This is a great campground with nice showers/restrooms and plenty of hiking trails. It feels country but your only 5min from Marion which has lots of shopping and dinning options. I highly recommend the water park in town. The playground at the campsite is amazing! I want to highlight that it is wheel chair accessible. The ground is flat and you can easily roll onto the main play structure.
Wanatee Park (Linn County) is our 149th stop and we stayed for 4 nights. If you want a full hook up, you need to reserve early as there are a small number. All reservations are done online and there is no office to check in - easy process. A beautiful county park with paved interior roads with the sites very spread out from one another. The pads are very long and you have a section of concrete on many sites which was nice in loop A. Nicely landscaped and well-maintained where it seems each site has at least one shade tree. One fyi is in the A loop, you may have to go around the wrong way to ensure your utilities are on the correct side. Overall, I would rate this a 4.5. Connectivity (1 pm): No park WiFi available; Verizon 35.5 down/1.21 up; T-Mobile 362.0 down/1.43 up.
Really nice park. 1/2 by reservation (A loop) in advance, 1/2 first come first served (B Loop). We did not have reservations, but found plenty of spaces to choose from in the B Loop. The on-site showers were clean and amazing after a long drive. Only complaint would be no sewer hookups at the sites, but they do have an RV dump on-site. There were signs for a dog park, but we never found it. Maybe more signs could point travelers in the right direction so their fur-babies can get out and run off some energy.
Lots of space, quiet and clean. Full hook-ups at a very reasonable price. Easy in and out.
This was our First Time to camp in Loop B. It was a very nice camp spot. All spots are spacious & the Sunsets are beautiful. The fire pits could have been cleaned I cleaned out quite a bit of metal. Bathrooms have a great shower, however, watch Your step! Floor very slippery, where I think a mat or slippery when wet sign is needed. Lisa C.
Very well kept. Exceptional showers and restrooms. For an improved camp ground the sites are not as level as one might expect. Full hookups 30 and 50.
This county campground features large sites with some trees. A mix of water/electric and full hook up sites. Bathhouse has that “municipal” feel but has large showers, good water pressure, and is clean. The playground is state of the art and worth a gander.
Very well maintained Campground and park! We really enjoyed our stay here. We will be back! Spacious spots for campers, well maintained restrooms, the park is perfect for kids of all ages because they have a toddler area and a big kid area! I like the composite wood chips because they aren't sharp and pokey.

This beautiful orchard offers a country experience within easy reach of Marion, Hiawatha, and Cedar Rapids. It's just a short distance from Linn Mar HS. We visited on a weekday in August, where we found a list of seven or eight apple varieties ready to pick. The orchard house looks new and has a bit of everything from apples and cider donuts to jam, syrup, tote bags, cute children's books, etc. A super helpful employee guided us in how to pick, where to find the apples we wanted, and the orchard rules. Purchase by the weight as you pick into a wood slat basket you carry along. Please note that for those who may not desire the walk through orchards, there is a good selection of pre picked apples available for purchase. Everyone we spoke to was smiling and friendly. There is a pretty picnic area where you could take your donuts and beverage to relax. A swing is set in the front of the orchard house for the little ones to enjoy. I can well imagine that on weekends in the fall, this sweet destination is full of families enjoying the old-fashioned experience of harvesting your own apples. On this day, there were few around. So we were able to walk the lanes of trees laden with apples enjoying the heavenly fragrance while soaking up the sun with only the sounds of nature. I will return again and again to pick the changing variety of apples.
Awesome variety of apples and apple slushy. Has a shop and 70 rows of apples. Quality costs so bring your card. ;)
A very late season visit but the apples were sweet and ripe! It was a fun visit with friends. Apparently the birds enjoy the orchard too, I was delighted to find nests tucked amongst the branches. Special late season prices were a bonus. The apples were so good I will forgo grocery store apples next fall.
I have never been to an orchard. I work part-time at a store and they asked me to pick up a few cases of donuts for the store. I didn't have time to shop or look around but I thought it would be fun to bring my 13-year-old son. He went to a different orchard on a school trip when he was much younger, but I've never taken him. So today I told him I wanted to take him and he was looking forward to it. We had a wonderful time together picking apples, talking about who we'd give some to, watching the goats gobble up pumpkins and checking out the fire truck. The young gal at the register was so kind and sweet. My son picked out several honey sticks and was trying to keep the flavors separate. She offered to put them in little bags and label them for him - wow! We had a great afternoon. Highly recommend!!
We love coming here each year! The apple picking is very easy and fun. The kids love seeing the goats and bees, playing on the playground and fire truck, and eating goodies from the store. The staff is always SO kind and welcoming. You can definitely spend a couple hours here having fun!
Great Apple Orchard! Fantastic apples & overall experience in the orchard picking apples!! 🍎🍏 Was our 2nd season visiting, and was not busy on a weekday at all. Love the ease we had wandering around with my 3yr old picking apples. Also, yummy apple cider donuts!!! Great experience and will look forward to visiting every fall now.
Late in July we decided to visit Allen’s Orchard during our motor trip through Iowa. When we arrived in late afternoon, the parking lot was empty except for 1 car. We learned from the owner that it was early in the season, and they were not open for 2 more weeks. Still, she and a young man helping with the harvest & opening took the time to tell us about their orchard, their apples, tours etc. They even found & gave my wife & I, an early but ripe Pristine (it was!) apple to sample. We were on our way the next day and unfortunately could not be there for their opening. Really wish we could have. Maybe next year…
Great apples got the fresh donuts they didn't make it home lol playground for the kiddos

The guided tour of Grant Wood's studio was fantastic. Our guide was knowledgeable and his personal enthusiasm was infectious.
Checked out the Spirits Revisited tour—an interesting mix of Granger family history and some local paranormal stories. Definitely worth a stop if you’re curious about the area’s past with a spooky twist.
Not much here. I come here with my dog, he likes to watch the squirrels. I've never been inside the house or had a tour.
Some friends and I spent the night here this weekend for a paranormal investigation. Vicki was absolutely amazing! She was super knowledgeable about all the details of the house and what had happened there with the Granger family; and she spent a lot of time answering our questions. We could really tell how much she cares about this place and the history behind it. We had a few interesting things happen, but also always felt really safe there. We definitely want to come back again to stay, but also even just to be able to see Vicki! She was just the absolute sweetest and I highly recommend checking this place out!!!
I've attended both a private tour and a paranormal event, both were fabulous! Vicki took care of our tour and was so friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Highly recommend spending time at the Granger House. It is wonderful to see how much care goes into the tours, events, and keeping the house beautiful.
Antique home, so cute. I loved every room.
I’ve been to this location twice. Both were special events with ticket fees. The first time we attended a presentation on Women Serial Killers. The guest speaker was fantastic. The second time we went to a presentation by the Iowa Society of Paranormal Research. Super interesting and fun evening. They told us about their research, demonstrated tools they use, and then we spent time in various areas of the house ghost hunting. Looking forward to another event!
I just want to take a minute to express my complete unhappiness with our experience at Granger house last night. I booked the house for the night. The majority of our group had been there before. Since one had not we took the tour with Vicki. During that tour she said she had left her name and phone number in case anything happened and we needed to leave. So the first couple of hours were pretty good. Had great communication. Then things took a bad turn and the girls did not feel safe anymore. We decided that in our best interests we had to leave. I used Vicki’s phone number and left a message that we had to go because the girls were scared. We went outside and saged ourselves and everything that was with us. After playing phone tag for a bit longer I finally got in touch with Vicki. She gave me instant attitude. She was very rude and everyone sitting in the car with me heard it. We waited in the car after I saged around the car until Vicki arrived. I went out to meet her at her car and asked her why we couldn’t call since that is what she asked us to do. She was very rude from the minute she got out of the car. It was obvious she was mad about having to come back. We could have very well left without someone coming to close up the house. I really want to ask for money back because of the simple fact that she was a horrendous person to us. I don’t think she should have anything to do with the public because she is frightful. Best of luck to you as you continue to have tours and use her as a guide. I hope others have a much better experience that we did.

Excellent walking path located right outside Cedar Rapids!!! Most of the path is concrete closer to the park and crushed gravel farther away from the park. Trails were well maintained and it was a great exercise experience for my walk. Trails meander along a creek with rapids at several locations. Also through woods and frisbee golf course. Very enjoyable!!! Enjoy!!!
When I went over to Thomas Park, I saw it had plenty of kids playing. The playground was getting plenty of use and no issues came up. It did look like it could use a little more upkeep but the kids seemed happy. I could understand the splash pad being closed due to the season, but seeing the main restrooms closed down was surprising. Fortunately, there was a separate stall for use. The pathways offer a great opportunity for walkers and joggers alike. Whether someone wants to take a relaxing walk or get some long distance training in, the paths are wide enough for plenty of people and offer a reasonable amount of incline. Overall, it’s a nice place to hang out at or to get away from a busy life and relax.
This is a huge park with a splash pad, 2 playground and a massive sandbox! There are 3 very large covered areas with power and trash cans would be very good spot for patty’s or a family reunion! We love the big playground! Basketball courts and walking trail are great as well! Lots to do for all ages.
I love this park!!! Listening to Indian Creek flow is so relaxing. Beautiful area for photos and a picnic. (Due to recent rain, the water in the creek is higher than normal and it's usually clear to see the bottom).
A wonderful park along first ave on the border of marion and cedar rapids. They have multiple shelters that you can rent. A nice playground with kid swings as well.as swings for older kids. A sand pit to play in or dig in. A splash pad. Basketball courts i believe 4. Disc golf course. Area to play soccer. A paved trail to run and walk on.
Excellent park!! Variety of playground equipment to play on. Large area for kids, huge sandbox, lots of parking and seating areas. Clean restrooms with a vending machine and drinking fountain.
Fun place with park, splash pad, covering eating areas, great walking path and all around clean area. Also has a bathroom on site. Wish they had more garbage cans for as large as the area is. Nice parking as well.
Very clean. I particularly used the Marion HS Track every morning while on vacation. Very nice. Update 1.12.23: Sad to see the Marion Track and historic Football Stadium was razed. I now have moved over to using the beautiful trails from Thomas Park. 4.17.23- I have started to venture into the old Marion Cemetery. What a nice history lesson. Really worth checking out if you are in the area. Highly recommend! 9.21.23- New Parkview Elementary School Construction in place of old HS Football Field/Track

We did the 'Murder Mystery' with dinner at the 'Goldfinch' (right nextdoor). After a great meal, how cool to simply stroll to the theater and be graciously welcomed inside. Staff (I believe all volunteers) were exceptionally attentive, actors great, snacks delightful, and venue comfortably charming! Return worthy?! Absolutely! We already have tickets for their next production. (Only an hour and a half from Bettendorf, but worth the drive!)
What a wonderful spot for entertainment. The seats are comfortable and the staff is so friendly.
Amazing cultural experience! Drove here from Des Moines with a group of friends to see a show. I was beyond amazed by the space and the wonderful talent. Truly a gem. The theatre is cozy, the couches and other seating extremely comfortable, the experience intimate, and the talent top notch. I'll be back and I highly recommend.
The company was made up of high school students from Linn Mar, Washington and Xavier. They were excellent at adapting to improv and the personalities shined with every challenge! Don't forget the bus stop! Thanks Two Guys and all.
Love this place. It's so laid back. I specially enjoy that they come around asking for your drink orders. Prices are affordable for the tickets. So great!
Love this place. Truly a life changing environment for the audience and actors. Love you gtt 🫶🏻
Marriage is murder was great! The owners were great and service was amazing. Comfy atmosphere. Will definitely go again.
This is a quaint little storefront theater in downtown Marion. I went to see a murder mystery which they do several times a year. There is audience participation with questions to get clues and a chance to guess who the murderer is. They announce who won with much fanfare. It's so fun for everybody. It's all community volunteers and directors. The seating floor is couches and easy chairs. Feel free to bring your blanket, slippers and stuffies. The staff comes to your seat to take your order. At intermission they come and see if you want refills. And at the end of the show they come and take your check. You don't have to get up for any of it. The staff is super friendly and they give part of the profits to a chosen charity that rotates. Highly recommended!

The Grant Wood Trail is a nice route to walk or run. If you don’t mind some noise from traffic, it’s a great place for jogging. Anyone in the area looking to prepare for running a 5K or 10k could get a lot of mileage out of this route. Plus, there’s a nice view of 7th Avenue from the upper road.
Great trail right in town. Nearly all of it east of 100 is crushed limestone, and great newly paved trail from 100 and almost right to downtown Marion.
amazing trail for biking, walking, and running. the trail is very flat and well paved, offering a worry-free environment for bikers and runners. seeing animals and wildlife on this trial is very nice too!
This place was so fun to walk around and see the views there wasn't anything bad about walking down this trail!
Runs next to Waldo Rock Park. Really nice for a walk next to the corn fields, fully paved and hardly any elevation making this great for an easy walk or bike ride. Waldo's park has some benches and other amenities making it a welcome pitstop.
Absolutely beautiful and well maintained trail. Paved from downtown Marion to Waldos park with tunnel under highway 13. From there on crushed rock with about a mile on highway you can ride to edge of Springville. Very peaceful..
This is a work in progress. Some of the trail has been paved West of highway 13. Quite a bit of it East of highway 13 remains crushed rock or undeveloped. There's about a 1/2 a mile paved East of highway 13. Nonetheless it is very nice stroll or bike ride As it takes you East of the city Past One of the few remaining hanging bogs.
Marion has really been updating their trails and it shows in a huge way as you walk the grant wood trail. Lots of paved portions and a beautiful pond to walk around this trail just gets better and better each year!

Happily surprised to find a selection of record albums / lps here. Mostly rock but also other genres too. Prices of the jazz albums I bought ranged from $6 to $10, all in very good to excellent condition.
Small little shop with a couple of good items, got some glasses the day I went in. Guy at the counter was obviously not familiar with the store and it’s sales because another guy had to explain to him and he didn’t take off one of the discounts. Not one to cause a ruckus so I didn’t mind too much. Might go again but it also may just be a one and done type store
Excellent selection and the fellow at the counter was really nice. This is the type of antique store that is from a bygone era when antique stores actually had mostly quality antiques from across the years and not mixing in modern distressed wood and other imitation “antiques”. It’s worth return trips. A must stop if in the Cedar Rapids area.
Decent place to go I went there to see if he would buy any of my antiques that I had and he called somebody that he supposedly would go to for pricing on thing and they weigh underbidded my items and he turned me down otherwise it's a decent place I would recommend it to anybody. If you're not into antique stuff then don't go here, otherwise this is your place to go!
Nice variety, organized, and friendly staff, I usually find something of interest each time I'm there.
Looks like a decent shop but since they are closed on Mondays I don’t know. Please update your hours. I drove out of my way to check out your shop to find a note on the door saying you are closed on Mondays but the internet shows you are open.
If you are looking for it, they have it! Inventory constantly updated with quality pieces. We are collectors and we visit frequently! Friendly, knowledgeable owners and staff!
Love this place!! Lots to look at and wonderful customer service!! All the jewelry was half off:) We will be back!!

This was an amazing place for our wedding reception! The food was great, and we had great service from Dave and his family! Highly recommend!
The location, food, and value were all good. Our biggest concern was with how hot it was inside for our wedding reception. We only had about 150 guests, and it was towards the end of June, but we had been assured that it would not be too bad. As a bride, I was fanning myself constantly, and some of my family members complained as well. Overall a good experience, as our guests seemed happy and entertained.
Posting on behalf of my technologically challenged mother- My son and daughter-in law were married at the Prairie Hills Pavilion, 5680 Kacena Ave. Marion, IA 52302 on April 17, 2021. It is safe to say that our experience there was less than satisfactory. The kids booked this venue on August 5, 2020. They were told about the full-service bar, catering options, DJ and other amenities they had to offer for a wedding. It sounded like the perfect place to hold this special event. As we were getting closer to the wedding date, I sent several text messages to Dave that were either unanswered or much delayed. I wanted to book the venue for an extra day to allow us time to decorate. I called, left a message twice and sent an email - all went unanswered. On April 6, 2021, the kids met with Dave at the venue to go over the menu and make sure all of the arrangements were in order. It was at that time he told them that because of Covid he did not renew his liquor license! This is 10 days before the big day! He told them that we could bring in our own liquor and he would provide the soda. What an inconvenience! Dave told them the bartender would not serve the liquor but would pour out of the kegs that we brought in. We noticed the liquor license hanging on the wall actually expired in 2019. The day before, April 16, 2021, he did let us in to decorate the hall at 4pm. It was at this time I tried to talk to him about us bringing in the liquor because there was no documentation in the contract they signed saying we could. I just wanted to play it safe for the kids. When confronted with the changes to the contract, he became belligerent and refused to work it out. He also told us we would now have to pour our own beer, so no bartender at all. He even threatened to not allow us to have alcohol anymore at all. The day of the Wedding April 17, 2021, we had 157 guests attending. We noticed, going into the building, he only had one air conditioner running. By the time the wedding ceremony was over, everyone was complaining about how hot it was in there. One of the groomsmen mentioned it to Dave and he said he would open some windows and the doors - “it will cool off in a while”. He did eventually turn on all the units and the temperature was comfortable. The guests were getting their drinks (pouring their own liquor) however there was no one pouring the soda for which I paid $1.15 per guest. I had to go into the kitchen several times to ask someone to come out to pour soda and get ice for the guests. The servers were just sitting there. I went in one final time and asked that someone come out and please stay out there. They sent out a young man who just stood there on his phone and ignored everyone. Then we found out the only soda they had to serve was Pepsi, so my guests went out to get their own mixers! When getting the food ready to serve, one of the servers was trying to get things set up while holding a large can of Budweiser. She then came out of the kitchen with all the serving spoons tucked in her arm pit. I will not even get into how unprofessionally the staff was dressed to serve at a wedding event. All this happened and Dave still charged us $1.15 per person for soda and $100 for a bartender he did not provide. He also charged us $180 extra to decorate the day before. According to the contract, if either party breaches the agreement, they are out the deposit of $500. This is no joke…. I do not want anyone else to go through this.
Very nice hall that we chose to host our wedding reception of about 200 people. It was great to have all in one, meaning the owner DJ's, Provides the decorations for the hall and caters the food himself. The food was great and we had plenty for the number of plates we ordered. Dave did a good job DJ'ing and all for a VERY reasonable price.
I attended a wedding reception here last weekend and while the reception itself was beautiful, I found that this location is NOT kid friendly at all. There was no option for changing a baby in either of the bathrooms and there wasn't even a counter near the sink that would work in a pinch. I had to take my baby outside to the back of my SUV to change his diaper. Also, we asked about a high chair to which we received many blank stares until someone finally said that there were only 2 available and they were already taken. I walked around to every table and didn't see one person using one... Again, the reception I attended was absolutely beautiful, but I know that had nothing to do with the venue and everything to do with the bride's amazing decorating ability. If you are having anyone who is attending your party that is bringing along children, I would choose another location.
I got married here! David, who is the owner, he is the best DJ and Cook as well. The best roast beef and mushed potatoes in Cedar Rapids!
Beautiful Wedding Venue!
Great venue for events. I have hosted formal events here a few times and the proprietor runs a great ship for reasonable rates.

I was greeted by Robyn, the curator, who gave me an informative introduction to Marion. Since I'm not from Marion, I honestly had no idea of the significance Marion has had on the economy and culture of the Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, Robins, Marion area. Upstairs is a miniature railroad, very cool, and it works! Seriously, check this place out if you're free when they're open. It's well worth the stop. And make sure to say "Hi!" to Robyn. She's very knowledgeable and a lot of fun.
Was very disappointed that they turned people away for the titanic. My daughter and grand daughter drove all the way into town looking forward to this exhibit. Maybe you should pre sell tickets . Very disappointed.
Nice small local museum. Currently spotlighting the 50 year aniverary of Collins radio's participation with the space program
So many wonderful artists and great history here. You must take the time to visit.
Pretty neat, always cool new themes.
