What a cracking little place!!! Took my little boy here! I'm not sure who enjoyed it more! Him or me 😁!! There's play areas indoors and out! There's a huge paddock where you can walk freely around the ponies and donkeys! They're very sweet and they all look very well looked after. They have two American Mammoth Donkeys which I didn't even know were a thing among other animals. They even have Unicorns there!!! There's lots of activities, for the size of it there's surprisingly a lot to see and do including lovely little nature walks to the pond with the ducks and walking/grooming/riding the ponies. There's of course a gift shop and a tea room! The food was lovely and reasonably priced although I wasn't keen on the fact they leave food lying on the floor until the end of day 😬 The only thing I would say is don't use the toilets if you're afraid of spiders because there are some Biiiiigggg 8 legged creatures in there!! Overall though, definitely a great trip out!!
Amazing place to visit with kids or a couple who fancys a day out. Massive play areas, 5 massive trampolines, full day of free of activities. You can stroke every animal in there and walk through the pony fields, amazing to get up close. Good choice of ice creams and cafe does the usual food, prices were average. Definitely worth a visit 👍.
This was our 1st visit our 11 month old granddaughter loved seeing all the animals although the mammoth donkeys were definitely her favourite we spent 4 hours here and could definitely off stayed longer. The cafe portion sizes were very generous and plenty of high chairs available. We are now getting season tickets
Had such a nice time here and I would definitely go back. We took our toddler and she was able to guide a small pony around a little paddock. It may not seem like a lot but it was a magical experience for her, she's never done anything else like it. They even put a little riding helmet on her. I was really impressed with the way the whole place was run, so much to see and do, you could easily spend an entire day here with a kid a bit older than ours. We got there a bit late in the day and I feel like it would have been better to go in the morning, to see all the activities. The car park is quite large and the farm is pushchair and wheelchair friendly.
Absolutely loved this place! It's so much bigger than I thought it would be. There's all kinds of horses, donkeys and ponies but also rabbits, bugs, mice, rats, ducks, turkeys and more besides! It's a bit of a tardis, doesn't appear huge but the more you adventure and follow the paths, the more you find. My very nearly 3 year old absolutely loved it. Highlight of our Devon holiday and we'll worth a visit!
The miniature pony centre is based in Dartmoor, Devon. A great place to bring the family to meet and greet ponies, horses and other farm animals. Kids can have a go riding and there is a large outdoor play area as well as a small indoor soft play area for younger kids. The cafe served lovely lunches as well as cream teas. There is a kids menu including sandwiches and jacket potatoes. Kids will love getting up close to the many miniature ponies on site... Not to mention the unicorns!!!
Had a lovely day out here .Lots to do and see . Activities put on through the day for all to join in . Great play areas for the children. Restaurant . lovely staff .Gift shop has good range of items. Prices very good . Grandson picked out a tractor and trailer which was only £6 a good quality one very happy boy ☺️
We went to the miniature pony centre in the afternoon. The Pony ride is good. There is an indoor area you can go in to touch donkeys or you can walk to the outdoor space to see ponies. Donkeys and ponies are cute and friendly. The last program of the day is “horse herding” and it’s an unique experience. Staffs are friendly. It’s great we didn’t miss this place while we were in Devon.

We visited yesterday with a warm welcome from the staff. The man behind the bar who served us (unsure of his name sorry) was super helpful and very chatty, The food was lovely also. Thank you for making us and our dog Chester feel very welcome. We hope to visit again one day.
Ring of Bells Inn was hands down one of the best places we stayed during our England trip! The village and surrounding area are straight out of a postcard—so picturesque and charming. The inn itself is beautifully kept, and our room was spacious, modern, and incredibly cozy. The restaurant is top-notch—every meal was fantastic, and the lamb? Easily the best I’ve ever had. Huge thanks to the owner, who was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. If you're visiting Dartmoor, this is absolutely the place to stay and dine!
Called in to this fabulous venue looking forward to a lovely late lunch. Unfortunately we had arrived 20 minutes after the kitchen had closed to prepare for evening service, no problem we said, we will just have a drink. With that the lovely lady behind the bar, criticised by another reviewer for being both aggressive and ginger said she would see if the chef would be willing to prepare something. Happy days, chef prepared 2 outstanding very late lunches, served to us by aforementioned lovely bar lady and the value for money was fantastic. Thank you all for a wonderful meal, so welcoming, keep up the great work.
We were staying at Bovey Castle, had an awful breakfast experience so decided to venture out for the evening meal. Came across this delightful pub; friendly service, delicious food, good pricing…what more do you want. We then decided to cancel our second ‘breaky at Bovey Castle’ and give that a try also. Again, same…great service, great food, and pricing I’d almost say wasn’t enough although we didn’t complain. If we’re around that area again, we wouldn’t hesitate to visit, and I’d highly recommend to anyone, including all the people currently sat at the Bovey castle breakfast table goggling where else they could eat ;-)
Hostile barman. We walked to your pub from Bovey Castle today, everyone at the castle raves about how good it is. The person who served us this afternoon had a bit of an attitude and came across as very unwelcoming. He was also devoid of a manners and humiliated the woman whose blouse was buttoned incorrectly. We also overheard conversations that didn’t ought to be aired in a public forum about finances. People pay a lot to stay in the castle and choose to visit your establishment at the recommendation of everyone up here. You’d do a lot more business if your servers were welcoming and friendly.
Sunday beef lunch was very reasonable but disappointed that the pork option had run out and the roast potatoes were dreadful. The potatoes were dry and hard and did not taste of freshly roasted potato.
Not bad. The lady with the ginger hair who works behind the bar is quite hostile. She makes you feel like she would rather you weren’t there. The food is good but the portions are very small. Prices are quite high for what you get. We won’t be coming back or recommending it to anyone, based purely on the hostile lady behind the bar.
Lovely pub with fantastic food and the staff are great. I had the sausage & mash which was really nice.

We were bought this break as a joint 50th birthday present. We had the 55 minute massage which was the best I've ever had, so relaxing and the aromatherapy oils were perfect. The pool is a nice size for a leisurely swim with a jacuzzi one end and steam room and sauna the other, with chairs to chill out on. Dinner was amazing, as was breakfast and if you've got kids, the chicken and ferret activity is brilliant. Archery finished our visit off. The room had been relaxing and quiet, but the best part of the whole trip was just how friendly and attentive all the staff were, from the reception to the pool attendants, to the food service staff.
Went for afternoon tea absolutely wonderful. Staff welcoming, pleasent and helpful throughout. We sat in the lounge which was quieter than the restaurant only about 4 tables set up lovely setting. The afternoon tea was a gift and consisted of a selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes along with 2 types of scones with jam and cream and of course lots of tea of your choice. There was so much to eat one lovely member of staff did us a little box to take away what we couldn't manage! Overall fantastic thank you!.
We previously stayed at Bovey castle in the main building a few years ago and absolutely loved it. We are currently here again in a lodge this time but the whole experience is very different. Overall the place is lovely, the setting is beautiful and generally the staff are friendly but there have just been lots of small things that haven’t been enjoyable. Today we were told the kids zone for our two young kids cost £25 per day. This isn’t a manned facility, it’s a room for kids to play in under parent supervision. For a hotel to cater for families and kids, I have no idea why they charge for it and it was free when we previously stayed. The lodge is very different to the luxury room we stayed in before. It is spacious but feels a bit sparse and not luxurious or homely. The oven pan was disgusting and could do with a new frying pan and didn’t have basics like salt. I understand if they want us to eat in the restaurant but booking it for the times we wanted in the evenings we were told there were no spaces. My wife and eldest son wanted a round of golf with an instructor and left two messages at reception for the golf shop to contact her to arrange the pro, but neither message was passed on and it became too late to get an instructor. And the continental breakfast for £20 per person was disappointing. Overall I’d say it’s a lovely place for a romantic couples weekend or you are out an about the entire time but for young families it wouldn’t be my choice again.
What a place, we got married here on Monday stayed there over night. The service and welcoming was something we have never experienced before. The food and drinks were on another level. The whole experience was some we shall never forget. We shall have to save to come back for our anniversary as the experience is just amazing. Top job to those involved. Thankyou for making our special day so special
A wonderful place for a half-term holiday. Families should head for the beautiful lodges, where they'll have plenty of space to noisily romp around without disturbing other guests — but still be able to use the hotel facilities. The kids were made to feel at home by the staff, with highlights being a ride on a golf buggy, meeting the chickens and ferrets, and watching the falconry display. The pool was good too, and it's a smart move to have clearly stayed hours when children are welcome. Venturing out into Dartmoor to let them really let off steam is highly recommended, but the estate is large and has a good playground too. Overall, a great stay, and we're likely to be back.
A grounds that has a lot to offer. Spacious, well maintained, and close to hiking trails. The cabin was a treat, three floors with an incredible amount of space and full of rustic luxury. The falconry tour was definitely a highlight.
The hotel is beautiful and the room was gorgeous reception staff really helpful and two guys on the door porters too. The evening meal was lovely however the waiter spanish guy was so rude and could t care less .. but overall great time there. The spa is amazing too felt so relaxed
Went for lunch, the food was ok, the staff were ok (couple of rather brusque ones others very nice) the location and hotel is lovely but it was rather underwhelming. We have been visiting the hotel for nearly 20 years and this was the first time it didn’t feel very special. Hope it can return to form.
