Nice place and friendly staff. This was our first visit, we tried their Light Flight for $5, and their Antipasto plate. Next time I would like to try their Reserve Flight.
The space that the winery has for degustation is incredible, but the structure makes it a little but noisy. The wine are not premium. The people is so nice there but they commented us that they winery has been sold and next week will change its name and they will be selling in whole sale. They have nice variety of cheeses, crackers. The outside looked incredible but we were there in a rainy day and even in a rainy day looks like an amazing activity. The prices for the degustation are $5, $10 or $15 per person, pretty razonable and affordable.
Private tasting with the charcuterie plates was delicious. Great wines.
Nice place to taste wine and get good food from their deli.
Great wine and their tasting room is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful oak everywhere. I've not eaten here, but I hear it's great. I can't tear myself away from the wine long enough to find out more. They have a nice seating area outside should you want to stay awhile.
The tasting room sells a variety of cheese, would fit any wine. Our tasting experience was good (albeit not quick) , and we happily got a couple bottles. Seems a bit to sterile though, no warm and welcoming atmosphere you get at many wineries.
Sadly, Renwood is closing after 25 years. We’ve only been members for 5 years but they have been great. We LOVE the wines - esp. the Wine Club Zins. The food’s always great, etc. A lot of good people will be leaving - hopefully to work at other area wineries. Jessica you’re awesome. The bar has been set very high for Rombauer. Best of success to them in taking over the winery and putting their own spin on things. Great grapes and staff and methods = awesome wine. We look forward to visiting you down the road.
Their wine has improved so. damn. much. I was very impressed how the quality has improved over the past few years. And I am not saying that it was bad before, but it is a testament with what their new winemaker has been able to accomplish. I was impressed! So you can just go there for the great wine, but the actual tasting room was quite nice, as well. I like the newish remodel that was done a couple of years back and how they incorporated a restaurant style eating area there. They only draw back is the room can be quite echo-y, meaning when you hear the cackle of a pack of cougars who got lost coming down from Helwig and decided to stop here, it can be quite piercing on the ear drums. Not Renwoods fault though. I recommend going outside if this happens, which is okay because the grounds are simply beautiful and the wine is fantastic!

This is our go to winery! Jeff and the Runquist team share an exceptional experience and exquisite wine. I can't wait for the Touriga's release every year!
We joined the wine club so that we could have a tasting here. We were there on a wine trip with friends and it was their spring release day. This beautiful winery was full of people but it didn't feel crowded. We really like their wines and we had a great wine tasting with Joe. He was wonderful and let us try more wines than what was on the menu. The food for club members was also delicious and we all enjoyed it along with their wines. We ordered a case to be shipped home. I love their rainbow color Adirondack chairs out front. Not sure if it's meant to send a message of diversity and inclusion or just for aesthetics but hopefully the former.
We’ve belonged to several wine clubs over the past 15-20 years. Here’s the deal. This is the ONLY one we’ve stayed loyal to. Not only are the wines AMAZING, the owners are just genuine. Jeff’s winemaking talents are unparalleled. If you step into the tasting room, every wine is an experience, and nothing disappoints. Customer service is just beyond the best. Margie can’t be beat…she’s exceptional. Ten stars wouldn’t be enough. We are so blessed to have found Jeff Runquist Wines, and to have been wine club members for 15 years or more. If you are considering wine tasting in the Shenandoah Valley, don’t miss this place. It’s truly special.
This is my 3rd visit in six years- their wines are very good—-crowd pleasers. Today, we (5 of us) really enjoyed the 2023 stainless steel Chardonnay (silky), 2023 Viognier (lite and heavenly), 2022 Barbera (smooth & fruit forward). Also— these two wines were stellar: 2023 Verdelho— 2022 Zinfandel (98 points from their menu!). Wow—- great stop. Thanks Carl—- great host who made us all feel welcome and heard.
This place keeps getting better and better for wine tasting. Lots of patio space, indoor seating, and cozy rooms. Make the wine experience more personal. Plus, the wine here is great. Rarely is there a wine that I don't like at Runquist.
I enjoy the wines but I am partial to Chardonnays. Yesterday I was picking up 4 bottles of wine (wine club) and mentioned I do like Chardonnay and could I try theirs. Server told me they did not have any open. My guest mentioned twice that she would really like to try theirs Chardonnay but we were ignored. Normally the server will give you a little education on the wine they are serving but he would pour a small sip and leave after telling us the name of the wine. My neighbors all enjoy Jeff Runquist wines and I share at Friday get together. The more I think about yesterday the more I am angry. No explanation just “no Chardonnay open”.
We get to Amador County once a year or so for our CA wine fix. I'm convinced that the Runquist Winery is one of the more unknown gems in the county, despite being on the main road. Their Alicante Bouschet was new to me a few years ago, but now it's a staple in our collection and one of our favorites. Not known for their white wines, the Chardonnay was quite good. Karl was our server and we had a lot of fun with him before it got busy. He's a fantastic ambassador for Runquist wines. Make sure you take time to visit the winery, you won't regret it. It's a must for us each time!
As a current member of the Winery, I’ve always been very happy with Service. If today were my first day here, however, I would never become a member. My husband and I sat for at least 15 to 20 minutes between tastings with a very empty Tasting Room. They were plenty of people to serve, none were serving more than one table at a time or offering to go to other tables if they were busy. We finally had to get up and ask for another pouring after waiting 20 minutes from our second tasting, which had come 15 minutes after our first tasting. They are two tables currently being used in the tasting room for servers. Two of the three glasses at the second table are also empty. Our server just came over and apologized that we had to get somebody else at the bar to bring our glasses to us for our third tasting. She apologized for having had back-to-back orders keeping her busy, but I’ve been watching her and she’s had three minutes of busy while helping another server fill an order. Two servers filling one order. Busy release parties have had much better service than this Saturday with so few people to be served. Step up your game, Runquist.

We had a great private tasting experience with Leila. Our wine tasting was in a nice private room for our party of 9. We highly recommend it! Leila was a great hostess and enjoyed the wines very much. This is a beautiful winery and the one with the largest seating area outside that we went to in Plymouth. It's modern and new with gorgeous views of the valley below with a lake. Don't forget to order food at their little restaurant and have lunch on the premises. We all enjoyed our lunch. I had the beef brisket sandwich special and it was absolutely delicious!
You have to go just for the experience :-) we’re 2 1/2 hours away in Marin County worth every minute of this trip into historic wine country being treated the way that you used to be able to be treated in Napa! Folks appear kind, intelligent about history of wines and our reason for jumping in was there great concert series. Seen Pablo Cruise there twice. and planning on seeing starship in the fall. They really trough this out. It’s a great intimate venue every seats a great seat fun to sip their wine. hit the food trucks and enjoy the music. Their genius in the way that they’ve set up the venue and the processing to get you into the venue. No stress had great interaction with Sam one of their operations guys who really knows his stuff. I think he’s head of their wine club as well as one of their extremely helpful amazing representatives of Helwig. Really appreciated the hospitality.
Gorgeous looking winery with the best views in the area! You can see the snowclad Sierras in the distance and that was my favorite part of it all! We didn't do a tasting, but we got a couple of glasses of wine - the 2018 Petite Sirah and the 2022 Viognier. The wines were good but we enjoyed the winery more. Lots of places to sit and enjoy beautiful views all around. We were able to walk into their cellar and explore the area. For those interested in eating, they have a kitchen serving typical American food. You cannot bring outside food. All in all, we had a great time and definitely recommend checking this winery out if you want open space and views.
It was an absolutely gorgeous winery with the most amazingly nice people who were working on March 23rd, 2025! Had a truly lovely visit to Helwig, and we can not wait to bring our parents here this May ❤️
We took our friends from San Diego up to Helwig this past weekend since they have never been, and had an amazing time!! This place is beyond beautiful, incomparable views, and incredible wines. Gail (our wine expert) started us out with the sparkling rose which was so good! We continued through the tastings and enjoyed every one of them! The staff is so friendly and accommodating, and Gail was the perfect host! We will be back again and again!
We were welcomed into the tasting room and told we could be served either inside or outside. We got our first pour and walked outside with it. We explored the beautiful property and realized we'd be more comfortable inside. We were helped by no less than 2 different servers. Both were very nice and accommodating. I ended up buying 6 bottles, as I throughly enjoyed their reds and my wife their sparkling rose. Beautiful venue and wonderful wines and service.
While I have never left a review like this before I feel like it is appropriate given the circumstances that we encountered. The property is very beautiful and inviting yet the service unfortunately is lacking. We were a party of five inside and were completely ignored. We made it a game to see how long it would take for our next tasting to be poured. The person who poured our wine was actively drinking a bottle of wine in front of us and then would go on to say “I’m just hungover, I need to keep drinking.” He then would walk away as if we were just there to be entertained. It was completely professional and we will not be returning.
Yes there is a sign at the entrance indicating this is a 21 and over property. 21 and over for the tasting room or sales room I get. But for the restaurant? Outside? Are you kidding? They (Garrett) told us we would need to leave because we had a child with us. Even after I asked if we could order something to go for our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, he said no, and told us to leave. I don’t know of anything more rude than denying to serve a child accompanied by paying adults. Shameful. You can bet we will never visit this winery again, with or without our grandchild.

There's something for everyone. You like red wine? They've got them. You like white wine? They have them, too. Sweet wine? You betcha! A tasting fee that goes towards your wine purchase? Sure thing! A membership with generous perks? Uh-huh! And complimentary pasta lunch every weekend with your membership?! Absolutely! When you're considering buying a bottle, believe them (especially Maria) when they say the membership is worth it. You will have a fun little getaway to look forward to on your weekends with your mom, your girlfriends, or your best mate. I'm looking forward to coming back again with some friends and family to Villa Toscana. Ciao!
Excellent wine!! Can’t speak highly enough about Dan, he’s amazing always attentive and very knowledgeable about you having a great experience at Toscana. The reds are fantastic and the Viogneir is superb. Food is great and I would highly recommend this Vinery for a great experience!
Winery service was excellent! The gentleman at the tasting poured generously and let me try something else when I didn't like the pour. Also, they are dog friendly. My only complaint is that they stop serving food at 4pm, while they are open till 5pm. The food counter lady wasn't very helpful.
The owner has a gun, she said. After being loyal members for 12 years, we had to cancel our membership due to an extremely uncomfortable experience with staff. We arrived at 2:45 on Saturday for our regular visit and ordered pizzas that were served to us at 430. Serving staff reminded us that winery closes at 5 and we have till 530 to wrap up. And then a senior female staff member abruptly told at 5 PM that we needed to leave immediately because they were “closing the main gate soon and didn’t want us to be locked in.” When I made a lighthearted comment about not minding being locked in with good wine, she responded by mentioning that the owner has a gun and that staying would be considered trespassing. This threatening response was completely inappropriate and unnecessary, especially with children present. Our kids were frightened, and all of our guests felt extremely uncomfortable. There are professional ways to communicate closing procedures without making customers feel unwelcome or threatened. After 12 years of membership and loyalty, we expected much better treatment. The hostile tone and inappropriate comments made what should have been a pleasant visit into an alarming experience that we won’t soon forget. We’ve decided to take our business elsewhere and explore other local wineries that value their customers and handle situations with professionalism and courtesy.
Incredible grounds! Very nice atmosphere! Feels like you stepped into Italy! Had a delicious lunch! French dip was amazing! Young man at the Bistro checkout was very kind and helpful!
Too bad I can't do no stars. Unfortunately this winery has gone down hill over the past couple of years. My husband and I used to be members, this place actually helped us get through COVID. Sad to say they are letting unexperienced teenagers run the place now. My husband and I showed up at 11am on a Saturday when they opened, we went into the deli where we were ignored by 3 staff members until we asked them if someone could help us. We placed our food order, which was just a pizza, at 11:30 we went into the deli to ask if the pizza was almost done. The girl then told us, with a huge attitude, they hadn't even started it yet, when asked why they stated they had to cook the chicken for day first. We asked why we weren't told that when we ordered and when the pizza would be ready, they said about 12:30. We asked for our money back and will not be returning.
I have driven by this place at least a dozen times and finally decided to stop and try the fish and chips. The food was excellent, they have some amazing looking desserts and some very beautiful fresh looking salads. The courtyard was open and there were plenty of places for seating. The staff was pleasant and attentive.
It was my first time visiting Villa Toscano and I must say it was wonderful. We went last Friday and they had their free luncheon for Members. Everyone around Us was having a great time too! My Husband surprised me, he signed Us up on his first visit there with some Friends a few weeks prior. The wines are delicious and the Staff great. I liked how they were particular about keeping surfaces disinfected during this pandemic. Guests and Staff alike wore masks and socially distanced outside their groups. We are already planning our next visit and have recommended the winery to our Family and Friends. Well mannered pups on leashes were allowed so we will take our pups next time. The 4 stars are for the first visit for those just just reading my reviews.

We were in town for the weekend on a wine trip with friends and everywhere we went, we heard about Cooper Vineyards. So of course we had to make a visit to their tasting room. It's a beautiful and large winery with lots of seating inside and outside. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and were seated in their enclosed back patio. And were told that their wine tasting was complimentary! Wow! Their marsanne white and barbera were excellent. The wine tasting was fun thanks to our hostess Jane. She kept us entertained. She told us all about their winery and it's production. Unfortunately this was our 3rd winery of the day and we were pretty wined out so we only ended up buying two of their barberas. We will have to do another trip and come back.
Fantastic tasting experience. Quality wines with a creative wine maker. Known for their Barbera but recognized for much more. Great family run vineyard with great care for their customers. Fantastic space and view of the valley.
Our second stop at Cooper Vineyards during the Big Crush event!!! Totally beautiful winery. The ladies inside offering the tasting were lovely, and the wines are really delicious! We enjoyed a picnic lunch out in the front under the trees on the soft, lush grass. It was a really wonderful experience. Bought a bottle of the Barbera to take home and a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc to drink with our lunch! They even gave us a wine bottle ice pack to keep our bottle chilled. So cool!
I love this place, family owned. All staff is so sweet, and the tastings are great. I felt at home! The wine was excellent! I would definitely go back. They have great picnic tables on the grass, so bring your own food and have a picnic!
Absolutely perfect. The staff and wine are absolutely amazing. Every time we go we have a great experience. Cooper is the godfather of Barbera so if you’re on the hunt for Barbera, you MUST stop at Cooper vineyards.
We love this vineyard! Family owned and run. Their wines are excellent! Beautiful grounds. We found them three years ago and they are at the top of our list of wine clubs in a region with many wonderful vineyards. Don't miss them. Three years has turned to eight. COVID 19 protocols are based on individual choice as of 8/22.
Great wines and AMAZING people. Friends have introduced them to me a few years ago and I find myself coming back a few times a year. If you're sipping wine in Amador County, come to a very low pressure, friendly vineyard that just wants you to have a nice time.
What makes this place very special is the family story and the kindness of the staff to everyone, including this stranger. Tasty wines. Don’t miss the Barbera. Ended up taking a couple bottles home.

This wine is the PERFECT wine! I’m so thankful to Robin for suggesting it. She’s right, it’s so light and crisp! I was needing a wine to give as gifts but ALL of my friends are wine snobs, so I was nervous deciding what to choose. Robin guided me through all the amazing choices and helped me land on JANA. Obviously, I had to try it myself !!! She was right on point!! If you ever get a chance, go to the tasting room and ask for Robin. She is very knowledgeable and will help you find your favorite! She also knows all the great deals!!
We really enjoyed this winery visit! Our hostess Robin was wonderful with the wine tasting. She was very happy to tell us all about their winery and the wines that they make there. We tried so many wines. She was so nice and brought out extra wines for us to try as well. And their wines are excellent! We were so impressed that we had a case of wines shipped home.
Lonely grounds at their new digs. Lots of fire pits and heaters even on a cool day. Great customer service. Love that you can bring your own picnic.
Eric was the BEST! And the wines were also amazing. Celebrating an engagement and had the best time tasting so many fun and flavorful wines. We will definitely be back soon!
The last stop on an afternoon of wine tasting in Plymouth, my husband, friend, and I made our way to Scott Harvey. It was shortly before closing, but they did not begrudge us that, and happily served my husband and friend their tasting flights. I did not partake as I was the driver, but both of my cohorts reported that the wines were quite tasty and they appreciated being able to sample some off-tasting menu items. The staff did inform us that they are in the process of moving tasting rooms, so I am excited to see their new space when it is ready. There was ample parking at their current tasting room and they are dog friendly.
My husband and I had a bottle of 1869 Old Vine Zinfandel back in 2014 and absolutely loved it. We came in on Oct. 8th for a bottle and ended up buying 2 of the 1869 Old Vine Zin from 2013 and 2 from 2014, as part of the Griffen level club. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and went out of their way to send us off with a few extra goodies! I highly recommend anyone try the 1869 Old Vine Zin as it is like velvet on your pallet!! The best!! Brian and Bettina, from Conroe, TX
This is their new place, right next door to their old tasting room, it's bigger with a lot more seating outside and inside. The wine is great, especially their "1869" wine and I really enjoyed their "port" . Very friendly and knowledgeable staff... I highly recommend Scott Harvey wines, I have met Scott, he's a great guy.....
In my opinion, Scott Harvey wines are some of the best wines ever. I particularly like the Cabernet library wines, but I also like the Barbera wines and the Zinfandel wines. The owners are really nice people and care about their customers satisfaction. I joined their wine club. Amanda, the wine club manager, is very helpful and friendly. Michelle is the shipping manager and office administrator. She is also very helpful in dealing with shipping needs. For my latest shipment, she went well out of her way to address my constraints to receive the wines at a time I was available to sign for the delivery. I like how the winery folks contribute to the personal aspects of a customer. I have been purchasing their wines for some time now, and I have visited their winery twice, which is out of state for me. The wine tastings are a great way to explore the wines they produce. You should definitely visit them if you can, but online ordering and shipping is available if you cannot.

We had a great visit to this winery. It's situated right off the road and the first thing you see was the dog sculpture. Our host Mack did an incredible job with our wine tasting for our large group. We were seated outside and he led us through the tasting with funny stories and even brought out other wines for us to try. We learned a lot about the winery and the history of winemaking in Plymouth. We even tried the wine slushy, which was delicious. The charcuterie plate that accompanied our wine tasting was delicious and beautifully presented too. There was only a small bar inside for seating so we were seated outdoors. I wish there were some shade or heat lamps. The big building was closed the day of our visit. There were lots of benches and seating outside but they were unprotected from the sun and wind so we were a bit cold.
Everything delivered. The staff are all knowledgeable and inviting, the location is easily accessible and the wine and it's history are amazing. I drove from Sac (Abt an hr) and spent a good part of the day in the shade enjoying a flight and being doted on by a few gracious women. Will definitely be back soon.
Had been a few years since being here, really enjoyed the people, the wine was very good, bought two bottles and the slushy was perfect for a warm day. They had a food pop up Flora and Fauna Provisions which were fantastic and met my dietary needs without question and the live DJ spinning music was great too. Beautiful grounds as well.
A beautiful little winery! We began our "Behind the Cellar Door" wine tasting event at Vino Noceto! Every wine we tasted on their tour of Italy tastings were totally delicious! The little cheese board they offered was a complete touch of class and so lovely! We ended up purchasing the Petit Agour cheese wheel that they turned into flowers with a cheese curler because I fell in love with it, lol
Vino Noceto has quickly become our favorite winery in Amador county. Our recent tasting was goooorgeous, and the guys helping us out were not only a lot of fun but a wealth of information. Also, can I just say that turning your signature Moscato into a slushie is a stroke of genius?? Come for the slushies, stay for the rest of the wines and DIY charcuterie boards. Damn, man. Legendary.
Mac is da bomb. Quiet as it was, we had his full attention. An excellent educator/host. We are spreading the word. Thanks, Mac(k?).
With a friend in town visiting, my husband, friend, and I made our way to Vino Noceto upon the recommendation from another winery we had tasted at. The wines are of the Italian varietal, and several of them were new to us. We enjoyed the space and how pleasant the servers were. They took the time to educate us on the wines, but in a laid-back manner that was not pretentious or presumptuous. They have ample outdoor seating with plenty of shade and umbrellas. There is plenty of parking and they are dog friendly.
No need to go to Italy when you can buy their delicious Sangiovese wine and others at Vino Noceto Winery. Such a cute winery in Plymouth! Staff are very efficient and owners are very nice. The best thing we ever did was join their wine club years ago. Of all the ones we belong to this one is the best. 😊🍷

The Amador Flower Farm was a fun place to stop as part of our wine tasting experience today! We stopped to browse the selection and explore their grounds, and we were impressed by it all. Of course, their plant, flower, and seed selection is outstanding - rows and rows worth. Beyond just their flowers, though, there are many interesting gift and home decoration options and the staff is very helpful with suggestions. There's even a nursery area for starting your own garden at home. Alsi, the grounds of the flower farm are just as beautiful as the flowers themselves! So many interesting details everywhere you look. I felt like I had been transported into a quaint village or museum as I wandered the grounds. With its fabulous selection, beautiful ambiance, and friendly staff, I plan on coming back when I'm in the area to enjoy the scenery, and shop for some bulbs, plants, and flowers. I highly recommend visiting the amazing Amador Flower Farm if you have the chance!
Driving out on a long courty road, I came upon a crooked little road. I drove down the crooked road and found a crooked path. I walked the crooked path and found a crooked little tree next to a crooked little creek. I followed the crooked little creek, that brought me to a crooked little house. There flowers filled the air with beauty 💐 🌼🌻🌿🌱🏵🌼 all around. I walked up the crooked little steps and opened the crooked little door. All the walls & windows were standing straight up. I felt like I found home among all the flowers.🏡
I love this place so relaxing. You can go there for picnic. They have a nice seats. They have Mexican food, free popcorn and many selections of flowers if you like. So many flowers, and everyone was nice and helpful. Visiting again today, weather was beautiful.
I made the short drive from downtown Plymouth to Amador Flower Farm to pick up some artichoke plants. Day Lillies were in bloom so I got a few varieties to go with my artichoke, miscellaneous vegetables and some new pollinators
Love this place! Mother's day weekend is my favorite time at Amador Flower Farm. Everything in full bloom! Today was beautiful too, but stock still low...
What a beautiful place. Picked up a new tomato plant! So many flowers, and everyone was nice and helpful. Visiting again today, weather was beautiful
This is an amazing place to visit. Has a great vibe to it. Highly recommend, one of the must visit places if you are in the area. ❤️ for the Gift shop
No day lilies in bloom this time of year, but still lively. See photos We were looking for a specific variety of day lily They were able to look up the location on their computer system and walk us right to the plants we were looking for. They were in one gallon pots and very reasonably priced.

We make an annual visit to Amador County for a refresh of our CA wines and had never been to Andis. We both loved the setting, the wines and the staff. The wines are true to style, not sweet and all very good. Left with a case and they will now be part of our regular rotation of favorite wineries during our visit. We wish we would had tried them on previous visits but better late than never. Make sure to visit Andis, you won't be disappointed.
Love this place! Excellent wine tasting experience for client group of 7. Private seating with a short walking tour.
My wife and I attended a wine pairing at Chef chai’s in Honolulu. The food which is always amazing at Chef Chai’s, however last night Andis Wines took it to a whole different level. Absolutely fantastic wine’s. We met the owners Andy and Janis who make everyone feel very comfortable and put on a great presentation, talking about each wine. We also met Ana the spokesperson for Andis Wines, who is absolutely a beautiful person with a wealth of knowledge about wines.
We had a great time at Andis Winery in April 2024 during their zinfandel release with music and even a food truck. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly as we tasted almost all of their varietals. Zinfandel, cab franc, Barbera, Sauvignon Blanc and my favorite GSM Enor. We'll be back!
Best experience wine tasting in quite a while 🍷.The staff is very friendly and definitely following the Covid-19 safely recommendations. It was a fun experience and very enjoyable. They are pet friendly which is also a huge bonus. Their outside tables offer great views and the food offered was quite tasty too. Good selection of tasting flights as well.
We went for my birthday to hear the band and sample wine on August 16th. With only 2 wine servers and an under age cashier, service was slow for the large crowd, should have had at least 1 more adult serving wine. The grounds were lovely, the band was fun and 'curse of knowledge' red wine was very good.
Our experience was just ok. It was a bit busy which I expected for the BIG CRUSH weekend event. The wines were bold and dryer than we preferred. I was here in 2017 and not to much has changed.
The staff is Awesome, the wines were very from the dry red's to Melon White's

Excellent wine at an historic house from 1856! The wine tasting offers a variety of wines including a very good Chardonnay and a port. The tasting room has some historic artifacts in the entry and they also have a museum in the cellar. There are also several picnic tables to enjoy on the lovely grounds. A very fun experience!
As DJ Rockalot I recently performed for a wedding here, their first, and thought it was just such a great place for an event. Everything went well and everyone had a blast!
Start at Sobon and then head over to Shenandoah Vineyards. Great wines and great prices. When you start your tasting at Sobon ($5 tasting fee) you get a branded glass that you take to Shenandoah Vineyards and they waive their tasting fee. Sobon Estates has a super cool museum and vintage wine cellar you can explore. They have a lot of history and really cool information on Amador wine country. Sobon also has a lot of parking, picnic tables and space to lay out while you enjoy some wine.
We had a great time here. Delicious wines at very affordable prices. Teri, our tasting server, was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!
Such a wonderful, historical winery!!! The Dry Rose is perfect for summer and the museum is a must see!! Teri was great, very knowledgeable and fun to chat with. Thanks!
Very nice. Several old buildings hold antiques. The tasting room is nice sized with plenty of room. Paul presented their wines very well. Pice point is very reasonable. Nice place!
Historic winery is the oldest operating winery in California. Has several wines available for tasting. ChatGPT said the tasting would be free, but there is a $5 per person tasting fee. There are discounts available if you buy more bottles of wine, but you still pay for the tasting. The rose wine was a nice light summery wine and I liked the Barbera red wine. My wife liked the reserva version. They have trademarked the reZerve term.
Eherial, balanced, juicy, electrified, award winning, affordable wines and they serve a plethora of legit Old Vine Zin. A visit is 7 minutes from the busy Amador valley wineries; go. Also, their self guided wine museum is right there, with a photo op next to a 450 gallon wine oval. Sobon Estate has made quaffable wines for decades and decades, Terry and Paul in the tasting room are always welcoming.

One of my favorite winery’s to visit. Their ports are the best and it’s been sine 2017 I believe was the last time I got to make it since I moved out of state. Cheers 🥂
Deaver Vineyards has moved just down the road to the family's nearby property, the Amador Flower Farm. While they are still in the last stages of remodeling, the larger, more modern tasting room is now combined with the flower farm's plant selection. Browse the plants and gorgeous grounds while sipping a glass of your favorite wine, sparkling wine, or port. The covered patio has plenty of room for large groups and accommodates counter or patio wine tasting with more staff and extended hours. There are also snacks (including gluten free) in the cooler with alternate drink options. Also - GREAT NEWS! Pets on leashes are now welcome to enjoy a walk through the extensive grounds or a rest on the patio. Instead of turning left on Steiner when coming from Plymouth, turn right on Shenandoah School Road (directly across from Steiner) and follow the signs.
We just checked out their new location/tasting room for their grand opening and it was a hit! Love the covered patio and tons of seating out on the ground too. Excellent idea to combine with Amador flower farm! Of course, we come for the wine and their Sparkling wines and Ports are some of the best! The peach mango sparkling wine was delicious!! A++

Down to earth winery with outdoor seating. Bring a picnic and quarters to feed the ducks!
If you like ports or speciality unique wines then you're in for a treat here. They have tons of speciality sparkling wine with unique flavors like raspberry, almond, strawberry, and pomegranate. Don't worry though, if you're more into red wines they've got those too!
Visited Deaver Winery for the first time and was very impressed with their wines, ports, sparkling wines and the staff. Jared spent time going over the wines, great conversations and best of all, he didn't rush us through the tasting process. One of the best experiences we've had wine tasting. The grounds are beautiful. Many reasons to stop by Deaver Vineyards.
The staff were helpful and customer services goal. There wines were high quality.

Absolutely beautiful view and a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and informative with all the different wines in our tasting. We loved the charcuterie board too! We will definitely be returning in the future!
Our group was in town for a long weekend of wine tasting in Plymouth. We visited 9 wineries and every winery visit was great, except for Iron Hub. It was recommended by two people separately and so we expected a great wine tasting experience. Unfortunately it was just ok. I think it's just the stark contrast to the superb, friendly, and warm service that we were getting at the other wineries that is the problem here. The service from our hostess Ruth Ella was friendly but I think she wasn't very accommodating. Might be the winery's policy. We asked about other wines and were told that we can only try what's on our menu. At other places, they usually would let us try before buying and we usually buy a case of wine in the end to be shipped home. We did buy a bottle of their aglianico blend to try and purchased two of that to take home. We did meet the winemaker Spencer and his cute dogs. Spencer was really nice and chatted with our group for a bit. It's a beautiful winery with a sweeping vista but unfortunately we just felt like service wasn't all that great here.
We visited the winery on Saturday afternoon in fall. The tasting room was packed with people from a local event. However, the staffs were friendly and very accommodating. Hubby & I split a wine tasting since we weren't a big wine drinker. We tried Chardonnay 2021, Rose 2022, Barbera 2020, Esola Zinfandel 2020, and Cross Creek Zinfandel 2020. My favorite was the Barbera. They have limited indoor seating but plenty tables outdoor. The outdoor seating was very nice during that time. The view around the vineyard was beautiful too. We might come back another time when it’s not too busy.
Fantastic views from the tasting room! One of the best tasting rooms we have seen! Very nice Petite Sirah and Barbera. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, definitely a must-see if you’re in the area.
It was 20 miutes before anyone acknowledged us which was promted with one of our party of 4 asking the bartender if we could get waited on. We received 1 tasting and when we finished that, we waited another 10 minutes before a person in our party again went to them and told them we were leaving because we couldn't get service. And there were 5 people behind the bar! As the 4 of us walked out the door, 3 of the bartenders said thanks for coming, have a good day, things of that nature. We will not go back.
Best winery in Shenandoah! Great wines, the outmost attentive customer service. Treating their members as family. Their Proprietors Reserve Chardonnay is the best. 4 different Zinfandels, each with its own twist and bold flavour. Thank you for your hospitality and amazing views. We love Iron Hub!
Beautiful property and views, but extremely loud and crowded. We were there on a Saturday, and even with reservations, people were extremely crammed in. The live music was so loud you had to shout to have a conversation, I felt like I needed ear plugs. Better if you want a party vibe, but if you want to relax on a patio with wine, probably not your best bet.
Iron Hub Winery is a great smaller winery with fantastic wines made by the former winemaker of Lava Cap in the Apple Hill area. Iron Hub has a gorgeous tasting room that overlooks Amador County's Shanendoah Valley with a beautiful view of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The outside patio is very spacious with tables/umbrellas, chairs, that overlook the valley, is pet-friendly, and offers a nice selection of snacks and wines! Ask for Beth Jones, co-owner & wife of Tom Jones...the amazing & talented winemaker! A very special place of a family-owned vineyard!

My favorite winery in the area by a long shot. I love their wines, but the real key here is the people and place. The moment you walk through the door there is a different vibe. This is not a pretentious winery. It is one that you bring large groups to and let everyone enjoy themselves. Every wine tender you may get is easy going and fun to chat with. The grounds are beautiful and it's easy to get an area to setup with a bottle and hangout outside. I have brought more people to this winery than literally any other and will continue to do so. Could not recommend enough.
We have been long-time fans of this winery, but our most recent visit for our anniversary (it's been over a decade since we've been!) was so, so lovely. Hayley was so engaging and generous, the newer wines in our tasting were INCREDIBLE (hello, white Barbera!), and the grounds, as always, were beautiful. Go get you some wine here. It's iconic!
The grounds are gorgeous, the people are fabulous, and the wine is so delicious. Attended the Big Crush with a group of friends and had an absolutely wonderful experience 💖 I wanted to buy every single wine I tasted. I look forward to visiting again!!
This place is a gem 💎. Beautiful atmosphere and fantastic people working there. Pamela was so nice and friendly, so I would love to mention her name in my review. Unlike the Story vineyard, who can’t even bring a glass of water to your table, this place gives you a water as a first thing. Also this place offers a picnic area, where you may bring your own food and have a large variety of wines 🍷. Picnic tables are covered from the sun, so you’ll be safe. Great design work was done there as well. Highly recommend for visiting.
Paul, aka Cupcake, is always phenomenal! Ask for him and he’ll make sure you have a wonderful time. My favorite winery in the area by far, amazing service, views, and wine!
Such a beautiful winery! We had a weekday off so we visited here on Tuesday. Host was nice and gave a quite honest opinion. I recommend to try their sparkling wines. Peach flavor is my favorite! A little sweetness with coo sparks. I also tried strawberry sparkling wines but this one has a little more bitter taste compared to the peach one. Although it’s in the middle of the week, they have several visitors. Their garden is so beautiful and peaceful!
Beautiful winery with tons of award winning wines. Haley the tasting room manager was so helpful and knowledgeable about their wines. A must stop spot with authentic charm
I recently had the pleasure of visiting this winery, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped onto the picturesque vineyard, I was captivated by the beauty of the surroundings. The staff's warm welcome and their extensive knowledge of the wines they offered made the tasting truly delightful. The wines themselves were nothing short of superb. Each sip was a journey of flavors and aromas that showcased the winery's dedication to quality. I particularly enjoyed their red blends, which were rich and full-bodied, leaving a lasting impression. The ambiance of the tasting room was inviting and comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the wines. I left with a few bottles of my favorites, which have since become a cherished addition to my collection. This winery is a hidden gem, a place where passion for winemaking shines through every aspect of the experience. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable wine tasting adventure.

I went here for my first time wine tasting all the wineries in this area and found this place to be my favorite. I am actually not a fan of wine at all, reds or whites; however, when I tried their wine it went down smooth and was very tasty. It didn't have a bad after taste at all and I really enjoyed their wine. The customer service was great; they were nice and friendly. The art work on the walls were very beautiful to look at. I definitely recommend this place!! I will certainly be back!!
I really enjoyed my visit at Charles Spinetta Winery and Wildlife Art. The sweet wines are good and they have beautiful wildlife art displayed through out the tasting room. They also offer custom framing! The grounds are very pretty and they offer some outdoor sitting. The customer service is great. Definitely put this place on your list!
Absolutely my favorite winery. Their sweet wines have a low alcohol content which makes them even better. I have searched for other wines in many stores hoping I'd find something similar and after several years I find no one can compete with their sweet wines. In fact I never liked wine till I tasted theirs. As soon as they open for business again, I'll be at their door. Their tasting room has an abundance of lovely prints and paintings which are so beautiful and lucky for us some are used on their wine bottles.
The wine at Spinetta is unbeatable and unbelievable. I had such a great time stopping by with my brother even though it was a short pick up and go trip. Do not hesitate when considering this location it is top notch!
I like their sweet wines a lot. They also have an art gallery on the second floor.
A fantastic winery to visit, both for the winery and the beautiful art gallery located next to the tasting room. The wines are excellent and very reasonably priced, and they offer free tasting to find that perfect wine. The Zinetta is my favorite, a mildly sweet wine that is bull bodied and smooth. The art gallery makes a visit to Spinetta special. Beautiful limited edition lithographs that are masterfully framed. In addition to available art, both in limited edition and originals, Spinetta offers what I consider to the best framing service found anywhere. The detail and artistry that goes into their framing of prints is second to none. It's truly an art in itself. Picnic tables are available for those that bring food to the winery and it offers a great chance to just kick back for a while and enjoy the Amador scenery. Several shops in nearby Plymouth offer deli style lunches to go, and you have the option to bring your own food. What could be better on a nice day than a great outdoor lunch while enjoying fine wine. So you have it all here, an art gallery, wine tasting, and a picnic lunch opportunity in a park like setting. A great way to visit the wine country of Plymouth. Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday of each week.
I had the pleasure many years ago to tour this winery with a good friend (Virgil - Tool Shop, Jackson) I believe that the winery and art gallery were in their infancy at this time. The wine was excellent and the facilities were top shelf...For several years, we ordered the Fun & Yummy wine to be shipped to Ohio for our enjoyment...Much to our dismay, the Fun & yummy wine was in short supply for a year or two. Regardless, now that I have rediscovered the web site, I'll be checking back for more information on wine availability. If anyone gets a chance to drop in, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. regards Bill McCord MT Orab Ohio
We just participated in a vine tasting here. They have a great selection and their staff are very informed about their wine. Out of all the vineyards we visited today this was are favorite by far. I would absolutely recommend them!

We had a great time at Turley wine cellars. We went to the Shenandoah wine tasting area planning to drive around to different wineries, however we stopped here because it looked kind of happening, there was a special event going on with great food and music and we ended up spending the day here and had a really good time. The wine was really good with a specialty in Zinfandels but with a good selection of other wines as well. While we enjoyed the music and dancing, they served us very nice food with salad and goat cheese as well as a very tasty shrimp and chicken rice jambalaya dish. We had front row seats on a warm patio under the sun in front of live guitar music and singing and very much enjoyed dancing on the patio. The views from this patio were also beautiful and the ambience was fantastic. The staff came by often, providing us with different wine tastings and even some bonus tastings. Definitely a place to keep an eye out for when events are coming up. Definitely will try to come back especially when they are doing something special like they were on this day. But even if you just want to taste them, it is a good place to stop by.
This was the first winery we visited in Plymouth. Our hostess was Julia and she was very accommodating to our group. We felt very welcomed and she made sure we were comfortable outside. It's such a beautiful winery with a lot of outdoor seating. I wish it was warmer so we could enjoy sitting out there with the gorgeous view. Eventually we switched to sit inside due to the winds. She got us all seated at a large table inside the tasting room. We did not feel rushed. She gave us suggestions for other wineries to visit as well. We ordered a case of their wines to be shipped home.
We signed up for an event. My husband got an email, that it was cancelled. We drove here thinking we would just pick up and leave. We were surprised, to see the event going on as planned. They accepted our early reservation, since it changed to first come, first serve. Had room inside, which we prefer with it raining today. A good acoustic guitar and singer were playing. Wood stove pizza and delicious wine was poured. Our server Katie was experienced and very knowledgeable. This place has always been unique and surprisely fun.
Great atmosphere, and the sunset was amazing. The pizza by Flour and Flame is phenomenal.
This was one of our favorite places to go. We have enjoyed Turley wines for 20 years or so now. To learn it closed our local room was disheartening and we are concerned for all affected. Beautiful property. Per their Paso Robles location, closed permanently
I've been on their mailing list for years and we finally made it up to their newer tasting room near Plymouth. It used to be the old Karly tasting room I believe (don't quote me on that!). We had a lovely experience - our was our first stop of the day since we flew into Sacramento earlier that day. The service was lovely and they snuck a couple of bonus wines into our tasting since we've been good customers (or maybe because it looked like we needed it!). I always enjoy their wines and their hospitality. Definitely make a reservation since they get busy and can't always accommodate walk-ins.
Visited for Big Crush Weekend. The patio/atmosphere is great. Very relaxing and well shaded. Wines are decent, lighter reds.
Nice place for wine tasting. Friendly staff, chill atmosphere. Good variety of wine. Working by appointment. Also important: kids are allowed, which is not the case for some wineries in the US.

Amazing wine and hands down best customer service I have experienced. Great deals and the outdoor area has something for everyone, plus they are very family friendly.
We chose this winery for it's wonderful reviews but we didn't care for the wines all that much. We were greeted with a friendly check in and our host Riley was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and helped answer allot of questions about the area. I would give him 5*s for customer service.
I may try them again sometime, but was not impressed by how the tasting room was being run for the cru-zin in the vineyards event. There were some very nice cars, and the dinner station food truck is always great. I left my girlfriend and her brother out on the patio and poked my head into the tasting room to see if I could get an idea of what wines were on offer, i was asked if I was there with the car show, which I didn't really understand because the only available parking I am aware of was the $15 park in the dirt lot across the street they had set up for the car show. I was then handed a slip of paper with 2 options, red or white, not my favorite way to do a tasting but for an organized event I can understand that. The real issue presented itself when we came in to do the actual tasting, the woman who handed me the slip was gone, and the young lady actually pouring would not allow my girlfriend or her brother to do a tasting because they did not have the slip of paper. I'd already committed to a red tasting flight so I completed it, paid the tasting fee, which even that was more of a hassle than it needed to be, the person pouring had to get someone else to take my money, and then we left much earlier than we originally intended because it didn't sit well with us. Instead we ended up going over to Somerset and had a great time at a different winery's bottle your own event where we didn't have to pay for parking, they didn't have any weird arbitrary rules on tastings, the wine was beyond reasonably priced, and they provided free pizza.
Friday, 7/07/2023 - my GFs and I went to Terra d'Oro Winery in Amador County. Address is 20680 Shenandoah School Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669. We went wine tasting. I don't drink so doesn't wine taste with my GFs. But, upon arrival... Pros 1) plenty of parking in their winery. You park in the gravel and have to walk a little ways to the winery. It's a beautiful short walk. 2) they have a beautiful outdoor seatings in the back. 3) winery looked very clean. It's beautiful here! 4) they have lots of items you can buy inside. Clothing, wine, cheese, etc. 5) my friends said it's like $10 per person for wine tasting. But if you buy a wine bottle or lots of wine bottles, the fee goes towards it. 6) it was not crowded. 7) service was great! Staff was so nice and professional! 8) we sat outside. 9) there are 2 bathrooms outside. 10) the wine was good here. Several of my GFs bought a few bottles to go. Cons 1) none Conclusion I really like this winery. It's so pretty here. Lots of tables to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view. Staffs were so nice and attentive. They even took our girls group photos. The wine were great.
Had a wonderful time at TDO. Irene is always very knowledgeable and attentive in the tasting room. The wine was delicious as always. They had a sale on a case of GSM, so we brought that home along with our shipment. The weather was wonderful, so we enjoyed the patio and closed the place. I wished we lived closer, but it is a nice trip a few times a year.
Nice plot of land. My wife and I are avid wine collectors. We tried this place and were treated like we didn't belong. Three (2 white males and a female) were rude and ignored us as we tried to get a tasting. We wandered to the back of the tasting room to the other bar where two others (Hispanic women) were polite and apologized a few times for how the others were acting. It was a bit busy, but it was obvious the first three didn't want to deal with what they probably thought was "the help" (we're brown lol). We still bought some wine that was pretty good, but they missed out on consistent customers that routinely buy cases for our wine cellar. There are many other options in Amador County, you don't have to deal with rude or racist people at 99% of the other options.
A great find! Excellent Italian varietals, friendly people working hard to ensure a very memorable experience. Frank was our " host " and was great pouring and providing info about the winery. Great scenery and a very pleasing day.
Great wines, which is what we all want when going to wineries, but the employees are great also. They know their wines & when we asked a question that the person didn't know the answer, they found the person who did know. We had a great time & bought some even better wines.
