Beautiful church! I didn't know it was there until I seen it. I love old churches and this one is definitely worth seeing if you love them too. It has beautiful stained glass windows inside too. There is a small gift shop inside if you want to buy a couple of trinkets and help donate to it.
Nice well kept church with lots of history. The man at the gift shop Was very knowledgeable. Quite a lot to see in the basement as well.
The care taker ( I think Michael) was so patient even though he was locking up for the night. My son and I enjoyed the special time in this beautiful church. We were able to buy couple candles and some special momentos for my family and friends. We also got some memorable pictures taken. Highly recommend seeing this church... Very special and historical
Very beautiful and historic Catholic Church in Virginia City. They have a museum and gift shop for more information.
Rating this purely as a tourist attraction. I have never been to one of their services. This beautiful old Catholic church is full of history and is open to the public for you to go around and observe. There is a small gift shop just inside and to the right. There is also a museum on the lower floor, which is free. However, be aware that the museum has much more to do with Catholicism, and even some seemingly random other things, than it does with the history of Virginia City, specifically.
Beautiful Church. KNOWN AS THE "BONANZA CHURCH" BECAUSE OF THE RICH SILVER MINES OF THE LAST CENTURY, THIS MOTHER CHURCH OF THE COMSTOCK LODE TRACES ITS HISTORY TO 1858 WHEN REV. JOSEPH GALLAGHER (1821-87) OFFERED THE FIRST MASS IN NEVADA. HIS BROTHER, REV. HUGH P. GALLAGHER (1815-82), OPENED THE FIRST CATHOLIC CHURCH IN VIRGINIA CITY IN 1860. DESTROYED BY THE WINDS OF THE FOLLOWING WINTER, THIS CHURCH WAS REPLACED IN 1864 WHEN REV. PATRICK MANOGUE (1831-95) ERECTED A NEW CHURCH A BLOCK AWAY FROM HERE. THE PRESENT CHURCH, ORIGINALLY BUILT IN 1868, WAS SERIOUSLY DAMAGED IN THE GREAT FIRE OF 1875 BUT REBUILT IN 1876. TODAY ST. MARY'S STANDS HERE AS A TREASURE OF THE OLD WEST AND IS NOW RECOGNIZED AS A NATIONAL CATHOLIC HISTORICAL SITE.
It was a beautiful place to visit and see the museum with the saints and robes the priests wore and golden cups they drank from. Definitely a must see if you visit Virginia City.
Beautiful Church beautifully located you can not asked for more seeing all the views behind. Also, all the interior all the woodwork such as benches rails, divisions pillars and sealing are absolutely beautiful plus all the stain glass windos amazing. Also, a person at the church store is a very nice, pleasant man can share some information about the town.

So Virginia City has become a bit of a tourist trap with loads of over the top schlock and overpriced everything. If you like that kind of thing - fantastic! I don't so much. However, if you find yourself there, Washoe Club is the bright spot. Tours are reasonably priced, the folks who run this historical business are incredibly lovely and the tour guide is phenomenal. These folks worked with me ahead of time to move my tour date tickets three times for various reasons and when I walked in, greeted me by name! That's impressive. The tour guide was not only personable but had a deep knowledge of local history and how the club impacted national events. If you're in it only for the paranormal, he's got you covered there too! Truly enjoyed the time at the OWC!
Drinks in the bar are phenomenal & strong $1 drink discount with museum tour, it’s haunted. Went inside and old morgue, creepy and weirdly chilly. The tour is $10 and well worth it!! Staff is amazing and friendly!!
Fun tour of the haunted house. We met out front and went through 3 stories of spookyness. Great bar on the first floor. Neat museum too. Mortisha was there when I went which made it better. Spooky
I’ve been on several really good ghost tours in San Francisco, so I kinda knew what to expect during a tour. However, I was amazed by the history of the Washoe Club and of the paranormal activity described by our tour guide as we walked through the rooms. I must say that the spookiest area to me was the “Crypt.” The oddity was the spiral staircase that wound its way to the top floor. Back in the day, only the wealthy had access to the top via this staircase. Apparently there are several ghosts that frequent this area, although I didn’t see any. There were a lot of things covered in 45 minutes but I felt good about the tour and would recommend it. I’m now ready for the overnight lock-in.🫣
First time visiting the Washoe Club. This place is amazing! My family and I are paranormal investigators and have been wanting to visit for quite some time. We went on the tour and got to go up into the millionaire's Club. Our tour guide was so friendly and had so much knowledge the history of this building. I was even lucky enough to capture multiple orbs in my pictures. My husband and I plan on going back in October for our anniversary and my birthday and doing the overnight tour, I can't wait! 🖤
Great place to visit. the whole town is full of history and such beautiful people. so kind and fun. if you don’t love virginia city and the washoe club you have issues
Great place to wet your whistle and do a ghost tour while in Virginia city. We've been here several times and love the charm of this bar and the city. On the ghost tour they take to upstairs to check out the mostly empty and storage areas with past ghost encounters. The tour guide was really good and have is plenty of stories as well as his personal experiences. It was a lot of fun!
We had a great time. Rented an EMF meter and ours was very active. I've been through the tour several times before. However, this is the first time ive experienced activity. I was taped on my shoulder and my friend had her hair brushed from her face. We will be back.

What a fun city to visit! Full of history and cool buildings to show the era. Lots of open shops and stuff to do and look at.
Nice place. Several things to see. Clean restrooms.
Historic mining town. Must visit if you are visiting Reno Sparks area. Not too far from Lake Tahoe either.
We love traveling to VC and a few times a year, it’s like walking back into the early 1900’s, we enjoy shopping and checking out the ghost tours at The Washoe Club and Mackay Mansion. I highly recommend coming to this adorable old town!
Virginia city is just a little ways out of Reno ,Nevada. Lots of gift shops and some great history of the mining town it was. Lots of old buildings to look at also.
The Virginia City Visitor Center is a great place to star a visit of the Old Western cute gold mining town Virginia with many of its original buildings still standing today. You can easily spend a full day visiting the many bars, restaurants, candy and souvenir stores along the Main Street and many original homes from the time. There are many details to pay attention to while strolling the old western style wooden sidewalks. People are generally friendly, but the city can be crowded on weekends and holidays. By all means worth a visit while in Nevada.
Cool little miner ghost town. A bit on the creepy side. But either than that it is well worth the find. Very tiny very little to see unless you are into paranormal then ive heard they have a tour of one of their hotels established 1859.
This is a great place for the whole family. Lots to do. One of the most historical places in America. Love it here!!!

What a fun museum. So much to learn about mining and how things were done in the past. Small but very informative museum
Informative and quaint museum of the Comstock Gold rush mining in Virginia City. They have numerous original pieces, tons of literature, and descriptive signage (not just a non-descript, moronic blurb found in many newer museums). Staff was also very friendly.
Absolutely loved the museum! I adore anything old and it was full of authentic old relics and knick knacks and more! My kids even loved it! Also the gift shop area had great things and they were all actually affordable! I spent $50 in the gift shop and $12 to get in and it was well worth! The staff was also very friendly!
This tiny historic town is so very interesting. I enjoyed visiting the Way It Was Museum where I learned more about the mining history and was able to see so much original equipment and relics and fun facts about the time period. I very much suggest taking a walk around
They have a LOT of Everyday items from the city of Virginia from the eart seems Like they just went through these houses 150 years ago and picked up all the items and turned in the museum. The biggest gold Load was found here and all of the Mining equipment was developed here, Because this is the first place where the mines went down 2000 feet underground. Obviously the working conditions 2000 feet in the ground were crazy and they have a photos and videos about all that, which is really interesting. The admission is $5 so definitely Check out the inside of the museum
What an absolutely amazing place. Great to take photos. Great fun for the whole family, perfect little gift shop.
This is the best place IMO in Nevada that you must visit when in Reno. Virginia city Town is still so kept up and still runs like it did in the historical cowboy days 🤠it's so fun and everyone so friendly ! So many historical sights to visit ! P. S you might run in to a few friendly ghost if you pay close attention 😉either way you will enjoy this place if you love seeing history face to face as it was
A small museum packed with awesome artifacts from Virginia City's history. Fascinating relics from the late 1880s with good descriptions that piece together a journey through time. Worth the stop!

This is a must see while visiting Virginia City! So much rich history just in this one building. There was so much to read and see. My family and I love history so we had to visit. Plus this school is beautiful! I'm so glad places like this still exist! Would love to do a paranormal investigation here! 🖤👻
This is an absolute must see for anybody visiting Virginia City. The architecture is simply incredible and the man working at the information counter is a wealth of information. Going inside the classrooms is like a time capsule back to the 1800s.
The best place in VC for a great history lesson. Covers everything from the school itself, Mark Twain & printing, mining & minerals, Comstock history, 110 years of local school alumni, and a changing exhibit that always features something very interesting. If there's only time to visit 1 place in V C for your history lesson from knowledgeable & friendly folks this is it! Not to mention the museum is housed inside an authentic historic school from 1876. The beauty of the building itself is enough reason to stop for a visit.
The Fourth Ward School probably does a better job than most tourist attractions in the area of actually helping you understand what life was like in Virginia City for an average person who wasn't Mark Twain or a guy who hit it rich buying a mine. While things could still be done to help visitors understand even more (for instance, I never was able to figure out why it's called the "Fourth Ward" school), this is definitely one of the more historical and less "tourist trap"-y places to visit in Virginia City.
This school in Virginia City could school 3,000 kids from 1st grade to high school. Architecturally it is a fascinating and beautiful structure fully restored to its former glory. There are many historical timelines and displays for history buffs but the best part is your imagination and thinking about how generations past built a structure like this and educated thousands of kids with a good old fashion "get 'er done" attitude. They don't make folks like that anymore. Worth the visit.
A cultural landmark! Many original artifacts such as desk, geographic maps, chalkboards and more. There was a friendly staff member that was very knowledgeable of the history of the school. The visit cost $7 for adults and slightly less for children. The museum is quite large. Parking is next to the building. Parking is slightly on the small end so get there early. Great views of the valley from the parking lot.
Wonderful museum! The docent was incredibly informative, and we really enjoyed both the building and its rich history. One thing we especially loved was seeing all the actual photos of people who attended over the years, along with personal touches like the scuff marks left by children who once slid down the bannister. You can tell the place has been lovingly maintained and truly cherished.
We went for a small electronic music festival and were blown away by the amount of history packed into the exhibits here. What a pleasant experience we had and will have to go back again to get the full tour.

I had to go check out the Delta Saloon after it reopened, and my buddy, Stephen, got hired as a GM. The casino is gorgeous and the food was great. I got the grand tour and they have done a great job with everything. I didn't eat at the steakhouse, but I will next time ! Great job !
We had the BEST dining experience here. From the moment we walked through the door, we were impressed with every aspect of this establishment. As we were waiting to be seated, the General Manager/Chef took us on a little tour of the upstairs. He was friendly, knowledgeable and checked on us several times during our visit. The cocktails were fantastic, especially the lavender lemon drop. I had the elk chop and mac n cheese. Both were phenomenal. My boyfriend had the prime rib. They were out of mashed potatoes (we were there late) and due to gluten and dairy allergy, he passed on the other side options. Much to our surprise, the chef special made him fries. We both had a wedge salad, and I gobbled down the incredible bread that had amazing butter. Our server was also fantastic. It's a beautiful restaurant, with incredible food and top-notch service. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Virginia City.
Great stop over. Faith was amazing and kept us entertained for a few cold beers and some stories Beer were super cold. There is coop little mine tour as well Drfitnkwy stop in to say hi to Faith . We will be back .thanks ☘️🤙
Absolutely phenomenal! Not only do they give close to Michelin star service, the food meets every standard for a high quality steakhouse. We had heard good things but the actual experience blew us away! Steven, the GM, and everyone else (Christina was our server) was so attentive and generally wonderful to be around. We left so full from the table side caesar, crab cakes, ribeye with mushrooms and whipped potatoes, and bananas foster for desert.
Took our out-of-town parents to the sawdust last weekend and had a great experience! We made reservations the week before, definitely recommend doing so especially as tourist season kicks off. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, comfortable seating, and great lighting. There was no music in the Delta or restaurant that day so I’m unsure of those noise levels, but it was pleasant for us. The staff was very attentive, the food was excellent and the options were great for someone like me with dietary restrictions. we will definitely be back!
My group of four arrived at this restaurant without a reservation and were told we would be able to get a table within minutes. The hostess went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and taken care of. Our server, Haven, was very attentive, professional, and gave excellent recommendations and customer service. We were very impressed by the service here and will definitely return when we are in the area to try other menu items.
We hadn't intended to visit this place, but as soon as we got out of the cab, we noticed the saloon was open, so we decided to give it a try. The saloon has a lovely, spacious, old Western style. The women behind the bar were friendly, and we ordered a Bloody Mary which turned out to be amazing - the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, they don't serve food there yet, so we had to go to another place for a meal. But you should definitely check it out, and don't forget to look for the suicide table in the saloon.
Cool old time spot. Food was crap. Nobody waiting tables just employees standing around with their thumbs up their butts

Went there with my wife and friend. Dawn was really well versed on the history of the area and more importantly, the building. Really awesome history lesson. The paranormal stuff was fun, she showed us pictures that had been taken in the mansion of known ghosts. The way it was presented was credible and modern (she looked up pics on her phone haha). She lets us play around and do a little light ghost hunting. We had a blast, definitely worth 14 dollars. For the record I’m a ghost skeptic and I was impressed with how Dawn made the atmosphere feel haunted and set the tone in a way that made it enjoyable to give the idea of ghosts some credence. Really great tour and a fun way of end our day in Virginia City!
The host of our tour was very knowledgeable and clearly has taken a lot of time and care with not only this house and the history it contains, but also in teaching and sharing about it. The tour was a great value, and our host was a delight! Thank you for making this experience possible!
What an amazing tour! Our tour guide was exciting and animated. He told the stories so well and they were interactive and fun! Its amazing how much history is still in this building! Its a must-see for Virginia City!!!
We had a fantastic tour of the Mackay Mansion with Dawn, and it was one of the highlights of our time in Virginia City. Dawn was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour feel personal—she tailored it to our interests and shared so many fascinating details about John Mackay, Virginia City’s history, the strong connections to San Francisco, Hearst Castle, and much more. The mansion itself is stunning, filled with original furniture and artifacts, each with its own story connected to important figures in history. Dawn also wove in some of the spookier tales of the house, which made the experience even more memorable. We came away learning so much, and it truly felt like stepping back in time. We loved every minute of it and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Virginia City.
The guided tour of the historic Mackay Mansion was nothing short of amazing! Our tour guide made the entire experience unforgettable—he was knowledgeable, funny, and brought the rich (and spooky!) history of the mansion to life. You can tell he loves what he does, and that energy is contagious. The mansion itself is breathtaking, from its well-preserved rooms to the beautifully kept grounds that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Between the fascinating stories, the hints of haunted history, and the gorgeous setting, this tour had the perfect mix of charm and chills. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Virginia City—it’s a must-do!
This was such a great experience. My whole family was amazed by the caretaker's storeys and by the atmosphere. She does an amazing job. I recommend it 100% and we will be back. Thank you for an amazing day.
The Spooky Candlelight tour was very informative and super interesting. Shout out Dawn and Halen for being the best guides anyone could ask for. Don't forget to get a photo of Veronica!
Did the day tour, it was fantastic!! Dawn is really an amazing guide, she shares so much of the interesting history surrounding the mansion. Some of the most famous people in American history have had a hand in making this place what it is today. Dawns explanation of priceless artifacts was very detailed and spot. Learned a lot. He have done the night ghost hunt tour as well. I highly recommend doing both.

exceeded my expectations - spencer was a phenomenal host. not only very knowledgeable (and hilarious for my taste) but so kind to our kids. we had 2 three-year olds with us and he tailored the tour to them, included them, and was genuinely kind. 10/10 would go back
Since Chollar mine has recently closed down, we decided to take this tour. One young man is apparently 100% handling it and I think he needs to look for work he actually enjoys. He handles selling tickets, putting groups together and the tour itself, so whatever he decides to do it what you get. Our tour has a group of 11 added just minutes before it was scheduled to start. Once we got inside, the first thing he said was “since this is such a large group, I’m going to skip the map part.” What?? What does the size of the group have to do with anything and why does I get less of a presentation just because he chose to have a large group? I was legitimately interested to know what I was seeing on the map in front of us and disappointed he chose to completely skip the first part of the tour. As we went forward it was obvious he knew a lot of facts, and I do appreciate a deadpan style of humor but it’s not easy to pull off effectively and he couldn’t do it. It was annoying not entertaining. I don’t recommend this tour to anyone
We came to Virginia City for a mine tour and weren't disappointed. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. I highly recommend this tour. However, if you're tall, the mine isn't built for you so watch your head. If you're very tall (6'3" or more) you're going to be uncomfortable and I'd skip this tour.
We went on this tour yesterday and it was horrible. The tour guide seemed like he was still drunk from the previous night's bender. He talked more about his failed relationship than anything in the mine. He was using profanity even though we had our 10 year old daughter with us. He also talked about how he got blackout drunk the previous Saturday night and ended up with a strange woman in his bed who he had to kick out. Do not go on this tour.
Our tour guide mostly discussed his irrelevant, contemporary political opinions and spoke little about the city’s history and mining. He made constant self-deprecating jokes that made everybody uncomfortable, and were wildly inappropriate for the children present. I learned nothing about the mine, as we were treated as a captive audience for his soap box. The lucky ones were in the back, who could not hear what we was saying.
Tour guide was revealing personal details about his wife leaving him a few days before our tour and his wish to die. While I am sorry he is in pain HE SHOULD NOT BE LEADING TOURS INTO A MINE! It was creepy and actually made us feel unsafe. This young man needs to be seeing a therapist right away!
Although there was a wealth of information and an interesting tour this may not be for everyone. The tour guide is a bit colorful, quirky and may not use language appropriate for young children.
The tour guide spoke too much about his ex wife and ex-girlfriends, and wanting to die. Needed to stick more to the history. Also, one fact was wrong about who invented the square set.

A great historical place to walk and read about. They have a brochure at the entrance where they show different people being buried in their background common but also you can download the walking tour audio For free (see one of my photos) What a gym of a city it is, including the cemetery. They preserved it the way it was 150 years ago, and they're so proud of their own little town. The little museum is awesome as they have regular everyday household items from 150 years ago mama as if the family just left them behind and they picked it all up.
The Silver Terrace is a Do Not Miss when you come to Virginia City. I do want to note that the hours on the website are wrong. It closes at 6pm and not 7pm. The Caretaker was kind enough to let us have a little time when we arrived and it was much appreciated.
I felt goosebumps while exploring this place. The stench of the dead wafts in the air. It’s one of the most beautiful cemetery I visited mostly families of miners were buried here according to their religion. Most tombstones dated back in the 18th century.
It's a long walk. Very interesting , but sad to see all the vandalism that has taken place
The Silver Terrace Cemetery in Virginia City is a cool older cemetery with quite a few pre-1900 unique headstones. Likely will spend 20-30 minutes here walking around the cemetery reading a few of the headstones. There are some cool and custom headstones and some great views of Virginia City as well.
Dry, dusty and visible from much of Virginia City, the Silver Terrace Cemeteries are the final resting place for many of the city's movers and shakers, knowns and unknowns. Many of the dates on the stones are quite close together - Living in the west in the 1800s did not contribute to extended life expectancies. The majority of people buried here were miners in the Comstock Lode and their family members. Headstones date back to the 1880s. There are technically eleven cemeteries here that were established by Catholics, Masons and other religious* and fraternal groups. Over time, they've sort of merged and are now known as the Silver Terrace Cemeteries. Back in the day, it was once described as the "loveliest burial grounds in the State of Nevada" but times have changed and decay has been rampant. The ground is extremely uneven. It's sandy, rocky and not level. There is a lot of overgrowth and broken cement. There are paths to walk along but you need to be on the lookout for wildlife. I would not recommend open toed shoes and consider boots if possible. It is not handicapped accessible.
Loved this creepy old cemetery. This is in Virginia City just outside of Reno and well worth the drive up the mountain to visit it and the city for a day trip. Most of the graves were from the 1800's which adds to the creepy factor for some reason. I don't think I would want to visit this place after dark though!
My husband visited the cemetery twice this weekend. We love old cemeteries! On Sunday we went on the Voices of the Past Tour. It was absolutely amazing! The actors were wonderful! Funny and very informative. BRAVO! We highly recommend the tour.

The opera house is always beautiful and has so much history. We saw a Comstock Christmas Carol this year and it was a wonderful production. I loved the fog effects and the snow effect and you could tell that the cast worked really hard. The scene changes with the carolers encouraged audience participation and beautifully covered the set changes. For an evening out with my family, it is always a wonderful time to go to the theater!
One of my favorite places in Northern Nevada is Virginia City. One of my favorite places in Virginia City is Pipers Opera House. Although I've been to Pipers Opera House on several occasions, I've never been asked to draw my Event Caricatures there, until this last visit. The event was AMAZING!! Imagine exchanging vows in all the glory of the late 1800's! If you're looking for a unique site for your upcoming nuptials or even an upcoming event, be sure to check out Pipers Opera House in Virginia City, Nevada! Oh, and to make your event even more memorable, invite Michael Hopkins Event Caricatures to your event!
We went to A donation dinner and it was awesome. BBQ served was great, entertainment (Lady and the Tramps) were great and a lot of fun. Building was clean and very historic (spooky). Great place to have a get together
The history of the building and the town are really cool, to learn that rolling out the red carpet comes from this place is amazing. If you can check out the old building.
Very cool place to see, lots of history.
History! History! History! Wonderful tour, and so unique. Will see again 😊

Very cool saloon with nice staff. The major feature is definitely the mine tour! The young man that showed my family the features really knew his stuff and should be a teacher/ professor somewhere. He made old mining history very interesting, tying it in very well to the states of California and Nevada. Unbelievable the conditions miners used to work in, you will see this when he shows you the stories of stairs coming down from a hole and how dark it was without candles. Appreciate the book he introduced to me as well. Great stop for any family wanting some fun knowledge!
Our family has been attending the annual Christmas parade in Virginia City, NV for nearly 25 years. It's a fun and festive event that has grown in size. The 2024 crowd was one of the biggest and the decorations were the most spectacular in many years. Also, a fireworks show has been added after the parade which was a really a nice ending to our evening. During the parade and throughout the evening we stopped for a few beers at the various saloons in town. The Ponderosa saloon is a nice place to grab a hot chocolate or cocktail! Prior to the parade, we had dinner at the Cider House, small but enjoyable. The Parade is held on the first Saturday in December and begins between 5pm and 6pm. I recommed getting to Virginia City early (2pm-3pm) so you can find parking and have time to do some shopping and/or get a bite to eat!
The best smash burger..get the quarter lb. ...I had pepper jack and bacon...it's really big and made perfectly...brother and sister in law had the Philly cheese...excellent...service great and good entertainment on a Sunday for lunch!
Great little pub in Virginia city . Legendary stories have been told here. Make sure you check it out and ask for Faith . Fantastic service . We didn't do the mine tour but I'm sure it would be cool. Beer is cold and beat hot dogs in town I'll be back and so should you ☘️🤙
So cool to see period items and read of the history of the place and owners. The stories are pretty interesting! Nice spot for a snack and a beer. ❤️
We did the mine tour. Found it interesting. Lots of history. Staff was colorful and knowledgeable.
It was cool. Our guide (I think his name was Ty) was very enthusiastic to give you any information. There is not to much to see but a lot to learn.
The best bar tenderlady in the world. We love her! Friendly, totally open and lovely! The hug she gave us will never be forgotten! Not mentioning the drinks:)

Nice small museum of very older fire equipment! Well displayed with local artifacts. Free but leave a donation.
Very cool! Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
We've lived here for 16 yrs and finally made it inside the museum. It's very nicely set up with engines of various ages and the displays are informative. During those years I've known many people working there but never went in! Go inside and make a donation.
Really interesting little museum about the history of the local fire fighters
I am disappointed with this museum and the other museums in this town. I have tried to find out more about the "Virginia City Hanging Tree", but this information was removed from the museums. After the hanging tree was revealed to be a large part of Virginia City's history, I wanted to know more, but the people here are not helpful.
Nice small museum with great collections of old fireman equipments, really well maintained. The gentleman who was the staff of the day was super friendly. This whole place runs on donation fundings so if you enjoy the exhibition please be sure to donate!
Small museum run by donation about firemen. The gentlemen at the front desk is very friendly
Great free museum (donations requested). Original fire apparatus in excellent condition.

Best prices on all the jewelry. Lots to choose from. They have a lot of different precious and semi precious stoned jewelry. Beautiful and all well displayed. Service is professional, noligable, helpful, and great atmosphere. I visit every time I go to Virginia City.
This place is a must visit. There is always such beautiful jewelry and treasures to find. They also have a museum that tells you about all of the gems from around the world.
You come for the silver. Bars and decorative bars. They also have jewelry and coins. Owner enjoys what she does and is very personable.
Excellent place. Marvelous coins and other gems and jewels for sale. Great place to Buy souvenirs from the Comstock Lode.
Looks like a pretty good store and plenty of help, like 3-4 in a small place. Not exceptionally helpful, but ok.
The ladies were knowledgeable, kind and helpful. The prices were good and the silver beautiful!
Has great jewelry and Gold and Silver. Right on the main street, C street. Very Friendly
I’ll never be back. The young lady tried to change the prices of a few silver coins, after the older lady had already quoted a price based on the spot price of silver. At the register, she tried to double the price.

We have stayed here the last few years. This place is perfect location for street vibrations. Good price and maintained. Sad that they changed the way they book the rooms so I had to find somewhere else to stay now. We go every year and my buddy has went the last 10yrs. He will also find a different place to stay. Sad but it’s our yearly ritual to come to Virginia city for the rally. What started as 1 room has turned into 4 rooms. Next year is 6 so their loss. But great place to stay and the owner Dave is great as well.
OK, let’s start with the good stuff. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and for the most part it was very quiet. First thing I was told on the phone when I made the reservation that there was a discount for cash when I got there to check in the guy said that everything is the same price. It was a woman who told me on the phone, there was a discount for cash so I don’t know if they don’t talk or what number two there’s plenty of room to upgrade the bathroom and make the shower bigger. It is literally a shower for an RV And very small for a guy my size other than that real decent place
Having stayed and enjoyed previous overnights at the Virginia City Inn in earlier years, here into 2024 it was sad to discover the motel in decline. While the value of modest prices of this motel used to reflect clean, fresh and nicely appointed rooms, today the room appearance, fixtures, furniture and carpets appear dusty, faded and worn, and bathroom sink and shower basically clean - but well worn and aged. The mattress felt like it may be as much as a decade old, or older. It’s still an excellent location with great parking and a nice staff - but it appears that perhaps there’s been an ownership change and the current owner may be deferring maintenance and not investing income back into keeping the property at its former best. The modest price becomes less attractive when discovering that the Virginia City Inn is increasingly relying on only its location. :-(
Great place to stay during a trip to Virginia City. It's a bit of a walk from downtown, but a flat and easy one if you don't want to fight for parking, or drive after the saloons. The hot water did run out before we could fill up the spa tub in the anniversary sweet, other than that it was great!
Location is great, right on the edge of town, so you can walk anywhere in Virginia City. The view from the back of the hotel with the grassy area is fantastic, with the tree swing, very nice. Room was mostly clean, bed was a bit soft and old, but large. We liked that there was a refrigerator and microwave. No closet to hang clothes though, and no end tables for the bed. Bathroom had a moldy shower curtain and some areas that were not cleaned before our arrival. Staff was very nice ! would stay there again.
Clean rooms, and friendly staff. Vintage charm, but outfitted with modern accoutrements. I've stayed at a number of hotels in the Virginia City area. This one is located just outside the tourist-dense town center, which made for a nice change of pace. I had a beautiful view of the 4th Ward School and the valley beyond from my bedroom window. My room also had television, which other area hotels often don't have. When in Virginia City there's a lot to do beyond watching television, but at the end of a long day of exploring the Comstock it's nice to be able to flip on something entertaining to watch while unwinding.
Very clean!! Great price & quality!! Would definitely return for a longer stay - loved it. The management is top- notch!! 5-stars (out of 5 stars). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The room was cute and very clean. Check-in was easy and had a very good experience there

An absolutely gorgeous store with an incredibly large array of products, and the owner is incredibly sweet. He was more than willing to show us anything we had interest in and he is incredibly happy to negotiate for prices, prices that are already incredibly reasonable. I have been in this store more than 10 times, and it’s the highlight of my trips here. Kashmir is very considerate and will help you find anything in your budget. I was looking at a trench knife but it was outside of my budget, so he recommended a full tang knife that was inside my budget. I’ve been offered tea or water many times and while I haven’t had the time to take him up on his offer, the next time I get asked I will absolutely accept.
We went here years ago, (before Smart phones) and we have kept talking about the amazing customer service that my wife and I received. Hands down, the coolest owner we have ever met and the coolest selection of rugs. Go in and explore this place, you will not regret it. ✌️
LOVED the friendly, warm service. Found a beautiful faux fur coat and the owner and his bookkeeper, Eva, couldn't have been sweeter. Offered us tea and cookies, took pics with us. Highly suggest y'all visit them!
Fascinating selection of inventory from around the globe. We have found some unique western items for our motel from this store including a old Buffolo Bill and Sitting Bull framed Photo. A must visit on a trip to Virginia city. Authentic Navajoes rugs and wall hangings are hard to resist
Thank you again my friend for the enlightening conversation as well as your caring spiritual nature. The beautiful light brown " shirt " I bought. ( I forgot it's real name and derivation ? ", will help me keep my mind centered and free, as we discussed. Peace To You
Eclectic store in a special town. The staff was kind and offered wholesome conversation and tea.
Excellent coolest store matched with excellent customer service.
Beautiful goods, lovely shop keepers, a delightful experience.

Every single time I have gone to the Storey County Courthouse I have been helped with quick, efficient, and knowledgeable staff. I have gone in for my DMV registration, transfer of ownership‘s, license renewals, etc... Their DMV is awesome! I’ve gone in to the court clerks office and have had amazing help from everybody in the office. Honestly, I can’t say enough good about this Department Cluster!!! Cluster, (i.e., Multiple Departments in one location!) Small town living is a blessing!🥰
My husband and I were married here. There is so much history and it sits in the middle of the beautiful town.
