Dense groves of massive, old-growth redwoods, 20 miles of trails & a campground with cabins.

This park is beautiful. This is where you can see really big trees. There's very few places these days with trees that big. The campsites fill quickly make sure to reserve. Easy access to the river shallow water that you can sit in or fish
Absolutely beautiful and a must-see. True wonder of nature! We went and walked on the Grove of Titans trail, which is about two miles total. They ask that you stay on the trail (because your footsteps can damage the forest floor) and there are some raised metal walkways because of this. Though there’s a lot of roads and trails, it’s still a good idea to be prepared. There are countless areas where there’s no service, roads are dirt and are extremely narrow (but there are turnouts/shoulder areas where you can pass). BRING WATER AND SNACKS! It costs $8 per car if you park within fee areas. The parking lot by the Grove of Titans trailhead was free, and there’s a restroom there as well. Absolutely amazing. Even within five minutes of our hike, a deer walked across the pathway. Didn’t seem to mind humans. It’s worth a visit! Also, if you get the chance, visit the Smith River — the water looks like glass.
Absolutely surreal and euphoric! Walking among these ancient redwoods feels like stepping into another world. The towering trees, peaceful trails, and crystal clear Smith River make it a truly magical experience. Far less crowded than other parks; pure bliss.
Amazing in every way. I recommend doing the Boy Scout Tree trail first. It’s the longest, but well worth it. The trail has tons of roots and hiking boots would be preferable. The Boy Scout tree is easy to miss since it is off the trail. It’s on the right side of the trail before you get to the waterfall.
Lovely park. Great walking trails. Clean park and friendly checkin at the kiosk. It loses a star because the bathrooms and showers are gross. Shower takes 4 quarters for 2 min. of water. There is no change machine like there is at other State parks. The drain was clogged/slow and water filled up the entire changing area. Very muddy and dirty showers and bathroom stalls.
The drive into the park on Howland Hill Road, right up close and through the redwoods, is one of the best forest drives that exists. It becomes one lane at times, meaning you will need to coordinate if other cars are coming, but it is worth it as it is as it is close to the trees as you will ever get in car and helps preserves the immensity of the forest around you. Visit the park as early as possible to avoid seeing other cars and hikers. We went right at sunup and were one of the only ones there. We hiked the Grove of the Titans and Stout Grove and it is impossible to explain how amazing these old growth redwoods are to someone who hasn't seen them. Pictures can't really do them justice as they can't capture the feeling they invoke when you are really confronted with how massive they are. The park is well kept and the hikes we did were well marked and very peaceful in the early morning. The trails and drive out did get much busier with people and cars as the morning wore on. I thought the additions of the metal platforms and bridges on some of the trails was useful and did not take away from the surrounding nature. If they help preserve the undergrowth, I'm all for them. All in all, a great park to see the redwoods which should be on everyone's list of things to do.
Must see! Truly one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been. The Redwoods are absolutely massive, and no photo can capture how incredible they are in person.
My mother and I visited in December, where we lucked out all week with little to no rain. This forest was the most magical I'd ever been in. Highly suggest entering off of Howland Hill Rd in the early morning. We were the only ones around for miles and the misty morning made us think we had entered another realm. I think about this day quite often and can't wait to take my daughter and husband one day.

Photos just can’t do it justice. This was one of our favorite hikes on our family trip to the Redwoods State and National Parks - the trees were incredible, and the path was easy and level — perfect for families with littles, seniors, or those needing to take it easy. It took us about 45 minutes, stopping to take lots of photos!
The highlight of our trip. Visited Oregon. A local recommended visiting here. This was the highlight of my mother/son vacation. Saw our first banana slug :) video attached!
This place is AMAZING! The natural beauty is jaw dropping. The path is easy and family friendly. There is a bathroom at the beginning of the trail. This is a must when visiting the Redwoods.
Great hiking area. Easy loop path. Some steep hills, but short hills.
Semi easy trail with river access, on difficult spot is the very beginning/end where you go down hill and obviously have to go back up, but this or lady bird grove were my favorite spots in the national park
Easy trail. Very family friendly. Took the kids. I would even say you could take a wagon. The only part you might struggle is getting it down to the river. The river was a nice destination for the kids to play in. Would recommend!
Nice trail, easy to walk, the grove is very nice, lots of large trees clustered in a small area, good views of a mature redwood forest.
Ok to be real I didn't explore the end where you park. It was the drive there that I loved. Several places to pull over and explore. Hollowed out redwoods from lightning strikes, trails and the river. So many hidden gems. So don't go from point A to point B. Play in the middle.

Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
A million gallons of tanks housing sharks, seals & rays, plus shark petting & sea lion shows.
Slide 1 of 8
What a great little adventure! I stopped in with zero expectations, assuming a tiny overpriced aquarium. I was then told they only do tours, so I was a little skeptical, but wow we loved it! Every single staff member I interacted with (4 people) had a great attitude and was helpful and friendly. The price for the tour was well worth it. There weren’t a ton of aquariums, but the ones they had were well stocked with interesting creatures and fun to look at. The best parts were being able to actually touch and pick up various invertebrates, shark petting, and a little show with some well-trained harbor seals and sea lions. The tour wasn’t too long to where it dragged, but we also never felt rushed. Plenty of cute little photo ops along the way. The gift shop had a ton of souvenirs and decently priced toys for kids. Highly recommended if you’re driving through and looking for an hour or two stop to stretch the legs.
One of the reasons we stopped was because of the tide pools touch tank. We love exploring tide pools. The aquarium was neat, on the small side and there was a cute show with the sea lions at the end. Nice gift shop.
Timed, guided tours mean there aren't a lot of people pushing in to get a view. While there weren't a lot of specimens, it was still a nice little aquarium. The touch tank was one of the better ones I've been to, even allowing you to pick up anything on a shell. The seal/sea lions shows had humor and gravity defying tricks. Our shark loving daughter was so excited to get to pet the shark!! Tip: Check the website for a printable coupon!
Honestly, just a small aquarium. But you do get to pet a shark, a small shark, but still a shark. The coolest part is at the end when a seal and sea lion come out and do tricks. The gift shop is nice and you can get redwoods stuff in there. Little steep in price however. Tours run every 30 minutes or so, but the groups are kinda big.
This was a very nice aquarium to visit while here in town. They walk you through their place and showed you all the different creatures they have. They had a place where you could pet the starfish, you could also pet a leopard shark, and they have a sea lion show.
What a cool place. You get to pet a shark… that actually loves being pet. The animals all seem very happy and well cared for. It’s a really awesome hands on experience well worth the money. The staff were all awesome and happy too. Highly recommend!
This place is small but fun. There is a tide pool where you can touch different sea creatures. There is a tank where you can bet a leopard shark. There is an aquarium area but it is not wheelchair accessible. You can see many different local species swimming around. At the end of the tour there is a sea lion and seal show that is fun.
It was cool to see the sea life and pet a leopard shark. It would be cool to see more ocean life there. We got to see sea lions and seals. They could step up their game a little more but our tour guide was super sweet, informative and took a picture of my family.

So beautiful. The pictures don’t do it justice. And right when I thought the sun had set, here comes the real sun; ready to set. The false setting sun was just a reflection.
Parking is easy. There is a picnic place and from the overlook you can see the beach northward and it is super beautiful at sunset.
There are a few connecting trails at this entrance, but I was in a bit of a hurry so took the compact 1.3mi hike down to Endert’s beach. Great payoffs for not much effort. Worth the stop even if you don’t make it for low tide to see the tide pools. It was foggy when i visited which obscured the ocean from some viewpoints, but it added a sort of mystique to the forest. Lots of bunnies and blackberry bushes along the trail. The switchback path leading down to the beach is quite narrow with overgrowth.
We were in Crescent City for two evenings and the first evening we decided to come up here and watch the sunset. There were clear skies and we were able to watch the sun as it slipped down below the horizon! We decided to come up here again the second evening and watch the sunset again. This time it was cloudy, but we waited it out to see what we could see. This sunset was absolutely breathtaking! The entire sky was glowing a bright pink and even gave the water a pink tinge to it! It was another awesome display of God’s work in creation!
Super cool lookout spot. A must see for all visitors. Don’t miss out on this location. No tickets required absolutely free
Part of Redwood National and State Parks, located a few miles south of Crescent City, CA. The overlook is accessed via a short drive down Enderts Beach Road, which begins off U.S. Highway 101. A small parking area is available at the trailhead. Highlights: 🔭 Fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean, beaches, and harbor. 🚶 Short paved trail leading to the overlook platform.
A great and beautiful stop! Has enough parking. Has a small sitting viewing area. Very relaxing!
Absolute must stop here off of hwy 101. They have picnic tables & benches to sit and enjoy the scenery. Even on a cloudy day we had a spectacular view. Also have trash/recycling & bathrooms

Crescent City Harbor is one of our favorite places to go, whether it's just to stop and stretch your legs, check out the boats, or walk your doggies, it's always a pleasant experience every time we stop in. It offers a variety of different things to do while visiting. Fishing, crabbing, sunset walks, and delicious restaurants some supplied by local fishermen, nice work guys. The Farmers Market has locally grown produce, hand-crafted artisan gifts, baked goods, fresh fish, hot food, and more. The property adjoins everyone's favorite, South Beach. popular for its surfing, combing sand dollars and agates or just soaking up some sun. The Crescent City Harbor provides all-around good fun. And hands up to our 24-hour security team hard at work keepin it clean, it's a safe place as well. Mr Hanks, you're the man. So a big thanks to our awesome Harbor Master Tim and staff for doing a fabulous job.
Great food here and the view is great.
Great place to visit during sunset and during the morning
This is where you get to see the sea lions hanging out. Also, ground squirrels coming out from the rocks along the dock. So cute...
If you're looking for a place beyond the surf to dump a skate egg case you found at the high tide line, the end of the pier is the best I could come up with. I have no knowledge of the outcome. (Does this matter to you? Unlikely, but it's been hounding me to write a review...)
We stayed across the street from the marina and enjoyed walking around and seeing some of the sights in this beautiful city. There are great beaches, there were some Redwoods, very photogenic area. Enjoyed our stay, many restaurants, great people and very scenic would like to come back and take in more of the area.
Staff are a great help and friendly services at all time. Out of hours theres security that can also help too. Marina was very fair prices and had all the facilities we needed including laundry, showers washrooms etc.
Went down to re-explore the Harbor area. It has all the boats to look at & lots of birds! It also has the best place in town to eat named Crescent City Seafood~~Oh my!! They have really good food!! Fish & chips of course & if they have it, fresh Halibut & chips! My favorite halibut!! You must try it!! I went the other night & my Babe asked for Salmon & chips!! It was yummy!! If it's not on the menu they will try to get what you want if they can! Also the have beers & wines to go with any meal!! It's just a beautiful place to go look at & take pics!! It also has an Art Gallery, boats on dry-dock boats coming & going, interesting people to talk with!! Go!! Enjoy!!!

Beachfront is a great place to watch the ocean, look for little sand dollars, and watch windsurfing. Great view of the pier and the Battery Point Lighthouse!
Cute playground, disgusting trash disposal and restrooms. Trash cans were overflowing with garbage including dirty diapers on the ground. We’d just arrived in town and it really put a damper on our visit to Crescent City.
Ocean Views 🌊: Enjoy stunning Pacific Ocean views and easy access to the beach. Family Fun 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦: The park features a playground, picnic areas, and a dog park, making it a perfect spot for the whole family. Active Adventures 🚴: Play on the disc golf course, ride the bike pump track, or walk along the Coastal Trail. Events & Community 🎉: Home to local events, festivals, and the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center.
We love coming here with our toddler! This place is well kept, has a recent coat of paint on the toddler area, and the swings are always clean. There is. Plenty of parking and it's near the beach which always makes for a wonderful view.
Super cool park large family kid place structure at kid town in some interactive items for the whole family. Also a picnic area.
Every Park in every city in America, no matter how big or small should have a pull-up and a dip bar. There's too many damn laws in this country but I got a suggestion for one more and it's a pull-up and a dip bar for every 5,000 people, in every town so if you got a town of 50,000, 10 workout stations with pull up and dip bars spread throughout the city. I guarantee you the men that built this country that work in concrete, construction, etc. would donate their time with the half day that it would take as long as the people would pitch in the money.
Very interactive and close enough for the kids to. Run to the beach And back. BBQ pits with picnic tables, beautiful view and park well kept. Trails to enjoy if the park isn't your thing. Only down side is don't go very early, as we tried to visit about 9 and there were many adults waking up from the night there, as there is so much enclosed to sleep in for homeless. We came back about 11 and all was clear.
Huge park! Great for walking, getting to beach, playing frisbee & other games. Awesome “KIDTOWN” in it - kids were having a blast

Absolutely lovely museum with tons of stuff to see. Could spend forever parsing through all of the notes, newspaper clippings, items, etc.
The museum was very informative of local history, but we were a little put off by them requesting money as soon as we walked in the door. It was posted in several places the suggested donation amount, as they run off of donations, but immediately after walking in the door we were approached by a woman saying we owed $5/adult and $1/child and held out her hand waiting for the money. We had planned on donating $20, but after being approached as if we owed them for visiting, we only “donated” the amount she told us too. Probably won’t visit again because of this.
It's hard to describe and a true treasure. I could spend a week exploring it. Not a 5 star because there is some very disturbing history presented without much context or awareness. It's a lot and I can only imagine the impact on a person with Asian or Native American or Black identity. The staff were kind and full of stories about the historic shipwreck. I hope they embrace additional curation to bring more transparency and accountability to this truly special collection.
What a fantastic hidden gem! So interesting and full of great things to look at, I would recommend for everyone.
Wonderful museum. The host was so kind, knowledgeable and helpful! Definitely recommend!
Local home-town museum. Lots to look at. Probably too much! Some displays are really well-done (especially the fresnel lens). Others are somewhat hodgepodge, but that's typical of a home-town museum. They even use the space in jail cells for display. A few of the displays are not easy to see because you are blocked off, or the display is behind reflective glass or behind jail cell bars. But for the price, this is a pretty nice museum.
If you appreciate local history, you'll enjoy this place. Dedicated group of volunteers maintain the museum, create exhibits and answer questions. Nominal $3 donation to enter..
One of the more interesting museum's we have been in, on the coast. It is $5 a person to get in. It was informative and diverse.

Getting to the trailhead if you've never traveled on roads like these can be a little scary- but don't let that stop you!! BEAUTIFUL trail, huge redwoods, a moderate hike (you'll be watching out for roots a lot), plan to spend a few hours. Once you get to the end you'll be rewarded with a small but cute waterfall. The trail offers a lot of scenery, and I would recommend it! Probably not the best for children or elderly as it is a moderate hike. There are restrooms at the beginning of the trailhead.
An amazing trail that winds it way to the Boy Scout Tree and then just a short distance further Fern Falls. To get to the trail head you will have drive down a dirt road. At the trail head are signs and a restroom. The trail is out and back, it 2.8 miles (4.5 Km) one way or a total of 5.6 miles (9 Km). The trail is rough going in many areas and the elevation changes will make it tough if you are not used to hiking going up and down hills. The trails are mostly wide enough for two persons. I found the trail is extremely scenic and the views were constantly changing. The surrounding area is also very quiet with occasional birds echoing through the huge trees. At the end you will find a sign pointing to the Boy Scout Tree. This tree is huge with a girth of 87 feet (26.51 meters) and a diameter of 23.24 feet (7.08 meters) at its base. After reaching the Boy Scout tree if you continue just a bit further you will reach Fern Falls.
The drive to get to the trailhead is a little scary; in some spots, only one car can go at a time. This trail took us a couple of hours, up and down stairs and over fallen logs. Lots of tree roots to trip over, so be careful. A cute "waterfall" and small stream at the end of the trail and a massive tree.
It is absolutely beautiful! The drive up is very narrow so be careful for opposite direction traffic some parts are just enough to let one go through and it is very tight windy turns but the hike is so worth it!!
Fun trail that is out and back. Not quite as busy as the other trails on this road. Definitely quieter than the Stout Grove.
One hike is never enough; I hit this trail every time I visit home and am never disappointed:) the light changes throughout the day and each venture into the forest is a new experience. We like to set a timer to tell us when to head back to the parking lot, or else we will spend all day out here:) bring your camera, water, and a snack!
Hiked from the camp ground to the end of Boy Scout Tree Trailhead and back. Each step of the trip was a treat! The waterfall was dried up but the Boy Scout Tree was a nice end to the trail. The tree was hard to describe it was so massive. Such an incredible sight to see! I saw a lot of people hiking with normal running shoes and even crocs! I would suggest hiking boots though, a lot of roots which can be real ankle turners.
2.8 mile trail with lots of roots in trail that make ground unstable for those with balance issues. Lots of uphill and about 2 miles in trail steepens down with 4"×4" stairs. Bring water and a walking stick can help

Gorgeous beach overall. People let their dogs off their leash here, so keep that in mind. There was dog poop on the beach. No bathrooms or spray off station.
Pretty place! Went in mid march so it was cold, but loved it! Lots of cool stones and shells!
Really pretty and not too crowded. Lots of sea life!
Beautiful views, and fun to beach comb. People were friendly, and dogs are welcome
This place is Awesone. I gave it 5 stars yet I have 1 concern. Getting down to the beach has set of stairs that can be challenging for elderly, or people with physical limitations. But it is way worth the fun, the views, and it's worth the fun of finding agates and sea glass that's mixed in with the pebbles. This particular beach is so much fun for adults. You can spend hours looking through the pebbles. And you can light awesome fires with the driftwood
Beautiful little beach in Crescent City. We seen lots of wildlife but beware of the seals. There is an island that they hang out on out farther in the water. It's neat to see and they are pretty loud but we did see multiple deceased ones, it was really sad you could see the teeth marks from where they had been attacked by a shark or something very large. Other than that great part this beach was awesome!!!
Beautiful beach. Great for walks, and there are some cool tidepools when the tide is out far enough.

We would like to thank him for taking the time to show us the route to take. If we hadnt stopped by we would have missed one of the best days of our trip. What a scenic drive. Thank you so much! Highly recommend stopping here!!
This is near the location for the start of the Tsunami Walking Tour. It was interesting to see the Tsunami information and impact points having lived in Anchorage and seeing the effects of the of the Good Friday Earthquake.
Very helpful and nice. Recommended where to get the cheapest gas, too.
So friendly and helpful info about where to enjoy Smith river with little kids!
This was a great stop. Got detailed driving directions and several recommendations. This is a must stop. They even told us where we might be able to safely observe sea lions in the area
Staff was great! Cruz gave us some amazing recommendations. Without him we would’ve never known about the Grove of Titans which ended up being my favorite part of our two week long road trip! Thanks Cruz!
Lots of information to go thru. The lady at the desk was exceptional in helping us plan our trip around the Redwoods. I highly recommend you stop tell them what you are hoping to do and they can help you plan to get it done.

Interesting hike to the nearby lake. When the hike gets into the thick canopy the mosquitos were really bad so you had to keep moving! Interesting area. Recommended but bring some bug spray!

The most amazing area in Del Norte County. We take our dogs out there daily. It's like walking through an enchanted forest. Dogs get to swim along the way and play ball. And we get a nice long walk♥️💯🦮🦮🦮🦮 Highly recommended!

Great campground! Very reasonable pricing and beautiful scenery. The sites are all different sizes and some back up to a stream that flows through the campground. Lots a trails and a very nice picnic area with a playground.
My trip to Florence Keller County Park in Crescent City, CA felt like a little miracle. Tucked away in the trees, it was peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to escape. The campground host was super friendly and welcoming—made us feel right at home. What really blew me away was how spacious the campsites were. Tons of room to spread out, set up camp, and not feel crammed up next to anyone. You could really breathe and enjoy nature out there. The tall trees, the fresh air, the calm—it was all just what I needed. Would absolutely come back again. Feels like a hidden gem
Perfect place to stay! Has super clean restrooms to use- no shower. $20 a night and had a super easy access and user friendly paying station! The tent spots were amazing! With fire pit and picnic table and trails all over and a gorgeous little creek running through the place! Nice small quiet area!
Was pretty neat. Picnic table, fire grill, bathroom facilities. (I was there on a full moon 10/17/24 woods got real dark, then the moon lit up different slivers of the forest as the night went on.) I liked I didn't have to set up my tent and sleep on the cold ground. I stayed much warmer in my truck. There were over 30 spots easy to choose from. Picked mine out hung the paper and came back several hours later at sunset and ate and slept.
Awesome place to camp!!! They have flush toilets and some water spouts scattered around the camp. Sites are mostly level (for RV and camper vans). $20 a night I think is a fine price. It’s in a neighborhood but somehow feels nestled in the forest. Bathrooms are nicely taken care of and although I didn’t talk to the camp host I believe they sell firewood! Self serve payment with cash or check (which I always like more than reservations!)
Very cool campground. Has mostly vaulted toilets. Has a nice park and picnic area. The camping spots are unique with large empty redwoods stumps. Kids could have such a great time adventuring here. Behind the camp sites there are all these cool trails. It would be so fun to play tag or capture the flag. Beutiful. Campsites have picnic tables and fire pits.
Nice campground nestled adjacent to Jebediah smith redwoods. Fire pit, picnic table, flush toilets and potable water all on premise. Camp host is friendly and sells firewood 10$ a bundle. A few trails throughout the property. Camping is $20 and is FCFS. The campground and bathrooms were clean. We enjoyed our visit
Closed playground and restroom amenities. Only had a couple porta potties. Sites are close to one another and other campers were unkind. Signs should be posted about the cat colony of 17 living at the campground. I saw one when I arrived and tried to help but by the time I bought a crate and came back there were 5 at my site, and no shelters within 50 miles would take even one. Found out later they were part of the TNR program and caught a couple months ago but it made me really sad that super friendly kittens are just living here with no place to go. (Fed daily by camp host) I would have rescued one if not for my allergies. This is a known issue and there is no information posted about it. I just wish I would have known before buying stuff and using a whole afternoon to try helping and ultimately giving up.
