This place is definitely worth a stop on the Shinkansen! There are 130 coin operated vending machines to choose from. Most of them dispense sake, but they also do soju, plum wine and red wines as well. Coins are 100 yen each. Most machines take 1 coin, and premium drinks are 2 or more. There is space to put your bags or coats if you don’t want to carry them around, but nothing is secured, so do so at your own risk. The staff are polite and accommodating.
Like everyone in the reviews are saying - definitely a must do when you arrive at the station! I found out about this place via google map reviews and honestly - despite not being a sake fan I enjoyed myself a little too much with the plum flavoured sake. Again - as mentioned, you need to line up and provide a 500 yen that will be broken down into tokens that you can insert to get a tester of the sake you choose. There’s so many and it’s easy to get a little overwhelmed but be like me and stick to the right hand side where the plum sakes are. You don’t be disappointed!
A sake(Japanese rice wine) tasting shop with over 110 sakes available from different local brewers of Niigata. Niigata brewing is renowned for its non-sweeten and mild-dry taste that differs from the famous Harima and Kyoto brewing. Here the local sake are with different sweetness, dryness and even fruit aroma. To begin with, buy some tokens at the entrance and you will get a small cup. Place your cup under the outlet of the sake slot you picked, then insert token (1-2 respectively) required and press the yellow button, the sake will be served. Such a complete collection of local sake is rarely found in other places. It is recommended to start a research to screen out the Niigata sake that you may be interested first before tasting them here. #56 Midorikawa would be my personal favourite that light drinkers from aboard can easily accept its mild yet elegant taste.
Such a great way to sample lots of different kinds of sake! This shop is located in the train station. There are machines with different sakes containing a variety of signage described flavor profiles at varying price points per sample. Tried a small handful of sakes and they were all really solid.
I visited around 6pm on a Tuesday. The place seems to have a crowd all the time. You pay at the front counter and get your coils to use to drink your sake. There's a huge range to select from and you can get more coins if you wish to.
This is the Sake Tasting Room in the Ponshukan Marketplace. All Niigata sakes. The most expensive of them all is numbered 115, Shirataki SEVEN at 10 coins a cup. There are also salt & miso stations to go with chilled cucumber for 150 yen a piece. Pairs well with any warmed, chilled or room temperature sakes.
Great variety of Sake and other liquors to choose from. 130 types in total. ¥500 gives you 5 coins, most of the sakes are 1 coin per cup. The premium ones are 2 coins and above. Definitely worth a visit if you're around the area.
You exchange ¥500 for 5 gold-coin tokens and then use those tokens in the vending machines. There is more than enough sake to choose from. Nearly 100 sake to choose from! You can also choose Shōchū and I believe I saw wine but we were there for the sake. You can also get cucumbers to munch on. You can either have that with various types of salt or miso paste. Water is available to cleanse your pallet. Very enjoyable and heaven if you love sake!

It’s far from Tokyo but it’s absolutely worth going, I’m an amateur snowboarder but the snow was fluffy and soft which made it easier for me and more enjoyable. The lift ticket was also a fair price and if you’re good at this you could do it as many times as you want, the queue isn’t too bad. The staff are friendly and there was someone needed help which they sent snowmobile asap and managed the situation. Less crowded than Gala so it’s much better. You could rent your ski or snowboard equipment and clothes from nearby shop as on the resort it might be expensive.
Naibos ski resort is the biggest and best equipped in the area if not all of Niigata. It has high speed lifts, gondolas, and conveyor belt lifts for beginners. If this is the first time skiing with friends of varied ability or with a family this is probably the best ski resort to go to. It's huge and has a gondola that gets you to the next ski resort over. With it's huge size and variety of terrain it'll satisfy anyone. There is the Prince hotel which is literally at the bottom of the slopes so you have a close place to stay and the prices are a fraction of that in the USA. Single day lift ticket are under 7000 yen or less than $50 for a full Day ticket. Check around as you can get discounts or they have a 5-hour ski pass for 5000 yen. Naeba it's also great to spend several days at as it's so big you cannot ski the entire resort within a single day. It'll take several.
It's a very beginner friendly ski resort, lots of green line with different difficulty, and easy to difficult blue line to practice advance. Dragondola has a pretty view and different style course in Toshiro ski resort. You can get different level of restaurant cross all building. It's also easy to get from public transportation. Recommend for all the beginners especially for the first time skier/snowboarder. For middle/advance player you can choose others like Kagura ski resort.
The ski resort was a great choice for beginners. It offered plenty of space for me to practice, and there were also areas where I could have fun with my younger brother, who couldn’t ski.The food was also fantastic, with a variety of options that made it easy to refuel during the day. Overall, it was a wonderful trip, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone just starting out or looking for a family-friendly spot.
One of my favorite ski resorts in Japan! About 2 - 3 hours away from Tokyo. Tons of food options between the resort and hotel. Plenty of space for children of all ages. Slopes are more for beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders with a couple options for experts. Lots of activities and places to visit outside of the resort as well. Let Naeba be your first experience!!
The place was a bit dated but the facilities were good. Slopes available for beginners to experts. Good mountain view at the top. Not much english instructors or signs but everyone is friendly. Food court has plenty of good options
I like this place for the reason that it has all the planes and altitudes we need for fun with snow. From beginners to advance players can have fun at this resort be it ski or snowboarding. Even we have plenty places to have fun for childrens. There are good enough food restaurants available there to quench your hunger. Rental gears are easily available at the spot or from nearby places around there. Also, this place is accessible by bus 🚌 easily from Yuzawa station which is about 1 hour bus ride.
Prince Hotel near the Naeba ski resort offers customers retro furnishings and all the necessary 70s amenities, classic dish choices from the era and staff service that encourages you to be independent and self-reliant. If one wishes to relive or experience the unique charm of the 1970s, Prince Hotel provide their customers with a nostalgic journey at a reasonable price (about $800USD for seven days stay)

The best quality of snow in Yuzawa area. Massive place with great courses. It’s so beautiful as if you are in a Chinese painting. The only draw back is the ropeway queuing.
if you are here in a sunny day, you will see a great lake view up from the mountain top. and you enjoy this view intermittently down the course. the snow here is the best i have very seen in Japan. but this is not for beginners. this snowresort is wild, which i mean, you don't always find there is a course. the whole mountain is your course. so sometimes you might get lost and can find your way. but if you are not a rookie, this will be your paradize. the only thing is that you dont find many restaurants and bars in this area. you also dont find many people here. vast place with few people. this is for hardcore players.
Beautiful mountain with a view of a beautiful lake next to the slope. Doesn’t have very good snow till end of Dec but I would very recommend this slope for anytime after Jan. not too far from Tokyo so that’s a plus as well.
Best ski resort for beginners. 2 fast lifts and a super slow one But not crowded at all. There is access to Naeba area as well. Not many food options for vegetarian/vegan in the ski area.
Tashiro is one of three areas at Kagura. Mostly wide open easy slopes. It takes a little time getting across to the Kagura and Mitsumata areas because you keep going more across the mountain rather than up (you'd need to be at least taking 5 lifts). Due to its higher altitude, Kagura has one of the longest season in Japan (Nov-May) and there was still plenty of snow late (photos taken 30 Mar) and not too slushy, whereas at Naeba next door there wasn't much white stuff left. There are two restaurants both not huge (they're packed during lunch hours), with other options over at Kagura or Mitsumata area. Strangely the restaurants offer no view of the lake despite both of them being right next to it! Instead go up lift Y for a spectacular view of the lake.
Very large ski area that very high altitude offering superb snow conditions. Snow Scoots and Snow Moto’s welcome here on 100% of the lifts and slopes!
It's beautiful but if the small lift was too fast and I fell out on the lift. THANK that I wear a helmet and protection body but still hurt I got hit by a fast lift 3 times and my butt bruised so bad. Not going to that area again :(
Nice ski area well set up for beginners. Good quality snow. Ropeway is fast and efficient, around 7km. English signs are pretty rare but it didn't detect much from the resort. Connected to Naeba by a gondola or you can take a shuttle bus. Good place for families who are serious about their skiing.

Ski trails are wide and straight, suitable for skills practice. It has 20 trails of different difficulties where everyone from beginners to advanced players can enjoy. Night ski is available till 7pm. Free shuttle bus from and to Echigo Yuzawa Station.
theres not that many runs so it gets boring after skiing here for one day. the runs are all relatively easy and there is only one black run so if you’re more advanced it would be quite boring. the freshly groomed snow is a bit hard and icy but the ungroomed snow is very soft.
I loved the service and location. Very much accessible and easy to get around. Nearby location to have fun ski or snowboarding. Rental service was good. I loved the rental gears too. Very neat and fitting. All very good condition gears. Recommended if you are planning to have fun there.
Unfortunately the snow condition was bad when I went. When I went to the top the vision was unclear making it dangerous Especially the green course on the top, it was so narrow that I had 2 big crash with other people. While I recommend beginners to play at the bottom green zone, I wouldn’t recommend going to the top for beginners
Iwappara Ski Resort is a very beginner-friendly ski resort! The view is incredible.
If you are a beginner, this is a place for you. The terrain is flat and broad. Booked a 2 hour lesson from klook (SGD 190++ for 4 person). Can't believe we know how to ski after the 2 hour lesson!
One of the best skiing areas I have been in Japan. There are a variety of different ski lifts to go for different levels of difficulty. The highest peak closes at around 4:30pm which is a safe thing as during winter it gets dark rather early. However, if you still want to ski during the night there is also a night time area where you could ski well into The night. If you choose to go there be sure to bring plenty of warm clothes and gloves and they tend to freeze, yes, freeze as the snow melts on your gloves and freezes again. You can choose to live in one of the few hotels that are on The mountainside (1/4 up The mountain I think) where they provide Japanese style living quarters with public bathrooms and onsen (little small) as well as catering (small portions for those who are used to western portions). On a good day with clear weather the view is simply stunning. And is worth every penny and minute getting there.
It has a wide slope and good for beginners but the ski and snowboard rental here is not good. It only 2.5 hrs away from Tokyo by car. Good for 1 day trip

Such an incredible hike. Was a beautiful hike in early October. This is not an easy hike, so be prepared for hard work.
rain rain and rain but we got it, it was hard and slippery the whole way but worth it. I can only recommend it.. we had only 10 minutes of open sky 😍 so beautiful!
Hiked Mt. Tanigawa (1977m) and was rewarded with stunning alpine scenery. The trail was rich with summer flowers, busy bees, and colorful butterflies. Though the weather was partly cloudy, the views of the surrounding green mountains were breathtaking. The ropeway ride offered a relaxing start, and the fresh mountain air made the climb refreshing. A beautiful destination for both nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts.
Nature beauty at its finest. Took the doai route to the summit for 3hrs 9-25-22
music smk refuse to comply order and refuse pay pack in timid maner so mixie forever in force no more loan to music forever ocid
I climbed through Nishiguro ridge. the wind was strong and I can't see the trail path because of the clouds. I almost died. never forget that experience
So could cloudy 😌 i did not see the great view but I happy to come here so good
Highly recommend for visit 😮😮😮

(Visited February 14 2025) - where do I begin? I was honestly not expecting to like the place that much. For starters, as someone who has never seen snow or even gone to a ski resort, I did a lot of research before deciding on Yuzawa Kogen vs Gala Yuzawa and I’m glad I did! The place can be chaotic. We arrived at the ski resort around 10:45am and it took us an hour to finally rent our equipment get dressed and enter. A few things 1) the rental area is on the 1st floor, you fill out a form and decide what you need ( we were hella unprepared so had to get most of the stuff - 6 adults, 1 toddler) 2) they don’t rent out beanies or snow gloves so make sure you bring them along! They have them up at the mountains after the ropeway lift but it’s pricey and for adult size. Think you can buy them outside the resort as there are numerous areas that sell or rent ski equipment 3) the rental gear are so clean. All the outfits are fitted with a plastic over it for hygienic purposes 4) the ropeway run a certain time .. there are special places to put your ski equipment 5) the top of the mountain is spectacular. There is a small cafe (coffee , hot chocolate and basic snack) that also sells gloves etc and there’s an Italian restaurant but it was super packed when we enquired. There is another restaurant further up the mountain but we didn’t go that far up. 6) not sure if it was a lucky day but there was barely anyone at the top. There were ppl each time the ropeway arrived but they would ski down. Nevertheless the place is so gorgeous and it snowed a bit while we were on top!
Our trip to Yuzawa Kogen in December 2024 was an unforgettable experience! We stayed at Naspa Ski Resort and enjoyed a short stroll from the train station to the Yuzawa Kogen ropeway. The breathtaking views of Yuzawa town nestled beneath the majestic mountains were a stunning welcome. The picturesque scenery was truly captivating, leaving a lasting impression on our minds. Yuzawa Kogen's natural beauty and effortless accessibility make it a must-visit destination for any ski enthusiast or nature lover.
Kogen Yuzawa Resort is conveniently located near Echigo-Yuzawa Station, making it very accessible. As someone from a tropical country, this was my first time experiencing snow—and it was truly delightful! The resort offers snow gear rentals, a café, and even a mini market for convenience. For foreign visitors, I highly recommend getting the JR Tokyo Wide Pass, as it's very useful for reaching this resort and exploring other nearby destinations.
Pleasant ski station for family, for snow board beginners who get lessons (4000¥) from 13h30 to 15h30 and then try the 2.2km long panoramic course (green level). For advanced skills, only a few black and red levels (it is better purchase a connection/link to Yuzawa Gala for an additional +2800¥). There are 3 or 4 restaurant closed to the entrance, and 1 restaurant on top of the ropeway (650¥ ~ 1400¥) with a panoramic view ! Dogs were not allowed in winter season, but maybe in summer season.
Beautiful Snow sightseeing destination near Tokyo. We visited on 5 January, 2023. We did not ski. We bought the ticket for Ropeway and Snow Park (¥3200per). There are also other ticket options. I have attached a photo of ticket price. Under the Ropeway and Snow Park ticket, we could spend time on the park playing with snow. The park is just beside the ground ski learning area. There are play equipment freely available at park- slide and sledge car for racing. Though the park seem childish, we had lots of fun. The ropeway takes one station up to the observatory. Amazing view from there! But it was colder than the ground area and no activity to do. Overall, if you want to enjoy snowfall and good winter getaway even without skiing, this place is highly recommended.
Visited in August 23 - after 3 weeks mainly in Tokyo it was great to be out in the fresh air. I arrived early on a Sunday on the train to get the first cable car up! Great views. Lovely Gardens at the top. Walked up to the waterfall nearby too. A very welcome break from the hustle of the city.
This is the first time I tried skiing, and Yuzawa Kogen resort will have a place in my heart. The resort has lift and a nice slope which I think fits very greatly on beginners like me. There is also a rope way that takes you up in the mountain for an amazing view, in which you can also bring your ski. There are also nearby shops and restaurant to eat once your taking a break.
Love this place. Experience snow for the 1st time. Station is not that big but sufficient for getting ready to go to the snow top. View is awesome via ropeway trip. Not crowded but probably due to weekday. Will definitely recommended for family!

This is a great place to go for skiing and play with snow. There is kids section as well to make your little ones have fun(sledge is available on rent). We took skiing classes as well (paid of course). You can get the complete ski kit on a rental for 11000 yen approx and training per person was 8000 yen. The scenery is beautiful and food is good.
Easy access from the station and town centre.. and the ski slopes are literally just next to the hotel. Everything is here. Slightly expensive but worth it. Great food in the restaurant and fantastic service.
The coach was helping me to get up to the hill and the coach is very nice, this is my first time skiing in Japan, the coach was skilled, it is fun interesting and cool. it’s hard to walk with the boots, the coach called me big dock but it was fun. free sandals, warm with thick jacket.the googles was not expensive it is cheap. I fall many times by the way my coach name was Sebastian ,my name is kaaro 8 years old from Indonesia.I will come back for sure, don't be afraid skiing in the first time it is fun I try try and try and it worked well guys, it was scary when I tried it literally worked well. i play snow but it is cold, so I got back to the shop.
Small resort with 5 lifts only. An ideal place to practice. Most players are very skilled. Restaurants in ski resort offer expensive meal. (More expensive than other ski resort)
This is a skier resort only, good for beginners to advance player. Food is really expensive tho, highly recommend to come here , they do have a free shuttle bus run between NASPA to gala yuzawa
Superb window in family room type. The room is big and full facility. Ski areas is at the hotel. Recommend 2 nights more!
Beautiful place. You can rent ski, equipment and ski jacket. Just come and have fun. Good for family.
My family have been to NASPA twice this year and each time we have really enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and the ski area is perfect for children. Rentals are quick and easy. Definitely would recommend this place dor a weekend getaway.

My favorite ski resort so far in Kanto, 4-5 hours away from Tokyo. It's perfect for beginners. Has several resting spaces and more than 2 ski/snowboard schools.
Very busy but well organized. Food is a bit pricy but not too bad compared to other facilities. Good quality lifts. It was a fun day
Good ski resort for the long covered snow escalator. However getting to and from the slopes is difficult due to oversubscribed buses from Echigo Yuzawa station. We had to wait for an hour each way. Only recommended for absolute first timers requiring the snow escalator.
Had wonderful experience at Yuzawa Nakazato snow. It was our first time experiencing snow and ski, so my children were excited too. We took ski class for 2 hours, most important is the place not too crowded so we can practice skiing well. The price was reasonable too, value for money.
I’ve done snowboarding in some few places in Japan since I’ve started it here but this is one of the nice place and mostly for beginners to intermediate friendly. We went with our lab members and most of them were beginner. But everyone learned how to ski or snowboarding. I’ll recommend you if you’re a beginner or wanna learn. It was actually hot 🥵 though it was snow.
It is great venue to learn or mastered your snowboarding or skiing skills. 1. Have convinience store 2. Have food court 3. Have public toilet 4. Parking lot are big 5. There is rental board 6. Area smoking available 7. Best view both at the bottom or the top 8. Have parking for disability people 9. Accesible by private car or public transportation like Train 10. have many track that suit well from beginner to expert snowboarder.
Not so crowded so very relaxed when skiing. Suitable for both amateur and professional skiers.
The slopes offer variety from beginner to expert level, although it can be a bit crowded on the weekends and holidays. Overall, a good place to visit with your mates.

Lost one side of my gloves at the ground base and the staff was kind enough to send it to my place in Tokyo in just 2 days. The communication was very smooth. Really appreciate their help. The resort overall level best suits non first time beginner to lower intermediate riders. The main gelande is packed but you can always find secluded areas. The courses are quite short but the park and beginner zones are great. Beautiful scenery and quality snow. Rental snowboards come with Burton's StepOn by default. You can also ask for strap ones. For a day trip, JR Ski Ski deals are the best ones to my knowledge.
4 March 2022 Crowded on a weekday not much area for beginners just ppl everywhere. Shuttle bus to station was fully packed With so many other choices in Niigata, Gunma, ibaraki and nagano I have no reason to come here again
I only came to Kandatsu because Gala was closed, and I was not disappointed. I loved the slopes, which I feel had something for every level. I lost my insta 360 going down a black slope but I managed to find it buried in the snow the 2nd time I descended from the top haha. Unforgettable experience. The resort and rental is very well organised, and the food at the middle of the mountain is nice too. Highly recommended.
Amazing resort. Onsen avaliable 1300 for adult. Ladies night 3900yen includes onsen fee. Night ski weekend until 2am.
Nice resort next to Echigo Yuzawa. It is a good place for intermediate and beginner skiers. Very popular for snowboarders. It can be crowded during the weekend. The mid level chalet has a few good restaurants. The base chalet caters everything you need to ski. Access from Tokyo is easy with Joetsu Shinkansen. 70 minutes from Tokyo station.
Large and well maintained facility. Has an onsen on the 4th floor for apres ski relaxation. Has only two paths for beginner or low intermediate. But the few for those ability levels are nice and wide with some variety and interesting areas. It was quite empty on the first open day of the year which was really great. And the snow conditions were quite good. Lots of natural snow in the surrounding hills. Beautiful.
It's a very well maintained ski resort that's open night skiing! There are fewer lifts in operation during night skiing, but the lifts are fast, so you can get on the lifts with relatively little waiting. There are fewer lifts in operation during night skiing, but the lifts are fast, so you don't have to wait long to get on a lift. The restaurant is also open, so you can use it when you get hungry after skiing. The night skiing is open until the end of March. The quality of the snow is really good, so I highly recommend you try it out during the winter season!☃
A quite new Ski Resort with free shuttle bus to Echigo Yuzawa Station which attracts lots of day snow trip from local. It has a big rental center with almost every gears you needed. The day I went has quite a lot of beginners. And also some lifts were suspended due to heavy snow. Drawdown was congestion at the main green slope and the lift queue. Its WiFi speed is super fast!

Such kind staff are working!! I asked some local information and three of them helped me with nice smile. The mochi we bought there was very good. Thank you very much!
This is a nice small place to stop and stretch your legs. Not a lot of variety but the outside has a beautiful pond. There is lots of parking availability. The toilets are very clean and large.
Love the food here! Lovely restaurant! They closed at 17:10. The shop closed at 18:00. Must try Buta Don / Gyu Don! Super good! Highly recommended!
Easy to spend a few hours there. Good shopping variety and affordable and tasty food menu. Great foot bath indoor and outdoor! Pleasant picnic area outside including ine table on a very small man made island. Worth the stop!
Nice little road station to break up a journey. Local information, a small restaurant, and a shop selling local produce. Public onsen right next door.
Convenient food and not expensive
You can enjoy footbath!
(Translated by Google) This is a small roadside station. Once you enter through the entrance, you'll find it's long and narrow, stretching out into the distance. The shop is lined with local products, and there's a cash register at the back. Further back is a restaurant. However, the restaurant has set opening hours, with last orders being at 4:30pm. There's a foot bath inside the roadside station, which you can use for free. You can also submit your mountain climbing registration here. How unique! Thank you, Daisuke! I will always remember your kindness and warmth. I arrived during golden week and all the campgrounds were fully booked. Daigenta was still closed for the season and i was very lucky to meet Daisuke who went out of his way to help me. I slept very well under the starry night and sounds of the stream. Thank you! ❤️
It's a fine campsite. Fees are reasonable. We paid about 4,000 for 4 people, 1 campsite. We brought our own tents. Some of the plots are a bit rocky, though. They also have glamping options available. It's right by a river with an artificial waterfall, which is really nice. You can swim in the water, too.
I so loved this place. Safe place for children to play around. Awesome place to relax. Nature friendly! The restaurant's pizza is best! Dam curry is good too! Just hope they have rice to serve😁
Good location! Just 20 mins from Echigo Yuzawa station!
(Translated by Google) The campsite itself is nice, but there are a lot of rocks on the ground, so it feels vulnerable to rain. Be careful of gnats during hot weather. In recent years, I've been taking a lot of beginner campers, and I don't want them to quit camping because of this. It's a bit of a hassle to have to move the car to the parking lot at the bottom of the slope except when loading and unloading luggage. On the other hand, I wonder if there are any sounds of car doors opening or closing late at night or early in the morning. There are rivers and lakes nearby, and you can spend a quiet time in the forest. There are also children's play equipment. There is also an Italian restaurant at the entrance where you can buy bread. Sites are separated one by one. You can enter your car when loading and unloading your luggage. Check-in is until 17:00, quiet time after 22:00. Check out 10:00. The water supply is relatively close to all sites, and the toilets are new and have Western-style flushing. The water area is also clean. There is a coin shower in the administration building. It costs 200 yen for 6 minutes and can be used 24 hours a day. The road to the administration building is pitch black and a bit long, so it would be helpful to have a headlamp. I think this campsite is suitable for families and beginners. The site is compact, so no site is too far from the restrooms or kitchen. To get to the pet-friendly Taka site, you have to walk a bit up the mountain path. There were hardly any flying insects at this time of year. According to the staff, there are a lot of horseflies in the summer. I did see lizards and deer. The ground was hard and there were lots of rocks. You might need metal pegs to hammer them in. They offer rental slats to protect against the gravel, but a ground mat (Ogawa Campal) was sufficient. The playground has a children's playground and a Tarzan rope. There are also a variety of colorful stones with painted eyes, both large and small. The men's restroom is clearly visible from the playground, so if you don't go to the back, you'll be seen. There are no mirrors in the restroom next to the Community Square. There is a dam (artificial waterfall) at the back of the Singing Square, and it is cooler near it. It is dangerous to play in the water near the dam, so we were advised to play on the riverbank next to the management building, which has a nicer atmosphere. There is a shower in the management building, but the nearest public bath is only a 10-15 minute drive away, and we were able to buy a discount ticket at the camp reception, so we used the public bath this time. There is a quiet time, so we were able to sleep peacefully at night listening to the sound of the river babbling. Worth every penny. I was very surprised with the hospitality here. The staff remember our group just in one occasion. The next time we go to breakfast, lunch, or dinner the seating is already prepared. The buffet was awesome! You get mix of western and japanese food. There is sushi and sashimj as well! It wasn’t my plan to eat that much, but it was so delicious I just couldn’t stop myself. The resort is well maintained although looks old. Once inside, it doesn’t feel old at all. The room is just like usual hotel room, very clean, well maintained. Plus there is onsen. Enough amenities was given, I didn’t have anything insufficient while staying in the room. The resort has friendly staff. And it is very beginner friendly. Would highly recommend for first-timer or kids. I learnt snowboarding here and it was absolutely a good environment. You get help with chair lift too. The staff can give you timing to get on and get off which is valuable for beginners. A few staffs remembered me because I kept falling down while getting off, so they would slow down the lift every time I wanted to get off.
We just came back from our first trip of 2024 and had an amazing time at Yuzawa park hotel. Great value, awesome team, very kids friendly property and the ski in/ski out just made it so hassle free. All rental was in great condition, you only need to pack light, show up and just enjoy all the slopes and beautiful view. Food was great, wide selection of both eastern and western. There are lots of activities for kids to play and if your kids are old enough, they offer ski classes as well. Onsen on second floor is great for apres ski. We can’t wait to go back already. We selected tatami room and has 2 beds too, total can sleep up to 6. Highly recommend
Such a wonderful experience at Yuzawa Park Hotel! A very kids friendly property and Ski in / ski out is very convenient for those of us who come specifically to ski. The service was super good, from catering to ski rental and ski equipment facilities. The view from the room was terrific!! Will definitely come back again!
- Convenient location with pick up and drop off service provided by the hotel shuttles.(Also close to Tokyo) - Great food with different variety of selections. (Western/Eastern/Japanese) - Cozy room with the right temperature and clean toilet. (Slopes view) - Friendly Staff willing to assist with everything. - Both public and residential onsen are incredible. - Many entertaining facilities are provided.( KTV, Arcade, Billiard, Table tennis) - Hotel has its own rental shop with good condition skiing gears. - Ski in/out slopes are right in front of the hotel with stunning views. - kids and beginners friendly. I recently had the most amazing experience at the Yuzawa Park Hotel and I wanted to share it with all of you. The breathtaking views, impeccable slopes, and top-notch customer service made my visit truly unforgettable. Will definitely come back again!!!!
The food is amazing.Service is great. Hotel is awesome! Morning begins with hot spring, follow by buffet breakfast then full day of slopes.
Awesome value for money. Situated right on the slopes this hotel provides everything you need to get on the slopes with zero hassles. One stop shop. In my package breakfast and dinner buffet style is provided and the range of food on offer is awesome. Plenty of western options. Best thing is that midweek there virtually no one here meaning the slopes are empty. Perfect ski conditions. Can't imagine a better place in terms of value. From an Australian perspective this place is 10/10.
Great team of people. The 2nd floor bath is really nice. You can watch your kids have fun on the hill while sipping a drink in the lobby. The place is also the registration counter for the nearby golf course. They have a nice enough gift shop and you can also ship your takkyubin from there.

We usually stay Nakazato hotel and enjoy snowboard with my friends. Here you can find long and wide track with less people. Top 3rd lift is one of the extreme one. Once you try there you don’t afraid anything at all. Definitely recommend
We had to thank to Mr. 高橋 and all the staff there. This was the second year we have been here skiing. The first time was I dropped my stick carelessly and this time it's my son that did the same thing and it was Mr. 高橋 who walked a long way to pick it up. We had to leave the hotel to catch up the shuttle bus so we even didn't say any thanks to all the staff there. Last year my little daughter who could skied a little came with me. Every time when we took the lift, the staff helped us sit safe and sound and support us with hand when we dropped off the lift. The work there is so tough and thank you all for giving us a secure ride. 2018.2.12-2.15
Very interesting ski resort especially for first time skier and snowboarders
(Translated by Google) For beginners who are experiencing skiing for the first time, Nakazato is a very good ski resort. (Translated by Google) I'm an expert skier (I call myself that) so I didn't really enjoy it that much, but it's a ski resort that's perfect for beginner families and people coming from overseas who are making their ski debut. It's attached to a hotel, or maybe it's a ski slope exclusively for hotel guests. I think it's perfect for practicing because it's a wide and gentle slope. Once you get used to skiing, go to the second lift and once you get to the top there is a slope with a slope, so I think it's perfect for practicing up to intermediate level. I visited on a Sunday, so the kids were playing and it felt peaceful! (Translated by Google) If you stay at Hotel Angel Grandia, you'll ski here for a day. There is only one lift in operation at any one time. There is another lift, but it often doesn't reach the top and you are taken off halfway. The two-person clad lift is very slow, and it can be disheartening to have to get back on this lift after going down a short, gentle course. This is for intermediate and above skiers, and I think the width and slope are just right for teaching if you are bringing along children or beginners. The snow is not too hard, so it is always soft and fluffy. I think it is very easy to ski. The only drawback is that the slope around the lift station makes it difficult to get in smoothly. This may be true at all ski resorts...
(Translated by Google) The ski slopes are directly connected to Hotel Angel Grandia Echigo-Nakazato, so it's a great location for those with small children. However, there were many people who found it difficult to get to the lift platform due to the slight slope.
