My husband and I visited Doe Castle in March and we were the only people there. It was amazing. The grounds were clean and this historic site has been well preserved and cared for. We enjoyed learning about it's history and exploring the rooms and yards. Highly recommend!
Well preserved old castle on edge of Lough. Narrow access road but plenty of parking beside the castle. Free to park and no charge for entry to the castle.
Free to enter, and in surprisingly good shape. Unable to enter the tower but if close by, a nice 15 minute stop that kids and all will love.
Beautiful and peaceful spot with stunning views over Sheephaven Bay. It’s a small site, so about 20 minutes is enough to explore the grounds and take photos. The castle sits right by the water, which adds to the charm, but after rain the area can get flooded and slippery, so good shoes are a must. A lovely quick stop for history lovers or anyone passing through Donegal.
Amazing spot! Fantastic castle ruins and in really good condition. Worth the visit.
Nice castle . Very quiet when i went had it all to ourselves. Infomative placards along the inner wall telling its history
Really quite castle at the edge of the water, well kept and a sight to see on a sunny day. Quite enough when I was there and stayed the night in the car park.
Lovely little spot to stop off and walk around , there is a cafe there but it was closed when we got there. Its also free so thats a bonus
