The museum is currently in a cabin next to the minigolf ground. It is quite informative but still in the making. We were nicely introduced by very friendly staff member of the museum who gave us personal recommendations which way to turn on the museum grounds which are quite extensive. Once the museum will be moved into its new home it will for sure be an even more recommendable site to see. Great that all explanations are in Danish, German and English 👏🏻

The museum itself is temporary inside baracks, awaiting construction of a new building. Interesting enough inside, but the true experience is walking along the Danevirke itself. You follow the embankment wall through fields and forest. In beautiful scenery with a great view in all directions.

What a great guided tour along the magnificent Danewerk. Ryan made an excellent guide telling all the stories about the creation of the defense wall up to today. We can only recommend to allocate both time and energy to take the guided tour in walking along the wall to the Viking village in Haddeby. Only by this effort you will experience the true greatness of Danewerk.

This is a great (though small) museum. It provides interesting and clear explanations of the history of the area from the Viking time to now. If you are going to visit the Viking museum in Hedeby this museum will provide a great background for that visit.
