Fun place to visit $5 fee to enter light house and climb to the top. Staff were helpful. Gift shop and info graphics. Clean bathrooms. Handicap parking. Beach right next total the light house is filled with rocks. Short walk from parking to beach. Betsie light house was paved and wheelchair accessible, they even have a chair lift! The beach is not accessible by wheelchair unless you have off road or can walk the person down.
Breath taking view from inside the Lighthouse. Seeing Lake Michigan from the top of the Lighthouse was amazing. Water was gorgeous. Very informative tour and the entire staff was super friendly. Visit if you get the chance.
Fun little lighthouse you can go into for a small fee, I saw a couple get engaged on the concrete area below the lighthouse when I visited, good luck to them! There’s a small beach here as well with free public access but most of the shoreline here is residential, still, I’d recommend it as a stop on a sightseeing trip, it’s not an all day destination though!
Wonderful historical place to visit. You can also rent a room onsite for the night. The gift shop has a mini museum that was very enjoyable for free. Restrooms are clean. The staff was terrific!! Then take a walk or a swim on the beach. Parking is not great, side of the road. Not handicap friendly.
1st time visitor here and what can I say? STUNNING!!! The water is like the Caribbean. I have to come back when its warmer to swim. O! And the rocks!!! O! So many rocks!!!!! I found my 1st agate here as well!!❤️
Small parking lot with some spots to park along the road. Very nice walk around the different buildings. Friendly staff. Very informative and interesting. The light house sits above the beach on a small sand dune. There is beach access.
This is a cool place to see Lake Michigan, Point Bestie Lighthouse. Great place for rock hounding. Free parking. Pay attention to the signage. Easy to locate off the beaten path.
I love this stop along M22. Generally decent parking as there are still many people who don’t know about it. TONS of rocks to look at or try to skip. Beautifully maintained lighthouse, take a tour! The beach is accessible during the winter months as well if you like to road trip in the winter like I do.

A bit too cold for swimming as it was still May, though the walk out to the lighthouse is always enjoyable and the views are fantastic.
Great large beach. Only small outhouse bathroom to change in. Right on edge of town with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. View is very nice
Awesome for sunsets! It gets quite crowded in the dedicated parking lot, though, so either park a little further out, or get here 30ish minutes before sunset. Plenty of benches spread out all over the beach so that no one will ruin your sunset photos haha. As a sunset connoisseur, I’d rate this spot pretty highly. The waves crashing into the lighthouse as the sun sets makes for a great shot!
Beautiful sandy beach. Side walk along back of the beach so a wheelchair could maybe manage and sit in the back. Not a lot of parking. Connected to a cute downtown. Paved path to light house.
The area attracts many tourists, and the facilities include a basic pit toilet with no running water. It’s an easy, pleasant walk to the lighthouse.
Very nice beach area! Lots of sand space & free parking! Boats coming and going from the harbor were fun to watch!
Great beach! The peer is cool if it's walkable. Be very careful on the pier, the waves can get high and make it very dangerous. Be attentive to young children on both the beach and the pier, Lake Michigan is no joke. Lots of fishermen on the pier which can make it slippery from the fish blood on the pier. Beautiful view though, great picture opportunities. Great place to swim in the lake. Lots of beach space, doesnt typically ring out of room. Parking can be a nightmare though. Bring sandals, the sand gets hot! You can experience the singing sand a little bit if you walk down the beach. Very close to all the local shops, great place to stop.
We were there on a Saturday with beautiful weather and it was not super crowded. The beach was nice. The walk out to the lighthouse could get a little narrow with many people, no railing, and holes in the concrete. Watch your step! It was a fun adventure walking out! People were fishing. The lighthouse was not open to go in. There is a ladder on the exterior to climb part of the way up. The beach is nice and clean. There is a restroom that was a larger single stall. One for men, and the other for women. They are smelly and are just a hole into the ground with a seat. It works when you go to go and there are not many options. Some people were flying kites and playing volleyball. There were lots dogs.

If you are looking for the perfect place for a family getaway this is the place to be. We have stayed in both the cabins and rooms and absolutely loved both. We have small kids and love that we don’t have to cross a busy road to get to the lake. The owners are amazing and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place.
Yes, the views of Crystal Lake are amazing! Our king room looked right to the lake. The room was clean, but small. Because of the time of year, the room stayed humid, even with the air/fan going constantly. It was comfortable temperature-wise, though. The bed was very comfortable, with good pillows and nice linens. As others have mentioned, it seemed a bit expensive for the quality of the room. I was very grateful when my husband got sick, and we had to go home a day early. They refunded my last night's room cost without question.
This resort was perfect for a little Up North pit stop. We were scheduled for 2 nights but when we had an issue at our Air BNB we were able to get in for a 3rd! The owner was amazingly sweet & accommodating! Kelly at the front desk & the 2 gals in house keeping were super friendly too! Great location & loved the private area by on the lake, very peaceful! My only suggestion would be to get better pillows. The pillows were too thin & not comfortable. Sleeping in a foreign bed is hard enough but hotel pillows always make a huge difference.
We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfy and clean. Well stocked with the things you would expect. Microwave, Kurig, small refrigerator, towels and toiletries. Large TV. Beds were medium firm and comfortable. Pretty view of the lake.
We booked a 1 night stay here and had a wonderful experience. Service was wonderful. We appreciate receiving champagne and a nice card for our honeymoon. Beach access is just steps away. Beautiful sunsets. Crystal lake is clear and beautiful. Definitely recommend if you need to stay somewhere in northern Michigan. Thank you again for the wonderful hospitality.
My husband reserved a room during the triathlon this weekend (9/14/24) He called yesterday to confirm his reservation and was told he was all set to check in today. When he arrived he was told that they had sold his room to someone else and there was nothing they could do. They claimed someone called and told them to release it. This is not true. Thankfully he was able to get a room somewhere else after calling around everywhere. Mind you he drove 5 hours to get there, and was told he had no room. The front desk staff was unhelpful and showed no remorse or offered any way to fix the problem. He never requested the room to be sold. The place he was able to book successfully said that this is a common occurrence with this establishment so I would be cautious when booking. I can't comment on the rooms or location since he had nowhere to stay. However we will never book with them again. He had confirmation of reservation and payment from Expedia and his email, he offered to provide it and was told it was too late it had already been sold.
Rooms were very, very small. Could not get the heat to work. Shower was 24 inches square and TV has very poor reception. Beautiful spot on the lake.
The people who run this place along with cold creek are amazing hosts. I will only stay here when I come up to the west side.

Was an absolute pleasure attending ceramics class with my Papa Lester today I enjoyed it very much. It was pretty easy as well and something all ages can enjoy. Beautiful view of Lake Michigan and light house. I love Oliver’s art center!
We were in the area and had some time to kill. We went to their main gallery on the theme “She” honoring women in art . This gallery has a variety of art created by women. There are a few pieces of art that are thought provoking by seeing through women’s eyes/hands who have opposite political/life views from mine. I had a nice conversation with the receptionist and she said “balance” on how people see things. I believe that this gallery would be a great place to debate/understand how women feel/view through the art made by women. Bring your friends who are on opposite sides and have a healthy discussion. We are in this earth as humans and let us remove the division from our lives. The building is beautifully designed at an excellent location. Thank you Ms D. for the book.
Alas, it's hard for me to rate this one. I came between exhibits, and the main gallery was closed - not that I'm going to begrudge them that, I came on a Tuesday morning, which is arguably the best time to set up a new exhibit. There was, thankfully, a small side gallery with fishing themed art that was open, which was quite fun. Also they have a tiny art library outside which operates on the same principle as any other library, but for little pieces of art, which is absolutely wonderful in both concept and execution. It's free and the docent was very nice. Can recommend, especially if you're downtown anyway, but perhaps call ahead to make sure the main gallery is open.
We were there last week on vacation, and my sister in law, myself and my 4 year old nephew walked in, and just because my nephew accidentally dropped a tiny figurine and broke the ear off it, they made my sister in law pay for it.... cost her $40. No one was even in the gift shop when it happened, and all a sudden a female staff member comes in and notices the ear fell off the tiny figurine? She says, "oh the ear is missing, did he drop this?" it was an accident, i told the staff member it was an accident and she rudely says "no he dropped it". If places like this cant understand that small children tend to touch things, then maybe they should have a sign on the door that says "no children allowed" otherwise, they should have a policy for damaged items. I was going to buy a book and a sticker from their gift shop, but i put it back, i will not patron places like this. I will not be returning. Thanks for ruining my experience. If you guys are so concerned about fragile items getting broken, here’s a suggestion… put them in glass showcases!!!!! The end.
A not to be missed experience in Frankfort. Well curated selection of professional artist's work. Beautiful venue and friendly staff. Plus for sale work is priced well. I especially enjoyed the Glenn Wolff mixed media art.
Fantastic wonderful place to enjoy the best in the art world. Affordable prices and we enjoyed meeting the artists who make the wonderful art.
It has always been lovely to have the art center in the community. But to enjoy the experience the art center has to offer, it is best to avoid the staff. Their rude staff set the tone for the visit and it doesn't leave you with a feeling like you want to come back. If you have a question or concern, or even a concern about personal safety given a concerning situation at the center, you will find these employees do not care about anyone other than themselves and they make that very evident.
Exceptional art venue. Staff is amazing!

The small themed playground is tucked between charming downtown Frankfort and the waterfront. The proximity to Birch and Maple (bistro), the toy store, the library, and the book shop, to name a few highlights, made this an ideal pitstop for our family as we headed for Lake Michigan. There are public bathrooms available and a covered pavillion perfect for picnics. Dogs are welcome (on leashes), and disposable doggy bags and waste bins are located nearby.
Always enjoy finding natural springs, so I was excited to see this located in Frankfort as we were passing through to check out the town. This isn't spring water, but straight up well water with that hard iron taste. It was worth a stop to try it out. And there was a nicely landscaped garden just behind it.
Cool road side stop. Water is stinky but is to be expected. Beautiful gardens surround, great park and there are pots right there. Good place for a picnic or lunch from one of the restaurants in the area.
Awesome spot for anyone and great farmers market and many other great activities.
Relaxing, fun little park. Easy parking. On bike trail. Docks easily accessible. Picnic area, public restroom, playground. Natural spring well is fun, a bit too irony for me though. Nice for walking or dogs.
Watch buy at a few times and stopped by and looked it over in Frankfort and checked it out it's a nice place to stop and look things over
We just drove through Frankfort in our way to Manistee, but the town was so pretty that we had to stop.
Stopping here and taking a drink has been a multi generation tradition for the Wurm Family!

My husband and I come to Frankfort almost every chance we get. He proposed to me in Frankfort and now it’s a second home to us. Coming into this gallery today was so special and we were able to reminisce. the owner was very sweet and willing to help with any questions we might of had. We are very satisfied with the two pieces that we purchased today and hopefully get to purchase many more in the future ❤️
I'm so glad I stopped in here. The owner has a great display of his photographs, very well done!
We loved this place! Beautiful photography and art. We loved all the bird drawings and paintings. I got a sandhill crane family 🥰 We had a lovely chat with the artist and he even recommended an excellent local birding spot.
Drew and Carl's artistry is magnificent, and both gentlemen are a pleasure to meet. I always make it a point to stop by the gallery when I'm in town. Over the course of the last few years, I've purchased several works for myself and friends. The gallery is bright, cheerful and provides a nice respite from Frankfort's heavily trafficked sidewalks.
Never wanted to buy photography art until I stepped in this place on a family trip. My hubby and I fell in love with Dan's michigan shots, saved and planned for a year, returned on our next family trip up north to purchase 3 beautiful pieces for our bedroom and o e for our living room. We plan for more!
Found this photo gallery by accident and had a nice chat with Drew. He shows some awesome pictures and has a nice huge room on the 2nd floor where he showcases his work.
