Beautiful, sandy beach; we visited in autumn and I can imagine it's absolutely gorgeous when it's warm. The coastal walk is very nice, and there is a playground, cafe area and car park on site - you just have to walk down to the beach.
Arrived early 8.30ish car park was nearly empty. Toilet in car park were open paid £7 for all day. Short steepish slope to beach. Sand on beach is lovely. Shame about the erosion of the cliffs you can see water pipes hanging out the cliff where probably homes used to be. The sound of sea was lovely even though hardly any wind waves crashed onto the beach. Not the busiest of places and no cafes or shops that I see in or around car park only a ice cream van. Lovely lighthouse and we see a seal or two at different points of our journey down the beach. If you like sea and beach that's not overly busy then I recommend this one. I live in Norfolk and only really getting to see coast first time this year it's been a treat.
What a lovely beach to visit. We went midday on a Saturday, the tide was on its way back out. The beach was fair narrow but we still had plenty of room. Parking was easy, and plenty of spaces were available. Great for both onlead and offlead dogs.
Very nice location. Good for all family. Have toilets. Ice cream van. Playground.
2018 - The coast line is gorgeous. The lighthouse adds to the charm. Dogs are allowed too. 2025 - it's as beautiful as the photos show.
During harvest season the view is the most spectacular. Photographers love this place and kids can enjoy the park and the beach as well. No shops near by . Definitely recommend to carry water and food if you are visiting. Shower and toilet are good and clean.
Nice lighthouse and good beach. However one cannot swim there as debris is in tne water. Good for walks along the beach and great playground with toilets nearby.
Great sandy beach with plenty of beautiful sights and is very clean. It is quiet and peaceful. It has a car park nearby and children’s playground for the children to play. Overall a great experience.

Happisburgh is a truly special place that captures the natural beauty and charm of the Norfolk coast. The beach is absolutely fantastic – wide, peaceful, and unspoiled, with stunning views in every direction. Whether you’re taking a long walk, enjoying a bit of beachcombing, or just sitting back and soaking up the sea air, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. The iconic red-and-white striped lighthouse adds a unique character to the landscape. It’s not only beautiful to look at, but also steeped in history. If you get the chance to visit when it’s open, the views from the top are breathtaking and well worth the climb. Happisburgh feels like a real hidden gem – less crowded than other coastal spots but just as impressive. A great place for a peaceful day out, whether you’re exploring with family, walking the dog, or just looking for some time by the sea. Highly recommended!
Fantastic place with great volunteers. Really enjoyed our visit, and left with a map and list of the wrecks in the very treacherous seas by the Happisburg lighthouse which has provided hours of interest as we’ve looked up the various ships. The views are great from the top and the volunteers are really knowledgable. Our 6 year old had a fantastic time seeing how the lighthouse worked. Highly recommend a visit!
Would highly recommend a visit, our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and gave us a truly unforgettable experience. We weren't able to be there for an open day and Geoff kindly arranged a personal tour for us which was amazing.
Book in advance! We thought it would be best to and did; some who arrived today had not and were disappointed in not being able to get on a tour. The volunteers are helpful and knowledgeable. Pay attention to the warnings about the number of steps to climb and the final steps into the lantern room at the top are almost ladder-like in how steep they are. The views from the top are fantastic. Quiz sheet available for children to complete with a small prize at the end for those successfully finished, which was a nice gesture. The displays were interesting and presented well, plenty to learn about.
Lighthouse is closed. But the community car park, and the beach walk is great. Very quiet and feels like a locals only treasure. Long may it last.
If you haven't visited a lighthouse before this is worth a visit. It is funded by visitors and is in a great spot for a family beach day
Tour was unavailable whne we went, but stunning to see up close just outside of the property.
Lovely staff who have great knowledge of the history surrounding the lighthouse. It’s a cheap day out with great views and well worth the visit.

Whilst having a brief stay in North Norfolk, we took advantage of the Open Tower day at St Mary the Virgin, Happisburgh. Kind volunteers and steep and very tight helical staircase led to beautiful views over the fast eroding landscape. I recommend a visit before the sea reclaims the land. Higher than the nearby lighthouse, a lovely way to see Norfolk.
One of The Thousand - Its the mystery that brings the interest here. Who is the philosopher in the graveyard and why. Why did the boat sink on a calm sea? The font though is the stand out, intricate, not unique but particularly different for this church. Cavernous inside, but signs of an active congregation. Well done for maintaining a high standard and the informative guides.
Stopped for lunch while cycling the area, fabulous church in a elevated position with views of the North Sea; benches placed around the exterior of the church to relax on and enjoy your lunch.
We went here for an organ recital which was very enjoyable. The interior of the church was beautiful bathed in evening sunlight which was especially effective shining through the plain glass windows. We were saddened to read a notification of the possibility of moving bodies in the churchyard due to coastal erosion. It would be terrible to lose this lovely church though I don't know how likely this is.
A light filled space containing interesting information on the history of local area.
Beautiful little church where you are able to climb the steps if the tower, beautiful views, take it easy on the steps, very informative volunteers. Wasn't busy and not rushed.
Beautiful church with beautiful surroundings. A very enjoyable visit. Brilliant idea having a contactless machine so that we can easily donate.
Lovely welcoming church, surprisingly large for the area. The font is very interesting. We went on a day they open the tower to climb which is a long climb and scary if you do not have a head for heights. Excellent views from the top it was £3 for adults and £1 for children, although there is a height requirement.
