If you can catch Richard Bradley(I think I am remembering his name correctly) singing the hymns, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Hauntingly beautiful.
The best exemplar of the romanic period. It has three wings that it's not usual in this era and type of construction.
A beatifull monastery
(Translated by Google) The construction of the church began at the end of the 11th century, and continued over the following centuries; the church largely preserves its original Romanesque structure (13th century). The building has a basilica structure, with the body of the church consisting of three stepped naves with wooden roofs, separated by pointed arches, without a projecting transept; lighting by a clerestory. The apse consists of a rectangular apse (main chapel), of which only the first section dates from the original construction, and two semicircular apsidioles covered by a quarter-sphere vault. On the main façade, the axial portal stands out in the centre, with four archivolts, a plain tympanum and decorated capitals. In the 14th century, a defensive tower was built next to the church; this Gothic military structure "contrasts with the Romanesque decoration, clearly evident in the Agnus Dei carved in the tympanum of the door, in an attempt to revive the models of Braga's Romanesque style". In the 17th century, work was carried out on the monastery, with the main chapel being expanded and the cloister space being reconstructed.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful historic monastery. In need of renovation. Everything was closed, so we couldn't visit the inside.
(Translated by Google) Interesting Romanesque place, the church was closed but it was Monday morning. The monastery, which is not authorized, needs serious restoration if it is not to fall into ruin. Rural environment. Open public toilets. Ample and problem-free parking. Entorno rural. Lavabos públicos abiertos. Aparcamiento amplio y sin problemas.
