Lakeside forest retreat offering an elk habitat, a biking trail, boat rentals & large picnic groves.
Slide 1 of 8
Miss living across the street from this forest preserve. It has ample paved pathways, a boat house, and free boat launch. We took a couple kayaks and rented another one for a nice little paddle around the lake. We got caught by rain but found refuge under a bridge.
It is my favorite place for a peaceful walk, but there are many bike and scooter riders. If you want to walk for a long distance, this is still the best. The red trail is over 7 miles long. It is an easy and flat trail with many rest stops along the way. I like the bench located near the lake for the beautiful view.
Nice place to visit for outdoor activities. Multiple entrances and easy to park. Walking and Bike path around the whole preserve. Plenty of space for everyone.
Lots of parking. People are fishing constantly. Public restrooms. You do have to pay for groups on holidays, double check the site if necessary. Great ultimate Frisbee group, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. Check it out on Meet Up
Nice place near Chicago to bike , walk , picnic with large lakes to go boating and fishing. Good memories here.
I have been going to Busse Woods for years now. Love to hike there and just relax in nature sometimes. I have to say I have never seen the bathrooms in such cleanliness as I have this year. Even more amazing there's always toilet paper. I dont know if this is a new crew or new training, but keep up the good work. Its very appreciated.
Mtb trail was too overgrown in areas, with fallen trees blocking the path multiple times, many trails lead to overgrown areas both unhikeable and unrideable, I got stuck and then swarmed by mosquitos. Other than that I was being evil cutting up in busse woods 😈
Beautiful park with so much to do—biking, jogging, kayaking, or just relaxing by the water. The trails are well-maintained, and the elk area is a must-see! Great spot to spend the day outdoors with family or friends.

Such a cute little park for young kids! I want to start with it is not a place where you will get wet so you DO NOT need swim suits. That was a mistake I made. I assumed when I seen the duck paddle boats water was involved. If you have smaller children maybe under 8 this is the best place to go! Kids older might not enjoy it as much. It is geared towards the younger children. The rides have no height or age limits which I love! Perfect for the little kids who want to do what the “big” kids do like my 2 year old! The staff are very friendly and helpful. I seen smaller kids around 1 on the paddle boats and the staff member will stay with them and help them paddle around as well. It is so cute! You can bring food and drinks inside and have your own little picnic with your kids. The site says they recommend Socks and gym shoes, but crocs were just fine for my kids. They do sell food but it is pretty expensive if you have more than one child.
Fun filled park for kids 1-9 years old. Tickets are only needed for children. $10 for Residents and $15 for Non Residents. Lots of rides, play area, fun filled activities, trains. They also have a place to have a picnic.
It's not bad! It's small, but the kids were safe in there, as there's only 1 way in and 1 way out. The kids had fun. You can spend about 2-3 hours and then that's about it. The age ranges are 2-7. My boy was 7, but I think that's the oldest that would be entertained there. The concessions there are pricy! We had a fun time. The workers were nice. Bathroom were clean. Overall not bad, but you won't spend the entire day there. I still would recommend. Great for a morning trip and then home for lunch, then nap time!
This place is so adorable! My little 1 year old loved it! She was able to go on most of the rides! The staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend going again!
Great experience overall. The only thing is place is missing is a way to shoot some kind of water cannons and maybe a pirate for the kids to take a picture with. Other wise great time, Very affordable, & friendly staff. 😊
So much fun for little kids! Amusement park for little ones! Will definitely come back
We have visited this park almost every year since 2018 and it continues to be a major destination of our summer vacation. The staff is always so nice and keep a safe park, while allowing the kids to take multiple rides, depending on crowds. We love the carousel, "Dumbo" type spinning pirate ship ride, as well as the paddle boats. The safari train is great too, as parents can ride with their kids. The big slide, a playground and bounce house round out the selection of attractions for kids age 2-9. It will be so sad when my son ages out and can no longer ride the rides. We highly recommend this park, it's a hidden gem!
Best place for younger kids. I used to take my kids here when they were younger. Good rides and they have an area where you can buy a treasure chest and fill it will plastic gold coins and shiny gems. It's a good time

Mia was amazing. Taco pizza hit the spot. Hubby's ribeye was thoroughly enjoyed. Veggies could have been cooked a tad longer. My son enjoyed his pizza and fries♡♡♡ Thanks for the fun atmosphere ♡♡♡
Don’t waste your time unless you’re here for the tv screens… plenty of those!! Service was great, food was not so much - prepackaged and not cooked thoroughly. Menu states that margaritas are made with in-house sweet n sour - not true as I watched the server make my margarita with bottled margarita mix. The pretzel was not even luke warm on the inside. I ordered the French dip. The meat was very thin, chewy and overcooked - prepackaged . The au jus contained way too much oregano (not sure why there is any.) However, the bread seemed to be fresh and tasty. I’ve been to plenty of restaurants using all frozen products but at least cooked. I would not return to this one.
Pretty disappointed about the food… Everything looked so unattractive and undesirable .. Potato skins were very dry; sour cream and green onion saved it a bit.. The vegetables were completely tasteless and overcooked. The ribs were “supposed” to be the best, but turned out to be one of the worst things that I’ve tried from there… The only thing that was okay to eat was the Philly cheesesteak sliders.. P.S Thank you for the food!!!
Ordered the ribs and they were by far the worst ribs I have ever seen come out of a kitchen. I can’t believe they would even think about serving them. They were burnt to the point that the meat was hard, not chewy, but hard! Then we immediately asked for something else, which were wings. When the wings came out they were 1/2 cold and my date was already done eating. Management was informed and a simple apology was given. I expected to at least have the wings comped for the wait, or even something offered for the inconvenience, but nothing. They handed me a bill with everything charged. Just a horrible experience overall. They weren’t busy, so you can’t blame that. I’d rate the experience lower if I could. Pathetic!
This past weekend I had my husbands surprise birthday party at Real Time Sports, leading up to the party I was in contact with Ben, he was great! He was very quick to get back to me with any questions I had and helped me to plan the party. Daisy and Sam were our servers and they were amazing as well. Very attentive to my guests with refilling drinks and the food bar, as well as clearing tables. Everyone was so helpful during set up, and excited to help with the surprise. All my guests were very happy with the food and atmosphere. The staff were even accommodating for food allergies we had. Definitely a great experience all around.
This place has gotten much better at customer service over the years. The pizza is amazing, the ultimate nachos are the best I've had (easily enough for 4 people), the smoked shrimp quesadilla is my favorite (thank you Renee for making me realize I can order it closed-face), some of the best fried pickles I've ever had (and I've had A LOT), and the drinks are very reasonably priced. Great daily specials. Excellent local sports bar. Pro tips: -Order the smoked shrimp quesadilla CLOSED-face. -If you like cheese, get extra cheese on your pizza.
I'm not a sports bar person, so this is not an entirely fair review but as far as food, it was adequate. I had the Reuben sandwich with tots. It said thin sliced corned beef but my first bite was a nice chunk that pulled out of the sandwich. The sandwich bread is relatively small, the tots, generous. Staff was nice, we socialized for a while before ordering and she returned frequently.
Great selection of food. Everything was good. I was there for five days on business and I think we ate their three out of the five days for lunch. Nice atmosphere and cool games to play while you wait. Full service bar very friendly staff.

Hello everyone, This past weekend, my group of about 18 people watched the Super Bowl at Coach’s Corner in Elk Grove, and I have to say—it was an amazing experience from start to finish! From the moment we booked, Sue, the owner, was incredibly accommodating and made sure everything was set up perfectly for us. When we arrived, we were welcomed with top-notch service. Our server, Alex, went above and beyond to take care of our group—attentive, friendly, and always on point. Behind the bar, Gary kept the drinks flowing and brought great energy to the night. The atmosphere was perfect for the big game, with plenty of screens, a lively crowd, and a great setup for watching football. The food was delicious, and the service made it even better. If you’re looking for a great place to catch a game, enjoy good food, and be treated like a VIP, I highly recommend Coach’s Corner. We had such a fantastic time—so much so that I hope I behaved myself after a few drinks! 😆 A huge thank you to Sue, Alex, Gary, and the entire Coach’s Corner team for making our Super Bowl experience first-class! We’ll definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our first experience here was great! We did not try any drinks, as we solely came for the food. We got the waffle fries with cheese and bacon bits, as well as the cheese curds as an appetizer. Both of these did not disappoint. We also ordered a pizza and an order of buffalo wings. The thin crust pizza was delicious, extra cheese pull and crunchy crust. As someone who is not much into wings, these wings were delicious! My partner and I loved them as they were very crunchy and flavorful. We came on a very relaxed night so the atmosphere was nice and peaceful. Friendly staff as well. (: We definitely had a 10/10 experience and will definitely come back to try their Italian beef.
Reserved space for superbowl!! They had raffles at halftime. Food was amazing... Italian beef, Italian sausage, and meatball. Sandwich was amazing. The wings were perfectly done(bone in of course). Drinks were well poured and service was prompt and courteous.
This place rocks! The bartender is outstanding with amazing personality. I sat next to the ex owner who is a great guy to talk to then I met his ex-wife who owns the place her name us Sue. She was also very nice. I love this place. I gotta go back.
Food was delicious. I have been a big fan of Portillo beef’s but let me tell you these were even better especially when you add the garlic bread. My son had a pizza with pinnaple and Canadian bacon and the was amazing. The best item I had was their raspberry martini. The best I have ever had, to where I could not stop at one I had to have the second one. My family and I will be returning. Lastly the service was one of the best.
Date: 17-May-2024 Time: Lunch Total (before tip): $18.86 Payment type: card Server: unknown, appeared to be a manager/Brent Grade: D- So I was in the mood for some wings for lunch and I saw that this place had jumbo wings, so I decided to check the joint out... and oh boy, I should have stayed away... As I entered, I was directed by, what I assume to be, a manager to sit anywhere, kind of weird not to have a hostess, but okay. I sat down and began to wait and wait and wait and wait for a server... Took a good 10 minutes for someone (the guy that looked like a manager, I will refer to him as a manager from this point on) to come over, give me a menu and take my drink order. I ordered water and looked over the menu, just in case something other than wings popped out, but I decided to stick to their jumbo wings. As the manager brought me water, I mentioned to him that I was ready to order, I asked him about which sauce(bbq or honey bbq) is better, he made his recommendation (which was just bbq) and off I placed my order. I must admit the wings came out fairly quick and they were clearly hot, made to order, but that's about where the good stuff ends... The wings were not that great, the sauce was average at best and the wings were not jumbo at all, looked average size, frozen out of the bag, kind, sort the size of what the big chain would have... Definitely not likely to return, D- experiences, service was completely atrociously awful.
I want to thank the entire staff for a great night! Over the past decade we have celebrated birthdays, played trivia night, and hung out with co-workers over good food and drinks, so when I am in the area and friends want to hang out it is a no-brainer to meet up here. In the current climate of things, I was thrilled they were standing up to the ridiculous demands of a dictator, but I wasn't sure what indoor dining was going to look like. Within a few minutes of being there it felt as normal as things can, I really appreciate that. It was very clean and people were respecting each others space. The food was outstanding and the drinks were especially tasty. If you are nearby, I would highly suggest checking them out!
These are supposed to be cheese sticks smh it just a soft tortilla rolled with shredded cheese in it 😤 Fries were cold, fish is over cooked and burnt as u can see.....smh 🤬😤 I would never recommend anyone to eat from this place. Waste of money. I ate 2 bites of fake cheese stick and everything else went in the garbage 🗑 food was horrible!!!!

Cool taproom with vinyls on the walls. There are 2 different sections including one with pinball machines. Beers of all styles available on draught, they do cocktails as well. Near the airport so it's my go to before my flights
Holy cow—how have I never been to Mikerphone in their first decade?!?! Tucked nicely into an industrial park, Mikerphone has great looking indoor and outdoor spaces. All suitable for a great hang. Food trucks and live events check all of the other taproom boxes. Mikerphone has a diverse and regularly rotating menu of beers from lagers to interesting barrel aged and wild options. Highly recommended.
Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Saw some photos pop up on memories and I guess the first time we came here was back in November 2017, and boy, has this spot grown keeping the tasty brews and good hits bumping. Didn't get to snag a pic of their newer side but love how the original side is still there with a ton of pinball machines. Can't wait for the Park Ridge location!
Came here the first day I got to Chicago and went back a few more times during my trip. The brewery has a really nice open space, tons of sun and a dope vinyl wall behind the main bar. The patio is very spacious. I went back on a day when a band was playing and it was buzzin. They have another bar area that has pin ball tables and extra seating. The decor and color is vibrant. There were a few rotating food trucks the days I was there as well. But the brewery does offer a few bites. I did get the Bavarian soft pretzel (it's large) with the warm queso 😋 I drank a different assortment of beers including a frozen slushy! My favorite drink to start was the Spicy Rickleada. More please! Hit all the taste notes I wanted. The IPA's are crushable and had to end it with stouts to finish. I won't turn down a Bean Spirit! All the Beertenders are friendly. Vee was my favorite, she knows beer.
Rock on 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 High-end, fairly priced IPAs and lagers. Sharply selected, bright decor fitting the music theme. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Plenty of patio and indoor space, including for private events. Convenient to O'Hare. Will return.
Mikrophone Brewing is an absolute gem! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Their craft beer selection is top-notch, with something for every kind of beer lover — each one thoughtfully brewed and packed with flavor. The space itself is fantastic, with both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a great bar area if you prefer to sit right at the source. It’s the perfect place to unwind, whether you're catching up with friends or just enjoying a cold one solo. They also offer some tasty snacks that pair perfectly with the brews — a nice touch that elevates the whole experience. If you're looking for a refreshing beer on a warm summer day, or just a cool local spot to hang out, Mikrophone Brewing is a must-stop. Highly recommend
Tajin rim on a mexican lager? Yes please! Great staff here and nice variety of beers. We'll worth the visit
Great location with the tap room decorated using old guitars, vinyl and speaker fronts. Awesome beers! Between us, we tried about 10 beers. They were all great! Not a dud among them!

Took part in the sewing machine class today. Learned so much! Elk grove library has always had all available resources and the staff is really helpful!
Rainy day activities... so much to do here. The kids love it, and this library is the best! Their is so much to do here.. fun time
Thanks Rick and Mary Kay (If I spelled that correctly) for assisting James while videoing the library! You were so welcoming despite the initial interaction with Rob. I watched the video on Youtube. I am in AZ and I really think you and your staff were very friendly, and respectful of James 1st amendment right to simply document the library! Especially Rick, he was so nice and repsectful, even gave James a complaint form as he requested. Elk Grove Village has an excellent library and their staff seem top notch too. Kudos and thank you from Arizona!
Great library! Awesome kids section too! So well maintained and lots to offer.
This is an absolute gem for books, especially children's books and non-English languages specifically. This is the most thoughtfully curated collection of books in those areas that I have found in more than a decade living in this state and visiting libraries with my kids. No other library even comes close to their offerings in Spanish. I sincerely hope they keep this collection going forever. It is magical every time you are looking for something specific and you know this is the only place that will have it.
Great library for kids. Lots of activities and toys to keep young kids occupied for at least an hour. Always tough getting out kids to leave.
I love this library, my daughter has been going since she was 2 and she loves it

I think I found a favorite theater. I haven't been back in a long time but I'm glad I did. The customer service is excellent. They were very welcoming, friendly and courteous. The popcorn was fresh and yummy. I will definitely be saving this location to my favorites. Thank you.
We've visited this theater before and always loved how comfortable the chairs are! While searching for birthday party ideas, we came across the party packages online and decided to stop by and check out the party room. We ended up booking both rooms and hosted around 40 people. I was a little nervous about how everything would work out, but it was fantastic! We had three rows of seats reserved, and the kids had an absolute blast. Definitely one of our best parties yet. A big thank you to the staff for being so helpful and making the whole process easy from start to finish. We're so grateful this option is available—thank you again!
Nice local theater that plays a mix of new and old movies for low prices. The theater itself is a little worn and could use a fresh coat of paint in the foyer and hallways, but is otherwise a great little spot to see movies for under $10 a ticket. The screens themselves are up to date and feature the recliners that are rapidly replacing the old bench seats. Staff were friendly as well. Will definitely be back.
It's smaller than AMC, but has reclaining sits with heating. Prices are much affordable too.
Very clean, fantastic loungers and snacks, plus great sound and picture. Saw Karate Kid Legends. Very wonderful staff. Thank you for a great experience!
I love this theater. I really can't think of anything negative to say. Much cheaper than AMC. It is a smaller theater, but still have the perks of reclining and heated seating and concession stand. I also love the showing of older movies. You get to experience some of your favorite classics in theater. The Chicago Film club also does a awesome line up of some great classic. You really get a sense of community at this theater.
Recently filled a theater three weeks in a row for The Chosen Season 5. I play Laz on the show. The fans and I had a great time. The popcorn and service is top notch!
It's very rare that I actually go out to the movies because I have a big screen at home and I simply like the comforts and the convenience. Also I really can't stand paying more than $10 for to watch a movie in a theater. I have to say that having $6 tickets to see a new release video in a comfortable electric reclining chair felt pretty luxurious.... And an amazing deal. The place had a lot of people taking advantage of the $6 bargain and I plan on going back more often.

Beautiful brand new clubhouse with simulators and well kept course. A great balance of challenging yet playable holes with some difficult greens and pin placements. Pace of play was pretty solid. Staff was super friendly too! Will definitely be a go-to course for me.
Course is in great shape. Greens are good and roll true. Staff and management are good. New clubhouse is nice. They have simulators now. Can’t tell you about the food. Kitchen closes before our league is fully done playing each week so we go somewhere else.
It’s two different layouts, first nine holes is very forgiving if you miss the fairway but bring your golf course management skills for the back nine holes. Water, narrow fairways and out of bounds. Greens are very well taken care of. Good place to have a fun time with your golfing buddies.
Fox Run Golf course is a fantastically run course. The tee boxes and green are expertly maintained. The rangers actually drive around the course and keep the pace of play manageable. The new club house with simulators and bar is a great place to hang out during a rain delay or after your round to grab a bite to eat. A challenging course for a reasonable price. 5 stars.
Well had a blast playing 18 for the first time here. I had a Bloody Mary also and it was delicious. Course was fun
The staff was friendly and helpful Course was in good shape considering the weather Definitely playing there again this year
Probably a little more underrated course in my mind Fox Green always on point keeps good pace, the grounds, and greens are usually in great condition. Upgraded clubhouse is great simulators inside staff is always helpful . Overall good experience for the price .. great jobs to the team over there and much thanks for this seasons work 👍👍🙏
Great course. Intermediate in difficulty. Love to play here as much as I can. Watch out for hole 10.

There are paved trails as well as unpaved trails. We took an unpaved trail. It's beautiful ❤️. We saw deer, Coyotes , and many birds. The Elk Pasture itself, is fenced off. We weren't lucky enough to see one. 😔
Big beautiful park area with a 7.7 mile loop for a long walk this weekend. The trail was nice with great views of water and forest. Started and ended at the Elk trail head and the walk took about 3.5 hours. Wish there were more side off trail trails to take and that the bathrooms were working but otherwise I definitely will go back. I think bringing my bike would be the best thing for this place but great for picnics too. Only one hour from Chicago where I live.
I recently went to the Busse Forest Elk Pasture Natural Preserve in Elk Grove, IL, and it was awesome! Here's why: The Elk Pasture is part of the big Busse Woods Forest Preserve. It's really pretty with lots of trees and green grass. It's a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The best part is seeing the elk! They roam around the pasture, and you can watch them from a safe distance. It's super cool to see these big animals up close. There are signs at entrance that teach you about elk and their home. It's interesting to learn about how they live and why they're important. You can walk or ride your bike on the trails. It's fun to explore and see animals while getting some exercise. It's a nice place to go with your family. Kids will like seeing the elk, and there are easy trails for everyone to walk on. They have bathrooms, places to have a picnic, and places to sit and relax. Everything you need for a fun day outside! The Busse Forest Elk Pasture Natural Preserve is a really cool place to visit. You can enjoy nature, see elk, and have fun with your family. If you like being outside, you should definitely check it out!
Review written 7/15/2025. Beautiful elk and nice areas for walking. Plenty of free parking
Love this side of the trail because of the elks, which you can look at up close. It’s an awesome shaded area if you want to avoid the very sunny hours during summer.
Trail was under construction so my family had to walk across multiple busy streets. But we did get to see the Elk. My family stopped and had a picnic down by the dam. Paths are paved and well maintained.
I love nature so this place was just amazing. They are doing construction but doesn't affect your view. Awesome experience.
So beautiful! The red line is about 6 miles be prepared.

Arcade isn't wheelchair accessible when addressed about it to front desk employee was rude . The lanes also aren't 100% accessible for wheelchairs although bathroom was accessible & the food & bowling was pretty good.
They have cool new recordkeeping monitors. Other than that it's a standard bowling alley. They do shoe rental and balls are available for use. Look for off time prices, its very affordable.
I am going to miss you... :( Too many good memories with family and friends here.. they paved paradise and put up apartment buildings.
The family so enjoyed our game time here. The food was excellent and the environment was clean, fun and inviting. The music was great and I liked the feature of the photo for score keeping. The bumper rails that come up for each player that needed them for their own turn was great too. Normally you'd have to get a whole other lane for the kids that need a bumper. This allowed us to Play on one lane as a family. Good times.
We held a 6yr old birthday party here. What a great place to have a birthday party. The kids absolutely loved it. They didn't sit in their seats until it was time to eat. Kids love bowling. And, while many places book up well in advance, Elk Grove was able to accommodate on a relatively short notice. The kitchen was fantastic and the food was delicious. These guys do a great job catering to you. I would highly recommend them for kids birthday parties.
It's a nice venue overall and is kept up pretty well. The snack shop has some really good food choices. Lots to do in the game room and bar if you're wanting a break from bowling. Not a huge fan of the layout of the seating for league bowling or large groups, especially for the lanes directly behind the counter. Overall though it's a fun place to bowl at a reasonable price.
We had the BEST time for our daughters 8th birthday. The pizza was delicious, the arcade was super cute and clean, the kids loved cosmic bowling, and the staff was extremely nice and friendly. We will be back for more birthday parties! Thank you so much.

Jorddann is amazing, sweet, super helpful and attentive. Upon entering she greeted us and offered to grab us drinks right away. She let us know about Dotty’s App and helped us sign up to win raffles for the summer prizes. Definitely going back soon!
I emailed your address and never heard back from you. Guess u don't care about your customers. I have visited this place a few times in the past week. Donated 100 bucks, never once going above what i put in. Then each subsequent visit the old black haired lady gets irritated with me saying i dont stay long enough, that i am not friendly and i eat to many cookies. I had 2 cookies in 4 visits. This old lady really knows how to kill a business where customer loyalty is key when these gaming casinos are on every block. She needs to retire before she runs off all her patrons. Go someplace else that your hard earned money is appreciated!
Used to go here all the time until Annette moved to the Lake Street location in Roselle. Angela is now the manager here and is doing a good job bringing this place up to par again.
Win more here then anywhere, especially after all the gaming places reopened. Definitely worth checking out ! Dollar beers and wine on the weekends !!
Love this location:)) I've made some great wins here and always leave something for a host that offers me a drink;)
Jorddann is an amazing employee!! She brightens my day every time I walk in Dottys !
