Museum is interesting, especially for kids. Were here for a wedding with about 50 guests, it's a prime event location in my opinion. Superb menu, super-friendly staff. 💯
Nice little museum with a beautiful and well ran restaurant. I visited with our two year old, who had a blast walking around and exploring the different buildings and watching the animals. Perfect for a few hours and the restaurant is great for a break. We are very happy we came.
A very nice place where to spent a couple of hours with friends or family. To see life about 100 years ago and feel the atmosphere of that period. And if you are tired, just try something from the kitchen or their own made beer 🍻 🤩
Visited for the Christmas Market. Old and traditional. A few stalks dotted around, selling handcraft items, food and drink stalls too. Restaurant open aswell. Wear sensible footwear as some areas very muddy. A great day out.
Lovely village near a lovely lake. The beer and food are also good there.
Very cool. Lots to see. Excellent restaurant and not expensive. Saibling, potatoes, salad and a beer about 16€
Wonderful place to get a feeling how life looked like in the past in the Alpine villages.
Fun to see how they lived 100+ years ago. Stopped for a wonderful lunch, zehr gut!

If you are a whisky lover then this place is worth a visit. This is a local bavarian single malt distillery. You can take a tour of the whole process that goes into the makings of whisky. The shop is huge, beautiful and has a splendid collection of whisky, liquers etc. Do try out their whisky chocolates.......they are to die for. Attached to the distillery is quaint cafe where you can stop for food and drinks. They have a stunning view outside which can be enjoyed with great food.
A wonderful experience, professionally presented, delicious whisky, and a treat to have a snack and coffee on site. Then to taste the selection of whisky on sale overlooking the snow covered fields.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An unforgettable experience for whisky lovers and curious visitors alike! Slyrs Distillery is a must-visit gem nestled in the heart of Bavaria. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence that runs through every part of the experience. The team here truly loves what they do, and it shows—in the warm hospitality, the depth of knowledge they share, and of course, in every single bottle they produce. The highlight is the tour of the state-of-the-art distillery, where traditional craftsmanship meets cutting-edge technology. It’s a fascinating look behind the scenes at how world-class Bavarian single malt whisky is made, and it's clear that no detail is too small when it comes to quality. The tasting room is beautifully curated, offering the chance to sample a variety of expressions—each one telling its own story. Whether you’re a seasoned whisky connoisseur or just discovering the world of single malts, you’re sure to find a bottle (or several!) to fall in love with. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the shop at the end of your tour—it’s well-stocked, and the staff are more than happy to help you find something special to take home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the region—this is more than a distillery, it’s an experience built on passion, precision, and true Bavarian spirit. My personal Favourite is Slyrs 51
An absolutely beautiful distillery, and a great Whisky experience for enthusiasts. Set against the Bavarian greenery and landscape, this is definitely a unique stop if you're in the area, and it's worth the travel from Munich of you like Whisky. Had great fun visiting the distillery and then tasting some of their crafts with Thomas operating the bar.
The store itself is very nicely decorated with beautiful ambience lights. They do have a nice restaurant with amazing views of the Alps, and their food does sound delicious. Unfortunately we could not eat because of the time restrictions. By the time we reached, they had already closed the kitchen. But it is a cool place to visit.
If you have not discovered the Slyrs distillery by now, you are missing a lot my friends! Excellent whisky distillery with ever expanding products. My favourite remains the 51 followed by the peat one. The organic one is also worth trying. I have not seen that before.
Love this place! We did the self guided tour which was perfect since you go at your own pace and get to learn the process of whiskey distilling. The bar at the end for tasting is magnificent!
A very informative and interesting visit. Lovely whiskies and beautiful environment.

Amazing place to spend time with your loved ones. It is a complete package for a stay/short visit with friends or family with kids. We loved our short visit with friends. Amazing views, great coffee and desserts. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again with family.
We were here for a sunset beer on a Sunday. The views are great, the service is tolerable, food selection is predictable with good quality. Seating with the best view is reserved for hotel guests, so don't you dare to sit there! If you do, you'll be shooed away very quickly, but then you get to see it happen to other people as well. So, built-in entertainment.
It's a very peaceful walk up. We couldn't come down by the toboggan as it was drizzling- so used the cable car instead. Food and drinks are available on top
Beautiful view over the valley.
Nice cable car taking you from Schliersee to the Alm. The trip lasts not more than 5 mins. On the top there is a minigolf, trampoline park, a playground and a swimming pool. The rodelbahn is fun and can be done together with kids.
Had a lovely time here. Took the cable car up and sledge down the mountain. Went hiking during our time here. Amazing view and people are also very friendly
Nice place to go out with family. Best place for trekking and sledging. After all the fun don't forget to have a quick swim down the lake to refresh yourselves again. Spoiler alert!! before going, check out the traffic on highway routes especially on holidays and if i may suggest go early to have a best and free parking spot.
The beautiful cable car to reach the Schliersberg Alm. There is a hotel here which has a gorgeous restaurant and a beautiful beer-garden. The cable car has a 15 minute frequency during normal operation hours and a 30 minute frequency after 20:00 until 22:00. It is recommended to be at the cable car lastest by 21:30 to not miss the last ride.

Despite the missing lake access, I give the Monte Mare Schliersee Sauna a 5-star review. I've been visiting in the summer of 2023 with my the Munich Tech Sauna (techsauna.dev) community after a night in a hut at Spitzingsee (Blecksteinhaus, to be exact). The sauna is modern and has a large outside area with great views of the nearby lake Schliersee and the mountains surrounding the lake. You will also find a great restaurant and seating inside, it's all in a very modern and relaxing style. When it comes to sauna infusions, we had an amazing time there. The outdoor sauna featured a great infusion with music I loved so much, that we looked it up. It was perfectly performed, 3 rounds and just the right level of heat and duration. I really highly recommend to try this out. Of course you will also find a large outdoor whirlpool there, inside cold basins, a steam bath and more saunas at different heat levels there.
Small but nice spa. No direct access to lake. Aufguss every hour. The best is kelo sauna. The interior layout is a bit confusing. Many rooms and doors to get through. But for a couple of hours of relax it's a good choice
Very nice and super clean spa. We had a super relaxing massage with Ines, who was very kind and professional, several saunas with Aufguss every hour, outdoor pool and jacuzzi, relaxing rooms with incredible views…Highly recommendable experience!
Cool place to relax) the view is gorgeous) you can swim in the swimming pool and enjoy the view of the lake) sauna and jacuzzi are great)
My friends and me had a wonderful time on Sunday 8th of January at Monte Mare Schliersee :) The Receptionist, the sauna personal and the view to the mountain's and the sea were amazing.
It's a real challenge to be there...but once ..is a beautiful price !! It's a great place to share in family. There's a swimming pool, mini golf , playground, a slide!! ....and a cable cart!! It's a restaurant, and a hotel... beautiful place🇩🇪❤️
Average at best. You pay too much and get too little. Neither the outdoor pool nor the little hot tub is heated properly. The place is overrun with hordes of people too often. Watch out for thieves: someone stole our kids' ball once and my wife's shampoo was stolen twice. Yet another place ruined by white trash!
Great view over the lake. The saunas are modern and well maintained, their number is rather limited though - on a busy day it might be more crowded than what suits you.. We went there on a bank holiday and it was still very comfortable, loungers available, etc. It wasn't winter yet tough, so the outside loungers were still in use.

We went skiing on the opening day this year and had a great time! Lovely place, great friendly staff. Although I’m not a great skier my daughter is and being from the US it was fun to get some early skiing in for her. Great little bar at the end of the run (happy for that)!
I like the rather long, rather broad slopes where you can do some nice carving. I was here on Sunday and it was good skiing until around 12. Hopefully, they will get some more snow and colder days so the slopes can be prepared well again.
We went skiing with #Bigfoot and #Littlefeet on a Sunday at the Spitzingsee ski resort. From Munich, you can be there in an hour by car. We drove to the lake and along it to the valley station at the Stümpfling lift. There is a large car park there. We were lucky and there was still a parking space available, as we arrived a little later in the morning. The day ticket for families costs 112 euros. There are also a few euros for the car park ticket, which costs around 15 euros on its own. And then it's back to the toilet and onto the lift up the mountain. The ski area is geared towards families and accordingly focuses on red and blue pistes and few black slopes. The chairlifts and anchor lifts are all a little older, which you can tell, and have room for a maximum of four people. Completely sufficient. As for the huts, we stayed at the Jagahüttn at the top of the Stümpfling. Good food, good service and drinks as well as a beautiful view. By the way, if you want, you can ski over in the direction of Tegensee or Rottach Egern. A long red piste leads down in that direction. Insider tip: the longest sunny day is at the Jagahüttn. And if you go here a little later for dinner, i.e. 2.00pm/14.30pm, you'll also get a nice seat. The pistes are all well groomed, but there are always changes between slushy and icy, partly because of the forest and of course because we had sunshine. Ultimately, however, the ski area is extensive and you can also find quieter routes away from the central pistes. For all families for whom the Oedberg has too few pistes and Steinplatte & Co. are too far away, the Spitzingsee ski area and Sudelfeld just behind it are good alternatives that we can only recommend!
Omg sooo much fun! 🤩 crazy fun, like if you like playing Mario Cart, this is a similar feeling, bananas and all! Wheeeee! 🏎️🏎️🏁🏁🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️🤩🤩🤪🤪😎😎
Great skiing, but the town doesn't really have anything to do. No decent restaurants (in my opinion) just and Edeka and a couple cafés. They have a good selection of stores to buy/rent stuff last minute. The people tend to be a little unfriendly but on the mountain everyone's really nice. Not too expensive. - LK
Pretty decent. I am not a pro skier but the area had some odd connections from the top. Not as well connected with easy paths and no gondolas to take you down. You have to ski down. But I did find some good slopes to practice on which were very wide. One thing I didn't enjoy was the bar next to the main Gondola. The staff were way too stuck up.
Mountain cart is insane! Go there during the summer and take a ride, but don't forget to break! Speeds above 50 km/h are easily possible.
Really to Munich and awesome place for skiing and enjoy family time there.
