We went to see the show ‘It will be alright on the night’ a ray Cooney production. This was the first time we had been since the sit down menu change at the theatre. Very impressed. Lovely food, comfy seats and table service. Staff were brilliant and we had plenty of time to eat before the show. The show was outstanding, very funny and we all had a wonderful evening. We also went at Christmas to see White Christmas and again the show was outstanding and perfect for this time of year. 100 recommend a visit to this wonderful theatre.
Visited with my wife to see "Death in Pemberley" along with a meal. This was my first visit and I have to say the experience was fantastic. The service in both the bar and restaurant was excellent, and the quality of the food was tip-top to match. The play followed, which was produced to an extremely high standard. Loved every moment. Excellent!
Everybody should experience The Mill at least once. It is very indulgent, food for the body and soul (literally!). The car park is small, but parking attendants help to get as many cars as possible. And it’s free. You start downstairs in the bar with all the twinkly lights and view of the mill wheel which transports you back in time while you sip on a drink (or two). Then you are taken upstairs for an evening meal. You get your dedicated table and a server who is there to make your evening comfortable. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant, there is no rush and our waitress was fantastic, very polite and friendly. Bread, butter and olives were already waiting at the table. You get to choose a main meal and dessert from the set menu (5 choices each). I had a salmon followed by vanilla pana cotta and coffee/tea in the end. That’s all included in the price of your ticket. The food arrived really quickly, it tasted delicious and we had plenty of time to chat and enjoy the atmosphere. After the meal you proceed to the theatre, which is cozy and no matter where you sit, you will be able to see every little detail on that stage. The show was a tribute to Lionel Richie and Diana Ross. We loved it, even if the drums were way too loud, the singers were excellent, including the backing singers who danced all the way through it. Audience was engaged, singing and dancing. It was a fabulous evening out and we have already bought tickets for our next show. We cannot wait!
Wow, what a fantastic night... The staff, from the parking assistant to the waiters, were wonderful. They made our night exceptional. We were visiting the mill on their first night from buffet service to à la carte service, and the portion sizes were excellent. I had a stone bass with a glass of white before the show. It was delicious. All the waiters were very responsive and delivered outstanding customer service. The It Runs in the Family cast and their acting were superb. They were exceptional performers. We laughed a lot. If you like to spend a night with your loved ones to have a meal and then walk to the theatre in less than a minute, then the mill is your place. We will be back very soon.
Had an amazing evening out here with live music from a great band. They've redone the way it works now so that you are served food rather than it being a buffet, much nicer. Great for adults, not for kids. Would absolutely go again and am planning to.
It's always a pleasant afternoon thing to do their excellent dinner +theatre. Food has changed somewhat whereas it was a buffet selection it is now a formal sit down restaurant type of affair. I'll miss the epic beef pie but the coq au vin I had was very nice and the salmon better than the previous evenings high end restaurants offering. Play was excellent and as always very well produced and staged given the small area.
I love the Mill at Sonning because it is such a lovely old building full of history, beautifully placed on the river. We chose the steak pie and coq au van and it was very average in taste but pleasant. The play we went to see was Shadow in the dark, the acting was exceptional and I think everyone should go to see this play if they can. The wait staff could have smiled a bit more but apart from that, overall a lovely experience.
We had a fabulous night at The Mill, Sonning. The new menu (no more Smorgasbord) was delicious and the young team were keen to help and very attentive. The show was fantastic too and for a suspense thriller the cast of 4 and sound engineering kept the whole crowd on the edge of our seats! After the show there was a pianist in the bar area for those who wanted to stay on for another drink too! Parking is also provided. It’s great to see The Mill stepping up, yet still able to provide a great dinner and show package 👏 We’ll definitely be back.

What a beautiful church .beautiful outside even more beautiful inside went walking with kids and wife to sonning lock lovely walk
St Andrews Church is an Anglo Saxon survivor, and the church retains many features of its history. St Andrews was predated by an Anglo Saxon Minster, of which stonework still exists. The North aisle dates from the 13th century, and the South aisle from the 14th. However, the church is now mostly victorian due to a major restoration in the century. The graveyard contains the remains of two Victoria Cross recipients, and the interior is beautifully decorated and complimented with quality stained glass windows.
Lovely friendly church, beautiful peaceful location
Lovely historic church and churchyard, with the Thames only metres away.
Beautiful little church and nice walk paths around
As always, exceptional. My family Church makes me proud.
Love this beautiful church and graveyard. So peaceful.
One of the most beautiful churches I have been in. Not far from a river walk along the Thames.. Grounds kept in good order and a pub opposite the church.
