We were there in 2019 with the family for our 20 year anniversary. It was an amazing experience for the 3 days we were there. We had great meals, explored the forest (scavenger hunt!), swam, walked the grounds and explored the village.

Chateau Gizeux A very special place to stay & would highly recommend. I travelled as part of a horse riding experience, in total there were 5 of us staying. Stephanie is an amazing hostess & from the moment we arrived she was welcoming & warm. I stayed in Marie d'Oretot Bedroom. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed & large ensuite bathroom. We commenced our evenings with aperitifs & then sat in the dining room for a delicious & generous 4 course meal. Stefanie’s tour of her families home was interesting & engaging. She happily answered all our questions. The pool was very welcoming, the days were very warm!

We visited gizeux during the night. In July and August the owners and their interns organize candlight tours at night on Tuesdays. We did one of the tours and were amazed by the beauty and imagination to the old days the tour guide in classical costumes displayed. Even our children where impressed. An event not to mis when in The area on tuesdays.

Beautiful castle and gardens. It does not seem too busy and it is definitely worth visiting. I recommend the guided tour (not sure id you can have it in English but there is EN leaflet available) it is included in the price you learn a lotf interesting information. The personnel was really welcoming ans helpful. There are activities for kids as well. You need at least 1-2 hours to visit.
