Beautiful and tranquil place . The nuns are warm and welcoming and you can visit their church , which they are currently renovating and repainting with beautiful ceiling paintings. They also show you around their weaving workshop where they produce Beautiful fabrics for priest robes that are renown around the world. Views are amazing too!

Lovely little monastery hidden away in the mountains. Run by a group of nuns who produce and sell their own products ranging from embroidered table coverings to balms for various things all made from natural ingredients. We bought quite a few pots for eczema and a spray for insomnia. Beautiful views from the mountain top.

a very beautiful place, but unfortunately there is a construction going on now and we did not get into the temple itself. The bus stop opposite the temple was an offensive disappointment, the temple workers dump all the garbage from the construction here. This is just awful, what a lack of respect for people and nature

Set at the top of the hill with Wonderful views across to the sea, saw eagles flying overhead and there you find a calm monastery restored by very welcoming nuns who also make and sell healing balms, soaps and olive oil etc. well worth the trip, parking no problem or can get the open top bus from Rethymno.

First when we arrived there, everything was closed. But we saw a paper saying that we have to ring and wait So a nun came for us and told us the history of the monastery, she told us that they have a piece of St Irene's hand and a miracle icon. Also she took us to the shop where they have many beautiful things : from icons to creams and olive oil, everything produced there.

We came across this monastery high up above the road on a hike from Rethimnon to Chromonastiri and Myli Gorge. Reading the other reviews afterwards we were sad we didn’t take a detour to take a look. Our guide book didn’t make much of it but looks like it is worth going to investigate.
