This is one of my favorite beaches in the USA. It's beautiful, clean, pet friendly and a very free, kind and non-judgemental atmosphere. They even have workout equipment on the beach.

I highly recommend taking this walk. So many things to see and do.

Virginia Beach Boardwalk is one of the best going around. It is completely paved and runs for a couple of miles. There is a separate lane on the boardwalk for bicycles and carts. People in the beach condos overlooking the ocean can hit the boardwalk and go biking or walking. The Neptune statue is a huge attraction

Just came back from VA Beach, refreshed & recharged ! Although I had a GREAT time it was early June, so it rained for a good portion of our trip. And VA Beach does NOT have a "boardwalk" in the true, classic definition that other beach towns such as Ocean City MD, Rehoboth Beach DE, Myrtle Beach SC, Atlantic City NJ, Coney Island NYC etc, etc VA Beach has more of a 3-mile "promenade" which is PAVED rather that the historic WOOD PLANKS of the traditional beach BOARDwalk. Virginia Beach also loses points for its oceanside's lack of businesses and activities on oceanfront property, with only exception are the hotels and resorts and a few restaurants here and there. All the same shopping, dining, beach activities etc Hotels pretty much take up the vast majority (90%+) of prime oceanfront lots Instead of the countless shops, restaurants, amusement thrill parks, etc found in places like Ocean City and Rehoboth. VA Beach has insane # of mobile venders who only stay for seasonal timeframe. Not a lot of shops, just hotels and restaurants on the "boardwalk" that's not even a boardwalk but concrete path ... But to each its own and it was peaceful...

Nicely organized, friendly staff, and interesting exhibits. My son enjoyed the touch tanks and submarine control room, but it didn’t take long to get through the entire aquarium (about 2 hours moving pretty slowly). Could use something inside that’s more interactive like the seals at the entrance. Penguins would be a great addition. Not sure if the $35+/ticket is justified for another trip if in the area. Not disappointed in our trip, but not sure I would visit again. The gift shop prices are also insane. $70 for a long sleeve shirt tops all prices for gift shops I’ve been in before, and we’ve been to 10+ aquariums. Left without buying anything from the gift shop for the first time.

Very nice staff. Pet the sting rays was cool. Got a little taken back when they started playing, be prepared to get wet should they start to play again when you are near. Didn't eat at the cafe but seemed to have plenty to choose from. Boat ride wasn't available on a Monday I was there. Due to it was after Labor Day. Bathrooms are clean. 10/10

Nice Aquarium we came from up north. Love the seal right outside before you get it very unique touch. I was very surprised to see reptiles but the surprise was pleasant. We did go on a Saturday which was crowded but organized. Only negative was the parking meters had to go to multiple before we found one that actually worked so that definitely needs to be fixed it was a bit of a hassle. Make sure you take the walk on the scenic nature route the the south building where the otter and jelly fish are. Be warned the walk is about 13 minutes from one building to the other then you have to walk the same way back. They also have zip lining you can pay to do in that area a bit pricey but looked fun. Overall it is worth it if you take the scenic walk as well. They did have a theater but they said it was not ready and it was well into the afternoon so that was disappointing. But overall I recommend and it’s worth price ended up spending 2.5 hours which is way more than we planned but fun

We were in Virginia Beach for a family vacation with the whole family, 10 people ages 12 to 80, and saw the good reviews of this aquarium so we thought it would be a nice place to spend the afternoon on a day with a good chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Overall, it was very disappointing. We have been to a lot of aquariums and this one was by far the least interesting and impressive, and one of the more expensive and crowded. There was not a lot of actual aquarium stuff and it only took about 2-2.5 hours to go through the entire thing, which at $35/person was not worth the cost. Many of the exhibits were closed or missing their animals and we all left disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’m a big fan of aquariums and this by far is one of the best ones. We arrived around noon, there was no line to go in. I love how they have everything in separate sections, place was clean, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We went with 3 little ones and they enjoy every minute of it, being able to touch and play with stingrays was the highlight for sure. Great place for families. I’d definitely recommend. We enjoyed it so much.

After seeing how my baby watched the fish tanks at petco, we decided to take her to the aquarium. She loved it! The animals were all well cared for, staff were friendly, and plenty of parking. We will definitely be coming back to make a full day out of it when she’s older to take advantage of the trails and restaurants outside.

Beautiful place to visit if you vacationing in VA Beach to experience marine life! The best part was patting the sting rays. The hike to South building was also very pleasant. Will definitely do this again! If you have kids be prepared to go to the water park after 😂

Located within the secure perimeter of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, it’s important to note that access requires a valid photo ID for everyone over the age of 16. The process is very organized — after a quick ID check at the gate, a shuttle transports visitors from the front entrance directly to the lighthouse area. The lighthouse itself is a beautiful and well-preserved piece of American history. We learned a lot about its significance — it was the first federal construction project authorized by the U.S. government in 1792 and offers incredible insight into early coastal navigation and maritime heritage. The staff and volunteers were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share fascinating facts about the area and its historical context. Climbing to the top of the lighthouse rewarded us with absolutely breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay. It’s the perfect spot for photos, reflection, or just enjoying the scenery. Highly recommend this experience for history lovers, families, and anyone looking to soak in panoramic coastal views while learning about early American history. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for the climb, and don’t forget your ID

Worth the extra effort to get on the military base. Climb to the top of the lighthouse is not nearly as daunting as it sounds if heights aren't an issue for you, the view is worth it! See where the Jamestown colony landed. Interpretive signs are helpful.

Cape Henry Lighthouse is such a cool piece of history and a great little adventure right in Virginia Beach. It’s located on Fort Story Navy Base, so you do need to show your ID at the gate and let them know you’re there to visit the lighthouse. After that, you pay a small entry fee and you’re good to go. The walk up is relatively easy not a mountain by any means, just a climb up the lighthouse stairs. When I went with my students, all but one made it to the top, so it’s definitely doable for most people. The view from the top is beautiful, looking out over the ocean and the surrounding coastline. Plus, it’s amazing to stand in a place that’s tied to where America truly began, right next to the First Landing site. A nice bit of local history, a short but fun climb, and a great view definitely worth visiting if you’re in Virginia Beach.

Located on a military base. You must enter at gate 8 and they will escort you to where you need to go. You will exchange your ID for a base pass. There are rules to abide, like where the boundaries are and what you can pictures of. Then you will shuttled back to the lighthouse area. If you pay for the lighthouse there are a bunch of stairs to get to the lighthouse in addition to the lighthouse stairs. You can only climb the older lighthouse (brick), not the newer one (black & white iron). The overview of the Chesapeake Bay & monuments provided some history. Walking in the boundaries could be hot during summer months since there is little to no shade.

This place is pretty neat! We love history, so we were excited to explore this site, which was touched by Washington and Hamilton. It's worth it to walk all the way up the lighthouse, for a great 360° view. It's also worth it to take the civilian walk to the shoreline area. One item of note is, this is located on an active navy base. You have to go through a checkpoint and a briefing. What you take with you to that briefing is ALL you can take with you to the lighthouse. That briefing clears you to take the shuttle that will take you to the lighthouse area. If you go through the briefing, then remember you need something else in your vehicle (which you leave at that parking lot), you have to go through the briefing again. So make sure you bring everything you need, the first time, to help you and your family avoid the hassle of going through the briefing multiple times. We did not know this when we were there, as it was our first time, and NO ONE, not even the military people at the checkpoint, prepared us for that. All they said was, "Park there, walk into that building, get briefed, then you wait for the shuttle." THAT was all they said. We left our backpack, waistpacks, water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, everything, in the vehicle, and went to the lighthouse without anything except what we carried into the briefing building. Not the most informative crew at the vehicle entrance checkpoint. So now you know. Other than that, it was a good day trip!

The staff here are amazing, passionate, and knowledgeable about the facility as well as the greater lighthouse ecosystem around the country! A truly memorable and enjoyable experience of our summer! Please note, the lighthouse is located on an active military site so please check requirements before hand and it will be an worthwhile visit!

A must go if you're in the area. This is a truly magnificent structure that you can climb all the way to the top. The history on this lighthouse and how long ago it was built is very surprising. A park guide will explain the history. There's even a bucket that simulates the oil that had to be carried up to the light each day and you can pick that up and carry it.

I'm giving five stars, because the fact of the matter is the individuals that volunteered here or work here. Actually cared, and we're glad to be there. That's huge for me, because if you're gonna have a place like this, be enthusiastic about it, be glad you're there, which everybody was. Not to mention the information that they had about different things were also plentiful. The hangers could be a little more interactive where you could get up closer to the planes maybe in look into some of them, but they were still very cool. I did disagree with the $350 price tag to get a quick flight in one of the planes, which to me fuel costs are not that high. I mean, who in the world can afford that amount of money? They gotta change that or not. Because that's just outrageous and screams we cater to a certain sect of folk...I mean we the little people are helping keeping this place going to, by buying regular tickets and merchandise, I wanted to go so bad, but oh well... Anyway, It's a pretty big area and we spent three hours there total. It's definitely worth going, and I am a critic as you can see from the things that I review. So again, it's definitely worth going✌🏼

My son and I went to the mseum not knowing what to expect. My son loves military planes, their engines and overall operations. We were so impressed with the quality of the planes and thoroughly enjoyed the staff that were available in the hangers for questions and answers. The free tour to an operations tower and 2 more hangers was amazing! It is a mere $17 for adults but there is also military discount, children and senior rates. The museum operates on donations and grants, so the price is a bargain. The gift shop is small but packed with some great memorabilia. We can't wait to go back, hopefully for the upcoming airshow. Its a must see for the whole family!

We went to the museum for an after hours special event and got to see both of the WWII hangars with the aircraft. It was amazing. There were volunteers there to tell us about the planes. They are all pristine and fully restored. You literally walk amongst these planes around, under and can see them up close! Very cool place!

We drove to VA Beach to check this Museum off our "adventure" list. So glad we did, the staff was great! The gentleman that greeted us was very knowledgeable and gave us a backstory of some of the planes and history. They have quite a few planes there and upstairs is a cool collection of items. We definitely enjoyed our time there and the gift shop has alot of cool things as well!

This was a FANTASTIC museum with very knowable and passionate staff who answered all our questions and gave us the run down about the different aircraft. Both the Army and Navy hangers were stellar; perfectly maintained. Our tour of the watchtower and WWI hanger was also wonderful, we learned so much about the war and the origins of flight from our guide! Can’t wait to come back to see more of their figures projects!

The museum is always a good time and the staff there is friendly and really eager to tell stories and share information! We were lucky enough to catch the tail end of one of the guided tours and Tim was an excellent guide who brought us through a section of the museum I hadn't seen before. You could tell he had a passion for what he did, and the final piece of the tour really made the whole experience worth it.

We LOVED this experience!!! We went at 9:30 on a Wednesday morning. My brother & dad love this kind of stuff, but my mom & I were pleasantly surprised by how much WE enjoyed it! At 10:30 we did a guided tour with Flash - and that made it all worth it!!! He is amazing, so excited to teach, and knew everything about it all!!! He made our experience so great! I will be back to bring my husband! If you have the opportunity, go!

$7 is the entrance/parking fee 1- kids & family friendly beach, bay water which means low tide and calm waves. Amazing for kids and people who can’t swim but they need to feel the ocean salty water all over their bodies 🧘🏽‍♀️ 2- They have outside beach shower, and restrooms, so you can shower then go to the restroom to get dressed. 3- I saw people with dogs, which means dogs friendly beach 🦮 4- If you’re looking for not crowded calm beach, it’s here. 5- We passed by the campground and it looks awesome, the campsites look wild between the woods but yet each of them has a parking space, they have grill-fire place, and picnic tables as well.There are special spots for RVs too. 6- The gift shop has some snacks, and soft drinks. The prices are very normal and reasonable. They have ice cream but it’s open certain days not every day. We noticed that they have firewood 🪵 too, for $8. 7- This beach is a starting point for some guided kayak tours. Go there and have fun 😌

Lots of trees and the military jets/helicopters stop by 10 PM. They're not bad. The beach is clean and was deserted on October 29-31. We loved our site 183 pull through, and they have a shuttle stop during high season.

This is the best park in Hampton Roads. Miles of well maintained hiking trails that cover the entire park. There is also beach access on the opposite side of the park. There is a $10 fee on weekends on busy tourist months, but only $7 any other time. The fee is for a good cause as it helps maintain the park as they receive no federal funding. This park offers plenty of water views, wildlife, cypress trees, and the northern-most population of Spanish Moss. Plenty of turtles, lizards, and waterbirds, including blue herons and white egrets. I’ve actually seen a couple bald eagles here. I have hiked every trail here, and they are all very well maintained. All the trails are easy in difficulty, but they are really never crowded. If you go deep enough into the park, you’ll probably only encounter a few people total, which is very nice for such a crowded area. There also seem to be plenty of places to swim and fish along the trails. They also have a boat launch in the southernmost portion of the park. They also have plenty of events throughout the year for families. Highly recommended checking this place out!

First Landing is such a well-run, beautiful park. Whenever I make the trip down to Virginia Beach, I end up spending most of the day here. I enjoy exploring the beach and trails with my dogs. It’s usually less crowded here and easy to get in and out vs having to drive around trying to find parking by the beach boardwalk. The staff we’ve encountered here are very kind and helpful too!

We keep coming back year after year. We've been making this trip for about 10 years now. Its a quiet clean campground. The beach is a 10min walk. The Chesapeake bay is perfect for kids, the waves are small, lots of wildlife for the kids to explore.

It was a terribly, rainy day when we visited the park. We enjoyed walking through the visitor center, interpretive exhibits and seeing their animal ambassadors. We also visited the center near their trailhead on the other side of the park. Nice park gift shop also. Cabins are currently under renovation and didn’t get to see the campground.

Very cool spot. There was hardly anyone here so it was super peaceful and serene. Walked around and then drove the park and it seemed like a dream.

The boardwalk is very enjoyable place to visit, to avoid the rush go at sundown, lots of parking with a twist, sign say $10 but when you enter to pay it’s for the first 1 or 2 hour, read the sign or park in the public lots, some have all day for $10, an some meter have 3 hour max parking which is $6 total. Best ice cream is pass the statue on the left hand side. A old fashion style that’s not sweet but worthy the trip

Enjoyed walking along the boardwalk. Clean, decorated and lit at night for holidays. Always get in a walk after breakfast. Some construction and maintenance on boardwalk and restrooms during off season. Plenty of signs noting next available facilities. Bike path beside boardwalk, though some people ignore the instructions.

The Virginia Beach boardwalk offers a variety of shops and restaurants to cater to diverse preferences. I enjoyed observing people of all ages cycling, strolling, exercising, and generally taking in the atmosphere. Furthermore, there are numerous hotels situated along the beachfront. For visitors primarily interested in viewing the statue, I would recommend utilizing the Neptune parking lot, which is also a public parking area. During my visit during the week, I only spent $4 for the hour I was there.

We had such a great time at Neptune's Park! If you're thinking about visiting Virginia Beach, definitely make time for this spot; it's way more than just a photo op with the giant King Neptune statue (though yes, it's as impressive in person as you'd expect). The park is right on the boardwalk, which makes it super easy to get to, and it’s such a nice break from the beach if you want to relax without the sand. There’s live music in the evenings (check the schedule!), and we caught a band while we were there; fun atmosphere, lots of people dancing, families hanging out, and the ocean breeze just made it perfect. It’s very clean, well-maintained, and safe, with plenty of benches and open space to sit and people-watch or enjoy a snack. There were a few food vendors nearby too. And if you have kids, it’s a great place to let them run around while you chill out. One thing we appreciated: it feels welcoming to everyone; locals, tourists, families, couples. You can make a whole afternoon out of just strolling, grabbing a bite, enjoying the view, and taking in the vibe. Pro tip: Visit around sunset; it’s beautiful, and the lighting on the Neptune statue is perfect for photos. Highly recommend adding Neptune’s Park to your Virginia Beach list. It’s simple, but somehow still a highlight!

20250411 This is my iconic landmark for VA Beach. This statue is gigantic, and i have been to Virginia Beach the last 15 years, and this statue is holding up perfectly, no imperfections creates by changes in weather and length of time. If you come when the moon is visible, you will see it just to the right of Neptune (see my photos).

The statue was huge and looked very imposing. I liked all the details especially the colored eyes. The pictures do not do it justice on how big it actually looked. This was a nice addition to my night time stroll. Glad I saw it at night instead of during the day. I think it just makes it look cooler

Neptune's statue was well worth the time to travel to see it. It's probably in my top 5 of the most amazing work....kudos to the artist!! If you go, take your time to walk around it and really study all aspects of the sea life around Neptune. Parking is a pain at Virginia Beach during peak season, so be prepared to pay for parking in a lot and get there early.

Came here to visit all the way from Jersey. Beautiful park has a playground a nice dock to walk on as well as a long staircase and beautiful grass area. Expected there to be more to do. It was Saturday morning so a medium size crowd. Overall nice little stop if needed to kill time or looking for a nice quiet place to walk

The park was clean the sheltered was reserved tables were set up. The park and planning personnel was very helpful Brenda Torkilsome very professional and easy to work with. My only complaint a little cumbersome for senior to walk to shelter. We had shelter 1. The park ranger did come to try to accommodate some seniors.

Needs to be a national landmark for our country. It is so nice to see how one city made a decision to make somebody else's trash into a goldmine for kids and families. The park does need more cleanup after the cute little geese, as they come to the highest part of the mountain, and play with their families too. But in the evening the views are over a lake on one side and a highly viewable play area for kids on the other side of the mountain. There is a track the runs all around both sides of the mountain as well. Park is equipped with separate public bathrooms. Covered picnic table /barbecue pavilions, a skate park, and a stage for outdoor concerts too. Ample free parking. This is a PET FRIENDLY PARK. Closes at or around sunset. Great place for outdoor fun and I highly recommend it.

This is a great place to take your family to get in some exercise. There is a kids playground that will keep them entertained and exercised. Alot of nice people there walking and running. I came from Elizabeth City just to walk there

My 2 year old loves the playground at this park! Kids cove is So cute and fun. Always plenty of kids, but so much variety you never have to wait to play. Every visit has been a fun filled, memorable experience. Kids and parents are kind and considerate. The grounds are clean and well kept.

Beautiful park with restrooms, vending machines, and water bottle filling stations and water fountains. Stunning views from atop the mountain that is hard to believe is filled with decomposing trash. Walking trails are pavement. There are alot of steps leading up to the mountain. I think my kid counted 70 or so steps

I’ve visited Mt. Trashmore for over 25 years—still magical! The open hills, trails, and skyline views never get old. Now my 3-year-old and I make new memories where mine first began. 💛

Unbelievable. And not in the good way. My girlfriend and I started off thinking this was a good little waterpark. But then disaster struck. As we walked on the blazing hot surface to go up to the slides, we could see right at the top that there was a weight limit. I’ve never had an issue with weight limits on rides before, so we didn’t think anything of it. That was until we saw it was a 250lb per rider and 400lb per 2-person group limit. I myself weigh about 260lbs and my girlfriend weights a little over 150lbs. We were turned away only at the top once we got weighed and were embarrassed in front of many groups. We then realized that the weight limit was the same for almost every slide in the park. The only things we could do were the lazy river and the wave pool which was filled with kids. I am 19 and a little above average size for a 6’1” guy (picture in description for reference) and when I went online to purchase tickets, even after looking over all policies, there was no statements of weight limits, only height! I talked to multiple employees to try to get a refund since we had only been there for 30 minutes, but they said there was nothing they could do about it and laughed at us. I feel so embarrassed and even customer support has been ignoring us. Please beware if you are a little heavier than “normal”

We came here with the Stennis crew. Had an amazing time there was something for everyone. Normally I'm ready to leave a water park when it gets to hot but there were so many cabanas to take a quick nap and hide from the heat. The food was ok the same as any theme park food. Not sure if you can bring food in but we'd probably bring food to go eat and come back in. Also don't make the mistake we did with the souvenir cups ...apparently you get a free slushie with the unlimited drink pass if you purchase the souvenir cup. What we didn't know is that you have to purchase the cup from the gift shop or the slush stand to get the free slushie for the day but you can get regular fountain drinks there...made no sense. All together though, we'd come back.

This is my 3rd year having season passes and the meal plan for me and my family!! We go at least twice a week and love it! It is like a vacation every time we go! I love the Friday night movies! I have yet to run across a staff member who was not polite and friendly! I highly recommend this for locals and tourists! You will not be sorry! There is something for everybody!

I was so excited to attend this water park as it is our last summer adventure for the year 2025. But unfortunately all that excitement got short lived, it was dashed with embarrassment. The weather was perfect, the walk to the slide was met with great enthusiasm. My daughter and I were both so excited to ride together, we laughed and chided each other about not screaming or closing our eyes or holding on for dear life. We got to the top, waited in line and observing others being ushered to the mouth of each side. It was finally our turn and as we stepped forward we were told to stand on the scale. I repeated the instructions which was given and ask why do I need to stand on a scale? I was told “ you need to meet the weight requirement” I interrupted her by asking again I did not meet the weight criteria for the ride. The attendant looked at her partner then at me and said that’s the rule. So we stepped on the scales and again the attendant looked at their partner and boldly say “ you are not allowed because you are over the weight criteria”. My daughter looked at me with hurt, and disappointment in her eyes and asked “ mommy what’s wrong” I had to usher her away and return the way we came. I had to explain “ due to my overweight- fat “ I was denied. My daughter cried, because we were denied the fun, the thrill of the ride due to me being overweight. How much lazy river or wave pool can one enjoy? We did not. This was our worst experience ever…!!

I visited Ocean Breeze Waterpark today for a special event with my Navy command and had a great time! The park had amazing water slides, a fun wave pool, and a relaxing lazy river. I tried almost everything and really enjoyed myself. I'm glad my command offered discounted tickets and meal vouchers—regular admission, season passes, and food can get pretty expensive. I had a turkey leg, which was delicious, and the fries and chicken tenders were really good too. The park is definitely family-friendly, with a dedicated kiddie pool and small slides for younger children. While I had fun during my 4 to 5 hours there, I’m not sure I’d return anytime soon due to the high cost and limited variety of attractions. I wish there were a bit more to do for the price. Overall, it's a fun place to visit and a great spot for families. I would recommend it for a one-time experience, especially if you're able to get discounted tickets.

I can't wait for this place to open again, because we just had so much fun with my family here. The slides are just crazy and not just for kids! It's really nice to spend some quality time here as a family and behave like a child again. Great food options, it's easy to spend a whole day here.

This is definitely a place to retreat from the heat. Haven't been to a Waterpark stateside for a minute so not sure if $50 day pass without food or drinks is reasonable. If you can get your tickets through MWR, do that. 40$ for a day pass and less than twice that for a season pass! Different slides/activities for everyone to enjoy. There's locker rental, ice cream and candy shops amd lots of junk food options. Plenty of chairs but not a lot of shades unless you rent cabanas. Parking can be messy but at least it's provided and it's free.

Peaceful Spot for a Nature Walk, But Bring Bug Spray! We recently visited the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach, and while we didn’t spot too much wildlife during our trip, we still really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty of the area. It’s a great place to go for a relaxing walk—especially if you have kids who like to run around and explore. The trails are mostly flat and well-maintained, making them easy for little legs and stroller-friendly, which is a huge bonus for families. There’s a mix of sandy paths, wooden boardwalks, and open views of marshes, dunes, and the bay. It really is pretty, especially if you go close to sunset when the lighting is soft and golden. It feels tucked away and serene, even though it’s not too far from the more developed parts of Virginia Beach. That said—the bugs are no joke. We were swarmed by mosquitoes and gnats almost the entire time, and that was even with bug spray. It’s definitely one of those places where long sleeves and pants, plus heavy-duty repellent, are a must if you plan to stay any length of time. The bugs were really the only downside of the experience, but it was enough that we had to cut our walk shorter than planned. If you're sensitive to bites or traveling with little ones, definitely plan ahead. As for wildlife, we were hoping to spot birds or maybe even deer or turtles, but it was a quiet day—possibly due to the weather or the time of year. We did hear plenty of frogs and saw some dragonflies, but not the variety of wildlife we had imagined. That being said, it's a wildlife refuge, not a zoo, so sightings are never guaranteed. I’ve heard others say they’ve seen all kinds of birds and even wild horses from a distance on other visits, so it might just depend on your timing. There are restrooms near the visitor center and a few benches along the trails, but it's a good idea to bring your own water, especially on warm days. Parking was easy and affordable, and the entry fee is minimal (or free if you have a national park pass). Overall, it’s a calm, scenic spot to reconnect with nature, especially if you want something low-key to do with your family. Just be aware of the bugs, and don’t set your expectations too high when it comes to wildlife sightings. It’s perfect for a short walk, some quiet time, and letting the kids burn off a little energy outdoors. We’ll probably be back—just with even more bug spray next time!

This is a great place to come in both summer and winter. In summer there is a pristine beach with many native seabirds and large shells to observe. In winter, many migratory birds from up north come down here, and you can even see things like tundra swans.

It was peaceful and beautiful. Go early in the morning. You may see some amazing birds and definitely some great scenery. And possibly make a new reptile friend or two

This is an emersive experience with nature in the protected Virginia coastal wetlands. With the exception in one area, intentional littering, the property is well maintained and is inclusive to visit for everyone. Not all, but many areas are mobility friendly. This is a great place to visit with the whole family. There's plenty of hiking trails, flora, and fauna to observe. We saw rabbits, rodents, turtles, snakes, birds, crabs, and insects. So bring bug spray. There's not much shade, so bring the sunblock or appropriate attire. The entrance fee is $5 per vehicle. All national park passes are accepted here, or you can even purchase one at the entrance. Bikers and hikers are admitted in for free. It's opened a half hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset. No pets or animals are allowed on your visit. You can enjoy walking, biking, or hiking with miles of trails. You can visit the coastline without swimming. On the back bay side, you can bring your own kayak, canoe, or paddleboard to enjoy while being responsible to the environment. There's a launch area just off the parking lot by the handicap parking spaces. There's a welcome center with artifacts and info when open. You'll find the only parking and restrooms here. All trails start from this central location. We visited during a rain storm, so many pictures have puddles. Also, bring all essentials with you. You will not find food, drink, or gas to buy once inside. Get out and explore.

Really cool place that can take you all the way to NC. Bring water and a fat tire ( the beach cruiser was a massive 5 hour mistake). One thing to note is that the flys bite and wanted to be in your hair for some reason.

We biked to False cape state park from here, didn’t have time to walk around and the visitor center wasn’t open on our visit, but we had a great time in the nature. The ride to the Wash Woods is long (with kids) and MTB or fat tire is definitely recommended. The visitor center of False Cape is open everyday, which is nice, limited space but kids were excited about getting the Jr ranger badge. Today’s highest was 76F, which felt hot in the marshland with no shade, so wouldn’t do in the summer time.

Stopped in to mose around and ended up learning a lot. A very knowledgeable volunteer gave us a brief tour of the museum. Then we took our time browsing around.

An awesome free museum with an array of Virginia and Coast Guard history of the area. The staff was nice and gave great additional information as well. I loved the ghost stories. They are pet friendly and had a bowl of water out front for my guy to get a drink on the hot day. The rocking chairs were also a great addition to take a break while talking to the staff.

I love this place..so much information from the early days of Virginia Beach up thru current times..I remember taking my grandkids there one time for a children's program on pirates..also a nice gift shop thete.

The HRMHS, a history society, before the museum even opened, offered donations of appropriate and interesting items, and volunteered to help man the museum and give talks. We emphasized the history of lifesaving in Seatack and offered souvenirs for display. We were absolutely snubbed and the woman in charge refused to even speak to us other than to solicit cash and a truck.

An awesome little museum that is free! I learned a ton about lifeguards, the origins of it, as well as lots of stuff about the ocean. I love the chart showing all the ships that have gone down and the exhibit on surfing.

The name of this place undersells it. The subject matter, while surf & rescue for sure, is more complex than the "baywatch"-esque themes that spring to mind just passing by it. This museum covers the long history of shipwrecks in the Cape Henry area of Virginia and how the US Lifesaving Service served the crews of those ships - but it also covers the Lighthouse Service, the Coast Guard (including their role in WWII), U-boats along the Virginia coast, Maritime disasters, the Weather Service (predecessor to NOAA), and actual surfing. It's easily accessible from the oceanfront on foot. The main exhibit is on the first floor, which covers shipwrecks, surfing, and the Lifesaving Service. The second floor is undergoing a redesign of sorts, but with docent escort they'll let you up there on request. That was my favorite floor - everything up there was about the Coast Guard, Lighthouse Service, and the impact of World War II. In a nutshell I'd say the first floor is for the lightly interested visitor, the second floor is for the more serious maritime enthusiast. Access to the actual watch tower is restricted to special events. The one thing that this museum could benefit from is artifact-level interpretation - there are lots of interesting items on shelves that have their manufacturer's mark (i.e., gyroscope) so the viewer can generally tell what it is, but the history of the item (i.e., ship it came from, era, how the museum came to have it) would go a long ways towards instilling the importance of the artifact. As constructed, there are anchors and timbers and lanterns and all sorts of instruments that are grouped together to make aesthetically interesting displays about a topic, but as an artifact-phile, I was constantly wondering the history of those items themselves. A special mention is warranted for the macro artifacts on display outside - those are really neat. There are a couple WWII-era navy anchors (wonder what those have seen!), a freighter steering wheel, a life car, a couple capstans, a WWII USCG propeller (probably off USCGC Cherokee), and then multiple anchors, a boiler, and a buoy lantern salvaged from the ocean. And don't forget - the building itself is an artifact! The historic lifesaving station, while not particularly rare, is increasingly an uncommon sight and is very well kept. I spent an hour and a half here, pouring over every item, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended, and tip of the cap to the folks who keep this place running. No admission fee, but donations can be given at the desk and they give you a receipt for tax purposes.

Such a nice hidden gem right along the boardwalk. Past it quite a few time before we finally visited, but so happy we finally stopped. We walked around without a tour guide, but you can also get a guided tour. Price was very reasonable about $5-$10.

It is a cool looking place for events. Parking is no problem. Every year the Car Show has part of its event in the solarium /sunroom /atrium part and the rest inside the main hall. I don't know if it would be big enough to hold a VidCon or Comic-Con, but it would be interesting to see them try.

Came for the bridal expo in October. I could review the expo - but this is for the center itself!! The place is huge and beautiful! Statues of dolphins floating are so beautiful, and it was a comfortable temperature in the entire building. Parking was interesting, because with two events going on at the same time, a lot of the closer spots were already taken an hour before anything started. There are four to five or so different event halls within the center. There are stairs and escalators for going upstairs, but I didn't go up.

We attend several events here from time to time. Parking is super convenient and easy if you arrive early. We have attended gun shows, amateur radio shows, RV shows, coin shows, Comicon, and several graduations. It's a beautiful building and the staff are amazing. Great location in Virginia Beach, too.

Exactly as advertised-a big two room metal building. It’s hot- at times very hot as there is no air conditioning. Or at least they did not have it in the two weekends I was there. Extremely limited bathrooms and as expected a tremendously overpriced food court. So - a convention center

An amazing experience! I definitely had fun at this beach, the water was pretty chill and you can get stores to get stuff’s not far from the beach itself!

Everything I’ve ever attended here has been nicely organized & efficiently conducted. The building is massive with ample parking & restrooms. It’s always very clean. It’s also easy to get in & out of without much traffic, the exception being when they’re starting/ending a race at the convention center & roads are closed.

Such a great sports establishment. Super clean, and the basketball courts are brand new and beautiful to play on. The food and drinks are very expensive, but like in other sports establishments.

For many years, I have studied Edgar Cayces readings and find his legacy fascinating. We were in Virginia so of course, had to visit the headquarters. I could spend weeks in the library. The gift shop had some interesting things as well. All the staff were friendly and helpful too.

We liked coming back to Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. this morning and visiting the bookstore there. Although the meditation room upstairs still was closed as of today, it was good to see others in the bookstore supporting the good work that Edgar Cayce helped to start many decades ago. There are several books that I liked, and one of them I bought with a discount because of my membership. It’s wonderful to support the good work that this organization does!

Very interesting place to go. I’m not the type that would really put my interest into this type of stuff, but it was very interesting learning about Edgar Cayce’s life and his abilities to help people and tell them remedies of what they need and or tell others about loved ones. The library after the tour of the place was very insightful and cool to go through. I bought two photography books, since Edgar was into photography just like I am which is special to me. It was very interesting learning about Edgar’s life and his potential of his abilities.

We visited the library on the second floor and saw the complete holdings of the Cayce works, as well as many rows of shelves with relevant subjects. I could have pitched a tent there and remained!! The gift store is on the first floor. Mediation room on third floor. Spa is in a nearby building. Ample parking. Easy access. Friendly helpful staff. I bought four books in the store.

Very warm and friendly and I love the educational programs. All kinds of different points of view so you can figure out what it is you think and believe.

I enjoyed the multiple activities and stands. The price was very fair and it included parking, a ride, petting zoo. The animals are all well taken care of. Public areas are clean enough. Staff is everywhere and available. I tried the best snacks, sweet gourmet pecans, eveeeerrr. Took great pictures with all my friends, would definitely recommend as a family friendly ambience. I was kind of sad there were no flowers this time.

I got to tag along with my daughters school for a field trip. We had so much fun! Staff was so friendly and helpful. Everything was well kept and the animals were so fun to see! This will be a yearly thing we do from now on.

My family, from youngest to oldest, enjoyed the visit! We especially liked feeding and interacting with the parakeets! Great variety of animals for us to see, well kept and clean. Lots of activities and gift shop💛

Had an absolute blast at the farm. We came with the family during the day to the petting farm and we had a blast learning about the animals and got to bottle feed and cuddle with the Mini Highland cows! They are amazing! We stayed as the night fell, ate some delicious pulled pork sliders, deep fried Oreos, and a bucket of fries that was enough to feed 4 people! We had a blast at the Haunted Hunt Club Carnivore Chaos event! It was visually amazing, and such a huge event! We legitimately got scared several times. How the farm turns from bright and full of life, to horror based fun is unreal! 10 out of 10 will be back!

My Kids and I enjoyed our visit. Lots of animals to pet and feed, the birds are always a favorite. We didn't do the haunted hay ride this year but we did enjoy many of the other fall activities!

Always fun going to Hunt Club Farms in Oct. 4 haunted houses cost $40. Get there early, the hay ride is the longest wait. They've dont a great job with scary entertainment, some vendors, food, coffee... great areas to get that fall picture with your loved ones.

I came here for my daughter's birthday weekend with her friends. Everything was well organized here, we were able to take pictures here, the line were pretty long but moving, the hay ride was the longest line of them all but worth getting in line as long as the music is still playing. As far as scary goes it really isn't but you can make it fun for your children. To me personally I felt like I was walking on a trail through a halloween museum. Everything was well decorated, I truly appreciate the staff. The hay ride was good but could of been more better with more of scary things along the road way before the destitation (Jeeper's Creeper's perphapsfor nexr year). This place do need more scary creativity but overall was fun & less talking more of scary sound affects or pop ups out of know where. Thank you

Many different levels of go-kart racing from timed tracks to lapped tracks. Very enjoyable. Took my 15-yo with his friend and they loved it. Will be back again. Wanted to try the adult track but ran out of time. We did the Grand Prix and The 4 lap track(can't remember the exact name) then went on to mini golf. Everything is right there within just a few steps so that was nice. A little pricey. For the 2 hours we were there we dropped $150 just on go-kart and mini golf fees but again it was fun. We'd go again.

Several road courses and various types of karts. A lot of fun for kids, from 6 up to 76. Reasonable waiting time. Well trained and friendly staff. Looks quite safe.

Just went putt putt golfing here a few days ago. As a local, I could tell they put some work into tidying up the place compared to when I was there last. They had new paint on surfaces and new greens on all the courses. Very fun and inviting!

We were visiting from out of town and my cousin and family took us there. My son and boyfriend had an absolute blast! I didn't drive but I 100% enjoyed watching them.

For my son and me, it was our first time driving go-karts, and it was incredible. The staff was very helpful with our questions. 10/10

We had a good time here. Many rides to choose from. You can either get individual tickets which is $11 per ride or choose unlimited rides for 3 hours which is more expensive. The tracks are bigger than others that we have been. We felt it was safe and fun. Its about a 8-10 minutes drive from the boardwalk.
