The views from the hilltop are breathtaking, and the castle itself is impressively preserved. One of the most fascinating parts is that this was once a major Templar stronghold and even the childhood home of King James I of Aragon, who was trained here by the Templars. Walking through the ancient dormitories, chapel, and towers really gives you a sense of how powerful and mysterious this place must have been in its prime. We spent a couple of hours exploring and could’ve stayed even longer. The interpretive center is very informative, and the atmosphere is unique—especially for anyone interested in medieval history, castles, or the legend of the Templars. Highly recommended, especially if you can visit during the annual Homenaje Templario festival. A hidden gem in Aragón that truly brings history to life.
