Buddhist monastery which history is more than 1000 years. The landscape is filled with zen and tranquility. Has a number of historic temples, and monk houses, some of which are unique relics. Some buildings are going through renovation under a careful supervision of local architects, to save their original structure and interior. The souvenir and organic hand made products store is available. Is a starting point of numerous hiking tracks, which lead to the top and around the hill chain, to other sacred cites and hermitage places.
Located on the western slopes of Mt. Dalmasan, Mihwangsa was founded in 749 during the Silla Dynasty and holds the distinction of being the southernmost temple on mainland Korea . When I visited some restoration works were in place and I couldn't see all the pavilions. However, due to its rich history, spiritual ambiance, and breathtaking natural setting, this place is a must‑visit for anyone seeking peace, cultural insight, and a true connection to Korea’s sacred landscapes.
Calm and relaxing. Close from Gwangju area. Good for a day trip.
Very beautiful temple and surroundings. We did a templestay here. Since we couldn't find the price on the website: For two people we paid 160,000 won for 1 night including dinner, breakfast, lunch and joining the yebul ceremony.
My favourite place in the whole of South Korea. The mountain ridge walk is stunning as you look out to sea and see the scattered islands. The Buddhist temple has the stillness of eternity there. Try the delicious tea made of red berries. I visited this place for one day in 2014. Sublime!
Gorgeous views, fantastic hiking trails with a variety of newly planted trees. They are still saplings but this is going to be an incredibly diverse forest in 5-10 years. Watch out for ticks though, the are is natural and there are insects (including ticks) everywhere.
I did temple stay for 3 days and nights it was a great experience. If you have the time do the 17km hike it takes about 4hours but well worth it

Fun place to visit especially with kids. You can easily spend most of the day here. Plenty of parking and space for picnic.
It's great for outing with kids. There Alot of kids' activities kids can do. There are restaurants and shops here selling food and souvenirs. The 4D show was entertaining, and kids loved it. They had a good story, but it was a bit short. There was a large LCD screen in the museum showing very interesting feature films about how the dinosaurs became extinct. Overall nice place to visit in good weather as there are a lot of indoor and outdoor activities
It was good...we want to go back again❤️
If you are a dinosaur lover, this is the place you must visit here. Your kids will love the place, and trail is so nice with park.
i had so much fun running around the park and walking through the dino skeleton
This place is so amazing, park-wise as well as museum-wise.
Highly recommend this place for a family with children. You can see, watch and feel tons of dino considering it was built 20 years ago, Well organized and most of the stuff keeps clean and upgraded.
A good place to take kids to see dinosaurs. Except for the brutal summer heat, it was a great experience.
