Small but amazing powder. We wanted to try Taco hi course which is the longest course in Japan. We got to mountain too late (around 9:30) and ticket was already sold out. Mountain is limiting people for 75 people for a day ( only 3 shuttle bus ) the lady told us that ticket will most likely be sold out 8:00-8:30. If you have the pass, you can enjoy amazing powder and really not many people. We rode some parts of 2nd stage it was heavenly! We quickly realized we will not be able to go back to resort, so we hike back to the slope😅 Mountain is pretty laid back about tree runs as long as you are sticking to 1st stage. There are lots of area to explore. Parking gets quickly packed so recommended to get there before 10:00. There is no rest area as small mountain. But there are some restaurant at the bottom. 見晴茶屋is super good. Yummy food, huge portion, homemade cheese and ice cream 🍦 There is a heater for every table, so you can dry off your staff while you enjoy your amazing lunch !
Only THREE lifts! But loads of fun runs. Not too busy due to the fact that busses and coaches can't get up there so it's mainly locals and people with their own vehicles. Good food and nice hotels as well.
Small ski resort with great powder snow. Yamaboku has the longest run in Japan but it’s only open on weekends.
A nice little skiing resort outside Nakano. Not very large with a few restaurants at the starting point. The chair lifts are really outdated and not safe compared to European standards. Ski rental is available, but equipment seems to be from the 80s. So better bring your own stuff. The slopes are ok and most of them not prepared.
(Translated by Google) A ski resort I've always wanted to go to. I finally visited when the cold wave hit. Although it is a small ski resort with 3 lifts, lift tickets are very reasonably priced. In the winter, the roads are closed and the snow quality is excellent as it is essentially Shiga Kogen. Overall, the courses are gentle, but it is a ski resort that mainly uses uncompacted snow, so I think it is a great ski resort for powder lovers. However, there is no ski center or rest area, so I don't think it's suitable for families. I think the most appealing thing about this ski resort is its hospitality. The staff are all very pleasant and make you feel welcome and welcome. I got the impression that they were trying out various things that other ski resorts don't have, and that they were run by people who love skiing and snowboarding so that customers who love skiing and snowboarding could have fun. It seems that many of the people using the service love snowy mountains and have good manners. The scenery is amazing when combined with the blue sky. Rather than the beautiful view from a typical ski resort, the view of the ski resort itself is beautiful. Even if it's not powder, I think it's worth it just to ski sideways through this scenery.
(Translated by Google) Visited twice this season, mountains in Hakuba and Myoko areas You can enjoy skating while looking at the scenery. The 70% uncompacted snow area looks like it can be enjoyed after snowfall, but we were unable to find it this season and are looking forward to next season. Lift ticket: ¥2,500 on weekdays - about 1 hour from Nagano Station Miharu Chaya's cheese menu is delicious and reasonably priced. This is a recommended ski resort.
(Translated by Google) It's in the mountains, about an hour from Suzaka. The round trip on the winding road would be difficult in winter. In summer, it's a peaceful ranch.
(Translated by Google) We went on a weekday. The lift ticket was 2,500 yen! It was better than I expected. It was very empty, with hardly any people around. Maybe around 20 people. You have to climb quite a mountain pass to get to the ski resort, so if it's snowing, it's probably going to be tough unless you have a 4WD. We couldn't ski the famous Takochi course because it was a weekday, but the bus going uphill also requires reservations for 25 people. Since there aren't many customers, there's less competition for powder snow. In addition to the basic courses, there's also tree runs, so the ski area is wide. The ungroomed area is large, so you can enjoy it even if it's snowing. The first lift at the bottom has a shallow slope, so it's recommended for beginners. It's empty, so you can let your kids ski without worry. We ate at Miharashichaya. It has a retro atmosphere, and they have homemade cheese that you can only find on a farm, and the pizza, stewed offal, etc. are delicious. The Takochi course and 2nd stage are important products of this ski resort. Entering without permission is strictly prohibited. Day-trip bathing at Koyokan in Shichimi Onsen, a hidden hot spring, is available from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Oyu in Yamada Onsen is open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The "free coffee" is very appreciated, and after taking a bath, everyone almost always receives coffee from the staff and takes a break☕️ The building is filled with the warmth of wood, and the warmth of the fireplace in front of the front desk is also comforting♡ It's also fun to look at the agricultural products and crafts♪ When you enter the indoor bath, there is a faint smell of iron. It's not a strong smell, so it's not unpleasant! The source is cold, so it is heated. The water outlet is hot, but if you move away from there, it is the perfect temperature. It has a very sweating effect, and your skin will easily get slightly red and hot, so you can't take a long bath🥵 It's best to take breaks in between baths! The bath heals both your body and mind♨️ As you sweat, your daily fatigue will also disappear♡ It's not only great for recovering from fatigue, but it also has a health-promoting effect, so it's great‼ ︎ You can expect various benefits, and if it's close by, you'll want to go there every day‼ ︎‼ ︎ The locals also said that out of all the hot springs in the area, Koyasu Onsen is the one that warms you up the most and keeps you warm for a long time🔥 And that's certainly true! Even after I got home, the warmth continued all the way down to the tips of my fingers and toes~😊 It's great that you can even enter just to eat a stylish lunch in the dining hall🍽️ You can also relax in the large tatami room, so you can take your time😴 (Original)
Excellent hot spring because of quality of spring. However, I encountered a local woman who made me not to return this place again. I hope that is only her who thinks she owns that place. She obviously come here many times (from color of her towel) directly enter a tub from a changing area without taking shower. Doesn't she have a manner of a public bath which foreigners are almost always perceived as luck of having it. She pushed me away from a corner of a tub where hot spring flow in. She hadn't moved away from there until I got out. I gave up enjoying HOT hot spring I could only get nearby stream.
(Translated by Google) Visited in April 2025. It's a hidden gem, tucked away from the main road, operating quietly and unobtrusively. Before it opened, there were about three customers waiting in their cars. It's open for day trips only, but there's a campsite nearby. The water is a brown iodine spring with a bit of iron, and is very high in metaboric acid, a disinfectant. It was truly excellent water. They also sell locally grown vegetables and have a restaurant, making it a hot spring you'll want to return to again and again. On a hot day like today, it's fine to just enjoy the hot spring water as it is. It's usually bustling with local residents, but I was able to relax and enjoy the quiet. There are three showers, conditioner-in-shampoo, and body soap. There's only an indoor bath, no open-air bath. The bathtub and floor are both made of wood, which is nice. This hot spring contains iodine, which is rare and good for the skin. At the reception, seasonal vegetables and fruits brought by local residents are on sale. Today, Nagano Purple was cheap at 500 yen per pack, so I ended up buying two. The bath is also 500 yen per adult. There were quite a few cars in the parking lot. We went there to climb Hafu-dake, but to be honest, the view was so good that it would have been satisfying even without climbing. Looking east, you can see Mt. Asama, and looking west, you can see all the way to the Northern Alps. While climbing Hafu-dake, we could see motorbikes constantly coming and going, which must have been popular with motorcyclists. Not only is there a sign like that, but the scenery is also beautiful. Absolutely stunning. ━━━ This is a pass that straddles Nagano and Gunma prefectures. As the name suggests, there are almost no trees. Sulfur mining began here in 1916, and the trees died due to the associated cutting down and sulfur dioxide gas. At its peak, it was the second largest mine in Japan, but it closed in 1971. Dangerous gases still spurt from the mine, and the road is closed at the prefectural border. ━━━ The "danger ahead" warning is apparently due to toxic gases. The road to get here is extremely dangerous, with places where passing others can be difficult, so please exercise caution. But, despite the challenges, it's well worth the journey. Needless to say, the views are amazing, and you can see the remains of the aerial cableway, which is a sight you would never see if you were living a normal life. (Translated by Google) I took my children, a second-grader and a kindergartener, to the spa during a summer vacation. The pool admission fee includes access to the hot springs, making it a bargain! They also have a water slide, and children must be 110cm tall to go down it. My daughter, who is in kindergarten, is exactly 110cm tall, but they gave her a swim ring and she enjoyed sliding down it! It looked like she had a great time on her first water slide! Perhaps because it was after the Obon holidays, it wasn't too crowded, and my second-grader just enjoyed sliding down the water slide (lol). Lockers cost 100 yen, but they're refundable. The hot spring is small, but there are indoor and outdoor baths. Rinse-in shampoo and body soap were provided. You'll probably get hungry after the pool and hot springs. However, there's no convenience store, so I recommend bringing snacks with you. Ice cream is available from a vending machine. You can get ramen, curry, and other rice dishes at Yu-Yu-Tei next door. They even deliver to the rest area!
