If you have not seen a lake before and wish to see one, Lake Mladost is excellent. If, however, you are a seasoned connoisseur of lakes who expect something akin to the the Swiss or Austrian lakes, it is unlikely that you'll be awestruck. That warning having been put forth, a lot has been made of this pleasant but rather unassuming lake. It is lined by no less than three hotels - one of which is a moored "ship". It is possible to walk around the lake on a combination of road kerb and footpath - and in several places it is possible to enter the lake to swim. Grasses encroach on all sides and algae abound just under the surface - but many locals swam there and I believe the toll to human life is modest for those willing to venture a dip. At the dam in the North-Western end of the lake, there is a nice view to the little "canyon" below. From what I could observe during my stay, I would say that the hotels in the area are preferred venues for both marital and extra-marital purposes for people from Skopje.

A wonderful place for a walk for everyone who wants to be in nature surrounded by beautiful birds. Ideal for bicycle tours, with several good restaurants around for all those who want to taste a good meal.

Nice lake to grab a lunc in restaurants nerby or a cup of coffee and to have a nice walk by the lake
