We visited Playa de Maro, a stunning beach near Málaga recommended by friends. After parking, a 10-min walk (or bus) leads you there. The crystal-clear water is calm with fish, perfect for SUP or kayaking. It gets busy at lunchtime, and the uphill walk back is tiring, but it is worth it.
Great beach very secluded some small rocks when entering the water, bathrooms ,food concession, drinks We brought our own sandwiches rental beds, umbrella and kayaks great if it is windy its in a valley sheltered from the wind
Playa de Maro is one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Spain, a true hidden paradise just outside Nerja. Surrounded by cliffs and lush nature, this small cove offers crystal-clear turquoise water that’s perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. You can even paddle to nearby waterfalls and sea caves, which makes it feel like an adventure straight out of a postcard. The atmosphere is peaceful and unspoiled, far from the crowded tourist beaches. Bring water shoes, as the shore is pebbly, and don’t forget your camera — every corner of this place is stunning. Playa de Maro is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and tranquility of the Costa del Sol.
Pretty beach though gets quite busy. Google directions try to send you down a steep off road track from the top, but unnecessary as there’s a main road down and parking alongside.
Pretty beach! Good place for casual snorkelling and swimming. Beach can get crowded, but atmosphere is pleasant. Walk down is taxing but there is a reliable local bus service for €3 per person (cash only!)
This is a quiet beach given its location in the vicinity of Nerja. The water is clear, the bay is lovely to swim in and the walk from the car parking spaces up the hill is fine for even a moderately fit person. There’s a little beachside cafe and a kayak hire place. We didn’t use either but they seemed to be doing pretty well and people looked happy. The toilets are pretty grim, but at least they have them.
nice view, narrow road
Beautiful small beach. We visited early October and no issues with parking. Very clear water, showers and toilet available and really nice scenery. Great place to bring your SUP for some exercise. If you have a snorkling set bring it too.

One of the best spots near Nerja! Almost perfect, but still missing a little something. It's not too crowded, the rocks are nice, and the views are fantastic. Lots of nude sunbathers, though, so brace yourself! The water's cold, but when it's 35°C outside, it's actually refreshing. Easy, free parking is a plus. No fish, though, so don't bother bringing your snorkeling gear.
It was a beautiful sea (sadly, I saw little trash in the sea). There were not many people. There were wild boars, too 🐗 it was good spot to watch the moonset around 2:30 a.m. in early July.
A little gem among the bathing coves around Nerja. Usually with fewer visitors than the most popular beaches nearby. There are small reefs to snorkel around and accessible cliffs to jump from for those who want. Decent parking facilities along the main road. Would recommend trainers or other comfortable shoes for the walk up and down.
The most beautiful and peaceful place in this area i think. There is parking place and you need to go down the hill but it is easy and 5 min max. Crystal clear water with pebbles. There were jellyfish when i come, but they disappeared soon.
Very chill vibe with a lovely clear water. Not much parking and a steep walk down but well worth it. Mainly stone but some sand. Local hippy community appear to live here so be prepared for some harmless nudity.
‼️‼️‼️THIEVES in the PARKING lot ‼️‼️‼️ I got my money, jewellery and cosmetics robbed from the car, while we were at the beach. Don't leave anything valuable inside the car, they were picky and had plenty of time to choose what to steal. Beautiful pebbles beach and crystal water though.
A great beach for sunbathing and snorkling. The beach is made of sand a small rocks and it’s not very crowded. However it takes som “climbing” to get there. You have to go down for 2-300 meters to get to the beach and use a narrow unofficial route walking on gravel and rocks. Some placed its a bit steep, so use appropriate shoes. Not a place for smaller kids or older people to go down and up again.
Go to place. Trust me this is every time must visit place.
