We purchased tickets on site. >7km riding, it took around half hour. (They say that the bike spped is 15-20 km/h) You can purchase picture with frame (₩15000). Do not wear skirt (they will not print ur picture out)
the 1st railroad-bike amusement park in Korea since 15 years ago. still working well but facilities are outdated and less people crowded
Great fun, even in the rain! The track is slightly downhill so not much effort is required for most of the way. There is a proper train with open sides to return you to the start. Overall 90 mins for the whole thing, but there are only about 6 times a day for departure.
I wasn't the one who got the tickets, so I'm not sure how hard it is to navigate getting them. However, if you at all are able, I highly recommend this! It's a wonderful (and pretty easy) downhill rail bike ride through some of the most beautiful scenes I have seen in Korea so far (I went mid-spring). I will definitely go back for another round. It's great for a family, they have four seater bikes; really good for dates, and good for a day out with friends.
Really fun ride down the valley. Lots of amazing views.
You can ride olden style train
Took the 8:40 ride and was the first team to ride that day. Quite cold in the morning, especially during the ride so I recommend wearing a thick jacket if you're planning to go during autumn-spring season. The staff was kind but they spoke only in Korean (maybe because I spoke to them in Korean as well). Also, be aware that the seats are very hard and uncomfortable. My butt ached so much as soon as the ride started and the pain made it difficult for me and my friend to pedal properly. Other than the cold and the rock-hard seats, the ride was fun and the view was amazing. You get to ride by the river and farms, and through the caves. I wish to try other rail bike spots throughout Korea now. A cute train comes to pick you up at your destination and takes you back to the place where you got on the rail bike (better to take pics at this time than when you're pedaling the bike). We were the first team to reach the destination so we had a few mins to buy a local rice cake (surichi-tteok). It is delicious and I'm having a piece as I am writing this review. Wish I had bought some more (this rice cake is available all over Jeongseon area).
It was sunny hot day, but i didnt sweat! Very relaxing fun activity

(Translated by Google) After seeing the Jeongseon 5-day market, I went to the nearby Hwaam Cave.. At the ticket office right in front of the parking lot, cave entrance fee is 5,000 won for adults, and the monorail to the cave entrance is 3,000 won. They say that if you walk without taking the monorail, it is 700 meters. Since it is summer, I definitely recommend taking it. The monorail runs every 15 minutes and has a capacity of 90 people, but if it is sold out, you will have to wait for the next train. There is a small museum nearby, but the monorail waiting room on the second floor is the coolest in the summer. We walked around the neighborhood and looked around, and the first thing everyone said was right there. The monorail goes up in about 5 minutes, but the air conditioning isn't working so it's a bit hot. Hwaam Cave is 1.8 kilometers long, which is quite long for a cave. Most of the caves are artificial caves developed for gold mining, and there is a natural cave near the exit. I went to Gwangmyeong Cave as an artificial cave, but it felt a little more outdated than Gwangmyeong Cave, perhaps because it was developed earlier. The temperature inside the cave is around 15 to 16 degrees, but the summer heat is unbearable. Rather, it is cold because the cave is long. It is recommended that women and children bring at least a windbreaker. Like any cave, a cool breeze blows through the exit, cooler than the air conditioner, and caves are the best in summer. One of the most well-known traditional local markets in Korea, which opens evey five- day. A variety of wild greens are available.
famous local market in Gang-Won Do area. every 5 days, market opens. good to visit if travel to the area.
Jeongseon Arirang Market was great. It is an orderly and clean market in the countryside. Here I ate suudduck and maemil pancake and tadpole noodles. Then I saw a performance of a poop jangsu. I saw an old lady dancing merrily to the singer's song. It was a short visit but a fantastic experience. The guide told me that there was such a thing to see on the 7th, 12th, 17th, 22nd, 27th, and every weekend. Swallows were common in the awning of the store.
They're open every 5 days but even then they still operate on a smaller scale. They have a lot of herbs gathered from the area, and their very famous mushrooms. Their ginger jeolpyeon(jellies) is so good and spicy.
traditional market in Jeong-seon
I went during sort of the off season, but there was still plenty to shop. Lots of free yummy samples too!
A must stop for experiencing local food and souvenirs, including freshly picked herbs and tea leaves. Try to visit on the days that end in 2 or 7. The full market opens every 5th day.

Korea has many hidden wonders that a person should experience at least once in your life. This place is one of those gems. By itself, the view is truly magnificent and a jewel of nature. Add to that, that the peninsula formed by the Dangang River forms a shape nearly identical to the Korean Peninsula. My description can do no justice to the majesty of this view. You must make it part of your Korea travel journey. One bit if warning however, getting to the vantage point requires climbing alot of stairs, and is not handicap accessible. This place will add yet one more amazing memory to your experience in this incredible country.
It is a little far from Seoul. However, the view is good. It is one of the sights in South Korea.
5 min by car or an hour to walk, but the climb is relentless or a bus from town. Great view and gives a sense of the mountains/hills. There are three viewing areas worth seeing all three as very close by. The walk itself takes about 10 mins once you have looked and taken pictures.
The fee is 2000 won per person walk on the glasses, it remind me one of the scene of the squid game. You need to pick up the good clear day in order to visit this place. Walking around to look at the different view was nice.
Nice view!! Do not miss it
You can see the beauty of Gangwon-do at a glance. If you are afraid of heights, please think again.
Beautiful, Clean washroom, kind staff
Riding the zip line was exhilarating, though 40,000 won was slightly pricey for a 1-2 min ride down the cable.

Very nice place. I came here in 2014 and 2015. Now ten years later I’m back and everything is same beautiful and special. Highly recommend!
I have a very mixed feeling about the Santan Art Mine Museum. I like the idea of utilizing the old mine facility and miners' dormitory building, however this museum completely lacks the storytelling aspect in their curating. It almost feels like a chaotic warehouse where various items from the old mine were thrown into, along with all sorts of artifacts collected by the previous museum director. I wish they described and explained better the history of the Korean mining industry and the hardship miners went through. So overall, it has much potentials and definitely room for improvement. The Native Art gallery on the premise of the museum could have been interesting as well if it allowed for more space between the artifacts and explained the context of items.
The mine part is not really visible, but for old machinery and statues of miners. The art exhibition is in parts of the supporting building. There weren't anyone who spoke English there (apart from a few words), but it wasn't really needed. They had a small café open where you could buy snacks and drinks. There was also a restaurant, but it was empty. To get there, I walked from Gohan station (1 hour). There was a bus station close by, but timetable only in Korean. I liked the mix of industrial machines and handicraft and if that is your thing, a visit is worth it. But it ate up a lot of time for me to get there.
A magical place with enormous amount of things to see pretty much every where you go. They also offer few rooms for guests but reservations can be made only by phone.
This is a fun place to visit and learn about the history of the area and step into a not so distant past of coal mining in Gangwon-do. During peak tourist season their cafe and restaurant are open. But even without it's an interesting place to see nodern art and Korean history collide.
Excellent place to learn about history of Korean mining industry. Very clean and well preserved. Plus, nice place for modern art lovers.
Great museum with an industrial feel. Definitely enjoyed the outdoor art.

It's very nice place. It's worth a visit as well as the museum next to it
Good place to see multiple architectures of traditional Korean houses. It's a little bit small. There is free parking at the entrance.
It was really nice especially the Arirang song's perfermance. The majority of small shops were closed cause it was not a touristic period. I think it's better during summer but still nice with autumn colors. No English speaking staff.
