This is a gem. Used to be top-10 in continental Europe and the layout and ambience is totally amazing. 100% worth the 150 euro (buggy and rental included). 5-6 hole + 17/18 is something you will never forget. We played in July and the clubhouse was under construction So a bit chaotic when you arrive but the staff is very welcoming despite their hard working conditions. Rentals are way too old and scruffy. Cart paths is very very bumpy but this is an old course and definitely one of my favorites in Algarve. I can highly recommend this course to everyone
Played Sunday 18th May 2025 Mixed opinions of this as an experience. One thing is clear, this course has huge potential, and maybe once upon a time was in much better shape. New owners need to spend a couple of seasons investing. No club house as others have mentioned. Burnt down Tent in place to store buggies. Snacks soft drinks and beer from a temporary unit put in place. Reception in a temporary unit. Toilets 1 male and female plumbed temp unit in place. Service 4 star Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Was given a snack bag with Apple, Oat bar and bottle of water for the round. Kept our luggage and travel bags safe in reception hut with them as we played our last round before heading to airport. Tee boxes 3.5 star Mixed. Some in good shape, others not. Nothing was terrible, but remember this was €190 with shared buggy. Fairways 3 star. Poor and patchy in areas, not good enough for the price. Again nothing horrific. Greens 4.5 star Played true, in good shape. Likely around 10 speed. Free pitch repairers given out to assist help maintain. Cart paths. 1 star Shocking, cobbled cart paths. Place you head covers back on after each shot! All need digging up and doing again. Views 5 star Likely how this course made its name! Stunning as you move around the coastal holes. Overall, we got around in about 4h30 mins. I'm glad to say that I have played this. I would say, for €230 or so, the 40 extra it would have cost to play QDL north or south, would suggest this is overpriced. €150 for buggy and round per person would be a fair algarve golf price. With Vila Sol costing €120 PP with buggy, similar course condition played the day before, without the views, 150 would be fairer. 4 star overall, beautiful views, great greens, really narrow and open to make you think hole to hole, with a lovely 18th hole over water to finish and good service.
What a great layout and a fabulous experience. Tee boxes and fairways are a little scrappy but this is normal for late summer. The greens were OK. Very spongy and a little slow but again, this is normal for the summer. The course is surrounded by amazing houses, beautiful views and a picturesque landscape. The course is not what it used to be 20 years ago but still a great test. I hope that additional investment will go into the course to improve the detailing of the course (greens, fringes, bunkers etc....) and then I can give a 5 star rating. Service was perfect, very kind employees during check in and the lads managing the carts were extremely polite and kind. I will be back. San Lorenzo :)
Despite there being no clubhouse (burned down), I had a memorable experience. The course is in great condition with many memorable holes. Would definitely book this again. Thanks for the lunch provided in the brown paper bag.
Golf at San Lorenzo Golf Course is a beautiful and challenging experience, love the finishing 18th An unforgettable round of golf. Very friendly welcome by all the staff members special thanks to Alex.
Despite everything I've read and the sad fire that destroyed the clubhouse, the course remains one of the most natural, beautiful pieces of land you'll find. Sure the buildings around it are getting bigger and more Bond every visit but the golf, layout and the people make it very special.
Had a great game of golf here. It's not a hugely long course but most holes require a level of thinking on your tee shot and also second shots. The greens were quick and rolling very true, yet soft when hitting into from a distance. Has some very good views and water holes as well as very nice homes dotted around the course.
Played twice and enjoyed course. Some tricky narrow holes which were hard for the mid 20 handicappers. Lost a fair number of balls. Nice holes by coast. Would play again for sure. Course not in great condition but ok. 3 star as no one mentioned when booking that club house burned down two years ago and new club house is likely to be another two years Operating out of a porta cabin and porta loos. Not quite what you expect. Arranged pick up and hour and a half after playing as like to sit and have a beer. Basically sit on a bit of scrap land on basic seats with beers from cabin. Staff fine. But don't expect any facilities to change or food which is part of the experience. Definitely should be informed when book

One of the best round of golf I played in a beautifully laid out course which was in immaculate condition. Loved club house with little things like before and after sun lotion, shower facilities. Buggies with gps, ball cleaner, sand, club cleaner - first time experiencing in my 7 years of golf. There were some challenging holes but overall an enjoyable day on a challenging course. Finished off with beers and some wonderfully tasty light eat at clubhouse. Overall a win for us at Laranjal (oh oranges tasted yumm too)
My favourite course in Quinta - but time and time again it’s overbooked. 5hr20 round. No sign of any marshalls all day. We even rang the clubhouse to ask them to get out and speed it up. Lot of non/beginner golfers - which is cool as we all played that way once. But stopping mid hole for the cart girl, when there’s two groups waiting at the tee is crazy. Overall- day was ruined by slow play and lack of speeding up. Annoying as its an incredible course, very well kept, and priced as such !
Lovely course in absolutely beautiful condition. All staff really helpful from the start. Teed off at 7:52am on 22/12/23 and virtually had the course to myself, greens were running very true and whilst not lightning quick they were quick enough. Fairways generous enough so you can open your shoulders a bit. Played off the golf tee markers, challenge yourself with the blacks if you can hit it long enough. Would definitely recommend
This course is stunning, one of the best on the algarve, a strong recommend to play here. Each hole is very different and challenging for all abilities. The club house is small but perfect for a beer and some lunch. Really couldn't fault this place at all, in my view its better than the south course too
Without doubt the most beautiful course I've ever played. Also without doubt the slowest pace of play and worst golf etiquette I've experienced. As well as being held up 30 minutes on one hole the people behind us got impatient and started hitting down on us. The buggy geo fencing malfunctioned and we had to drive one hole in reverse. I'd love to play it again, only next time I'd get a tee time first thing in the morning.
Over 5hrs to play it today, absolutely ridiculous, lots of non golfers play, complete lack of etiquette, shouting across fairway, not raking bunkers and not one marshal in sight. I for one won't come back. We had the same issue with Quinta south yesterday, they did have a marshal who told us on the 5th that he had spoken to the groups in front but nothing changed. They don't seen to care. The courses were in great condition.
Really disappointed. A lovely course ruined by tee times too close together. Almost 6 hours of stop start golf with four groups on each hole. We spoke to the course and booking agent who said it's been a real problem recently.
AVOID playing here. Course is in great condition but they are booking too many tee times. On just the second hole we waited for 3 x 4 balls to play it in front of us. 5 1/2 round, waiting on every tee, every second/third shot. Complained at the club house and they simply didn’t care. Such a shame.

However, if you appreciate designer brands and a sophisticated environment, Quinta Shopping is a must-visit destination in the Algarve. In summary, Quinta Shopping offers an elegant and enjoyable retail experience in a beautiful setting, making it a highlight for those visiting Quinta do Lago.
A small shopping center, some nice bars and restaurants, Blu Cafe is great for lunch, some really nice dishes, the Cheeky Pup bar is also good for food.
Nice place to chill out, some lovely speciality shops and eating places. Located on the outskirts of Faro with underground garages and small parking area at ground level
Nice atmosphere and Blue restaurant excellent..
Over priced upmarket and sterile. The only exception is The Cheeky Pup, with great bar food, drinks and atmosphere
Stunning area an absolute must for all visitors
Lovely upmarket place. We've been to Tony's Italian restaurant twice, which is brilliant. There's another two pubs and a wine bar, which all look great, but we've not tried them yet. Will do in the future though.
Lovely place with multiple shops restaurants to relax and enjoy the sunshine

Highly recommend this place. Small sandy beach with beds to rent, you can swim in the calm lake along with all the fish. Much preferred it to the beach. Inflatable fun for kids with pedalos, boats and jet skis. Staff friendly, shame it was so quiet expected it to be packed. Definitely worth visiting.
An exceptional experience from start to finish. Located within a world-class resort, Artur Water Sports Center offers top-tier service and a wide range of water activities with the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The staff were not only experienced and attentive, but also genuinely warm and welcoming. The equipment was in pristine condition, and the surroundings are stunning!
Good range of activities. Staff very friendly and helpful. A bit too expensive, like everything else in the area though. Concession only beach, so you aren't allowed to sunbathe without hiring a sunbed.
Why have you deleted my review? Shame on you and your organization… this morning the water park was closed, then some kids got in and they were “illegal”, then private party and now testing the amenities…
Shame on you and your organization… this morning the water park was closed, then some kids got in and they were “illegal”, then private party and now testing the amenities…
Very expensive private resort where they feel they can make the rules up as they go. 60 euros for 3hrs water sports, some things are 1 euro a minute. A massive 40 euros for sun beds. When you put your towel on the sand and your umbrella up your told "your own umbrella is not allowed". Then after sitting on the sand for 4hrs after removing the umbrella, your told "your not allowed to sit on the sand on your own towel". Maybe it was because sun beds had come available by then. Greedy pure greedy. Don't mind the 60 euros kids had fun its all the other little rip off's attached. Won't be coming back.
Shame on Artur’s water sports academy, today, July 19th, we came from Spain as we do every year. They told us the water park was closed, a few minutes later we saw a group of kids playing inside, then, we asked again if it was open, and again they told us that those kids trespassed the line and they will be kicked out immediately, 15 minutes later, there was another group playing inside. I went to the tent and request an explanation, then they told me that there was a private party and they were “checking” the security of the park. I told her it was difficult to understand, either they weee in a private party or the were checking the security… very sad they have all the kids awaiting for the opening and they blocked the park only for a few kids.
Great fun and easy to deal with. The seem to have loads of equipment (kayaks, paddle boards, little electric boats, pedalos etc.) and reasonably priced (considering where we are). Great opportunity to head around the lake and have a nose into the ridiculous villas!
