Popular religious and tourist attraction located in Nasugbu. Set in a picturesque scene on the slopes of the mountain range and beautiful natural surroundings including gardens, landscapes, and a panoramic view of nature, offer a serene and scenic retreat. Its design reflects Spanish colonial architecture, known for its rustic charm and timeless appeal. Good place of worship but also a retreat center run by Dominican priests. It offers spiritual retreats, workshops, and other activities for spiritual growth. It is also a popular venue for weddings and events because of its beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere.
Visited this place to spend some quiet time. Very conducive for retreats. The place is quiet and well kept. There is a garden below the church where you can walk and sit around. I do not know if public transport pass by this place but they do have pay parking.
I’ve had the chance to visit Caleruega Transfiguration Chapel a few times now—twice for weddings and recently for a simple 10:30 AM mass. Every visit feels special. The chapel is absolutely beautiful, with its stunning façade and peaceful surroundings. The garden is well-kept and adds to the serene, reflective atmosphere. The view from the grounds is breathtaking, especially on a clear day. The mass I attended was simple but deeply solemn, creating a spiritual experience despite the presence of many tourists. It can get crowded, especially on weekends or during events, so coming early is a good idea. Overall, Caleruega remains one of the most picturesque and meaningful places I’ve visited for worship and reflection. Highly recommended whether you're attending a wedding, a mass, or just seeking quiet time with nature and faith.
Great view and well maintained place, you have to have a environmental fee of 80per head this also includes the parking, perfect to have a breather after a long drive. I don't recommend coming if it's raining or rained too hard the road when your near is not really maintained so there a lot of small pot holes and mud on the drive way.
The place was an awesome venue for the sacrament of matrimony. Our wedding was conducted here in 21 December 2024, the intimacy, serenity, solemnity and all similar words are present in this place which made our vows so special.
A very beautiful church i Nasugbu. Very solemn . Inside ots not that big but it feels holy and welcoming. Outside they have a big garden and recreational center. A must visit soecially for a devotee
We visited this church a while ago. It's so beautiful, so fresh, and most of all, so quiet. It feels good to be here with my partner. Plus, they're pet friendly too.
It's a really relaxing place. Note: there's an entrance fee. 30 pesos per head + the parking fee (I forgot how much). There's a parking lot near the entrance (I prefer this) and a parking lot inside (the road is bumpy though)

I was shocked with the beauty of the island. The price is worth the pay exploring this island alone back in January 2024. I had a superb experience. Staffs at the port are kind and accommodating. Cheers! ❤️
The entire island is enchanting. We put up tents and spent over night in this island which does not have enough fresh water and electricity. The front side, facing mainland Batangas are stretches of coves/beaches while the other side are cliff and great dive sites. I love the boat wreckage and the lighthouse on the highest point of the island. The most picturesque is the mini Parthenon.
Fortune Island is a small island off the coast of Nasugbu Batangas and is perfect for those who love white sand beach. There are corals that are teeming with marine life and perfect for snorkeling but is NOT for the faint of heart. Here's a few reasons why: 1. A little out of your usual range. Entrance fee costs 350 for daytour and 500 for overnight. Kids below 4 are free of charge. Tent corkage is 200 per day. The costly part of the trip is the boat that will carry you back and forth to the island. It usually ranges from 6000 for 13-15pax. 2. Amenities - or lack thereof. The island is bare and when I say bare, i mean it. There are small patches of trees where you can pitch your tent but it can get really hot during the day that the best way to cool it down is to stay submerged in its crystal waters. Don't expect to get that glorious bath after dipping in the salty seawater for the entire day. Prepare to get sticky for the rest of your trip. Oh, the restrooms are a-ok and gets the job done. Bring wipes! Lots of them though. 3. Mosquitoes and Flies. As expected from a remote and desolate island, there is an abundance of blood-sucking mosquitoes there coupled with pesky flies. Hack is to bring incense sticks or mosquito repellent lotion. 4. Hot! Hot! Hot! Don't rent the cottages with blue tarps. They get notoriously hot during the day. Renting that is illogical. The place is really good for those who seek adventure or just really wants to have a good time. A couple of beer under the starry night is a huge break from your monotonous 8-5pm routine. • Get that instagrammable shot from the unfinished acropolis atop the mountain. • Have a go at the diving cliff at the back of the island. Beware that it is really high and not safe for the untrained. • Commune with the underwater creatures in its clear waters.
Exquisite and beautiful with a historical past. This is one of the places that was recommended to us for our pre-wedding photo shoot thanks to it’s proximity to Punta Fuego. Although I must say it’s kind of hard to get here, considering limited transportation, and highly unpredictable weather we found a boat to take us on this island but I’m gonna be honest, the waves were really erratic, although we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day. The island itself has gorgeous blue waters. It’s like a little oasis tucked away so close, yet feel so far from Manila. Our photos and videos came out magical. It was surreal. Here are some of our pre wedding photos and video is on YouTube
Best campsite ever! - the best time to come here is during the summer season, March to onset of June (why? So, you'll not be greeted with rough waves and seaweeds by the shore; cliff diving is best at this time too) - no freshwater source (bring everything you need esp. this one) MUST READ: don't get disappointed when there's no other water activities in the island, don't expect too much from this island, its unmaintained structures and lush yet rugged formation shall entice your senses enough^^
Beautiful island. Shore was wide and far so you'd really get to enjoy the water. You're free to do whatever you want. Just be sure to bring food that won't upset your stomach. There are no toilets. In fact, you'd see one side filled with you-know-what.
A must visit summer destination. Fortune Island is located 1hour and 15minutes boat ride, west of Nasugbu Batangas. For backpackers, bus ride to nasugbu is near Pasay Taft MRT. For Day Tours: Plan a trip where you will arrive at nasugbu proper, early in the morning. A P10/pax tricycle ride to the shore will take 5 to 10minutes. From the nasugbu shore, take a boatride for 1hr and 15mins. The boat ride commonly costs 4500 and you will have to bring your own food. Day tours usually last up to 430pm but in some cases, the boatmen would suggest leaving early specially whem waves start white-capping, which is a sign of big waves or violent air. I suggest you tour around the island first, with your camera to capture precious memories. You can later go swimming on the crystal clear waters or try cliff diving. Best to visit during the months of March to May before the start of rainy season. 10 must brings 1. water 2. food 3. camping tent (can rent) 4. snorkeling, diving gears 5. camera 6. your fone (smart and globe has strong signal) and powerbank 7. yourself and your buddies 8. money 3k for each for a group of 6 friends (ideal) 9. extra clothes 10 cooking things (from plates to barbecue stand) the island has no electricity. if your cam ran out of juice, you can obly recharge when you are back in Nasugbu
Do not believe those who say the island is full of beauty. It would be, if it wasn’t that polluted with plastic of all sorts. The photos I posted don’t give an idea of the level of pollution the island is suffering. The passage to the island was very expensive (about £80 in total) and not worth it. The only fun thing is the Greek-style temple and diving in the blue sea behind it (you can walk down the steps to get there).

Verdant, rugged mountain with a day hike to the top, offering dramatic panoramas of the region.

One of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Philippines, beginner friendly, easy to go up to summit. Just need to be careful your shoes are proper hiking shoes. Highly recommend those who loves hiking but don’t have much experiences people. Jump off point is very easy to find. After you get off the bus in Tagaytay highway , ride a tricycle, they’ll bring to the village where the mt Batulao trails start point , there are plenty tour guide , Very easy to find a tour guide in the jump off village. There are few shops during the way to summit , so no need bring much water. Before you start the trails , better ask your tour guide how much water to bring. Maybe some of shops not open on the day due to some reason.
Pretty sick, will be asked for a registration fee think it’s a scam up to you if you want to pay, only 120 pasos but definitely really good If it’s the dry season will get dirty and bring lots of water
There are stores at the summit Great 360 view. New trail is easier than old trail So many unregulated registrations
Beautiful and easy to hike mountain. I would suggest going there to beginners and those who love nature. On the peak, there are fresh coconut sellers!!
The supposed to be minor hike became almost major due to weather. It makes the hike more exciting and challenging.
Mountain is closed till 31st May earliest and the man stationed there told me they will require permits to hike this trail in the future. I left the summit too early - wait till 6-6:30am for the fog to dissipate and you might get an overview of the Taal Lake. Views wise, I was blessed with a colourful sunrise, rolling fog and breathtaking views of the ridges and peaks; as well as plenty of wildlife. I will suggest taking the new trail down to see the views of the ridges after sunrise. Going up the new trail in the dark may be more difficult; if you wish to do so, get a headlamp so you have both hands for scrambling/using the ropes. Also, there was a lovely (and persistent) cat waiting at the peak (and begging for food) :). Definitely not for first time hikers. Lots of up and downhills, loose dirt, and steep slopes, exposed ridges and near-vertical climbs with steps cut into the rock. Some sections have ropes to assist you when it’s too steep. Get a guide if you are inexperienced, risk of falling off the mountain is very real.
12.10.2023 Very scenic MT. BATULAO Jump-off point: Evercrest Golf Course
Good for beginners but watch out for narrow trail deep down are ravines, better to start hike at 4am to watch the sunrise .the guide said it's only 7km back n forth to hre jump off . unfortunately my climb was caught by habagat on rainy day no clearing for me,but the experience is enjoyable
