved for his beauty and tranquility. Today it is the seat of the Villa Puccini Museum, managed by the heirs of the Maestro and open to the public. The two-storeys building was designed by Giuseppe Puccinelli, it has a rectangular shape, and its decorations are very simple and linear. On the façade, a bow-window overlooks the small oriental inspired garden. The villa was made, in collaboration with Puccini himself, by De Servi, Galileo Chini, who made the fireplace, and Nomellini, who made the pictorial decorations on the walls. On the ground floor you can visit the chapel where the musician is buried, with two glass windows and two bas-reliefs.

THIS WATER IS NOT FOR SWIMMING. Great for hikes and local wilderness sightseeing. It’s nice for a stop but don’t plan for a day visit unless you wanna pay for a boat ride or dine at the restaurant by the lake. We grabbed ice cream and walked around. The tower area is blocked off. A lot of private residential areas around the lake limit your exploration range. Parking was 2€ near the lake. Cute monument to a dog and the loyalty between man and canine.

Great scenario! One of the most beautiful theaters I have ever seen! The theater which overlooks the Massaciuccoli Lake sits in a unique location. I saw Tosca by Puccini last week and I really enjoyed it. Everything was perfect from the organization of the event, to the green pass screening, to the performance. Covid19 Tampons were offered to people not vaccinated. The only thing I was not keen about were the chairs. In case of a long performance (like an opera) I suggest you to bring a pillow because the chairs 💺aren't so comfortable. :)

Saw Turnadot at the Puccini Festival, and wow the production was fabulous! Costumes and set were stunning. The only thing to note is to bring cash, as none of the bars or stores within the structure take card. Eat beforehand as well—the queues are all incredibly long. Overall, beautiful venue with wonderful operas! Would love to come again.

The festival building is nicely built. The performance is actually just ok, compared with a very similar festival like this in Bregenz by Bodensee in Austria. The string section of the orchestra is really kind of shaky in Act I as the tempo was fast. The famous intermezzo was fine, probably due to an slower pace. At the beginning of Act IV, we heard a female scream on the totally dark stage. Then the orchestra stopped playing and everything went into a pause, leaving audiences not knowing what exactly happened. It was past midnight already, so some audience started leaving. As we had to drive 30 mins back to our sleeping place and we thought the soprano singing Manon must have been hurt, we just left without knowing if the show actually continued.

A great concert, very well organised. The acoustics in the open air auditorium are not perfect but that is the price you pay for such a magnificent setting. Concerts don't use amplification, so bear that in mind when booking tickets. You need to be as close as you can afford to the front.

we, a group of four, visited in early June, totally pre season but still there was animation and some show for the few guests who were at the bar. The bar / club is located beautifully at the beach road. You should go there by car but you can park quite in front of the bar. Because there are no houses or apartments nearby it is ok to be loud :) and have a lot of fun. definetly will return to this bar. also the bar staff is very friendly and attentive.

10years ago was much better and sadly we can't go back time. Raising a wall (with some sort of tent) in a open-air gay bar goes against any kind of friendliness, openness and sense of freedom that nowadays should be guaranteed in such a place. Big mistake. Huge.
