I had the most wonderful experience at VJB Winery while celebrating my and my mom’s birthdays with our group! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warmth and kindness, making us feel right at home. Our host, Kim, was fantastic – she not only took the time to educate us on the wines but was also incredibly patient and attentive to our needs. Maria, the owner, personally checked in to make sure everything was perfect, and her kindness truly stood out. Mike, the vice president, even came to our table to introduce himself and ensure we were enjoying our visit, which was such a thoughtful touch. The staff around our table were always making sure we were comfortable, especially since the sun kept shifting and making things a bit tricky. They were so considerate and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. The wine was so good – each pour was amazing and complemented the food perfectly. The deli staff were equally friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the ribs and pizza – they were incredible. The winery itself is stunning, with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Italy. We were so impressed that we became members, and we can’t wait to return! I highly recommend VJB Winery to anyone looking for a memorable experience with excellent wine, food, and service.
Cute petite little stop for lunch, wine, and chocolate! We dont drink but needed something to eat so was nice to travel through wine country and find a quaint little pet friendly spot offering snacks. Service was super friendly, Jenna and Sophia were very sweet and helpful in answering my 5000 questions. Highly recommended swinging by for a pit stop if you're in this neck of the woods
My wife and I did a wine tasting here with Courtney. Courtney was fantastic; described the history of the winery and explained the various wines perfectly. The winery is gorgeous with a real Italian feel to it. Great experience, thanks again, Courtney (and VJB)!
Came in from outta state was recommended for the food…. The food was about worth 10 cents. Had a pizza and bit into a dime in the pizza crust wasn’t compt any of the food only offered more to say the least I will not be coming back or recommending to anyone if you need a good winery to visit move on down the road to St. Francis Also was given excuse after excuse on how pizza is made as an explanation on why the dime was in there In the first place.
The venue and service is nice. The staff was friendly. The tasting pours for our group went a bit slower than we'd like and they do not comp any tastings for buying wine. At least that's what someone in our group was told. I can tell the wine is well made but I do not enjoy Italian varietals.
We had an amazing experience at VJB. Our group did the wine and pizza lunch tasting and it was wonderful. The wine was excellent and the pizza was top notch. They made our group feel so welcome and relaxed it was truly a treat. Don’t forget to try the gelato! I would highly recommend this winery to anyone touring the Sonoma area. It does not disappoint!!
VJB is one of my wife and I's new favorite wineries in all of Sonoma! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. Our server Bo gave us an incredible and warm hearted tasting experience, making us feel like fast friends. One thing that makes this winery unique is their incredible wood fire pizza, which is a family recipe made with fresh ingredients completely from scratch... some of the best pizza I've had in a long while! After our tasting and during our dining portion, several other servers stopped by our table to check on us and make us feel cared for. One of them even learned that it was our 17-year wedding anniversary and brought us a complimentary glass of prosecco. VJB offered us everything we would want in a tasting experience in wine country, taking us on a journey to Old Italy. It just may be our new go-to spot. Highly recommend!
This place from the moment we walked onto their property was amazing, a host immediately greeted us and gave us a walkthrough overview of what and where things are. We stopped in for a quick tasting and stayed for that and lunch. Beautiful patio area. I’m getting ahead of myself tho. We started in the tasting room and got a lot of great information and history from the gal ( whose name I’m sorry I forgot) and enjoyed everything we tasted. We decided to join their club and next ordered lunch, where we had the most amazing Arugala salad with a dressing that was really special, and a pizza. Jennifer was kind enough to include a jar of the dressing that we got today with our first shipment. We will definitely continue to order from them and visit of course whenever we go up there, we were visiting from Ventura Cheers to the staff for a wonderful experience Craig & Eugenia

Kunde Family Winery was a wonderful experience! The staff was very friendly and totally welcoming. We learned so much about the wines (all we tasted were fabulous) and the history from Jordan Kunde (5th generation winemaker). We very much enjoyed our visit to the winery and look forward to returning! I highly recommend a visit!
We stopped in too late for a tasting but they still poured us a glass to enjoy outside. They recommended we come back in the morning for a tour and tasting. We did and were so happy! Their caves are amazing and Ryan was so friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was fabulous. Definitely recommend stopping by!
The dog walk was fantastic and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts. Jordan Kunde had great stories to tell since he literally experienced them himself. They took very good care of us and our pets even offering 4 different kinds of dog water at lunch. I would definitely recommend and plan to do it again next year. Cheers!
Overall impression: good budget experience for those visiting Sonoma on a quick trip. Tip: make reservations in advance, if you can. Wineries across Sonoma tend to fill up quickly depending on time of year. Like so much in life, we all have our own preferences. This is especially true for wine. For me, the wine at Kunde is mediocre. Probably why they give each table a spittoon. I’ve been here a few times to make sure my opinion isn’t based on a single experience. The food and snack options are fairly run of the mill - nothing that makes Kunde stand out from the crowd. Cheese plates, chips, crackers, and the like. Sadly, not many options for vegans by way of food to enjoy with the wine. The estate is quite beautiful and is kept very nice. Every time I’ve been at Kunde the facilities have been clean and the staff very kind. There’s options for sitting outside on a patio, in a wine cave, and atop a mountain (so plenty of options for one to pick in terms of scenery). This is a commercial winery and it definitely feels like one. This isn’t the winery I’d take someone for a special date, event, or celebration. Kunde provides an atmosphere more appropriate for a casual crowd and agenda. If that’s the type of vibe you’re going for then this might be a good place for you! If you’re looking for wineries that offer more of an upscale feel and experience at a reasonable price then check out some of my other reviews.
We loved our trip and tour of Kunde Winery this past week! Reiner was a wonderful host and made our visit both fun and informative. The grounds and facilities there are beautiful. Oh, and the wines were outstanding. If you’ve been before, you already know. If not, I’d highly recommend you add Kunde to your visit list.
My experience of participating in a Kunde Mountaintop Wine Tasting was a dream come true. I loved every minute of it, including Ryan (our professional wine host) sharing so many details about the 5th generation property and wines. It was so very impressive and DELICIOUS.
We’ve been case members for a year now and recently we went to pick up our shipment and what started as a bad experience turned into a great day. That’s because of Sally. We checked in at the desk and let the staff know we had a pick up and directed us outside to the covered patio. We walked up to one of the multiple tasting bars, which had only 3 people standing at one chatting with wine in their glasses. The staff member was straightening up some items and when done, went to talking to the three people. Never acknowledged us. We stood there for 10 mins to give him an opportunity but then went back inside. That’s when we ran into Sally. She helped us with our pick up and convinced us to not cancel our membership. We enjoyed a glass of wine by the pond before leaving. And when we left, there was still only three people in the patio.
Kunde “Wine Dog Walk” is a must for wine enthusiasts with dogs! The morning started with a meet and greet type settings at the estate with the group going. The hike then went through vineyard blocks on the estate where the fall colors and the incredible weather were breathtaking! Kunde left no detail out at each well planned point to stop, take in the view, hear stories and history with 5th generation Jordan while enjoying wine tasting on our journey. They even had water for your pets at each stop! The hike ended with a delicious catered lunch, a final tasting and well deserved rest. The dogs were also able to “water taste” select estate water blends paired with dog treats!! Manny my golden 100% enjoyed all the treats and the 2025 bacon blend water. Thanks Kunde❤️ PS : Who knew chickens were involved in wine at all, “CS” shirts someday?! You have to go to get the inside joke it’s worth it!!!

Absolutely stunning grounds!!! Wine and champagne were 10/10! Jenny was the absolute best! We told her we were checking out places for our wedding and she congratulated us with a little glass of champagne. Sooo sweet! She gave us a tour and explained everything about the history of the winery - explained different options for our wedding. It was so kind of her to do that. Made our visit so amazing! Thank you Jenny!
Six college friends and I spent a very enjoyable couple hours here on a lovely August Sunday afternoon. The wines were delicious, the setting, really beautiful, and our sommelier was both gracious and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Thanks again Château St. Jean! Until next time.
Had an absolutely AMAZING experience doing the Chateau wine tasting with my sister today! Peter was so knowledgeable on every wine we tasted and also so much fun to talk with! We shared many laughs and felt right at home. It was a lovely afternoon - we felt like we could have stayed for the entire day. We had a small cheese board with our tasting which was delicious and after our tasting we stayed for a deli sandwich and a couple macaroons which were just as amazing as well! Sipping wine while overlooking one of the vineyards was fantastic. We will absolutely be back!
One of our favorite wineries visits we in Sonoma and Napa! Jessie our wine educator was simply wonderful and pleasant. The wines in the tastings were by far the best in any of the wineries we've visited. This is a smaller winery with a French touch, and the grounds were magnificent!
Chateau St Jean is a beautiful property, way better than I was expecting, looks like there is so many places to explore and taste, they have lots of tasting areas and the members area looks especially nice. Beautiful architecture and gardens on this property. The wine tasting with quin was very nice, he was informative, friendly and a great host. We very much enjoyed the wines, especially the estate viognier and a few or the reds. They have nice large bocce ball courts and the surrounding are idyllic. I think this is probably one of the nicest places to come, get a bottle of wine and to enjoy the grounds in yeh Kenwood area.
Nestled amidst the picturesque vineyards of Sonoma Valley, Chateau Street emerges as a true haven for oenophiles and aficionados of refined hospitality. This quaint yet exquisite establishment exudes an undeniable charm that effortlessly captivates visitors from the moment they step foot onto its cobblestone pathways. The allure of Chateau Street lies not only in its stunning architecture but also in the seamless fusion of tradition and modernity. The chateau's façade, reminiscent of Old World French estates, evokes a sense of grandeur, while its interior boasts contemporary elegance with tasteful décor and luxurious amenities. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with warm hospitality and a glass of fine wine, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience. The knowledgeable staff members are passionate about wine and eager to share their expertise, whether guiding guests through a tasting journey or recommending the perfect bottle to accompany a meal. Speaking of meals, the culinary offerings at Chateau Street are nothing short of exceptional. The on-site restaurant showcases the bounty of Sonoma's fertile land, with locally sourced ingredients taking center stage in every dish. From farm-fresh salads to decadent desserts, each bite is a celebration of flavor and craftsmanship. Of course, the true star of the show is the wine. Chateau Street boasts an impressive selection of varietals, ranging from robust reds to crisp whites, all produced with meticulous care by the estate's winemakers. Guests can partake in tastings, cellar tours, and even blending sessions, gaining insight into the artistry behind each bottle. Beyond wine and dining, Chateau Street offers a range of activities to indulge in. Whether strolling through the vineyards at sunset, unwinding with a spa treatment, or simply lounging by the pool with a glass of rosé in hand, there's no shortage of ways to relax and rejuvenate. In summary, Chateau Street, Jean, stands as a beacon of excellence in Sonoma's wine country. Its timeless charm, impeccable service, and commitment to quality make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a truly immersive wine experience. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or a curious novice, prepare to be enchanted by the magic of Chateau Street.
I am a wedding and event photographer in northern California. I have photographed in more than 100 venues and Chateau St Jean is one of my favorites for its beauty, history, wine, and great staff. If you're considering a wedding in wine country and you want some amazing character, check out Chateau St Jean. I highly recommend them!
We were really looking forward to our visit, but unfortunately the experience fell short. The setting was lovely, but our server named Susan was surprisingly rude and unwelcoming—especially toward children. On top of that the wine didn't live to its expectations. The winery was empty which pretty much says it all.

Ledson is a stunning winery that you honestly should visit. It’s can feel a little off the path but we are so glad we decided to make a last minute stop here. The grounds are stunning and the building is beautiful and feels very much like a castle. We really enjoyed the different tasting areas they had and they have this gorgeous outdoor area with a fountain facing the vineyards. There is plenty of parking here although I’m not sure if it’s the same during busy times. Ledson had some of the best wines that we tried during our entire Sonoma trip. They had excellent red wines that met several different styles and types and I don’t think there was a single one we disliked. Our server had a lot of information on the different wines we tried and even gave us some history on Ledson and how it all got started. I highly recommend you visit this winery! Insta: @TheShahLALand
Beautiful little winery hidden just north of Sonoma. Looks like an old castle, with beautiful grounds and tons of grapes. Small little gift shop but friendly staff, yummy food, and addicting wine chocolate fudge sauce! (If only it wasn't $30...) conner was very polite and hospitable, and gave my dog some ham. Yes they are pup friendly!! Bring your dog. We dont drink but it appeared more of a classical, fancy elegant wine tasting for the older crowds. Worth the stop!
The Ledson is absolutely exceptional! The staff is kind, helpful and accommodating. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Deidre and Olivia for helping me with my proposal. They made sure every step was carefully executed, from wine tasting to proposal. Although I had high expectations for Ledson, the team went above and beyond! I’m grateful for the Ledson family for making this memory happen. This place is a family favorite so we’ll definitely be back!
A well-landscaped haunted house vibe. They have a beautiful outdoor space where you can just enjoy a low-key picnic with wine and little snacks. I only tried their Grenache and it was okay.
The property and house are five stars, it's immaculate! The tasting itself was eventful in the wrong ways. Our host was way too comfortable to talk about insane topics that were not prompted in any way. Some things that were brought up: Bitcoin is racist, panty dropping wines, investment advice on gold and silver and how the dollar will fail, sharing pictures of knife collections, and just generally being unprofessional. As a group of younger men, we're probably the best situation for this stuff to be laughed off but I expect more out of a wine tasting.
Property gives me Downtown Abbey vibes, and the road that led to it was tucked away and quiet. However, it was perfectly as we made wine stops all the way to Healdsburg. The wines we sampled didn’t standout to me personally but the person who helped us out was professional though a bit standoffish.
Very impressed with the great estate and the wonderful staff that welcomed us! The tasting room is quite busy but the staff showed us around the beautiful home. It was a lovely experience to see this opulent and gorgeous building! It was a fantastic home. Tried the Ledson Zinfandel for lunch and it was so delicious!
Ledson was by far my favorite winery that we visited this trip (🤫 don’t tell the others!) The grounds were pristine, the wines (especially the reds) were top notch, and it’s a beautiful castle without being overrun by tourists. We had time with Pablo during the tasting where he was able to give us more of the background of Ledson and the family and worked with our individual tastes to find the wines that we loved enough to buy! Overall, it felt like a more personalized experience rather than a tasting factory just pumping people out. Although off the beaten path of most itineraries, I highly recommend the detour!

We had the best wine tasting and views today! Mike was so helpful and kind, the grounds were meticulously kept and beautiful, and the wine was outstanding. Very quiet and serene. Such a great way to spend our morning. Highly recommend!
We enjoy chardonnay and found the very best at Landmark. They do have other wines but our search was for chardonnay. Our sales associate Nancy was very helpful and personable. I highly recommend this winery for both reds and whites.
We had a lovely time wine tasting at the Landmark Vineyards, such an amazing place. Danna went above and beyond for us. If you happen to go there, you MUST try the Popcorn with some wine. My favourite combo ! Thanks Danna and The Team
I took my wife on a date wine tasting at Landmark Vineyards and we had a fantastic time! The staff were super friendly, the grounds were beautiful, and of course the wine was amazing. We especially liked the Sangiacomo Chardonnay -- so tasty and crisp on a hot, sunny day! We also loved the pond and gardens -- there were lots of bright flowers in bloom, and the views of Sugarloaf State Park behind the vineyard were great.
Again thanks to North Bay Wine Tours for showing me this awesome winery! landmark Vineyards have a lot to offer. Gorgeous wines, tranquil landscapes nice little pond and lots op little sittings to choose for your preferred way of doing it.. weather you introvert or extrovert, I assure you, you will find exact comfort you are looking for.. and it’s dog friendly!
Lovely place for a wine tasting. The landscaping and gardens are really beautiful, and it was relaxing to sit outside and drink their delicious wines. Our dog enjoyed jumping in the pond. 😃
We were lucky enough to have Grandpa Jon make reservations last Saturday at Landmark's Kenwood Estate. The winery's idyllic location in the heart of Sonoma Valley makes it a must-visit destination for wine lovers and we could not wait to visit. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Anna, who provided a warm welcome and guided us through the wine-tasting process. The tasting room we had reserved was cozy and intimate, with large windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains. A hearty charcuterie board accompanied our wine testing and gave us several amazing palette cleansing options. One of the highlights was the Beatles playing on a vintage record player. Vibes! The wine selection was impressive, featuring a range of varietals that highlight the unique terroir of Sonoma Valley. Guests can choose from several different tasting options, including a classic tasting that features Landmark's signature Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, or a more in-depth tasting that explores the winery's limited-production and reserve wines. Anna was extremely knowledgeable and was happy to provide insights into the winemaking process and offer recommendations based on guests' preferences. She is definitely passionate about her craft and was eager to share her love of wine with us. In addition to the wine tasting, Landmark Vineyards offers a variety of experiences to enhance visitors' enjoyment of the winery. Guests can take a tour of the vineyards, participate in a food and wine pairing, or simply relax on the scenic patio with a glass of their favorite Landmark wine. Overall, the Saturday afternoon wine tasting experience at Landmark Vineyards in Kenwood, California, was a wonderful way to spend a leisurely afternoon. The picturesque setting, delicious wines, and friendly staff starting with Anna combined to create a memorable experience for us. Thank you Anna and staff at Landmark Vineyards.
We had a awesome time yesterday at landmark vineyards. We booked the bocce and Wine experience ($60 per person, $40pp for members) this also included a charcuterie plate, which was a little undersized for 4 people. The tasing experience was nice and relaxed and we had a great time playing bocce ball with the excellent weather on Monday (presidents day) we very much enjoyed the wines and their Pinots were great. There is a lot of areas to walk around and enjoy on that beautiful property, it's a good place for groups of many sizes

We only stopped at one winery in the valley but this place was an absolute treat. Unique experience tasting wine underground in a beautiful atmosphere. Fabulous wines and such amazing staff. And also dog friendly and so very cold! If you are looking for somewhere to go for an unforgettable experience here it is!
We came here last month (Feb 2025) and we had an incredible time! The environment, atmosphere and decor was stunning along with great tasting wine. The Star Wars art work was fascinating and fun to look at. Courtney hosted us and she was so sweet and knowledgeable. She was even nice enough to laugh at all of my dad jokes 😏 We’ll definitely come back again with the hopes that Courtney will be there for us!
Five star! The cave was soooo cool! Such a great experience. The organic wine was amazing. They happened to also have locals selling art, food, soaps on the day we visited so we were able to wine taste and shop! Most of our group signed up for their monthly wine membership as well! Thank you Deerfield for an excellent day!
Gorgeous view, nice wines, and a cool cave. Add this to your list of places to stop when you’re in the area.
My wife and I have been members at Deerfield Ranch Winery for well over twenty years or so now, and it’s been a great relationship. We would visit the tasting room a couple of times a year, then we collect our shipment and buy anything that tasted particularly well. We were always leaving with extra bottles.
Shout out to Ben and Staff at Deerfield Ranch Winery ! Thank you, Ben for taking very good care of my ladies the past week ! Even Baby enjoyed her first ever Winery ! When things get warm in the valleys an exceptional cave tour is always right on time ! Carol Lynn really enjoyed her visit and as a Winery owner in the state of Washington, that says a lot ! Well done guys !
Fabulous wines and great staff. Our introduction was at a comedy performance held on the crushpad last weekend. The show was great made even better with the wine! We had Syrah, Pinot, Sauv Blanc and bought a bottle of Port. Highly recommend!
This place is a fantastically unique experience, walking through a long production cave filled with wine barrels. The tasting room is a cool 60 degrees and the ambience is incredible. If you get lucky enough to talk with Tom, you'll have a very enjoyable experience. Fully recommended.

We hadn’t planned to visit Kenwood Vineyards — we were simply driving through and were drawn in by its stunning beauty. And wow, we are so glad we followed that instinct. It turned out to be the perfect stop — we ended up staying for several hours and loved every minute of it. The wines were absolutely delicious — smooth, rich, and full of flavor. We especially enjoyed the Merlot, Cabernet, and Zins — each one was a standout. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was our host, Farideh. She was incredibly welcoming, warm, and engaging, sharing wonderful stories and going out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable. Farideh made sure we were cozy, bringing us blankets and warming up the heat towers so we could fully enjoy the beautiful outdoor seating. She even brought out games for the kids, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience feel even more special and family-friendly. Kenwood Vineyards was the right place at just the right time — beautiful, relaxing, and full of heart. A spontaneous stop that ended up being one of our favorite memories from the trip. Highly, highly recommend!
Visiting from St. Louis and staying in Sonoma and this was my favorite place. Fantastic wine tasting and wonderful staff. Craig our wine steward was perfect!
We came from Paso and unbeatable were shocked from the Napa/Sonoma region prices for tasting. Kenwood is on a lower price point of this region price range but what drove us here is wines they offered. Varietals are what we prefer and we decided to give it a try. While most of the wines were more acidic than our liking, what really drove experience down is that person who was pouring wine was here just to pour wine. We had to ask all the questions in order to get any information. How was it aged, where was it sourced from, what is this winery relationship with winery you are sourcing from, what varietals you have on a property, who is your winemaker, how long this winery has been on this property, etc. Unfortunately I didn’t feel their pride in the product, maybe we didn’t get lucky, maybe it’s the norm here.
As a local, I tend to avoid the bigger names, but finally stopped by here and was very pleasantly surprised. Love the atmosphere, the sommelier was fantastic, and the wine was very good across the board (and less expensive than similar quality in Napa).
Hometown named Kenwood Vineyards have some great red wines, it’s just a shame that when we arrived the server didn’t seem as though they wanted to be there. Luckily the wines were fantastic and we still had a good time going through the wines they were tasting.
I took a girls trip to California and we went to all types of winery’s. Kenwood Vineyards is one of my favorites! We had a great time thanks to Lynn. Lynn was great! She went all out for us. The outside was gorgeous, and the wine was great!
Greatest experience in Sonoma. Really feel the passion of the ladies working here. Fun, inviting, wonderful personalities, great outdoors. Wish more wine tasting experiences were like this. At the end of the day, people remember the experience rather than the wines so make that work! And LOVE the artwork on their labels.
Beautiful barn setting for outdoor tasting and indoor (if it’s open). The grounds are pretty and the views are very relaxing. The service was great. The wine is good but not the best. 😬 but still super nice and great to visit.

Beautiful park. Amazing trails for hiking and trail running. Even a waterfall trail. Interesting planet walk with planets spaced out across 5km showing how big the solar system actually is. State Park, so Sonoma Regional Parks pass does not work. Need the State Park pass. Or $10 one-day entry. Day use picnic tables. Great camping here too.
Great hike offering great views of Sonoma valley. Some signs that are still out say some of the trails are closed but they were open when you hiked to them. Very fun way to spend half a day in Sonoma!
Gorgeous park that is great for tent campers or small RVs. The rangers were very friendly and informative. The trails are beautiful so plan on doing some of the hikes that lead from the day use areas here. If you are RVing make sure you leave time to come from the North or South on Route 12....or else you will be going over some extremely winding narrow roads from Oakville area. Many of the campsites are incredibly beautiful but not level for a vehicle so choose wisely if you need a flat driveway. The showers are coin operated and even though there were hardly any campers, they were freezing cold.
A hidden gem in Sonoma. Hiked to the summit of Bald Mountain. It's a 3 mile trek all up hill or 4 miles if you take the less steep option. Superlative views.
Top favorite places to escape to. It’s quiet on the trails. Campgrounds can be lively but a 10pm shut up order helps enjoy the rest of the night. If you see a golf cart heading to your site and you are rowdy, I bet it’s 10pm. The park hosts are awesome. I was helped by Kari and Sydney. Both were detailed in their information and availability. Kari is like this awesome Mom who puts things, pets, people back on track without anyone really noticing. She’s the iron fist holding a daisy. Sydney is energetic, almost always smiling. I’ve seen her deal with difficult situations that were not so easy to fix. She’s a golf cart warrior and her pug is the cutest (I personally don’t enjoy pugs but …. I do now!). His name is Biscuit Smushy Booska Wolf. He can run faster than any other animal that I’ve seen that close to the ground. Oh and the park 👌🏻 gorgeous place. Always has been.
This is an easily accessible park with a number of hiking trails as well as an observatory. A popular, and easy, hike is to the seasonal waterfall along Sonoma Creek. In 2025, spawning salmon were seen for the first time in many years. For those looking for a longer hike, there are multiple trails leading to the top of Bald Mountain. The reward for tackling this steep climb is a wonderful 360 view of Sonoma, Napa, Marin, and Contra Costa counties. Stargazing is poplar due to low levels of light pollution. And there are often events at the observatory.
Beautiful park with many amenities! Recommend going during the spring to get full effect of the Watterfall!
Curly headed sweetheart (with pretty earrings) at the gate gave us awesome hike recommendations & genuinely just made our day. We had a great conversation & cant wait to go back. Everything was clean & the gift center had so much to show and teach (hardly any snacks though- very sad and hungry after our first hike). The gift center staff was too busy to give us the knowledge on wildlife we craved (i think this other older lady in the store was training someone & having a bad day). Either way, would love to go back & take that hike. Hope the gate lady gets a raise and a hug! :)

We went to a lot of great restaurants while we were in the Napa/Sonoma area, but my fiancée and I both agreed this was our favorite meal of the whole trip. The food was incredible and all of the wine pairings were spot on. I’m a pretty picky eater but I tried everything and loved it all. We really enjoyed getting to talk to Chef John during our meal, he was great. Will definitely come back when we’re in the area!
The Mayo Reserve room food and wine pairing is an exceptional experience and one of the best food and wine pairings in Sonoma County. We recently enjoyed their 7-course pairing with beautiful wines, delicious food, and Chef John’s unpretentious and accessible explanations. Many places offer food and wine pairings of similar quality for more than twice the price, and others will offer you cheese and maybe salami for the same price. Mayo hits a sweet spot and we try to go back every time their menu changes.
I visited the Mayo Family tasting room back in July of this year and had an amazing Food & Wine pairing experience curated by Chef John. The food was excellent and the wine even better. My girlfriends and I would definitely visit again the next time we are in Sonoma. A 10/10 experience! Thanks Chef John!
My husband I were here yesterday. From the moment you step into the Mayo Reserve Room( small but cozy), the experience is nothing short of spectacular. Executive Chef John sets the tone with his warm and professional greeting, immediately making you feel like a valued guest. His enthusiasm and passion for food and wine elevate the entire tasting journey. The tasting and pairing event is thoughtfully curated, blending exquisite wines with perfectly paired dishes. Chef John’s explanations of the wines and their complementary food pairings are both educational and engaging. His deep knowledge and ability to describe flavors and aromas in a relatable way make the experience enjoyable for both wine novices and aficionados alike. Each pairing highlights the artistry behind the selection, showcasing how the flavors of the wine enhance the culinary creations and vice versa. Whether it's the delicate balance of a brut and white wine with a light watermelon salad to creamy dish or the robust depth of a red paired with a savory entree, every combination is an exploration of taste. The ambiance of the Mayo Reserve Room complements the experience, providing a cozy yet refined setting that encourages you to savor every moment. The attentive Chef John ensures that every need is met, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the flavors and stories behind each pairing. Overall, the Mayo Reserve Room tasting and pairing is a must-try for anyone who appreciates the fine art of food and wine pairing. The impeccable hospitality, exceptional pairings, and Chef John’s expertise create a memorable experience that lingers long after the final sip. And of course, all the wines that we tasted come home with us plus several extra bottles for the family in Southern California.
Delicious food and wine pairing with a chef that is truly a delight to chat with. Chef John offers very informative, but also down to earth insights about wines, the wine industry, and food in general. He has a fun and engaging personality. The food was creative and rich with flavor. I'll definitely come back to try the seasonal menu changes! Price and value are outstanding in comparison to other wineries nearby
The seven different meals with seven wine pairings were AMAZING! Each wine enhanced the flavor of the dishes perfectly, making both the foods and the wines incredibly enjoyable. The Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon were our favorites. It was a highly satisfying time with my parents. Ann welcomed and guided us was exceptionally passionate, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Chef John also skillfully introduced the delicious dishes, allowing us to thoroughly enjoy the lunch. I love to recommend this place to all my family and friends!
My family and I really enjoyed the Tapas & Wine Pairing we did with Chef John at the Mayo Reserve Room. The 7-course tapas menu was delicious, and the portions were generous. Chef John did an incredible job of explaining how the various aromas & notes in each of the wines complimented different elements in each tapas course. He served several unique wines from their reserve collection, and we liked them so much that we ordered some to be shipped home! We did a total of 8 different wine/food pairings during our trip to Sonoma/Napa, and this one was our favorite. Thank you, Chef John for sharing your knowledge with us, and for creating such an enjoyable experience!
This review is long overdue - Chef John really rolled out the red carpet for me and my fiancé to celebrate our engagement! When I initially inquired about reservations at the Reserve room on labor day, I was concerned that due to it being a holiday they would be closing early. However, Chef John generously stayed open for a late lunch to accommodate our schedule (we were driving in from out of town and unable to make the earlier time slots advertised). Boy am I glad I asked! The food was exceptional and both my fiancé and I agreed on par with what we had enjoyed for dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant just a few days prior, and at a quarter the price! The service was phenomenal, and the 7 dishes we tried each were paired with perfect wine pairings! Chef John even inquired about my fiancé's favorite type of wine when I made the reservation, and had brought over Riesling from the winery even though it was not on the pairing menu. (The winery is at a separate location a few miles away, so this had to be done in advance and was so incredibly thoughtful.) The next time we visit Sonoma, we will definitely be enjoying another lunch at the Mayo Reserve Room!

Our visit was perfect! We were already familiar with B.Wise but had never been to their tasting room before. Our wine tasting experience with Evan was wonderful. His friendly customer service, hospitality and knowledge of the wine and vineyards demonstrated his education on the topics. He brought out maps to help us better understand the areas the grapes came from. The house is quaint and very special due to Rhonda's special touches. Excellently priced wine bottles, took several home! Very pleased to find a wine club that has only two shipments a year. Looking forward to our next visit!
Wonderful experience, gorgeous estate, fabulous wine! We had the opportunity for a tasting at the Estate. Absolutely beautiful. Intimate experience in the unique, stunning tasting room. Maggie made the visit special. We all learned so much and her relaxed style made it incredibly fun. She listened to our feedback and provided options for each of us. I will have lovely memories as I enjoy my bottles at home. This was one of my top choices to visit based upon reviews, photos, etc and it exceeded expectations.
Beautifully intimate tasting experience with a perfect balance of sophistication and warmth. The cave setting is stunning, and the staff make you feel like a friend rather than a guest. Every pour—from the Pinot to the iconic Cabernet—was thoughtfully presented and absolutely exceptional. A true hidden gem in Sonoma that captures both elegance and authenticity.
If you’re searching for an unforgettable winery experience in the US, look no further. Nestled in one of the country’s most picturesque wine regions, B. wise Vineyards truly sets the standard for excellence. From world-class wines to warm hospitality and breathtaking views, every aspect of the visit is exceptional.
“I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful property and was impressed from start to finish. The setting itself is stunning—peaceful, welcoming, and perfectly maintained. The wines were exceptional, each with distinct character and depth, making the tasting experience both enjoyable and memorable. What truly stood out, however, was the staff. Every person I encountered was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever being intrusive. Their genuine hospitality created an atmosphere that felt both elegant and relaxed. Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy outstanding wines in a beautiful setting, guided by a team that clearly cares about making each guest feel special.”
An unforgettable Sonoma experience! B Wise Vineyards is stunning, the people are genuinely warm and welcoming, and the wine is absolutely spectacular! Every detail made this visit truly memorable.
B.Wise wines are delicious and so enjoyable to drink at every level. Their tasting rooms are so special and the staff so obviously love their jobs and product. The decor makes just being in the various tasting room a fun occasion. We walked through all the spaces admiring the fun art and details. I recommend B.Wise to all friends heading to Sonoma and Napa. A Win win in experience and delicious wines!
We visited the tasting room today and we're fortunate to have been greeted by Maggie. She made us feel at ease, as she shared her vast knowledge of wine! And what a sense of humor she has! You guys are lucky to have her on your team. We love your wine! Maggie, make that bumper sticker 😂!!!

My friends and I did the " All things Italian" tasting experience, and it was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had at a winery! So fantastic. Brilliant food and wine pairings, and absolutely beautiful wines. The staff are also just amazing!
Pairing tastings at Muscardini, especially with Karen, who is a master of food and wine pairings, are tremendous. This was probably our 6th pairing including 3 virtual ones from home. Our friends who joined us, both on the virtual ones in Ohio, and here, love them as well. We have always been amazed at how certain tastes really bring out the wine flavors.
We stopped by as they were on the Sonoma wine pass. Everyone one there was extremely welcoming and informational. We learned about grapes we didn't know about and had lovely conversations. Their wine is exceptionally good! A beautiful location and a must visit experience!
This place was great stop on the side of the road, Our server Nicole was lovely and patient and I love how she explained all the details, the highlight for me for “Tesoro” . If you are in the area and like reds I recommend taking a stop here and a ++ they take the wine pass so a great deal. Enjoy
Went for a wine tasting earlier this year and had a fantastic time here. The wine samples were good, the atmosphere was really chill, and there was no pressure to buy anything. It was amazing weather and they had plenty of outdoor seating plus some shaded seating if you wanted. Would absolutely go back.
Bethany was a tasting host genius. She suggested some fantastic wines for our specialty tasting and kept us guessing the whole time about what was next!
A nice little micro Winery, even though the wine did not suit my tastes, it's probably because I don't know great wine. They have won many awards. I tasted their Grappa, it was excellent! A large front deck and a pleasant backyard make a perfect environment for tasting.
My friends and I visited as part of a winery tour and it was a lovely stop. The wines were delicious and they had charcuterie boards for sale. The only negative, the property seems to have a wasp issue (they also love the charcuterie). Aside from that, would definitely recommend.

Yummy wines, great outdoor area that is covered and has a fireplace. They have a sparkling Shiraz (what?!) that was so unusual but delicious! Apparently the owner is one of the founders of Burning Man which explains the beautiful and eccentric art you can find around. One of the employees was telling us that they lost their tasting room and wine cellar in the fires last year! So devastating. But they are rebuilding and have this smaller tasting room open. I really enjoyed the wines here and would definitely go back!
Lovely winery, great knowledgeable staff, convenient location next to a gastropub and other places if you want to eat something substantial before or after tastings. Fun events too, and they do pairings by reservation. Always a fun time 🍷
Wonderful experience and wine! Brooke was so great and made an already delicious tasting so much fun. Very relaxed and beautiful setting. Can't wait to make it back and SO excited to drink all the wine we brought home!
My wife and me first visited Paradise Ridge tasting room in Kenwood where we were blown away by Annette and Brianna's great customer service and what an experience we had tasting. We had such a awesome experience this was our first wine club we joined. We also stop by the Winery in Santa Rosa, what a great view and beautiful grounds. Thanks for shipping all our wine purchases home for us.
At this point, this is BY FAR my favorite Sonomy winery. Both their Kenwood and Santa Ross (on top of the hill) tasting room are worth visiting - and not just one visit. The most fun and friendly atmosphere we've ever experience at a winery. And, of course, awesome wines too!! Ode to Joy and Champane Shiraz are out of this world.
As a newcomer to the world of wine I was slightly nervous to sit down and participate in a tasting but the staff here could not have been more welcoming. He guided us yhroith the lighter wines and built up towards the heavier boddied ones. I could not have asked for a greater experience.
Great boutique winery, good variety of styles to fit any palette. If you like zin, the Convict is by far the best I've ever had.
Really love these wines. I miss there Russian river valley location but the Kenwood tasting room is nice.

This is by far the best wine tasting experience I've ever had. Living in San Francisco, I have visited wineries all over Napa, Sonoma and Russian River. Wine tastings often include going inside a crowded tasting room. At MacLeod's you will get a tour of their vineyard, weather permitting you may sit under an oak tree on the property and if you're lucky you'll meet the one who made his dream come true, George MacLeod. This gorgeous vineyard has incredible views and the people you meet here are just wonderful. Oh and they have award winning wines:) They operate by appointment only so be sure to give them a call to schedule your visit. You will love it!
I have been coming to the Sonoma Valley for years. During that time I have taken many, many, wine tours and more wine tastings than I will admit to. Over those many years by far the best and most informative tour and wine tasting experiences I have enjoyed have been found at two locations, one at VJB winery and the other at the MacLeod family vineyard. At MacLeod, while you sit outside around a table talking to the MacLeod family and tasting their excellent wine you will be within feet of the grapes which go into many of their wines. The outdoor setting and view is breathtaking. When you are there be sure to ask George, the patriarch of the family and co-founder, with his wife, of the winer, y to tell about the horse his grandfahter rode during the civil war. To a civil war buff it is awesome to talk to George who is old enough to have spent time with his grandfather and other veterans and heard their war stories. Just an added benefit of a wonderful wine experience. .

This was our second time visiting St. Anne’s Crossing and we had a wonderful time. My husband and I enjoyed the tasting and had great service from Scott and Mark. Scott was very knowledgeable, took time to sit down and tell us about the wines, how to taste them, and other fun facts. Cute outdoor patio area as well as inside space. We would love to visit again!
Current tasting menu featured along with front patio. The back patio offers a much better vineyard view. This is a great hidden gem in Kenwood. With so many large architecturally driven properties surrounding it, you’ll find the perfect boutique winery experience here. Must see location for Zinfandel lovers. Laid back and down to earth location. Outside food and picnics are allowed which is a huge bonus. Local eateries offer online ordering so it’s convenient. Richard was an amazing host!
My husband and I had an amazing time here. We tried 6 wines when we were here. Our favorite is Reserve Tripi Primitivo. They also have good deals in their membership. The most amazing part is how Barbara made it memorable for us. She was very kind and patient in all of our inquiries. She's very knowledgeable about wines and the area. It feels like home. The view is very nice, specially in sunset. Thank you Barbara for the personal card. We hope to be back soon.
Phenomenal wines. He have won 2 double gold medals. One of my clients planned his trip cause he loved their wine so much
Had a great time with some friends in the back patio. Zack provided great service! He was very welcoming and have lots of information!
The wines are great and all but the best part about this winery is Richard. Hands down. Pay him a visit. He makes you feel like family. The sweetest guy and very entertaining. L-O-V-E Make sure you ask for him when you come in for your tasting and their wine club perks are really exceptional. If you’re looking for a laid back and not pretentious vibe, stop here.
Richard made our day. His knowledge and passion for the wines he poured was inspiring. We were made to feel welcome and right at home. The beautiful environment and the wines were top notch from start to finish.
We had a great wine tasting with Zach! He was awesome and had great interaction with our group!

We love it here. This is our 3rd time and every time we come to Sonoma...this is a gold stop for us! Chuck is a wealth of information if you're into learning about wine. This is all secondary to their delicious Chardonnay - PS I'm not a chardonnay fan and tend to enjoy it here. But their points are by far the best!!! I lastly appreciate places that give back and this winery works with non-profits. Drink to serve! Highly recommend it. It's a good first stop where you can relax and be leisure!
La Rochelle is a little cute Winery. It was free which is nice. The setting was cute and intimate. Our host was great and so was the wine. You will pass it if you’re not looking out for it. When you’re pulling up it may not look like you are in the right spot, but you are.
Amazing setting! The wines are fantastic. They focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. They offer several variations of each and they are really tasty. Just enjoying the outside space makes it worth the visit, with almond trees and chickens walking around it is really relaxing. The owners son was our guide and he was fantastic. He answered all of our questions and made suggestions without lecturing to us. He was very down to earth and friendly but clearly very knowledgeable. I would visit again.
We had a lovely time here. Excellent wines, small batch winery. Had a great Chardonnay and several fine reds. Played some badminton and wandered in the small backyard with chickens and koi. And yes, we joined the club and bought a case. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Found a little hidden piece of paradise here! We visited La Rochelle as part of the Platypus Tour and we were blown away by their down to earth hospitality, comforting and inviting setting, and spectacular Pinot Noirs! Honestly some of the best Pinots I've ever had, and the varietals were just as impressive. They clearly take a lot of care in crafting their wines as they were simply superb. We will definitely be visiting again!
Do you have a secret that you cherish between you and your closest friends? Yeah? Us too. It’s La Rochelle. Pinot Noir to compete with the best in the world, sparkling wine that you want to dunk your face in that it smells so wonderful and they produce a Pinot Meunier. I mean. Come on. And I haven’t even started to talk about the team. Wow. They put on parties. Chuck, Maggie, Jesse, Jack … the whole team makes you feel so welcome. Honestly. I can’t say enough great things about them all. Get there before their membership fills up :)
Honestly, this was an incredible experience. We had the wine blending while there and Ryan was everything you could hope for in someone presenting wines. He was incredibly kind, personable, and well versed on wines in general. Out of all the wineries, he made our experience the best. We left and were talking about how much we loved it several hours later. Plus, they have the cutest chicken who is named Nugget!
Experienced wine maker - great little hide away - highly recommended - as others have mentioned the Pinot Noir here is very good

Wow what an incredible experience! We enjoyed the wine & food pairing at Hamel in their cave. This experience was truly a treat! Their team is amazing, incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. We enjoyed our tour of the cave followed by a perfectly curated 5 course tasting menu. If you’re looking for an amazing experience while in Sonoma this is certainly it.
Hamel was our favorite winery out of our Sonoma/Napa trip! James was our guide and he made the experience great. He was attentive but also gave us space to enjoy our time together. Love that their wines are organic. Their process was the most interesting to hear about. We enjoyed the bites, tasting and the walk around the property and caves. We’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely stunning winery! Our group had an amazing time on the terrace - peaceful, beautiful scenery matched with great wine. Jocelyn was absolutely fabulous and so accommodating!!! Could not recommend more.
We had the Chef's experience and it was absolutely jaw-dropping. The wines by themselves were already incredible but with the pairing it was elevated to another level. Our host, Richard, also made the experience even better by being knowledgeable, passionate and kind. It was the highlight of our trip to Sonoma and Napa valley. We highly recommend this vineyard.
We had an outstanding visit to the Hamel Family Winery! Robert was our guide and has a thorough knowledge of every aspect of Sonoma and Napa Valley wines and what makes a great wine. The facility is beautiful and absolutely first class. Our tasting room overlooked the vineyard and we were shown every aspect of the wine making process, including their custom aging caves, cement and wood barrels. We even got to watch some of the harvested grapes being processed since it was late September (they were delicious!). Robert clearly explained how Hamel carefully grows and selects grapes for each type of wine, how they study every vineyard’s soil and how dry-farming makes their wines special. We even got a special visit from George Hamel, the winery’s founder who clearly takes great pride in producing a superior product that can be tasted in each sip. Don't miss the Hamel Family Winery if you are in Sonoma!
What a wonderful experience we had at Hamel Family Winery. This winery typifies the more laid-back vibe that is Sonoma Valley. We took a tour and tasting, escorted by our host Robert (a wine expert and certified sommelier ) He was friendly, attentive and hugely knowledgable about the winery history, the family, and wine in general. Everyone was fascinated by the dry farming technics. Doubtless - the Hamel wines themselves are some of the best in the business - their cabs are dark, elegant, and textured. Don't be afraid to try the Genache - it was outstanding. I would highly recommend a visit, tour and tasting at the Hamel Famiy Wines. Well done George, Pam and John!
I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience at Hamel Wines, where my wife and I celebrated our 16th anniversary on February 24. From the moment we called to book our visit, Ashley's warm and accommodating nature set the tone for a truly unforgettable experience. Our server, Robert Whistler, was outstanding, and James added to the exceptional service. We enjoyed a delightful bottle of your 2018 Pinot Noir, which was perfectly complemented by the intimate lobby seating area with breathtaking views of the vineyards and Sonoma Valley mountains. The ambiance was surreal, and we felt so relaxed and happy to be there. We decided to indulge in a bottle of your reserve Sauvignon Blanc, which exceeded our expectations. The wine was exquisite – crisp, light, and refreshing, with perfect chilling. Robert and James's service was top-notch, and Ashley checked in to ensure everything was to our liking. I would give Hamel Wines 10 stars if I could! The experience was even better than our first visit, and we're already looking forward to returning. A huge thank you to Ashley, Robert, and James for making our anniversary celebration truly special. We can't wait to come back and enjoy more of your exceptional wines."
Emily was an absolute sage delight. The Chef's table was gorgeous. Everything was thoughtfully curated and exceptional. Truly a innovatuve, special vineyard. You will not be disappointed.
