A wonderful day out. Destination Annot is a very interesting place with a medieval centre and there are some good restaurants. Ride a very genuine train with wooden seats, drop down windows and little else, all part of the charm. Tickets can be confusing, we didn't realise we were allocated seats so after twice being asked to move we realised and found our seats that were occupied by two very rude and offhand French old ladies who refused to move until a companion pointed out their error so sorted. The train ride takes about an hour through wonderful scenery, stopping once at Entrevaux and a pit stop to take on water before taking to the hills. Slightly quicker coming back down hill. A great experience.
Stream locomotive of a century still in action! Absolutely amazing to see this machine running just like old times.
(Translated by Google) A wonderful family day. A big thank you to the train drivers who at the end we took the time to explain educationally to my 9 year old daughter. An advice took your places on the internet before Come well 30 before.
(Translated by Google) An adventure to experience at least once in your life just for the symbolism. I call it the Harry Potter train. It's good to go there with a child's soul, an innocent gaze to perceive all the subtleties of this journey. The team of volunteers is present at every stage. Enzo followed the train with his new bike and we photographed him during his journey. I also reproduce all of this on the Google file. Lucille, a female train conductor, is a pleasant person with this innocence. When she smiles, her face lights up. I had been trying to take this train for 2 years and I am delighted with this meeting. A question asked by a person at the platform: is the train powered only by coal? Indeed, when I saw the inside of the locomotive, I noticed the coal on the ground but I don't know if it was enough for the entire journey. The interior of the carriages takes me back to ancient times where I see that the wooden seats have stood the test of time and remain in good condition. The climate was with us and we enjoyed mild skies. I thank everyone.
(Translated by Google) An experience to live once. We enjoy the landscape differently. On the way there you have to take a break to fill the water tank, it's interesting to see how it all works. Beautiful landscapes to see throughout the journey. Be careful to close the windows in the tunnels when you are close to the locomotive, this avoids the large amount of smoke. Volunteers are available to provide explanations and answer questions.

(Translated by Google) Sunday September 5, boarding the Train des Pignes in Puget-Théniers, destination Annot. A great experience in this steam train which offers us a journey out of time, tossed by the rolling of the wagons on the rails, our noses quivering under the smell of the black smoke escaping from the locomotive's chimney and the particles of soot which mar our faces and our clothes. The slow pace gives us time to appreciate the landscapes of the valley and the small villages that line the route. That day, Enzo, a young man who volunteers with the Train des Pignes association, took on the challenge of making the journey with us, by road, on his bike. During the stop at Entrevaux, we were surprised to discover Templars who had come to honor the passage of the train. At the Annot terminus, Nadège - the friend who accompanies me, has the opportunity to get on the locomotive and interview Lucille, the train driver, whose smile radiates the place. A woman in charge is a promising sign for our project. We even witness the turnaround of the locomotive which then catches up the wagons for the return to Puget-Théniers. Well done and thank you to the entire team of volunteers who continue to maintain this heritage and keep this tradition alive.
