Beautifully done. There are a lot of interactive learning mediums in the visitor center and quality gifts in the shop. As heart wrenching as it was to walk through this respectful park, it was also a great opportunity to learn as well as pay respect to fallen soldiers. The walk paths are well groomed and marked, some inclines exist, however they are mobility friendly. There are lots of benches throughout to take a break. Plenty of parking. The staff is courteous and helpful.
Unless you take the tour, there really is not much to see on the self-paced tour; however, there are information placards along the trail. Much of the battlefield is now a residential area. We visited this location in 2006 and took the tour. We recently stopped again in 2025, and not much has changed, so we just walked along the trail ourselves without taking the tour in the heat. It appeared that the grounds were being taken care of, and there were a lot of people walking around. We took our time and pursued our own interests. We wanted to go back and focus more on the sunken road this time. If you are in Fredericksburg, you need to add this location as a stop so that you can find out the history about the battles and the cemetery.
Not much to see. All of the artifacts have been removed from the visitor center for building renovations. The grounds are pretty sparse. The short trail takes you to a small cemetery and one house. The other houses are private residences and not open to the public. I was hoping for more history, actually going to the battleground area, artifacts & exhibits. They said at the top of the hill is a great view of the city, it's blocked by trees. Best part of the visit was the friendly kitty that wanted pets.
The visitor’s center was closed when I went, but the gift shop was open, which had a lot of information. The staff in the gifts shop were very cordial and helpful. The battlefield near this portion was a short walk around and worth seeing. The sunken road has been restored to look as close as possible to what it would have looked like during the battle.
Big fans of our National Parks and the Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania parks do not disappoint. The park was clean, friendly staff, and history rich. We were extremely happy to pay homage to the sacrifices made here and learn for a better future. We also got lucky with the visitor center still being open contrary to what was posted online. Not so lucky with the mansion but it was still so beautiful to walk around and enjoy!
Really enjoyed Fredericksburg and the drive to get there. You can feel the historic nature of this place.
Site of the 1862 battle between Lee's Confederate forces and Burnside's Union forces. The visitor center is going through a renovation so many of the displays were empty. There is a driving trail where you can see Lee's Hill, Horizons Hill, the Union Breakthrough, and Prospect Hill. You can also walk the Sunken Road area and National Cemetery. National Park passport stamp is located in the gift shop.
Great spot for a quick walk with your dog! Large parking lot! Plenty of trash bins for your garbage or dog potty bags. Mobile restrooms during the govt shutdown on-site.

Chatham Manor is a wonderful (family-friendly) place to visit anytime of the year….as the flowers/garden are always changing according to the seasons. It offers historical significance and serenity. We go back every chance we get!
I really enjoyed visiting this peaceful place. It’s very quiet, open, not very crowded, and 100% free. The view of downtown Fredericksburg is also quite lovely.
The interior is closed until approximately August 2026. There were no rangers or staff available for questions. This is a place that evokes very mixed feelings. It makes a good add-on if you're visiting the battlefield. If you are making this a destination stop, I'd wait until the renovations are complete.
We originally took away 2 stars for this location since you are only permitted to see three rooms on the main floor due to renovations, and there were no rangers or docents that even cared to speak with us. We walked in the building, were told you could only go into three rooms, and were handed a paper about the location. This experience was quite different from the many other locations we have visited, which are all managed by the National Park Service. HOWEVER... Let a couple with a passion for history and the paranormal wander the grounds of a historical site with paranormal claims without any supervision. You can almost guarantee what will happen next. That's right, we conducted a spirit box session out on the grounds where there are two unmarked graves. Sorry, National Park Service, we know all too well that you frown upon those who are interested in the paranormal. That's ok, though; we earned those two stars back for you. BTW, Marianne got a great kick (no sarcasm here) out of the dead turtle left on the driveway. She loved it. Our Haunted Travels will soon release a blog post and video.
Would have been a 5 star recommendation but when we went the main house at Chatham was closed. The flowers and gardens are a must see feature!
We've always enjoyed visiting Chatham Manor, especially the grounds and gardens. While still lovely, we were shocked at the condition of the gardens. Weeds were several feet tall in places, and the grass was so long that it was hard to see the various sections and boundaries. The brick sidewalks are getting overgrown with grass as well.
I attended an after hours photography event hosted by the friends of Chatum manor. While the entrance gates and buildings close at 5 once you are in you may stay on the grounds until 8pm. Photographers are allowed to take family and wedding pictures on the grounds. The flowers and bumble bees were still active in the gardens. The sunset view was lovely.
Beautiful quaint historic house! Lots of history! George Washington and Abe Lincoln were here!

It's a great, beautiful historical town. Perfect for a day trip getaway. Wonderful restaurants and shops.
I was driving down Sophia Street, when I spotted a historical marker, that led me to park and tour the area. I had found the oldest documented structure in Fredericksburg. The Thornton Tavern c.1746. It had gone through an extensive rehabilitation in 2013, per the historical record, resulting in the current look.
Great organization. Candlelight Tour is the best in Virginia.
Attended the Elby Brass Band concert on the steps of the library last night. It was a fantastic show and the library was very accommodating. The concert was well attended. Recommend bringing lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on the grass.
Very nice. Full of history. The organization is very active in preserving and presenting Fredericksburg's history.
They have a lot of local history documentation and I have found a lot of information in my research. The workers are very friendly and helpful.
Everything about historic Fredericksburg is beautiful except one big ugly office building and a house ob the Rappanock River that looks like a post office and ruins the view.
I'm a hiker so the pedestrian paths were great.

We really loved all the micro museums in Fredericksburg. This was by far our favorite. There was no wait when we got there. The staff were friendly and inviting. The first floor is a guided tour and upstairs is on your own. They offer fun facts about the past and have unique stories and decor. We walked there as parking downtown can be a challenge. We spent maybe 45 mins there but that was because we talked to our tour guide after. We recommend this fun little place if you’re in the area!
We had to wait a little bit to take the tour since there was a private tour going on when they first opened. The wait was fine, and we were glad we decided to go back. The docent was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. We really enjoyed the tour. There are many artifacts at the location to see and enjoy, including a replica of the bar, which was fascinating. After touring several hundred locations, this is the first time we heard how the taverns worked back when they were in operation. The fact that families would sometimes have to share beds or rooms with other families at times... yeesh. If we ever find ourselves back in the area again, we would probably include this location as one of our stops. Thank you, an excellent experience.
Walk in the footsteps of Revolutionary history as a period-costumed tour guide paints verbal pictures of this building's past lives as home to George Washington's Brother and decades as a local tavern and public house. Follow the GPS and park on one of the nearby streets. We found a spot quickly even though there was a festival happening a few blocks away.
A fascinating experience that I recommend if you are in the area.
Great experience, the guided tour was very interesting.
Interesting place to tour. The guides are in period costume and take you on a journey
A wonderful tour! Our guide brought history to life as she explained what the accommodations, food, and local customs were like in a colonial tavern. Of particular interest was the origin of various sayings like "double fisted drinker". Not to be missed!
Very cool history. We did a behind the scenes tour and learned a lot of interesting stuff.

The staff was incredibly friendly and informative. I took my 12-year-old son for a walk there after breakfast, and he was fascinated by all the herbal products. We even had the chance to touch a live leech!
I loved visiting this place. It may not be big but there is a lot of interesting things to see and learn here. It was surprising how some things still have relevance today. There is no need to buy tickets in advance and no wait for me.
The museum is fascinating. The guided tour is phenomenal and both ladies give a lot of good historical information in a fun way. The garden out back is fun to walk through as well. Definitely worth visiting.
We missed out on touring this location since they had a private tour going on the only day and time we had to visit the museum. After waiting outside for almost an hour, we had to move onto the other locations we wanted to visit. There was limited time since most of these locations closed at 5 p.m. With the history of the original owner and the connection to the Washingtons, we really would have loved to go inside the building. We did spend sometime outside looking at the house and the gardens over the fence. If we ever find ourselves back in Fredericksburg again, we would love to add this location to our bucket list.
The apothecary shop was very interesting. Both of the individuals who were dressed in period costumes were very knowledgeable and personable. The tour was well done and the shop is worth visiting
Not a high traffic area. Two short tours. One critique, the gentleman doing the medical part with the teeth, he was hard to understand. Really mumbled and rushed thru the presentation. Slow down and enunicate.
What an absolutely mind-blowing experience! the narration, storytelling and role-playing that they did while walking through what medicine looked like in the 18th century was just too good. It's nothing less than listening to a horror movie but so intense and well done. Absolute gem.
This is a cute little shop right in the Main Street in downtown Fredericksburg. It’s a great chance to take a peek into the history of this town in a convenient location. The people that worked there were very sweet and informative. It’s not the most exciting experience for young kids, it mostly goes over their heads. But we had fun with the leeches! They explain different medical procedures and a lot of that involves blood and bleeding and somewhat unpleasant things, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing kids. Over all really cool information and a fun little thing to do with your favorite history buff.

Beautiful, historic home in downtown Fredericksburg, VA. We enjoyed an extremely informative, 45 minute guided tour by Kevin and had time to tour the exhibits and galleries. Street parking and public restrooms. They also have a modest gift shop. Highly recommend. Plan for at least and hour or two hours to tour the home and grounds.
We were given a very informative tour of this beautiful mansion. There are displays, an intro movie, and a modest gift shop, Rooms have nice colors and fascinating frescas. Tour addressed history of the mansion, background of the Lewis family, and ties to George Washington. A chair was provided for me sit on due to ailing back. Suggest a companion tour to nearby Ferry Farms. You can acquire a combo ticket at Kenmore.
We debated on if we should add this location to our stop, and we are so glad that we decided to go and take the tour. Wow, what a wonderful location full of history. There is a museum at the entrance that houses some great artifacts and information about the Lewis family. We had to wait a bit for the tour, but it wasn't bad since tours were scheduled. You can only tour the first floor of the house because the ceilings are so amazing and worth seeing. The docent on our tour was extremely knowledgeable and gracious. Would definitely go back again if we get the chance.
Kenmore is a beautiful historic property. The house and gardens are well-preserved, offering a peaceful and enriching glimpse into 18th-century life. A must-see for history lovers!
Interesting tour. The tour guide asked if we'd like his introduction to Kenmore inside or outside. We said outside. However, we didn't realize that we'd be sitting in the sun. It was hot. The tour was interesting and we enjoyed it. I looked online prior to leaving home to see if there are scheduled tours but I couldn't find anything. However, the receptionist at Kenmore gave us options for scheduled tours. It would be great to have this info online. Perhaps, call Kenmore to learn about scheduled tours.
I never knew this place was so close to my house! The architecture and the details in every single room were magnificent. My favorite was the ceilings, such a beautiful piece of art, the people that made this were true artist! We learned a lot about the history of this place and the importance they had for Fredericksburg. Great place to come with family!
Great museum. Wonderful guided tour. Informative kind guides.
I've toured many historic sites but each one has a slightly different story. This particular location was interesting, well maintained and the tour was well executed.

Great museum with friendly staff. Nice walking trail on the Sunkin Road. Lots of history with plenty of marked locations and monuments to read about. Plenty of parking. Great for smaller kids too. Cute bookstore to get state park stamps too.
This is a very well preserved, and probably most important, section of the battlefield (which was basically the entire town). Even though the world has grown around the grounds, you can still feel the environment that was during this battle. This one is ideal for those that can't walk great distances, as the trail is short and flat, unless you choose to climb the bluff above the sunken road and visit the cemetery.
All of the exhibits are gone from the visitors center for building renovations. Only 1 of the 3 buildings on the battlefield are open to the public; the others are private residences. That leaves a short uphill walk to a cemetery with not much to look at. I was hoping for more history. Highlight of the visit was an extremely friendly kitten.
Great displays and knowledgeable staff very willing to discuss the history of the site. The Innis house and sunken road were very interesting. The battlefield Cemetery was very moving
Well worth a visit. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the video was informative and the whole site was so interesting and easy to walk around. Don’t forget to visit the bookstore as well, lots of interesting things in there. Thank you for such a great site.
Gives you a clear insight to the battle that occurred here. Helpful rangers. Clean restrooms. Informative exhibits.
Had a great time here, learning about the war and it's cost on the people who lived through it.
Very interesting. We love checking out the history of our country! The woman there was especially informed and very kind. Can't wait to go back, when we can stay longer.

This is a terrific museum, rich with U.S. history. We started our tour of the Mary Washington House with a detailed overview from Heather, who is quite knowledgeable. Give yourself at least one hour to tour the house and longer, if you plan to read all of the historical placards throughout the house. They have a very nice museum store; I bought quite a few items to give as gifts. There is street parking and a public restroom.
We visited this site in 2006 but couldn't tour it because it was closed. This year, we wanted to stop and take the tour since we once again found ourselves in Fredericksburg, and the museum is a must see location if you are into the history of the nation. Our docent/tour guide was quite knowledgeable about the Washington family and the situation behind the house. The main takeaway we had was that George wanted to buy this house for his elderly mother, so she could leave the not-so-profitable farm and live closer to his sister's property (Kenmore), which was within walking distance for Mary. Mary spent the final years of her life in this house, which later saw additions from other residents. There are some fascinating artifacts inside, and the garden was fascinating to walk through as well. There is only one negative—not really enough to even take away a star—but during our tour, the docent mentioned that there was an item in the gift shop that had the recipe for Mrs. Washington's gingerbread. We were unable to find that item, and now my wife is obsessed with trying to locate the original recipe. She has even sent an email requesting more information, but after a couple of weeks with no response... she is going to look elsewhere. We are glad that we made it a point to take the tour this time. There are several more photos and a video we are producing about this location. Just search for Our Haunted Travels.
Good for educational field trips for school and homeschool group. And for those who loves historic places like this one. The tour guide knows what he is talking about.
Amazing tour! We loved our time here.
The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took time to answer all of our questions. It's wonderful to see this home so beautifully maintained.
We were just a bit disappointed with this one thought. We would be able to see more.
The house is set up for when Mary Washington lived in the house. It has had several upgrades since she lived there, so not everything in the house belonged to Mary Washington. The tour guide was very informative and nice and let us through the rooms with a lot of information about the house and the contents. There is an upstairs where George Washington stayed when he came to visit his mother, that you get to go to on your own to look around. If you’re a history buff or a George Washington fan, I recommend you touring this house.

Step back in history and get a vanilla malt. It's worth it. It's fantastic. I've been going to this place since I was a kid because I love the history of it and the efforts they've made to keep it the corner drugstore. The counter service is great, the staff is always friendly and the food is what you'd expect it to be. It's not a modern restaurant, it's what you would expect of a historic lunch counter. And the menu and food may sound basic, but I've consistently enjoyed what I've gotten over the years. It's very nostalgic and I"m thankful that they keep it that way.
Soda Fountain Review: Looking over other reviews I'm glad I didn't use them to determine if we should stop in for lunch. We had excellent service, we were waited on quickly and all the staff were very friendly. The menu is small; just a few sandwiches, shakes, malts and floats but what they make is good. We had the Chicken Salad, BLT, Chocolate Malt and Rootbeer Float and loved them all. We'll be back for lunch again! I can understand disappointment if you're wanting something "fancy" but if you're looking for simple, yet good food, and a bit of the nostalgia of an old soda stop in and try them out.
Fantastic milkshakes and friendly staff. The place is the oldest always in business pharmacy and milkshake shop in the nation. It was great to come in and out was nice to see what somewhere like this looked like. Thank you for a good time. I appreciate you asking me for my order or if I wanted a water instead. Thank you.
Goolrick’s was established in 1867! They have a lunch counter and a pharmacy (that makes compounded medication, as needed). One of two compounding pharmacies in the area. I came here for lunch with friends. We each had a different sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their lunch. The service was excellent. The menu is very basic, but the food was well prepared. Another friend picked up a milkshake here last week and said it was fantastic. Street parking only, which can be a challenge.
2/10/22 How disappointing and what an opportunity. I saw this in Only in Virginia and rode 85 miles for a step back in time. TAKE OUT ONLY!! Styrofoam cup for your shake, egg salad sandwich wrapped in white paper put in a white bag and out you go. Covid things are opening uup but not here, and I was the only person in the place Nice "ice cream" tables but no "the owner says carryout only" It was kinda sad. I don't think they will be there much longer and such an opportunity with so little work. There is no way to rate the food or malt under these conditions. I hope they have better times ahead of them. Things aren't good now.
Great stop for excellent milkshakes and authentic fountain soda. It’s a small spot, so it can get crowded. The staff was really friendly and helpful. They have food but we didn’t eat anything. I enjoyed a banana milkshake which was delicious. We also enjoyed a Vanilla Coke. Stop in when visiting Fredericksburg!
Historically, this place is great. In today's world, not so much unfortunately. If you don't know what you want to order the minute you sit down, then be prepared to not receive service. Other customers who were seated after us received faster service. We actually had to flag a server down. We felt we were being ignored. After waiting for a total of 25 minutes, we were told that they were out of turkey. At 1PM. Choosing to not have any other item (mayo galore!), we decided to leave. And were charged for the one soda. If it had been my business, I would have been embarrassed over the lack of service and product, apologized and wrote off the soda. Too many other restaurants in the area to patronize this one.
Cute bit of nostalgia. I think it is a real functioning pharmacy but the snack bar is the tourist attraction.

This is a terrific museum in downtown Fredericksburg; self guided. There is a lot of information here to read and learn about James Monroe. Plan to spend at least an hour. Street parking, public restrooms and gift shop. Well worth your time.
The James Monroe Museum is a small but great stop for history lovers. It features a collection of Monroe artifacts that offer insight into his life and presidency. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Fredericksburg and interested in early American history.
This is an absolutely amazing museum. I learned a lot about James Monroe when I was here. I also love the way it’s laid out. It is a self guided tour. However, there is staff on hand to ask questions. The exhibits are laid out very well and there are detail descriptions about each one. Also, they have a very clean toilet here and that made me happy. All I know me and my partner really enjoyed visiting this museum and I highly recommend it if you pass through this area.
With so many work and living locations around Virginia, it is hard to gather a lot of James Monroe items in any one place. They did a fine job with what they acquired. You can have a short 20-30 minute visit to see the highlights or you can spend hours on the comprehensive timelines of Monroe's lifetime. Small, but the 4 rooms are well laid out, so it doesn't feel crowded. At $6, with many categories of discounts to reduce it further, the admission is affordable. I had a wonderful visit. I will bring friends next time.
What a wonderful piece of history! Katherine was a great guide who taught me a lot and gave me some insight of this museum and Fredericksburg. Has a bit of history and is a great piece to this great town!
We knew very little about James Monroe and walked away with great knowledge and interest to learn more. It is small, but very well put together and not very expensive.
So many of his personal effects. Really brings you back in time
This a excellent place to visit. This shows the true life of the 5th president of the USA. (Well as much as they can and find) they have so much to see here this great for all History buffs, this great for all who whish to learn on the 5th president of the USA. Went primarily for the GW house tour and the Gingerbread house exhibit. The tour guide was excellent! The house is small but full of treasures, and she was extremely knowledgeable about the Washington family and the grounds. We enjoyed the walk down to the river and viewing the house from the riverbank. The grounds are beautiful even in the winter. We will have to come back to spend some time in the small museum when we can. This little slice of history is a gem!
Super cool place to walk around if you have some time in Fredricksburg. Great views, beautiful and gigantic trees with so much grass to roam around in. My cousin took me here when I went to visit, we weren’t planning on it but I very much enjoyed our leisurely stroll around this area. It’s also free! So that’s was awesome.
I had a great time visiting George Washington’s Ferry Farm! Our instructor was very knowledgeable and made the tour both informative and fun with a touch of humor. The grounds are beautiful—clean, full of old trees, and offer a peaceful walk with stunning views of the river and open land. Highly recommend for a relaxing and educational outing!
I really enjoyed coming here, it was like going to Mt. Vernon but a lot smaller and easier for small children. We signed up for a program and tour and the guide Jeanne was incredible. She spoke at the right levels for the kids and was so gentle and fun with them. This place is still under Seuss I am hoping to come back when the kitchen is replicated.
The George Washington Ferry Farm is a nice re-creation of the original homestead. The group rebuilding the farm to its original state have done a good job giving visitors a glimpse into the past. Nice tour gives you a back history. Very nice stroll around the grounds gives you a perspective on the General's Life. Take an hour and enjoy.
Awesome stop for sure. My recommendation, don't just pay for the grounds ticket, it's not worth it as you miss out on much of the context of the area. I paid for the tour and we discussed basically the entire area, as well as toured the interior of George Washington's boyhood home. There is seating throughout the tour if you get tired, and plenty of opportunity for questions and answers. I quite enjoyed my time at this location. If you would rather not spend any money, simply enjoy the interior of the visitors center where there is plenty of well laid out historical information in a mini museum about the location.
We had a private tour today of Ferry Farm - George Washington's Boyhood home. It was very informative. We enjoyed it.
Excellent tour of Grorge Washington's boy hood home by docent; very knowledgeable; worth the visit. Now I want to learn more about his mother- Mary Ball Washington; a woman before her time.

Did the tour and tasting. Absolutely amazing and zero complaints (outside of I would have loved a few more samples :P ) Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and answered a ton of questions that another group member asked (all the questions were excellent, no complaints here about that). I believe our tour guide was Dale? (It started with a D, don’t remember 100% unfortunately). It’s awesome to learn about a company with over 100 year history and how they do things. Definitely a must see. Bonus, their bright and complex gin was extremely good. Might be my go to gin moving forward.
We just had the most amazing Sunday afternoon!!!!!! We have been growing our collection and eagerly stopped by this distillery today. We had the option to do a tour, but we decided to do a tasting. Our guide was Jeff, he knew so much info. Before the tasting he ordered them by proof and then told us some background about each bottle. Then later Jeff told us about the award winning bottles and about how to smoke an old fashioned. He also explained how to find out about upcoming events and lotteries! We can’t wait to go back for a tour!! This distillery was very welcoming and informative!
This was my second tour at Bowman still had a great time. There’s a lot of great history here and it is very cool to see the history of this distilleries growth from infancy to a nationally respected name in the Bourbon industry. The tours are free and always ending a tasting . If you’ve never been and/or don’t know much about Bourbon there is a great place to check out. Their gift shop is quaint, and the people here seem to really love their job .
We had a great time visiting the Bowman distillery!! The gift shop had great options and was aesthetically appealing. Our tour guide Kevin was friendly and very knowledgeable. The tasting was a perfect end to a great experience!
Tour was excellent. Very informative. Nice variety of items in the gift shop. Hard to decide what to purchase since there were so many great choices, but I narrowed it down to a few.
Almost 7 years ago, this distillery was the first part of mine and my husband’s date. We met here in November 2018. Who knew we would be coming back here in September 2025 with our 3.5 year old! Our experience was just like what we remembered-greeted warmly and all of the products were top notch. Jeff did a great job of helping us out today with enjoying a last minute unscheduled tasting. He was very knowledgeable and personable. I wish we had time for the tour, but our daughter needed to have her lunch and take a nap! The facility is beautiful inside and we had a great experience and would highly recommended stopping by here if you are in the Fredericksburg area. We will be back for sure!!!
Went on a tour of the distillery and tasting. What a great experience. Jeff was very knowledgeable and told us all about the process. The bourbon is delicious. Bought several bottles on the spot. Surprised to find such a hidden gem right here in Fredericksburg. Planning to come back with some friends in the future.
Jeff did an amazing job as our tour guide today. The whole place felt cozy and we left with so much information and knowledge.

Attended the Gothic Market. Very nice convention space. Plenty of parking. There was a line wrapped around the building but it moved quickly. Friendly staff. Looking forward to attending more shows and events here.
Visited for our daughters cheer competition. It's not a bad venue overall for the event, but few things could have been better. First, there was a scheduled food drive at the same time as the competition. It took me 30 minutes to drive between 2 lights. Had to let my wife and daughter out in the middle of the road so they could walk to the center. I pulled a turn at the light and ended up parking at a hotel a few blocks away, across from the Wegmans. They have a pretty good selection of food at their 1 concession stand. Naturally, with 100's of starving girls, the line to get food was long, very, very long. We waited about 30 mins to get up to order our food. I also only saw 2 people working, they were hustling, though. Nothing wrong with the effort, but it seems their is a lack of logistics and planning.
Dropped wife off for Sewing Expo....put a hold on Her credit cards and gave Her $20. for Coffee....placed my Text on Auto reply "no, we don't need one of those". Hope She wins the door prize.
Not a bad venue for hosting the cheer competition. The food line was very long and parking was a nightmare. We ended up parking at the Wegmans because traffic was so bad. They should consider providing more food options and better traffic and parking management. Overall it was a nice venue for a function.
My husband and I went to the quilt expo in Fredericksburg and loved it. We really liked the layout of the venue and the vendors. Will definitely go again next year. Thank you for a great show.
Good wide open space, went for a Craft Festival it was spacious and had a food court for the event. Wide entry and a nice place to go to, especially if you book events such as a wedding.
No go for instaworkers looking to serve for their catering services. Considering many servers drive out from Maryland, I find it insulting the manager ( white shorter older lady curvy ) , gets petty and rates workers 1 star since they don’t want to stay longer than the contracted time. Also, they don’t communicate to other about other issues they have and we may not know that causes 1 star rating. This kind of behavior puts people’s livilyhood at stake.
It had wonderful quilts from local quilters. Theme quilts of endangered species were very good and some of them seemed to come alive with color and sensitivity. Also, they had theme quilts of aloft. There were many that were amazing to look at. Other many other quilts were good. Some great. The African quilt guild had many wonderful, colorful and original designed ones too. It was very pleasurable walking around to view the creative works that many quilters put their hard work and thoughts in making their individual quilts. Check out the many quilt photos that are attached. Beautiful and Special. It was worth making this show and being able to enjoy it!

Great place to visit if you’re into history. Came from Europe and was impressed, very well kept, loved the monument to the CSA soldiers. People hating have no appreciation of history and want to whitewash it in order to appease their predilect protected groups.
Haven't been there yet but I am looking forward to it. My 2nd great granduncle died from wounds during the battle for Fredericksburg, he was a Confederate soldier with the 30th North Carolina Infantry, Company H. I strongly believe he was buried at this cemetery.
Very impressive . Alot of graves from those that died during war ,most after . Plan about 3 hours
Very nice cemetery with lots of history.
The average soldier doesn’t get in the politics of war usually. Early recruits mostly get to enjoy the cause- the rest go because their country says go. We can’t force modern beliefs and knowledge on these brave men.. in most times I find- people cryin about these men will never measure up to them. Great place to walk and think about the war.
Well kept but depressing. They gave their lives in defense of an economic system based on the suffering, bondage and blood of other human beings. Similar to German military cemeteries, there is no glory in the cause, but the dead were loved and gave all.
A sad place to visit, as all the Civil War cemeteries tend to be. I disagree with the review that called them traitors and fools. They fought and died for something they believed in to such an extent that they gladly gave their lives ... we seldom see that kind of commitment any more (with the exception of our current service men and women). This was worth the time to stop and pay your respects, even if they fought for what you consider to be the wrong side.
Can'e Wait to visit. Sad that so many still think the War Between the States was fought over slavery. Many famous officers and enlisted, as well as prominent citizens and ordinary people buried here.
