Beautiful place full of fossil trees. Must see when you visit Monemvasia. Very curvy road to get there, but definitely worth it. Partially safe to go with small children. Parking very close to one of the beaches with fossil trees.
Free entrance, fossilized tree stumps and partial trunks, option to swim in the picturesque sheltered bays. Road was long but in OK condition, worth the detour!
We were the only ones at the swimming spot on a nice hot June day! It was so amazing to see all the petrified wood and explore the beautiful blue waters. Off the beaten path but absolutely worth checking out!
This is a great place to visit and should be advertised more as a destination to visit. So much history, and the water is absolutely amazing. A must see if you are visiting the southern Peloponnese.
It's a trulely amazing viewpoint! Beautiful grey/black sand beaches and surrounded by crystal blue water.
Absolutely incredible!! Do not skip this location!
In the Agia Marina Geopark you can see fossil remains of pine plants, palm trees and shells from around 2,500,000 years ago. Here you can find spectacular wild coves with light gray sand and wonderful turquoise water.
This is a wonderful place if you can get to! Even if I was following my navigation on the bike I was not sure if I eas going the right direction until I was absolutely there because the road signs does not start until you get there. Well once you make it you are in for a treat. Make sure you got some good shoes on and stay hydrated because you will want to spend some time there and there is nothing to provide shade from the sun. I saw another petried forest in Lesvos Island and this place is second to none.
