Great museum for all things local history! Make sure to check out the library and displays there
This is a great place to visit on a hot summer day or rainy day. They have a lot of history about Big Rock and surrounding areas
It was closed sadly
Lovely updates made to this building. More to come... I went there for a ladies fundraiser.
The History Museum of Carteret County showcases the history of Carteret County. There is a large free parking lot when you arrive. A small fee is charged for admission. I think it was $2 or $3. You can learn about the county from the beginning, Confederate spy Emeline Pigott; Pirates; Off Shore Fishing; The Warriors Gallery honors those from World War II to the present wars, are some of what you will see. You can read the history, watch videos, and see the artifacts. A large genealogist library is in the back of the museum, where you can get assistance with your research on your family tree. Make sure to check out the gift shop before you leave.

Great stadium! Lots of fun!!!
Great small stadium. Fun evening out with the kids. Marlins (Fish Tacos) are in the coastal plain league which is a college summer league. Concessions are reasonable and there's also a Kona ice truck and a kettle corn truck. Seats are just aluminum bleachers so bring a seat pad.
This is a great place to take in a ballgame! Our family attended a Marlins game here during our vacation to the beach. Tickets were very affordable and they even have an AYCE option (which we did not do). Sightlines and seating are good. Plenty of safety netting but no roof, so we were in the sun until it dropped behind the trees. The biggest disappointment was the concessions. They were sold out of mostly everything by the third inning. What we were able to purchase was average at best. The baseball was good, not great, but the players were clearly having fun, and some poor pitching from both teams led to lots of runs, which made things exciting.
Great evening watching college ball players doing what they love. Marlins are a great team deserving of community support. Nothing says summertime more than hot dogs, beer and baseball.
Fun place to watch a game. Be warned that others are correct, the seats are annoyingly uncomfortable. The food is average small ballpark food, so dont expect gourmet. Check the start time as it said 630, but we got there at 615 and it was midway through the 1st inning. Also, getting there early will get you parking closer than across the soccer field.
Great place to spend time with family. Good location, lots of parking. Who doesn't love baseball? Great team. Dave is an awesome manager! This organization is doing great things! Good price, can't beat that all you can eat ticket! Definitely recommend
The venure is clean, professional, and FUN! The Marlin organization has done a fabulous job. It is a GREAT PLACE to bring the family for a Baseball Game!
Very nice stadium lots of handicap seating and ramps. Visitors were nasty using the bathroom facilities. I’m sure the staff did their best to stay ahead of problems but it was a 4 day tournament. Excellent concession stand good location and parking.

A gem of a shop! Lots of nautical themed decor, a diverse array of local pottery, a fair amount of Asian items, and everything in between. The staff (owner/operator?) We're pleasant and helpful. Prices are realistic on most items. We'll definitely visit again.
You'll definitely find something here if you keep looking. I bought my 1st find in 10 years here (a 45 record album complete with record) and my spouse found a cool blue pitcher/vase. Neither of us are big antique store shoppers.
Good easy layout to shop. Well lit, calm and peaceful. Owner very helpful.
I was working out of town in the Morehead city area. Part of my job is working on a boat. So I had a big truck and 25 ft boat. I was just trying to find a place to park my rig for lunch when I can across this big empty parking lot. A woman who worked here was extremely mean and rude to me when she said I couldn’t park there. I was apologetic and totally cool with not being able to park there. I get it. But she went on to berate me for having the “audacity” to even think about parking there. She could have been more cordial about it. Sorry lady. Duly noted!
We love to browse Seaport. Have bought many beautiful items, large and small there through the years. Our most recent was an 18th c chest on chest with satinwood. What a find!
This used to my favorite antique store in the area. I will never be going back. My mother almost slipped and fell when walking in. It was raining outside and the floor was slippery (the mat was away from the doors, we moved it closer back to the door where it should have been). The two women at the counter began to loudly express to each other how people are supposed to watch their there step when walking in and that there was a sign on the door. Sorry we made a mistake and slipped on a wet floor. We’re just human. But the rudeness and pure disrespect was uncalled for.
Had an amazing shopping experience at this lovely store. The owner was so charming and helpful. Best selection in the area with quality, true antiques at fair prices especially for the location.
Absolutely love this place. We stop every time we are in town. Fair prices very friendly staff and the stock rotates fairly well for an antique store. We will always drop in here whenever we are around never know what you will find!!

My kids took me for Mother's Day and we ALL enjoyed the show, atmosphere and definitely impressed by the actors & acting quality. Can't wait for your next presentation!
What a great place for kids and adults. This is a great group and the team work is amazing. The shows they put on are top notch. They have shows for all ages. If you like to support kids of all ages go check out a show. You will not be disappointed.
The show itself was absolutely phenomenal — the actors were top tier and truly delivered an unforgettable performance. My only disappointment was with the logistics and administration outside of the show. The event was held in a hard-to-find location, the social media marketing didn’t distinguish this from other events clearly, and even GPS was confusing. We weren’t the only ones lost — we saw other guests wandering the lot as well. To make matters worse, my tickets wouldn’t scan and the staff member couldn’t locate the order manually, which delayed us further. We were ultimately allowed inside, but ended up seated in completely separate areas. After that stress, we splurged on the signature $10 show drink — and it was basically water. I also paid for three audience participation bags, but despite repeatedly clarifying, we only received two. The attendant kept insisting my ticket was for the wrong date and seemed more focused on that than correcting the mistake. Thankfully, the performers redeemed the entire night. Their talent and energy saved what began as a frustrating logistical nightmare. I just hope the administrative side improves — because the actors deserve better support than what the front-end experience provided.
For a small local theater they demonstrated some extraordinary talented people. Really have enjoy all the plays I have seen. Just saw Grease and they did a fantastic job. Can't wait to see more and maybe even audition
This was a fantastic production! The voices were superlative, acting was delightful and costumes gorgeous! It was a first night, but you sure couldn't tell. The orchestra and dancers were spot on in each number. I was amazed that such a small community could do such a splendid rendition of "Hello, Dolly!" We cannot wait until their next offering!
Went to the Theater last night to see Rumours, Fleetwood Mac Tribute. The band was awesome, however the audience was prevented to showing them just how awesome they were. The Theater will not allow you to stand at all. They have security guards watching. It just was not a fun Venue for such a great band. I definitely see them again when they play at the House of Blues. I have been to several plays which feature local actors. All of those plays were phenomenal and there is great talent in this county. This is a perfect Venue for those performances.
The show last night was great. The actors were good I really enjoyed the night. Except!!! When we walked into the theater after buying our general admission tickets and found they had most of the seats were reserved seats. Whoever reserved those seats for carteret community theater needs to learn what general admission tickets mean no seats can be reserved.
I just drove up from Wilmington and watched a very talented Fleetwood mac tribute band called Rumors. I was really impressed with the band and theater staff, even the big security guy who was forced to make EVERYONE!! sit down or leave. Which brings me to my point, this would have received a 5 star rating if they would allow a certain section of the theater to stand up and dance. Probably shouldn't let the few make up rules for the many.

Marina

It's a Marina. The staff is excellent and very helpful! The showers and restrooms are well maintained and clean. They have 2 washers and 2 dryers. They have diesel and gasoline at the fuel dock and charge $10 for a pumpout. The docks are floating docks and clean. It's a nice place to stop/dock. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance.
Stopped here for the night in late October 2018. They have great facilities - nice floating docks with good power, nice lounge, 4 laundry machines, showers, pump out that works, and Valvtec fuel. They have a rental van for quick trips but it was out of service when we visited. Also the marina has plenty of depth 15' so easy coming and going. Morehead City is still a little beat up after Florence but with about 1/2 th stores closed and 1/4 of restaurants but they are all reopening in t not to distant future. We saw lots of construction and repairs taking place. There are a handful of restaurants open and with in easy walking distance of the marina. There is also a convenience store right next to the marina for the basics. Give a thumbs 👍 up if my review or photos are helpful.
Great marina, nice people, easy in and out, reasonable, has a courtesy car, and two great restaurants within walking distance. Recommended
Docking for big boats at the Big Rock tournament! Catch 23 is in the foreground of each pic.
2023SEPT. Beautiful view from Floyd’s 1921 Restaurant, Bar, & Catering. Gorgeous entry from the Atlantic and the slips are well maintained.
Staff and dock crews are always friendly and knowledgeable of services needed. Dock Crews routinely walk the docks checking for issues that may need to be attended to. Location to Downtown Morehead is the best.
Highly Recommended Great facilities and amenities, but the best are the dockmasters who go out of their way to help out. If you are new to the area it is worth phoning and getting the benefit of local knowledge. I came in dense fog and the communication from the dockmaster was outstanding.
We have been to Morehead City before and tied up at the city docks on the ocean side. After staying at the yacht basin, we will for sure be skipping the city docks and coming here instead! Lots of space on the dock, reliable power, friendly and knowledgeable staff, big clean restrooms, two sets of washers and dryers and walking distance to downtown. We were also able to utilize the complementary van to run and get groceries for the next leg of our trip, so we didn't have to ride our bikes in a thunderstorm. Highly recommend staying at this marina!

From custom newborn sketches to beautiful prints, I’ve ordered several. Michelle does an amazing job; pouring her heart into every piece! Her talent is amazing! Strongly recommend her for any print she may have available as you won’t be disappointed with the quality! I strongly recommend custom pieces because she will knock it out of the park every single time! Thanks for sharing your amazing talent with the rest of the world! We are truly blessed because of it!
Michelle is a phenomenal painter 👩🏻‍🎨 she is a precious soul and God flows through all her paintings. She will bless you just to receive one of her paintings. Her art is well packaged and she ships very quickly. Highly recommend buying from her everyone needs a piece of the very talented Michelle Fairchild art in your home 🏡
Michelle was my art teacher in high school. She created my love for art. I have purchased several pieces of her work and absolutely love it. She’s amazing. She doesn’t just use the brush to paint. She uses her feeling and most of all her heart. This makes her work some of the best. She truly is an amazing artist.
I own many of Michelle's pieces. Her sense of wonder, color, and subjects speak to me in a way no other artist does, and reflect her immense talent. Everything I've purchased from her has been of the highest quality and has been packaged carefully and shipped quickly. Wish I could buy even more, but then I'd risk having a whole Michelle wall in my home!
What a marvelous gallery featuring the amazing art of Michelle Johnson Fairchild! There's so much to explore in this place. They have something for every price range with loads of prints and smaller items as well as large original paintings that can hang over a bed or sofa to make a statement or would look awesome in a place of business. (My vet has the one of the group of dogs in her lobby.) You'll find art for virtually any area of interest here as well: beach scenes, ocean life, TV and film heroes, rock and country stars (check out Dolly Parton!), horror characters (classic and modern), fairies, mermaids, and angels, Christmas, animals (horses, lions, manatees, marlins, and much more), and a whole lot of other subjects! Chances are they've got something for everyone on your gift list. I own a few of Michelle Johnson Fairchild's originals and lots of her high quality prints and have given many of the latter as gifts. People go crazy over them. Gypsybee Studios is a magical, colorful place with something for everyone. If you're looking for art to brighten your life, you're sure to find it here.
I currently have SIX Michelle Johnson Fairchild paintings throughout my home. Every piece is beautiful and unique! I love going to the studio and visiting with her and her wonderful husband Jeff. Every time we travel to Beaufort, I have to stop in and say hello! I can’t wait to visit again this summer and bring home my next piece. I already have a place picked out for it!!
Michelle is an amazing artist! She is so pleasant to work with and produces one of a kind pieces of art that are stunning, vibrant and realistic to say the least!!! You would be so lucky to meet her and own a magnificent piece of Michelle's timeless art masterpieces!!! Thank you, Michelle!
Gypsybee Studios artist, Michelle, is a phenomenal talent. I have purchased several pieces from them. The payment process is easy and you get paintings very quickly. I would highly recommend checking her studio out. You won't be disappointed.

Just wow! Amazing selection and the sweetest staff. A must stop you won't leave empty handed. I'm for sure going to be a regular customer for any and all of my home good needs.
This is a FABULOUS place to browse and they have such wonderful items!! New and used but great quality of all items! Prices are excellent and the staff there are so very nice!!!
So many fun things! Stopped in to get a break from driving in the rain on a recent road trip & loved looking at the variety of home decor, local artisans, antiques, vintage toys/collectables, jewelry…literally something for everyone. The store is rather large, well organized & clean. The staff was friendly & offered assistance more than one, and there is ample parking. Will definitely return when in the area (& with a truck!).
We love just taking our time and walking through this place when we are in Morehead City, NC. It is so fun to find that item that speaks to you. It always happens unexpectedly. We found a cool sign by Zeeke here, that fit our cottage perfectly. They also have a gentleman that makes very unique cutting boards and sells there, which we love. You never know what you might find here.
Well cultivated and organized space, easy to see everything. Staff is as nice and kind as anyone could ever hope for, and dogs are welcomed even if they have moments of disquiet ☺️.
If you get the rite clients it's a nice place with decent variety. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is just because of my personal preference of antiquing. So if your in the area stop in and give them a chance.
My favorite consignment shop in Morehead City!! Every time I go down, I always find something unique in this place. Love it and love the help!
Nice place to find used furniture and different items. If you thrift give them a try.
