What a day out! I booked the Canyon Xtreme activity for a stag do and all nine of us thoroughly enjoyed it! We did everything from rock climbing, cliff diving to scrambling and abseiling. Would do it all again next weekend! George the instructor was great, very well informed and walked us through everything and helped make it even more enjoyable. Would give 10 stars if I could. 100% recommend.
Highly recommend. A well managed, fun adventure for the whole family. We booked the middle level canyoning as my youngest was 10 years old and they all love the water. My husband (non participant) took the walking route with our dog and caught a lot of the action from the sides as George and Rachel helpfully directed him. The safety advice was clear and simple. Lovely points of interest were highlighted on the way which made the trip even more exciting for the kids (and secretly educational too). We all had a blast! Thanks so much guys
A group of us went along and did the canyon extreme and absolutely loved every minute of it. George was a great instructor and made it a really fun experience. Would highly recommend and we will be coming back to do it again.
3 hours of pure outdoor fun. Canyoning with George was fantastic; he made everyone in the group feel welcomed and safe throughout the session. All the equipment and kit provided was great. We all felt safe and George ran through each of the sections throughout the day, explaining where to be careful and how to navigate the pools and jumps properly. The jumps into the water were incredible, really got the adrenaline pumping as did the abseiling sections. I’d definitely return for another visit in future. It’s a fantastic way to spend a day out in nature in stunning Wales.
Absolutely loved extreme canyoning, 11 year son said was amazing. George talked through everything and offered help if he could and needed if needed. Highly recommend.
We did Extreme Canyoning and Climbing with George over the weekend. He was great fun, switched on and split the group out based on ability so we could get more done. This was really good as it meant we got more jumps in while canyoning. It was just our group for the climbing and he was flexible with times to get the best weather and best climbs in. Great guy and highly recommend both activities. Challenging and loads of fun.
Done the extreme canyoning as a family of 4, ages ranging between 13 and 62 and we had the best time. George was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the area we were in. He made us feel safe and confident in what we were doing. The canyoning was even better than we expected, with waterfall slides, an abseil and big jumps. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to give it a go. And the water wasn't even that cold. Thanks again George and Rachel.
Absolutely cracking trip canyoning down the stunning gorge. Would highly recommend it. Very clear and well spoken instructions all the way down from George and Rachel which gave us all confidence.
We went canyoning with George and Rachel in summer last year and my teen thought it was the best activity we had done in the UK so couldn't wait to come back. Lovely, friendly instructors who are very knowledgeable so you can scare the bejeezus out of yourself, safely. Thanks guys, we'll be back
My partner and I fancied doing something different as a 'date afternoon '. We were not disappointed! Fantastic from start to finish. Super organised and great fun. Friendly instructors who kept us safe but adventure level high. Definitely recommend this trip. Thanks guys for a great time

We stayed at this campsite earlier this week and honestly, it was absolutely perfect. The location is stunning—tucked away just enough to feel peaceful and remote, yet still close enough to reach nearby villages and towns easily. One of my favourite things was the sound of the river flowing through the camp—it added such a calming, natural atmosphere. The amenities were spectacular. The showers and toilet blocks were spotless, which made such a difference. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the on-site ice cream was a lovely bonus—delicious and refreshing! It really was the perfect escape, and we can’t wait to come back.
My family had been going to this campsite every year for many years. It just gets better every year. cannot fault the family that own it and the people they have working there. Always welcoming and chatty. Beautiful campsite with clean facilities and a shop for essentials and ice cream. Views and walks are amazing. Family friendly will a couple of rules to follow to give everyone the best experience possible. Will continue to go here for as many years as possible.
Absolutely in love with this place. It's so quiet every time we visit. The campsite is beautiful with the river running through it. Waterfalls are nice and undercover so on a hot day it's not so bad. Slightly steep in places so bear in mind if you have limited mobility. Lovely kiosk to grab an ice cream and a cold drink before walking. Lovely to see kids playing in the water and people just enjoying nature.
Fantastic location. Basic site and quite remote so no quick amble to any pub but so worth it for the direct access to amazing trails. Very clean amenities. Friendly staff.
What an amazing place. We are staying in our camper. The location is amazing right by the river, A few minutes walk from a water fall. We have taken the river side walk which takes about an hour and seen both water falls and taken in the amazing views. It's also 40 minute walk from a local village with lovely pubs and places to eat.
I had a great time here, regardless of the storm that followed. The facilities were super nice and clean, the sound of the stream at night was very relaxing, and the staff were very friendly! Highly recommend this camp site!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Our favourite escape — where the waterfalls are beautiful and the people are even better” Nantcol Waterfalls isn’t just a campsite — it’s a little corner of calm tucked into the Welsh hills, where life slows down, the air is fresh, and you remember what it feels like to breathe properly. We've been coming here for years now, and every time we arrive, it feels like coming home. The owners are honestly some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet — always smiling, always stopping for a quick chat, and genuinely happy to help. On our most recent trip, they spotted that our tent was more “canvas castle” than compact and immediately moved us to a bigger pitch without any fuss at all. No drama, no eye rolls, just good old-fashioned hospitality with a grin. The site itself is everything a campsite should be: clean, scenic, and thoughtfully laid out. The pitches are flat (an underrated luxury when camping), and the toilet and shower facilities are consistently spotless — seriously, we’ve stayed on plenty of campsites and this one always sets the bar. One of the best things about Nantcol, though, is the people it attracts. In all the years we’ve been coming, we’ve never had a bad “camping neighbour.” Everyone seems to respect the space and the peaceful vibe of the site. There’s a kind of unspoken understanding that we’re all here for the same reason — to relax, enjoy nature, and not ruin it for everyone else. Even the washing-up becomes a bit of a social event — you go down with a few plates and come back with a couple of new conversations. There’s something really wholesome about standing by the sinks, talking to fellow campers, sharing tips, laughs, and the odd tale of camping chaos. And then there’s the waterfall — a short, easy walk from the site, but it never loses its magic. Whether you’re paddling with the kids, taking a quiet morning stroll, or just sitting with a cuppa and listening to the water, it’s always the kind of peaceful that sticks with you. We can’t recommend this place enough. It’s got beauty, warmth, and a genuine sense of community — and in a world that’s always rushing, Nantcol is the reminder we all need to slow down and soak it all in.
Just a stunning place to visit. Lovely friendly staff. The best amenities cities I've ever seen on a site. Cheap as chips and the lake and waterfalls are fantastic

This small yet beautiful church is located just off the main road through Llanbedr, there is no carpark located on site however you can park around the corner and walk around in less than 3 minutes. Just through the old Lychgate you'll walk through the small churchyard adorned with the usual slate headstones, commonplace throughout Wales. The church is a mix of medieval and 19th century, built with local stone and displaying some medieval roof timbers inside, as you can see from the photos the interior is simply decorated yet still gives off that typical spiritual aura found in these small chapels and churches. A few things to note inside are the various memorial and donated brass plates, the donated electric organ from the 40's, the 6th century (needs confirming) spiral carved stone and the few absolutely stunning stained glass windows displaying true craftsmanship and piety. Simply put, well worth a visit.
A typical Welsh stone church with a cluttered graveyard full of slate headstones, didn't get to look inside. Maybe next time.
