This was the perfect setting for my daughter's engagement, at sunset at the top! The caretaker of the castle even let us stay beyond closing hours to let them continue celebrating. So special and kind. It was absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful view from the top. Steep and slippery hike up on cobblestone so wear sneakers, but worth it. Stop in the visitor center to see the underground ruins.
Amazing views from the top. Compact castle with not an massive amount of things to see inside. But lete face it, most people don’t climb up for the artifacts.
Quite the hike alllllll the way to the top but it had great views! And clean toilets. Rocky path is steep in areas and can be slick (yes, even when dry). Be careful!
This is a “must” if you’re somewhere nearby Ronda, only 2h away from Malaga. We spent half a day there, exploring the charming town of Zahara and did the hike to the castle on top (3€ fee).
Well worth the visit, though it is a climb to the top, which is hard work in the heat of the day. There is not much shade on the way up. Some of the pathways and stairs are slippy underfoot, so wear grippy footwear. Excellent views.
What an amazing little village, and the walk up to the castle, and the castle itself offer fantastic sceneries. If you are in the area it's definitely worth also visiting this town!
Less touristy than the other white villages in the area of Seville. We loved climbing to the top of the mountain to get a nice view of the reservoir and mountains. We went there on a tour booked on Airbnb. It was amazing.

Beautiful church, fee 1€ but worth it. Very nice and old
Amazing! It was a very special day, ‘Corpus Christi’! Accidentally we ran into such a holiday event in the village, the streets, walls in the town center were fully covered with grasses and flowers! Stunning scene! The village performs an unique way to celebrate this holiday. Peoples are nicely dressed, laughing, loudly chatting...impressive!
The Santa Maria de la Mesa church is a small but beautiful and impressive church in the centre of the historic mountain township setting of Zahara de la Sierra. As you can see from the photos here, it has an interesting Baroque architecture. It also has a small museum. The church is well worth visiting on your way to the castle, Castillo of Zahara de la Sierra.
This lady healed my leg. I think it is called a miracle. I have two witnesses who can verify that before entering the church I could hardly walk and when I left I could run. I hope I am not starting a pilgrimage to this tiny chapel.
A beautiful church with a beautiful view.
(Translated by Google) Church in the square. Very pretty. We saw it from the outside. Next to the area with bars, shops, and a viewing platform. (Original) Iglesia en la plaza. Muy bonita. La vimos por fuera. Al lado de la zona de bares, comercios y un mirador al lado.
(Translated by Google) A normal village church and they charge you one euro to enter. Shame on them. Besides, the Treasury takes note. If they charge you to enter, it's not dedicated to worship. So, they should pay property tax and take away their tax allocation, and we'll save more than 300 million euros.
(Translated by Google) Charming squares in Andalusia. To the right of the church is one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Zahara de la Sierra, placing the entire town at your feet. Great views of the reservoir. The climb is very slow, but the descent is very fast, hehe... It's definitely a must-see. You won't regret it. Fun fact: the traffic light is adorable. Can you see it in the photo? No te arrepentirás. Dato curioso: el semáforo es una cucada, ¿Lo ves en la foto?

Fab :) we visited on a week day, it wasn't too busy, I'm sure it would be busy on the weekend. There was parking available, and the guy in the carpark was very helpful. It cost €3.50 entrance, well worth it, its very well maintained, the water is lovely and clean, and there's plenty of spots to sit in the shade with a picnic. Felt very chilled, and safe for children. Lovely day out :)
I'm hooked, straight away got to my list of favourite places. Might be small and man-made but damn it's beautiful, with super clean, cold (yes!) water. Perfect for the 40 degree heat. Crowded, but bearable, during the summer weekend, an absolute bliss during the week. Bonus - restaurant serving really good menu del día with several choices at an excellent price. I'll keep on coming back, for sure. Bonus - free motorhome parking (not overnight though!).
Really nice please but very busy on the weekends. Coffee and restaurant very good food. We would love to do the Zip line but is not open yet !!! We hope they open soon should be a nice expirience
Lots of shade and breezy when the area around is sweltering hot. Well equipped with a family area, cafe and bar and a restaurant. There’s picnic tables too, which you can reserve at the weekends, and play areas for kids if you have them. This is a cool spring water artificial lake that’s accessible and welcoming. Gorgeous setting.
It's the best place for s swim in fresh water. They even have a bar and they way their staff is trained is amazing. Everyone is so charming and nice and I loved the way they made us feel at home. David and his team are amazing and the security guard Jose is also the most gente and kind man I have met in a very long time. I can't wait to come back and see them all again.
Very nice place with super clean and super cool water. It is really great in hot days. It is not natural place, as we tought, but still great.
Nice place for a day trip but parking is a dirt car park. The showers also dont work and the toilets dont have any toilet paper.
A pleasant small nature pool has hidden inside the mountain. A side way out of mountain road where is easily skipped. It’s late June and the parking lots are fully occupied! That surprised me for the first time, but soon I understand the reason. Crystal clear cold water with green surroundings and blue sky, how lovely! A little escape for locals, families favorite spot. People laughing, children playing, birds singing... We enjoyed our picnic and swimming in few hours over here.

We had a lovely experience at Bar el Gallo. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was very good — we ordered asparagus, croquettes, and paella, all of which were delicious and nicely prepared. A great spot for a relaxed meal with warm service!
I hate being this blunt, but I cant help it here. Without a doubt the worst meal we had in Spain. The tuna salad was inedible: big pieces of tasteless iceberg salad, unripe tomato, canned carrots and beetroot and canned tuna + no dressing. Unforgivably low standard for a restaurant. The mushroom croquettes were so oddly gooey that we couldn't eat them. Pick anywhere else if you care the least about food!
What an absolute gem. Between the four of us, we ordered 4 share plates, our favourite being the Aubergine dish. Would highly recommend this bar if you are passing through 😋
We loved the welcoming atmosphere here under the new management(Abbas and Yassi). A highlight was the fantastic brownie with ice cream—absolutely delicious! The staff was also exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making for a wonderful experience.
When we were there they had no coffee, no olive oil and no juices! The food was delicious but quite over-priced, and there wasn't much choice open in the rest of the town. The goats cheese was lovely as was the patatas bravas. Felt quite commercial and touristy
Ate here with my wife We had solomillo with home made chips and salad All excellent 👌
Very good food and amazing price … staff very nice but very very busy !!!!
Memorable dinner with delicious wine and excellent tapas. Tomato salad was the highlight

a charming almazara that produces unfiltered olive oil—rich, cloudy, and bursting with natural flavor. They harvest and press the olives with care, preserving every drop’s essence. It’s like tasting the soul of Andalusia!
A wonderful experience! The organic olive oil is produced sustainably, without wasting even the smallest by-product. The quality is excellent, as you will learn from the owner himself, who explains everything with great passion. As an added bonus, you get a sensational view of the white Andalusian village of Zahara. This oil mill is a must-see!
I was talking about this place for days afterwards. It was a great experience from start to finish. The owner is very knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to describe the olive oil making process. Lunch and wine are included in the $25 euro price. The lunch was set outside looking at the Zahara de la Sierra town in the distance. I want to bring my family here when they come visit from the US. He also spoke in English which was another nice touch. Definitely recommend
Beautiful olive oil production set in the hills. The tour guide explained everything and her English was perfect. Sampled 9 different varieties and infusions and had and incredible lunch. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Will bring family and friends back here for sure!
7/2021: Update: our second visit - this time with visiting family in tow. Another amazing lesson on the olive oil production process from this small regional cooperative. Traditional tapas following the tour with excellent wine and food. The experience is top notch, as are their olive oils. Beautiful country side, views for miles. Add this tour to your must-do list! 9/2020: A tour, a tasting, and an amazing tapas lunch! Learn the process as local farmers deliver olives for pressing and how much of the olive is put to use not just for oil. From livestock feed to biomass fuel. And the lunch was truly amazing - go just for the food and the view! Get lots of their amazing olive oil to go and some of the wine too - you won’t regret it!
We two made a tour/tasting reservation, and so visited in Sep 2023 during our drive from Seville to Ronda. Gorgeous view of the village of Zahara. We were the only two visitors for a tour of the production facility followed by olive oil tastings and ending with a glass of the farm’s wine. We especially enjoyed learning the production process. The olive oil tasting was made up of two non-infused oils and several infused oils. It was a fun and worthwhile visit.
Fran was the greatest tour guide for our visit to Oleum Viride. We loved learning about their process of making olive oil and we learned so much. So much of what I thought about olive oil was not right. The lunch in their orchard was probably one of the best meals we had while in Spain. I look forward to getting my shipment of olive oil.
A beautiful tour with an extremely knowledgeable owner. The olive oil is delicious and so is the included lunch. Great experience — highly recommended.
